Hi there,,
I click "INSTALL" in the right bottom corner in the "Pixel C Keyboard Firmware Updater" blue/white screen. The screen disappears and nothing happens. After reboot the update kyboard info comes back.
What I'm doing wrong?
Thx for patience
posting in the wrong forum for a start... Try again - the update must have failed to install for some reason.

I also had this issue. It seemed to be an updating issue during the first time update and then just didn't wanted to update and after a factory reset it didn't wanted to pair. It just went crazy. I send it for a RMA and now, the new one works perfectly, and had the update without any issue.
I just can recommend to contact Google Support about it they will ask you to do a few things to try to solve it, if it wouldn't work they will send you a RMA. If you have to install the new one, disable all near Bluethood devices, to avoid any interference.
same problem for me.
I contacted Google and after several tests with them (delete memory cache, safe mode, ...), I reset the tablet and the updating of the keyboard has been done correctly.
I was the only one to have this problem according to them, but I see I 'm not the only one !
I am Belgian and I have a AZERTY french keyboard.
There's an update for the keyboard firmware? I haven't seen any notifications.....
edit: I got it after I upgraded.

Hi all
Today I was trying to get my nexus s onto the official ota ICS update by flashing it manually, following guides other people had had success with.
I was on the cm9 ics beta, so I had to flash the full rom of 2.3.6.
This worked completely, however I think the ota update file I downloaded was corrupted, as flashing didn't work, it said something about signature verification failed. So I redownloaded it, from the same link, and the new one was bigger. I tried that, and the same error. I tried wiping data/factory reset etc, and I accidentally started to flash a cm7 rom I had on my phone.
I stupidly did a battery pull as it started to flash (the back cover was off already), and now my touchscreen doesn't work. I was able to successfully flash other roms including the 2.3.6 I downloaded, and I couldn't do the first setup procedure (touch the android to begin). I tried cleaning the screen very carefully with 90% isopropyl alcohol, the same stuff I use to replace thermal paste on cpus.
It still doesn't work. I am hoping it is a software issue that can be fixed otherwise I have to return it.
Someone please help
I have used the search function and none of the solutions I found worked.
(UPDATE) I rebooted again, and when the phone booted into cm7, the "internet" icon(the globe picture) on the bottom left of the dock was in the "pressed" state(orange). It was like the phone thought I was holding my finger on it, which suggested a hardware issue. I cleaned it again and nothing changed. Then I held the phone in the landscape position. When the screen rotated, the button stayed pressed. So the phone doesn't think "this part of the screen is being pressed" it thinks "this internet icon" is being pressed. Rotating the phone again and again didn't change anything, the icon was still pressed in.
Defiantly a software issue. I would try to unroot and reroot. Then if it is still not working, try to format the SD card. You may want to considering buying a USB to micro USB adapter to help you, considering then u could plug in a mouse. I have one just in case I need it.
Thank me if any of this helped
Also try and keep this updated with new info. If I can't help, maybe someone else can.
Sent from my XT862 using XDA App
Thanks techno-update, I will try that. I haven't "unrooted" before, Is that just typing fastboot oem lock or whatever it is instead of fastboot oem unlock?
Also, I found a youtube video with the EXACT same problem.
v=zpfE15Xw_os&feature=related
Skip to 3:15, and you will see when he opens the power menu, the phone thinks he is pressing on one of the options, but he isn't.
I will let you know how unrooting and rerooting goes.
Thanks
(UPDATE)
I tried unrooting and then rooting again. It still does the same thing.
Even in cwr I can't use the capacitive buttons to navigate menus, does that rule out software problems? I am really hoping its just a software problem :/
I need my phone for an outing tonight (im in australia, its 5pm now) and I would appreciate it if some genius could solve this
I am usually the "go to fix it IT guy" in my area, but I can't figure this one out. I have tried formatting the phone, reflashing the mod etc.
Is there some more aggressive COMPLETE wipe or something that fully wipes the phone?
UPDATE 2
Guys please help,
I just flashed zulugen mod, as it has the trinity kernel, I don't know much about android os, but I hoped that that might replace the touchscreen driver or something. The rom flashed correctly, but touchscreen and the capacitive buttons still don't work. Please help
Guys, is there some sort of system partition where the touchscreen drivers are kept or something? And when I pulled the battery as it was flashing cm7, it corrupted these?
Is there some way to fix this?
bump
bump. I need help with this urgently. Is it possible the connections for the screen came loose inside? I would crack it open but don't have screwdrivers for the 3 smaller screws on the last layer of plastic before the pc board.
OK so I downloaded & installed the latest OTA update (RV23RC03; 1.057) with the power mode choices, and it has completely destroyed my touch screen response! I previously had ZERO problem with this- every key press registered on both the original ROM and the 1st update. Since the latest update, everything takes 2 or 3 presses, sometimes VERY firmly, many times still without registering. This totally sux
Is anyone else having this issue? I should note that I do have a matte screen protector on; this previously caused NO problems.
Is there an easy reasonably safe way to revert back to the 1st update (RV07RC06; 1.029)? A link and/or instructions appreciated. Thanks.
Acer, are you out there? This exact issue occurred with my A510 on its 1st update, after which it became nearly unusable for me. Since it was < 30 days I was able to return it. No such luck this time. Why are these updates doing this? It's driving me nuts!
No issues with touch on update. It seems to be running better actually.
Try to completely reset thru recovery with wipe data maybe.
More specific instructions

