Ok after many emails back and forth with my Chinese phone provider Etotalk.com they now tell me that my Honor 6 plus can only understand Chinese language when using Google App ok google, show me a map of London etc.
Is this right as I would have thought Google would be doing the voice recognition?
Any thoughts!

I want to first say that I love the google voice search, when searching the web, the voice to text is excellent. Probably the 'killer app' for me on my phone. My question is why cant i get a simple thing such as Call Tom Jones at Home to work?
I say that & I the phone starts dialing some random person not in my phone book, it literally starts dialing some random company.
Considering how accurate it is on other areas of my phone, I dont get why this doesnt work.
I am using MS exchange & the built in email app, so my contacts are in the google contact app. I am also using CM 6.1 if that matters.
Any ideas would be great!
Thanks,
Rich
I have the same question, anybody could help?
I'm moving outside of the US and looking for the best alternative to still be able to communicate with my family and friends by still keeping my US number. I could just transfer my number to Google Voice and that's how I would text/call correct?
You have to keep in mind that Google Voice does not work from everywhere in the world.

I'm just trying to make it easier for friends and family, rather having them needing to download another app.
Noticed that Pixel assistant is different to Allo assistant.
For instance you can't subscribe to anything using Pixel Assistant?
Maybe it's just me but seems strange having two.
Yeah I'm noticing different results for the same inquiries, or things that one can do but the other can't. Google has a confused approach to a few things on this phone.
There's four ways to get to google. The traditional predictive search, proactive google now, the voice assistant, and the chat assistant. And the chat assistant only exists within Allo, their IM app. Well besides Hangouts, which also does SMS. Even though they also have an SMS app. Actually, two SMS apps if you have a Verizon SIM. Four messaging apps, three capable of SMS, two capable of IM, but only one has Assistant. All preloaded.
Does that make sense to anyone?
I'm on EML-AL00. My P20 came straight from China, and there are multiple Chinese/Huawei bloatwares. Most of them aren't too intrusive, but this Chinese voice assistance completely takes over Google assistance.
Whenever I swipe up from the bottom edge, the chinese voice assistance app is launched. The app cannot be disabled.
Any idea how I can inhibit this app and not make it pop up??
Also, when ever I'm clicking through links (eg instagram linking to a link.), weibo automatically opens up first. Why is this???
Hello !
Can you set Google calendar events, or answer to messages through voice on your Galaxy watch 4?
Even take notes or ask for a Google web search like about any subject, asking for a shop working hours, etc... and get answered by voice or text?
I read there's a Go version of Google search that is easily installable. What is lacking compared to Google assistant?
See https://forum.xda-developers.com/t/google-assistant-on-watch-4-wear-os.4337733/
I saw that thread but I understood that Google voice assistant was not working really well as of today.
So I was wondering what was possible today with the stock voice assistant? (I am considering buying the watch).

You are then asking about "Bixby":
You can do texts and Email (if I remember correctly).
Not sure about calendar, but I think not.
You can't really do any searches or questions. All it will typically do is say "see phone" This is the biggest letdown.
