Because 4.4.1 is 50mb worth of PATCHES -- which replaces data, it doesn't necessarily mean you're going to get a 50mb increase of filesystem usage.
and because to have improvements must have more MB?

Isn't this the logic Microsoft has been using with Windows development for years now?
Hi!
I managed to compile ClockworkMod for GPE.
The main difference is the type of userdata partition. While Moto G 'normal' version uses f2fs as userdata filesystem, Google Play Edition uses ext4 as userdata filesystem. With this recovery you be able to install files from internal memory.

So you don't need to skip modem partition, but need to select fsg partition between fsg_intl.img and fsg_gpe.img.
fsg_gpe is a original dump and fsg_intl is a modified one (by me) to work outside usa, based on fsg_gpe. After change fsg partition remember to erase modemst1 and modemst2.
So , this will work on any device... Single Sim... ??

Hi guys, first time posting here. Hope you can help me out with this.
I just bought a moto g (2013) and it came with android 4.4.2.
Upon launching it said that there's an update to 4.4.4 available. Whenever I try to install it I get an 'unexpected error'
Any ideas what to do?
What model is yours??? Xt1032,xt1033,... Do you try to flash 4.4.4 from fastboot mode???

I'm failing to perform the OTA update, is there a better way to do it?
Hi,
I have the same problem, I just got the phone and it just won't update from 4.2, it always says "unexpected error. try again later". I also have the XT1032.

That's what I ultimately did, it just didn't work over OTA.
How can I flash 4.4.4?
Can I do it on unrooted device? I have the same problem. Bought new moto g and cant update it OTA - installation error. Am i going to loose warranty when i do that?

Download an app from the Google Play Store called "Secret Phone Info', it's made by Creative Collective, LLC.. After you downloaded it open it and tap "Hidden Menus" and then tap the very first 1 at the top called "Universal Menu" and then you'll be able to get into the phones settings to change that stuff but be careful what you do with it..

I only gave it so you could get into the setting to change the Internet nothing else on it works yet but the universal menu for now... root not required. You should be able to see this... "Set preferred network type"..

Marshmallow at first was bad on the battery I was only getting about 3 to 4 hours screen on time before I had to go and charge it again but I have since found out that if you do a full factory reset so there's nothing on the phone before accepting the update that it fixes the battery problems for some reason and right now I'm getting between 9 to 12 hours screen on time and the phone is a lot better now after disabling all the bloatware. You should be fine using Odin on Windows to flash the latest Marshmallow 6.0.1 version with no problems.

Make sure to make a backup first using Smart-Switch that you can download on Windows that way after you update you can reconnect to Windows and tap restore and it will put all your stuff back! Make sure you have the stock firmware for OJ3 too just in case! My guide here will give you an idea of what you have to do.

Greetings again, I have flashed by Flashtool the factory version of android 4.4.4 and nothing, I have mounted lollilop 5.1 and 6.0.1 and the problem persists .. What I find strange is that when I turn on the phone the fault does not appear , Only when I enter the android desktop ... I am thinking of unlocking the Bootloader because some suggest that it may be the Kernel ... Do you know anything about it ?.

Hi! The last chance is to flash a custom kernels for your model. If this won't help, then I have no idea how to fix it. Maybe it's hardware problem?
Well, in any case I appreciate your help and I hope some other member gives us a hand with this theme