That's so amazing. I went from no problem at all, to I can hardly use this any more; only thing that changed was the update.
Can you please be specific about how to reset through recovery. (Step-by-step if possible) and how to wipe data.
Thanks.
You can reset data thru settings/privacy but you will lose everything and start fresh.
I'll check on the other method later on for you.
Also turn up touch sensitivity in settings/display if you haven't...
Edit - it appears that the stock recovery doesnt have those options.
You can still reset by inside ICS like above, or...
Factory Reset:
WARNING: reset will start immediately
Volume button (one dot) and Power button, once buzzes release power button and then toggle the rotation switch on and off a few times
Yes of course, I have set screen sensitivity to high. I think I'd rather go back to 1st update, rather than wipe everything (I do have a backup but it's still a hassle). I can't believe no one else is having this problem.
Any idea how to revert to last update?
Someone in a german android forum mentioned that it help on his device after the update to set the sensitivity to the lowest setting and then back to middle or high.
I tried playing with sensitivity settings, turning on/off,resetting and no luck.
I actually found the ROM from before the update on this website and flashed it as update.zip with vol +power. It worked, I now have 1.029 back and touch screen works perfectly. I'm sorry to lose power management but i think I'll stay where I am . Don't ask me about a Jellybean update; I'll want it but after this I'll be afraid to try it. If anyone has an explanation for this i'd love to hear it.
Today my keyboard decided to no longer use the I key in default view. This is odd because calibrating the keyboard allowed me to use the I key. After calibration finished, it went back to no longer working. I've cleaned my screen protector, and when pressing I, it "clicks" both the u and o key at the same time. This not only affects the keyboard, but in some other instances will not allow me to click a small icon, such as setting in the drop down menu. I've since done a factory reset and even flashed a new rom to no avail. The only possibility is there is a small half bubble at the top edge near the camera, and will have ghost armour replace it if I cannot find a cause as to why this happened. Any suggestions as what I could try?
What version of Android System Webview are you running?

It's a long shot, I don't know how often you update through GooglePlay, or if you even do... I do know that a version of webview made my phone do the same thing, it had dead spots on the screen but only when my keyboard was up in default SMS. I had the same the problems as you, buttons on the other side of the keyboard were being pressed & it was selecting drop down menus to save the text above, copy, etc... I found out the version of webview I had was bad, I know you did a factory reset, but maybe it restored the same the bad version?!?!? Try updating it if possible, or uninstalling updates for that app. It may just work....
Unfortunately it didn't work. In installed updates and tried freezing with tibu. To no avail. Called HTC and all they want to do is me sending phone in for repair. I don't like this option
What carrier do you have the phone through if any at all??

