Dear XDA Community,
I'm trying to revive an M2. The user of it told me it just suddenly stopped working while watching a YouTube video, and she couldn't turn it on since then. The phone literally looks dead. No signs at all, except one: The phone was first seen in Device Manager as "QHSUSB_BULK" (with an exclamation mark), then I installed the Flashtool drivers and it's now recognized as a "SOMC Flash Device". That's all.
I have tried to recognize the phone with Sony PC Companion, Emma, and the Sony Mobile Flasher by Androxyde (found the program as "flashtool-0.9.19.8"). None of them could detect the phone as a phone, except the last one mentioned (flashtool-0.9.19.8), but it just kinda detects it halfway.
Here's the log it gives:
30/040/2016 18:40:01 - INFO - Device connected with USB debugging off
30/040/2016 18:40:01 - INFO - For 2011 devices line, be sure you are not in MTP mode
When I try to access it with fastboot mode, and press the "Check current device status" button, I get this:
30/040/2016 18:40:33 - INFO - Device Status: NOT FOUND
I also tried booting the phone into fastboot mode (holding volume up and power button, but nothing happens at all).
Is there any hope to fix it?
Thank you in advance!
If it's recognised as a somc flash device it should be salvageable, leave it charging overnight(at least this way you know the battery should be fully charged) and try unistalling then reinstalling Sony pcc and connect the M2(this should install the drivers) if you can get it to recognise the device a software repair should be possible if it's a stock device. Try having a read through this thread it may be of some help...
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1849170
I've tried the things you mentioned, but it's still the same. Sony PCC just tries to detect the phone and says I need a newer version of PCC, but when I check the updates, it says the latest version is installed. Perhaps I have to drain the battery to zero so the chips will be reset?
I'm done with unplugging the battery from it's mainboard, but nothing happens. The led isn't lighting up in any case at all.
Any update on this issue? I have also the same problem.

Have you solved it?
If not, have you tried normal fastboot using CMD?
- Download ADB with Fastboot files (there are somewhere on forum or search for it in google)
- Connect the device while holding volume up button
- If the blue light goes on, it should work (otherwise try in console "fastboot devices")
Sent from my Xperia M2 using Tapatalk
@Th3 Ant I tried also this. It doesn't detect my device for any reason. If you uninstall the Somc driver it detects it as qhsusb_bulk. I think the problem is with the boot partition - maybe it is corrupted. But there is no way to do this since I am not able to get either to fastboot or flash mode

Is there update on this . Help me to fix my Xperia S . Same problem .
If fastboot and flash mode aren't working, there's no hope.

Try these steps, but first without opening your device.

I could save my Bricked Z1 (detected with Code 43 and yellow warning sign) like this:
1. Press and hold Vol UP + Power with USB connected for more than 1min.
2. If device is detected as SOMC Flash Device i followed the unbrick steps frome the Thread above
3. Repair with PC Companion

I have two factory unlocked Xperia ray (so-03c)
Recently i upgraded one of them to the latest firmware using "sony bridge for mac". Just after upgrade; phone stopped showing any cellular networks; everything including wifi was working smoothly. I tried switching different modes GSM, WCDMS and WCDMA/GSM; it didn't work out for cellular. (I used to have Galaxy Ace, so tried if Android boot recovery would work out; but didn't found anyway in xperia).
I wanted to repair the phone using option in "Sony Bridge for Mac" again. Before proceeding; I did a factory reset then using the settings in the phone. Bridge didn't recognise my phone; Then I found some tutorial for doing reset in the web; And; Pressed Power and Volume Down for about 20 seconds; it vibrated 3-4 times.
Tried to open the phone; it just kept looping in the boot screen
I cant connect it to flashtool, bridge for recovery; Even tried in PC Companion. it detects my phone; but when I want to go to repair; it wont proceed as i cant take the phone to recovery mode. holding volume down and connecting Usb does not do anything
I would be happy if there is any way of recovering this device and i can restore to an earlier firmware; which is intact in the other phone.

I think there is a fastboot mode way for recovering a device. I search on google and I found a topic about recovering an Optimus One P500 by fastboot, maybe it will work for your device too...

Yes I tried in windows and mac both:
used Pc companion, Update Service, Bridge for mac; Tried flashtool (with black logo); Sony's Emma flashtool wont show device.
Bridge for mac reads device but asks to connect again enabling memory card.
Installed Android developer sdk; but the device didnt go to the flashboot mode. when it connects to usb; it shows charging; wont loop; When i open it, it stays on a loop.

