The phone have so tight port and I find it hard to connect or disconnect. i'm wondering how can we slack off the type-c usb.
Or this situation does have any problem in future?
Have you tried a different cable?
Mine is easy to to plug in

Sorry but i have not any different cable? but i ordered and waiting to reach me.
Hmm, i bought an official xiaomi Adapter, which works fine
I have seen it noted that the original cable has a bit more click or snap to it than other cables, but I'm also still waiting on my other cable so I can't compare.
It does have more resistance than I'm used to with my other micro-usb connections, but not so much that it is ever hard to connect or disconnect.
I've not seen reports that this causes problems with other cables being too loose down the line. Normally cable connectors are 'softer' than their ports, so if anything the original cable would become a little looser after enough use.

In one week I have succeed to break my microUSB cable that came with the Desire, the USB-Brick is probably due to manipulation with those type of weak cables for sure it can't help. I'll get a new one (or two). I guess my pile of 20 miniUSB is useless now...
The Odd is that it can charge upside down
yeah very rare, ive never managed to break my cable and my cable has been through a lot including using it as a belt along with holding a pair of ladders down on the top of my car

Are you serious?
This isn't exactly Sonim.
Still, how exactly is the OP's cable damaged?
P.S. I'm also pissed that my collection over way over 100 miniUSB cables seem to be all too slowly becoming redundant. Before my HTC Desire, everything was Mini, not I'm forced to carry both types around. I'm considering making some neat little converters for my other devices.
Can confirm.
The cable that came with my Desire (more wire than cable) is crap.
It broke within the first week.
Nearly no strain at all, cable break at the USB plug.
you can use a mini to micro USB convertor instead of carrying both wires around

Yes i am serious, i have been using the original HTC cable that came with the phone and an additional two official HTC cable for desire just fine. I dont have any problems with them and yes i have used them as belts and cable ties.
The only way i can see you ever damaging one of these is if you damage the end or the cable you have might have been faulty from the start or near broke.
I just tried to bend the end of mine a few times and it still seems to be working, i did a few file transfer tests and it doesnt work any slower or faster.
out of all the desires or htc phones sold with a usb mini cable your the only person to report this?
The same thing happened to shadow and my cable broke during the first month as well.

mine does too
lol
you can fix a usb brick easily and ppl if ur plugging the phone in to the front of ur computer try a different port preferably at the back
I already broke several cables. Now one on of the pins of the Desire's micro-usb connector broke.. I for sure am a bit hard on my equipment but this never happened with micro-usb. I also think it easily breaks because the cable does not fully connect with the Desire's micro-usb connector. It sticks halfway in.
Anyway, I can no longer connect via usb and with all the dents and scratches it will probably be very hard to get repaired under warranty.
Mine works fine, but my mother's stopped working without visible damage.
Mine failed too, Its fussy about charging and very rarely works for USB. I think its the microusb<->cable connection that fails because its not moulded like most cables.
I've got a cable from a blackberry now (it was lying around, ive never had a BB) which works fine for charging and USB, the moulded connector seems better and the cable is much thicker.
I'd rather the cable or connector broke than the port on the phone (which is what microusb is designed for)
I was wondering if they can be fixed?!
YOU"RE RIGHT, they're flimsy.
These
Code:
[URL="http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B004W3LKZ0/ref=cm_cr_rev_prod_title"]cables[/URL]
Look sturdy but break too easily. Not as cheap as most chinese made but these cables usually break in about 2 months for me. Dont even think about folding it and putting it in a bag for those frail, dying HTC phones.
I wonder if the cables are easy to fix... its copper right?
-Can anyone recommend a simple way to handle these wires or a more durable wire? I dont want to buy one every month. I'm thinking about http://www.amazon.com/Micro-Retract..._19?s=wireless&ie=UTF8&qid=1328931599&sr=1-19.

I am thinking about it. It costs about the same to just buy the micro cable. This has 30 days. http://www.ebay.com/itm/Mini-5-Pin-...262914?pt=PDA_Accessories&hash=item3f13828e82
my usb cable rubber is also starting to split at the ends. but it still works fine.
Never broke it but...
I never actually broke the cable, but I always found it very loose. When I insert the microUSB into my phone it doesn't click or anything. It just sorta lays there. It is not very stable and I am always terrified when messing around with something that requires a stable connection (alpharev, root, etc.)
Am I the only one experiencing this, or did I just get a lame cable?
USB conector
I've never had trouble with my htc cable, but I've replaced the usb port twice on one phone and once on the other. (yes I have two desire's)
I too wish it was a deeper port.
Hello,
does anyone know where can I purchase a USB Cable for my Galaxy S so that it could be detected by kies?
thanks.
The cable used is a standard Micro USB cable, nothing special.
Yes, any standard Micro USB cable work.
you can buy for less than $2 over Hong Kong site
Be careful, once I bought a couple of cheap cables for my SGS on eb.. and they resulted to be only good for charging (and the charge is really slow), no usb file transfer, no Odin,...
I use this one from dealextreme: http://goo.gl/qYLSz, "Genuine" Nokia CA-101. Works very well with well everything...

THIS IS WHAT I AM TALKING ABOUT.
I bought a cable for £2, thought it was dirt cheap.
but looks like Samsung restricts usage of other cables on its phones. It doesn't allow the phone to be detected as a MTP device? or in Kies.
I tried several different cables.
Never had any problems.
(original Samsung, Nokia, Moto, Nokia from.Dealextreme, cheap cables, Kindle,....)