Yeah, sorry about that, i wouldn't be happy about that either. I was wondering if you had a phone carrier, if so which one. It seems as though you didn't buy it through them since you are in contact with HTC. I know HTC warranties your phone up to a year, but they should send a replacement in the meantime if you have to send it in Good Luck, sorry I couldn't be more help. If you have a phone carrier that you purchased it through such as Verizon, they would replace it right away as they have done for me about twice now:good:
Hi everyone!
Well, now I'm facing the most annoying issue with my Samsung Galaxy Tab E: a bootloop, but happens that I've never attempted, at least not with this single device, to root it, I was just only wanting to play Plants vs Zombies 2 and then all suddenly got paralized, no button worked to leave to another safe place in the tablet so what I did is to use the key combination command: Home, Volume - and Power to force the tablet to reset. It reboot, but after that point the keyboard app didn't pop-up and later was rebooting. I tried to use my physical keyboard to input my blocked screen password, and it worked!, my menu apps and everything as always, but what happened?, yes, another rebooting.
This is the second time that this tablet got freezed bit it's the first time that bootloop occurs.
I really need help. I've tried some methods that I found in YouTube to root and unroot the tablet to its official ROM, like ODIN download mode and emergency firmware restoration from Kies, but nothing has been solved, still bootlooping.
My tablet is good though for me is not the best, and for that I'm pointing the failures that it haves so I may know if anyone else is experimenting them, like desactivate the Samsung keyboard to use instead any other keyboard but somehow that disgusting Samsung keyboard appears to be marked no matter how many time I do unmark it from Language and input options.

Hello.
Since a long time i have a big issue with my rooted s8+.
When i want to long press (tap and hold) on my screen to select a text, sometime it works sometime it doesn't work (it do like i pressed the screen and releases it immediately when it does not work as short press).
Until a few days ago i thought it was a random problem.
But i discovered a few days ago that this problem happens ALL THE TIME when i need to long press on the center of the screen and NEVER HAPPENS when i long press on the top or bottom of the screen.
Now when i want to select a text in the center of the screen, i just have to scroll the text up or down and then the long press works.
Does anybody have the same issue on his s8+?
Is there an app to definitly check this issue that happens only on long press and never on short press ?
How can i fix it?
Thank you for your help
(sorry my english is very bad i hope you have understood my question)
Open up your phone app as if you're going to call someone and dial *#0*#
(Star pound zero star pound)
This will get you into maintenance mode where you can trouble shoot many things. Tap on "touch" and drag finger all over the boxes on the screen in the shape of a rectangle with an X through it. This will allow u to see how your phone is responding to touch. Hope this gives u an idea as to where or if the issue is occurring. If not at least it's a pointer for phone issue trouble shooting.
Cheers!
Thank you for your answer.
I tried that and everything is ok on the touch test.
But after this test i just tried to select something on this page and i have the same issue. When i want to select in the center of the screen the tap and hold is not working.
I scroll a little the page and it is working.
It seem it just don't detect that i hold my finger. But detect normally when i just press with my finger.
I think i should send my phone to Samsung.

I just tried with the page i put a screenshot in attachment to this post.
When i try a tap and hold (i tried several times) on the line "i scroll a little the page..." it does not work ( it just select the word on which i have put my finger but i can not extend the selection and i don't have the icon with copy past etc)
But when i tap and hold on the line starting by "of the screen the tap...." and the line starting with "it seem i just don't detect..." everything is normal.

Here's your troubleshooting steps. Try them each one at a time. If #1 doesn't work, then move on to #2, etc, until it's fixed.
1. Reboot phone
2. Clear cache in recovery
3. Start in Safe Mode
4. Factory Reset
5. Reflash stock, factory firmware with ODIN
If none of those fix the issue, then you will need to reach out to Samsung.

I think most that it would be a hardware problem
But as my phone is rooted i will do all that before sending to samsung as i must install a stock rom before sending to Samsung.
But most of all i wanted to know if other people had also this issue.

The steps I gave you actually eliminate it being a software problem, so it narrows it down to hardware.
Let us know if you're able to fix it, or have to send it to Samsung fie repair.

Than you
I will do that in a few days.
But i just thinked about something.
I just updated my samsung firmware on dec 28. And i had this issue before the update.
When updating, for the root, i installed twrp and have done a complete wipe on twrp before installing magisk. (i still didn't find no way to root without wiping, if there is a way please tell me)
I think i have passed all these steps when i have done the update/root process. Am i right?

I honestly don't know. I don't root. So I don't know the steps. Try them anyway, and if you end up having to do a factory reset, don't restore anything. Start completely fresh.
And installing STOCK UNROOTED firmware with ODIN will eliminate any issues associated with root.

Did you try doing a factory reset? You could try that but it sounds as if it is a hardware issue. Get it in to samsung before warranty runs out. Good luck my friend!