You might want to download any Official FTF file for Xperia Ray, then try to flash this on the phone before trying other custom ROMs

I do have original ftf file.
The problem is I cant take my phone either in flashboot mode or the recovery mode; When i press volume down or up and connect usb; it goes to charging mode. When i open it normally; t goes to boot loop.
I have the Xperia L (C2105) with latest firmware (.14 not .17 because in my country for some reason .17 is not yet available).\
I am trying to connect into flashmode but I can't.
Phone is accessible throuh Sony PC Companion. When I plug it Windows (7) recognize it .
I am trying with SUS but with no luck.
This is what I do.
(usb cable is plugged into PC)
1. Switch off phone completely. Screen goes black and phone does not respond.
2. Press and hold volume down
3. Insert usb into phone slot.
nothing happens.
I guess I should see led goes green, or phone switching on, or PC showing a pop-up dialog? In any case phone remains off and SUS can't go on to the next step after connection. Is there any problem with the phone?
PS: I also tried factory reset.
Any help would be appreciated.
OK, I managed to connect in flashmode. What I do is press once or twice the power switch while holding volume down.
Isn't it weird?

Okay, I think i've a similar problem. I cannot connect my device in flashmode. WHenver i try to do, the led just blinks red and then green, then nothing happens. Could you please elaborate how you managed it?
Hi, to be honest, I can't remember. This phone was one of the worst phones I 've ever owned. Camera was blurry, mic was not working. I didn't even bother to fix it. I threw it to the recycle bin. And I always take good care of my gadgets. That phone was the reason not to buy a Sony phone ever again. I now own a LG G2 and I am perfectly happy.
Anyway, I think I remember trying many times until it finally connected. I did various things, but the actual reason it finally connected was luck. Yes, luck. Try it many times and if you are lucky enough, you will manage connection. Or give it to someone else and buy a proper phone.

First power off the phone.
Then continuously press volume down button while connecting the USB cable to the phone.
(as i remember the phone led color may turned green when it's in flashmode)
Then check 'Flashtool' log, it will be saying 'device connected in flashmode'.
happy flashing.

Exactly, if you see red, green and then nothing, it means your device is in flashmode. Open up flashtool and get flashing! It will say device connected in flashmode

The flashtool doesn't detect my phone even after the led blinks. But if i connect the same phone to same computer through same usb cable in fastboot, the flashtool says device connected in fastboot. Nothing when in flashmode.

Driver issue. In the folder of flashtool, you'll find a sub folder called Drivers, run the file in it and select flashmode drivers and Common Drivers for taoshan. In Device Manager, your device may be listed as S1 Boot service or something. Update device driver to SEMC Flash device which should be under Sony Entertainment Mobile Communications, in all devices.

Thank you so much bro, for all your help. I really appreciate it. I have flashed stock rom hundreds of times over the span of 3 years (yeah i bought the phone as soon as it was released into the market and unlocked the bootloader soon after). So I think I would have know if it was a driver problem. But it's not. It's all about secondary bootloader which I screwed up while installing TWRP into the FOTAKernel partition (which I did not backup the original). For more info, check the link below

Hmm, that's new. I didn't think such a thing could happen. Thanks mate!
ok the story is...
A friend of mine owns (or owned right now) an ONE SV LTE the k2_ul variant
i dont know what she did but right now in my hands i have a phone that i cannot actually do things to help her out apart from gettin to bootloader...
she probably did clear storage or something like that and the phone has gone dead..
My problem is that i am not able to connect the phone to my PC as when it;s connected in my win 8.1 PC shows under the Android devices section as My HTC with a triangle... i cant seem to get adb to work due to that and well.... dunno what to do...
any ideas?
sometimes when i get into bootloader and select recovery i sort of get into somewhere and at this moment my pc sees the device as Portable device (F:\)
on normal boot up i end up into a black screen (and a dead phone apparently)
um... and i also cant see the phone at alla on a USB2 port but only on USB3 which i do believe is an issue as well...
please heeeeeelp
(ok i admit it she is way too hot)
Have you tried fastboot commands in bootloader (fastboot mode)?
Try and install latest HTC Sync, this will bring all drivers needed (after that you can uninstall the software, but not the driver which will show up seperately from the software).
You should be able to see the serial number of the phone, after fastboot cmd:
fastboot devices
My main issue is that that the phone is recognised in the computer's device manager as problematic ....

