This is regarding my nexus 5, I have been facing some serious heating issues with it,I am running android 5.0 rooted and elementalx kernel.
Would be helpful if someone could help fixing this.
Same thing happens on stock rom and kernel? Possible defective battery? When did the issue start?
Since I've switched back to stock ROM along with elemntalx kernel the device heats up over WiFi and 3G.Do you think it could be due to the stock ROM or the combination of stock ROM and the elemental kernel?
I would think it is the kernel that is the issue. I use stock mm on mine and no problems with heat.

Hi,
I have problems with my tablet. I used modified kernel and now I have performance issues, so I want to revert back. I have CWM and rooted device. I want to get my stock kernel. Im using latest firmware version.
Whats my problem? I dont have stock kernel anymore. Is there any chance getting tablet back alive?
Thanks in forward.

also sultan's 3.0 kernel rom has Screen on Battery Drain problem?
He wrote 3.4 kernel has this problem. So i also wonder, is it better than viper roms?
and what is the adventages or disadvantages over 3.4 ? Thank you.
Nobody used both rom?
No answer till now. are there anyone used both roms?
Hi guys. I've been following both the android and original android development sections of the OPO forum and have found no kernel that can overclock the OnePlus One running stock (rooted and BL unlocked) CM11s.
So, my question is very simple: is there any kernel that overclocks CM11s? (Yes, i know it is plenty fast already, the only purpose i have for it is bragging rights at the bar TBFH and to see how far it can go)
There is currently no custom kernel with overclocking features that will boot on CM11S.
If you really want it then you can go and flash a custom ROM and flash a kernel such as ak kernel which does have overclocking up to 2880MHz.
Do not flash ak kernel while on 11S, your phone will not boot.

Thank you for you answer. Yes, I realize it wont boot on CM11S. infact, that is the first warning you read upon seeing the kernel.
I guess I will have to wait, since I think CM11S is by far the best ROM for the OnePlus... I had already installed 5 different roms on it and flashed furnace kernel only to see no difference in benchmarks (i think it's because it throttles, even though i stuck it in the cooler)

Benchmarks mean absolutely nothing. Its all about day-to-day performance. Custom ROMs are better in my opinion because currently on 11S there are numerous crucial bugs that are affecting the phone from being used. Just to name some,
- In-call audio volume fixed.
- Some workarounds on the touchscreen problem.
... the list goes on and on but I don't feel like explaining all of them but custom ROMs offer a lot more features than what stock has to offer plus they give you a sneak preview of whats to come in the next OTA without having to wait for it.
The decision is up to you, they're all free after all. Thats the joy of custom ROMs and kernels
The first touch screen issue fix was rolled out with Nightly 20150715-NIGHTLY version, which solved the issue, but had battery drain and heating issues. Then they removed the synaptic fix in 20150718-NIGHTLY update. Later they cam up with fix again with 20150721-NIGHTLY update, where the battery drain was less.
Then the fix was released with AK V-246 (http://http://ak.hiddenbytes.org/) and FrancoR43 Kernels, also Boeffla Kernel (3.0beta3) (For Oxygen OS users ONLY).
After that, god's grace, we got Official Oxygen synaptic fix, where there was less battery drain and heating issue. And then we got finally YNG1TAS2I3, where seems like everything is fixed.
So, now if I flash any other ROMs than these two stocks, how I can fix my touch issues. ROMs flashing over NIGHTLY will have the fix came along with 20150721-NIGHTLY, but what if I want to flash other ROMs like MIUI or COLOR OS or any other which can not be flashed over NIGHTLY? Are there any Kernels which got best fix over this issues, which got the similar Touch fix as in stock CM12 latest update?
All of the cusom CM12 & CM12.1 kernels have this fix. Unfortunately not sure about MIUI and KK Roms in general.
I noticed some strange behaviours these last days on my rooted mi4i.
Sometimes when i get a notification and i try to wake the phone from standby it takes forever or I find out that it shut down all by himself.
Someone know what could cause this?

i had experienced something like this with custom kernel and custom rom.

clean install again without custom kernel
The problem is that I've never flashed a custom from neither a custom kernel.
Now I've unrooted the phone and it's not happening, but I'd like go know what it's the source of the problem.
Same problem happened to me