I can't help but think this is blatantly false. I've even made my own micro-USB cable for my tests on battery charging and it still had zero problems.
The USB spec doesn't allow a device to discriminate on cables. If there was something different in the cable then it would affect the computer side as well.
Now on the other hand the USB connectors themselves are fragile as all heck. I've been through many failed cables over the years in both mini and micro USB cables. Chances are the cable itself is bad.
The cable which I bought was good I think. It was charging, and I could connect it into USB mode. But I couldnt connect it into MTP mode.
I don't think I have even used my Samsung cable that came with the phone, Im not even sure where it is now too LOL
I have a Nokia N900 too so I use that cable (Nokia CA-101) instead and everything works fine
Kies however is a completely different kettle of fish and has always been temperamental at the best of times, especially in Windows 7
Now I use Galnet MIUI Rom I no longer (thankfully) have to use Kies
anyone know where to get an official cable in the UK?
ahhhhh wow looks good!
Stop spamming dude?
I bought cheap usb cable from ebay.
date transfer is really slow and somethimes it give's not dedected error.

I use my old cable from samsung i8510 now at work
I've bought 2 of these and they are working well.
I use them to stay permanently connected to my docking station in the 2 offices I'm working

Hi,
I've got quite weird problem. Most micro-usb cables doesn't fit nicely with my phone. I've to push it and it feels like I could break something. Is there company that makes good quality cables like Samsung's original ones?
Pretty easy to get oem cables on ebay.
Ok, but is there any particular company, except oem, that you would recommend?
OEM Micro USB Cable
I have searched everywhere, there is no OEM Micro USB Cable available for Galaxy S4.
On ebay , when you select OEM warranty , no results shows up for Micro USB cable.
Can anyone help me find a replacement, the charger is working fine but I'm unable to find the best cable?
Please advice.
Thanks,
Sid
I've bought an Aukey cable and it works really fine.
Try blueridge. They make some of the best cables. I have one and it even supports fast charging ( qualcomm quick charge )

double yes on the blueridge, been using them a while now and no issues
So Blueridge, Thanks.
try look for Remax micro usb cable which is very durable and good quality. But beware of counterfeit one as there's a lot in the market right now.
I've just got myself an LG cable from ... http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/331618247629 ... The OEM Samsung cable was over 2 years old and was the reason my phone was charging slowly (car charger was fine and swapped an HTC cable onto the Samsung charger and that was fine so definitely the cable ...) - at 300/400mA. With this cable it will charge at the full 1900mA, it seems to fit better (more securely) into the USB port on the phone and it's also slightly longer which is, for me, an advantage.
HTH.

What phone do you use? I threw my stock usb cable (S4) away after it started "connecting/disconnecting" on its own when connected to my PC!
I'm now using my old Blackberry 9380 USB cable which is short and thick AND has NEVER done the same as experienced with stock Samsung cable. I charge with it and flash new ROMS, no problem! :good:
This one time my old stock usb cable disconnected WHILE I'm flashing my S4 with new rom - almost bricked it!
thank you

Hello,.
I can only recommend you one cable, the Anker nylon braided micro usb one, it is the best usb cable I've ever owned.
You do even get a 18 month warranty, you won't be disappointed.

As for your problem, it happened too with my new cables. It's pretty normal I think, it's usually over after 2-4 weeks.
I also used a lot of different cables (from my mice, music players, other phones) and those worked w/o any problems as well. Fit like a glove that fits nicely.
Mine is from iOrange-E. It is 6.6ft long and reversible also. Works fine for me.
I love my 6 foot Monoprice cable... Amazing and only 3 bucks with the gold plating(for looks, of course).
These that came with this extra charger are the best I've tried so far.

For a few weeks now my XZ Premium (G8142 if it matters) has been getting worse and worse at connecting when I plug in a usb-c cable. I began having to push the cable diagonally to get it to connect, and now it will only accept charge if I get it in a very specific position on one orientation. Going off what I have read, this was seemingly an issue with dirt stuck in the port, so I have tried multiple times to clean it, but the problem remains.
I got a digital microscope and recorded the output to get detailed pictures of what the USB-C port looks like: https://imgur.com/a/LjWEA4u
The pins do not seem to be damaged, but I am no expert on this. Can anyone give me advice on how to fix this besides sending it in for repair? (Ignore the timestamp on the pictures, I just didn't bother fixing it).
This happened to me but it was actually an issue with my cable so I'd first suggest trying a new cable and then take a look at the port

I've tried 4 different cables (2 usb-c to c, 2 usb-a to c), all have the same issues.
Charge fonction is working but it interrupts data transfer when I touch the USB-C connector.
Anyone have this problem?
Bad cable. Dirt, dust on C port pins or defective C port.
@blackhawk I tried with two cable which they are in good condition. There is no dust on C port that I clean often with air pressure. I think that possiblity of the defective C port is real but how? I try to care of this phone like my baby. I am disappointed. I will try to contact with Asus but I am sure that they will say this is about user issue.
Bad port on the PC maybe.
2 bad cable aren't unheard of.
Try a otg flashstick and see if it connects ok.

I have tried with two good Usb-c cable on two pc and my car. It stops data transfer when I moved it softly from Usb-c connector (head). I am sure that C port is defective. Thanks for your advices.