Well, then you need to find out, if there are drivers which can solve this.
Maybe try another pc (Win 7).
Hi,
I have tried booting into flashmode > 20 times now, but can't get it to work.
I am doing the following:
- Disconnect USB-Cable
- Poweroff Phone
- Press Volume Down Button
- Connect USB-Cable
Now the LED blinds red/green very quickly, but then the phone just boots normally, beginning with the white screen with the Sony Logo and the Xperia Logo. If I keep holding the Volume Down Button, it boots into safe mode.
Any ideas what I may be doing wrong going into flashmode? Is there another way to get into flashmode?
The device is encrypted, maybe that has something to do with it?
Is it at all possible that this is because of a missing driver? I did install the flashmode driver using flashtool.
Thanks
Yannik
It does sound like a driver issue.
Make sure you have the Latest version of Flashtool installed, and try the driver installer again.
On your phone, in Developer options (enabled in the Settings main menu by going to Settings > About phone > and tapping Build number 7 times) , make sure you have USB debugging turned on, and I also allow mock locations. You must have Unknown Sources ticked in Security settings too.
I have successfully flashed mine this way.
Before you start Flashtool, turn the phone off, hold volume down, and plug in the USB lead to your computer. The LED on the phone should turn a solid green. The computer should sort out the drivers itself.
If you're above Windows 7 then there are other things you have to do to get the drivers to install properly, or so I've heard, but I don't know for sure as I refuse to leave 7 behind. I hate the tiles in Windows 8, and I guess in 10 too.
Once that's done, you're good to go with Flashtool.
Guessing the encryption has something to do with it.
It actually seems to have been some kind of driver issue.
The flashtool drivers are installed (activated the non-signed driver installation), as well as the sony pc companion software. Unfortunately, I could not resolve this issue and get flashmode to work on Windows 8.1 x64.
However, flashmode did work (without any driver installation!) on a Linux Mint system.

Have you booted Windows in “Disable driver signature enforcement” mode?
From: http://www.xperiablog.net/2015/03/1...peria-lollipop-using-xperifirm-and-flashtool/
Note: To install the Flashtool drivers for Windows 8/Windows 8.1, please follow the steps below.
1) Press the Windows key + R and in the run box type: shutdown.exe /r /o /f /t 00
– Now make the following selections to boot into the Start Up Setting Screen: Troubleshoot > Advanced options > Start Up Settings > Restart
– Then, when the machine restarts, select number 7 i.e. “Disable driver signature enforcement”. Your machine will start with Driver signing enforcement disabled until the next reboot.
2) Now you can install the Flashtool drivers.
– Windows will warn that the driver is not signed and will require you to confirm the installation.
– Once the installation is complete, reboot the machine

Haha I forgot that you need USB debugging and unknown source on, when I did flash with flashtool it stops half way saying USB debugging and unknown source to be turn on, kinda soft bricked my phone had to repair with pc companion oooops
mine just turns green for a fraction of a second and then boots, while flashtool tells me i should be in usb debugging mode, even thought it is set as such from the dev options.
Any suggestions? I keep the vol down button pressed until about 1 second after plugging the cable. i tried even for a longer period, the led turns green for half a second and then nothing.

Driver
In my case, it doesn't show up the driver for Xperia Z5, just until the Z3, not even for Z3+, and I dont know where to find the correct driver for Z5, and I have downloaded the lastest version of Flashtool.
Does anyone know what can I do?
I've got the same problem as yours. I wanted to debrand my xperia z5, I created the ftf file to flash with flashtool but I can't get the flash mode... going in the flashtool download page I've noticed that it says: 0.9.19.0 was valid for ZL,Z1,Z2,Z3,Z3c,Z3+/Z4,Z4Tablet,E4,E4G,M2,M4 because of new FSC feature added --> our device doesn't appear in the list so I think we have to wait for a little. It's my opinion...sorry for my bad english, I'll stay tuned for further information
Flashtool latest version is 0.9.19.10 and does support Z5 once you patch x10flasher.jar:
http://www.flashtool.net/downloads.php
To apply the 0.9.19.10 patch, you must be on 0.9.19.2, 0.9.19.3, 0.9.19.4, 0.9.19.5, 0.9.19.6, 0.9.19.7, 0.9.19.8 or 0.9.19.9 and replace x10flasher.jar with the one from the patch.

Install Sony PC Companion and connect your Z5. Normally drivers should be installed now. There not included in Flashtool yet.
anyway I wanted to flash a stock firmware (since I'm branded). I've downloaded the firmware, created the ftf file with flashtool, downloaded the drivers ( with pc companion and also with the .exe inside the flashtool directory) but wen it asks for holding the volume down and plug the device it boots (as the problem the others has). Any Ideas? I've tried to hold the volume up and then plug the phone but it doesn't work, flashtool don't start the process
try flashing on a linux system.
I'll try (I have to find a pc running linux first) but I think that should be a problem of the device, I maen the buttons combinations seems inappropriated on this terminal since it restarts...It's my honest opinion (and I seize the moment to remember you of my bad english)
I had the same problem, for me trying it from linux (you can dual boot) fixed the problem. Must have been a problem with my windows installation.
Do you suggest to full wipe or not?
I didn't perform a full wipe and didn't have any problems.
Kindly Help me,

I have TA backup from Flash Tool ( ie T1 and T2 ) before flashing in case of Partition break, where as
