hi!
recently my Mi 4i front camera has started behaving abnormally. the front camera display becomes very very hazy with a lot of red/pink grains on the screen making the front camera totally unusable. but the rear camera works just fine. i tried visiting MIUI official forum on the Xiaomi site, where other users too had reported the same problem. but no solution was available either from Xiaomi or the user community.
can someone here pls guide & help me in resolving this issue.
thanks in anticipation
Try flash stock via fastboot.

thanks @Hackerpunk1; i downgraded th MIUI from v 7.1.1 to v 7.0.3, but with no effect. i further flashed it with the original stock ROM for Mi 4i (MIUI v 6.6.10.0 (LXIMICF)) downloaded from Xiaomi website, but still no luck.
i have observed that in bright light / daytime, the haziness is gradual and slow, but in low light conditions, it almost immediately covers the entire screen.
i am suspecting now it to be a hardware issue. am i correct?
It seems to be the hardware.
I have same problem...still no method to solve...may be cured using custom kernel?

Hi everyone, I am having a very peculiar issue.
I thought my accelerometer was broken but it seems to pass the test normally (SensorBox).
However, as soon as I boot NOTHING rotates. Well the only thing that rotates (along with the in-app buttons) is my camera and a few racing games which use the accelerometer anyway to steer. But anything else does not, not even videos or photos.
I have tried switching ROMS, I've went from Stock Debloated to -> Complete Stock with no effect.
I spoke with a Motorola Service representative who helped me run some tests but they said they wouldn't touch the device because the Bootloader is unlocked.
Could anyone shed some light? Any ideas?
Details:
Model: Motorola Moto X Play
Kernel: Currently Squid r18 (but also tried Stock)
ROM: iniro_mxp_6.0.1_v1.2
Thank you in advance! :good:
PS: I have researched the previous posts AND google but no one seems to have this issue. I have edited all my settings to no avail.

Greetings and welcome to assist. If you retrurn to complete stock does the issue go away ? I know on samsung devices removing facebook from the rom breaks auto rotate on the phone due to the removal of a lib. I suspect it is something similar here
Good Luck

Thank you for your prompt reply. Unfortunately that doesn't solve the problem. Even with a clean flash the problem persists.

So stock kernel and stock rom it still persists ? I don't know much about your device but it could be the bootloader being unlocked I guess

So I tried a couple of roms. The issue seems to be isolated only in stock based roms, as rotation works fine in AospExtended ROM V1.2. Any guess as to why this might be happening?

All I can think of is its a bug in the stock firmware if this is only when it happens
Hey all. So I read about a camera ported from p20 pro for Kirin 659. Since 655 is similar I decided to give it a shot. After flashing via Magisk it didn't work. Also I didn't have any of my other modules. So I uninstalled and no camera. Reinstalled and same. After several things the end result is that I don't have stock camera. I would really like the p20 cmaera so I don't know what I am doing ROM. Anyway I plan to reflash entire Firmware when beta 4 for RROS comes out so I hope I don't lose camera. As of now I have RROS ROM without stock app and now would like to install the p20 port. Any help is nice. Thanks!!

I had the same problem with my new, original Google Pixel 3. It was a irreparable hardware fault. Seems that it is a common error of these devices.
Send it back and get a new one under warranty.

Sensor issue after flashing Android 10 isn't a hardware issue.
Fix is here https://forum.xda-developers.com/pixel-3-xl/how-to/android-10-sensors-bug-t3964904
I had installed EU 12.0.4.0 ROM. but it was laggy and frozed few times while in the homescreen. camera focus is also not good enough.
1) now my question is, is it natural or is there any bug in the rom or i had installed it in a wrong way?
2) Can i flash miui 11.0.11.0 (Indian rom for poco x2) on k30?
3) if possible what is the process? cz i already tried but i could not.
Thanks a lot for helping me out. <3

i have been using the eu build since past few days.. i noticed a bit lag after restarting the phone. sometimes the frame rate drops but most of the times it is close to 120. I didn't noticed any other major bug with cameras or anything.
2. what was your previously installed build?
Thanks for sharing your experience. my previous build was MIUI 12.0.3.0 (China)
Thank you. it was miui12.0.3.0 china rom

as far as i know you won't be able to go back to indain 11.0.11.
Actually, the miui was so great till miui 10,but after miui 11 the device is getting degraded in its performance,i faced a lot of issues especially battery drainage issue in Miui 12 so i just moved to COrvus OS 8.0.
It really made my device a beast, just feel like a gaming device which is much smoother than NORD.
Hey guys, hope everyone's doing well I'm currently using pixel extended rom which is great but I'm unable to use my 48 mp camera slow motion and all the other goodies that came along with stock camera, Gcam can only help me in pictures and videos which i admit is the most use but sometimes i do need those extra goodies that were present in my stock camera. Can someone please port that camera for custom roms.
I hope someone responds to my request
Having the same issue I searched everywhere and somehow stumbled on your post. Thought you might get a solution if so please let me know.. if not I am hoping some one would help us.

Porting stock camera to custom rom is next to impossible as stated by one of the developers of the riceDroid custom rom! Either use GCAM which is almost stable and good to use or you can always go back to realme ui.

Apologies if I sound kinda dumb, but how do I get back to Realme UI, I'm currently on CorvusOS, and I have the same camera issue, can I just directly flash the ozip file in Orangefox or is there some other method to do it ?

I have actually read somewhere that there is a flashable file of RUI which you can flash through custom recovery and after flashing, it will remove your custom recovery and install RUI stock recovery and stock ROM. But I have no idea up to what extent it will work like will our bootloader be locked again or not. But there is a process to go back.
