Does anyone have a problem with their mobile data sometimes not working? For example sometimes when I launch Google maps and go to search it will say "cannot connect to Google maps, try again later." I then have to close and reopen the app a few times before it connects. This also happens to my reddit app where I have to refresh a few times before it detects I have a connection.
I'm currently in the US on t-mobile. I tested and have received this problem with stamina mode on and off.
Try it in safe mode, hold the power off menu to reboot in safe mode.
I have had similar issues on .200 firmware, especially with the Facebook app. I don't recall having the same problem on the .152 firmware.
Do you have the same problem with the Facebook app?

I don't have the Facebook app installed.
This connectivity issue happens regardless of how many bars of reception I have. It could show full bars and the 4g sign and it will still happen.

I can't connect to Google play store/Gmail or Google Now on my nexus 5 via Wifi. None of the older topics about the same problem helped. It seems to work on my mobile network. It started completely randomly, the only thing i installed was Lookout security (but i'm not sure if it started after that) Then i uninstalled it, but it did not work as well. I had stock unlocked Nexus 5, was planning on installing cyanogenmod so this was a perfect chance to do so, and get a fix to the problem. Surprisingly, even unlocking, rooting, installing CM did NOT solve the problem.
Google play says no connection
Google Now says sing in error
Gmail says no connection
Google+ is working though.
Since even installing custom ROM did not help, you can be sure i already tried clearing the caches/data and all of the simple steps.
Any ideas?
You said that you can't connect on wifi, so I assume that you can do so on your mobile data connection?

Yes everything works on mobile connection, only my google play installed apps list seems to be constantly loading without showing my apps.
Google now, gmail, everything works on mobile. Other family members on the same wifi don't have any problems accessing their apps.
I fixed the problem in case anyone else gonna have the same issue try this: open your wifi settings, hold on your current wifi connection, select modify, check show advanced options and select proxy to "none"
Hello! I flashed the stock image two days ago, as I was not part of the initial wave. Everything seems to be working great, but with one exception. When connected to wifi, anything that must pull information from the web has major lag. For example, opening facebook (or facebook messenger), or instagram, or twitter. You get the idea. Opening facebook messenger, for instance, takes around 9 seconds to load a conversation.
I did a ping test through my phone, using google.com, and found that it took around 9100 ms.
If I disconnect from wifi, which switches me to LTE, this issue disappears.
Switching from wireless 2.4 ghz to 5 ghz makes no difference.
While I have found bug reports about problems connecting to wifi, I haven't really found anyone with this specific issue. If anyone has any thoughts, I would greatly appreciate them.
Update:
Speed test shows that my wifi connection is running at normal pace. Ping test showed a delay, so I am assuming that is where the problem is. This problem does not occur on any other of my devices using my wlan.
I'm experiencing the same thing, unsure of what's going on. Facebook is so sluggish and everything else I do on the Internet seems to be so slow...
Same for me
I am also having issues with WIFI on Lollipop. I always seem to be connected to the network but when I open apps that use the internet connection, it takes forever to load. Facebook, Instagram, Twitter and other mainstream apps are having a real hard time loading images
I am having the same problem.
Weird thing is that I was at a different location today and used the wifi there without any problems. Didn't have time to figure out what was different with their network configuration.
Same problem here.. both on my phone and my wife's. If anyone here hears of a solution... please post back.
Fixed

Actually... I fixed this.. I have a D-Link-655 Router.. I had a firmware from 2012 on it.. I updated to the latest from 2013 and I no longer have problems with wifi-lag on mine or my wife's phones with Lollipop. Something to consider before fussing with IPv6 settings.
Constantly, I get a 'failed to connect' bug on:-
Facebook
XDA
Spotify
Rarely chrome
Gmail
- and any app that uses the internet for a prolonged peroid of time. (Especially annoying on chromecast)
Even with wifi and 4g switched on, i sometimes get the annoying 'unable to connect' message until i close the app and start again.
I've slithered around the net, I've found similar posts with mixed responses and fixes that all fail to work. - I even went to restoring my S7 and using it with stock settings for a week just to ensure it wasn't any misconfig'd settings, or power saving settings, but sadly the ONLY improvement is that spotify doesn't DC anymore.
Has anyone having these issues with marshmallow come across a fix?
I have a OnePlus 2, and when i connect to my wifi network (also tried in a few different places like coffee shops etc - same problem) the speed is around 0.5mbps (measured by speedtest app, browsing, downloading etc), with any other device in my home i get around 50mbps. The signal is great, it connects normally, everything ok except speed. BUT, sometimes (extreamly rare) when I connect to my wifi the speed is normal (50mbps) and it stays that way until I disconnect and connect again...then I drops to 0.5mbps.
Things I tried:
Tried using static ip, and any other setting available in wifi settings.
Tried wiping cache/dalvik, factory reset, format internal storage.
Tried downgrading to lollipop, also flashing custom roms cm13/cm14/exodus/hydrogenos and also custom kernels.
Nothing above solved my issue, the problem was always the same. It's not router releated, because I tried connecting to different ones, same thing. Any advice?
Thank you in advance!

There is very little on the device that would cause this because your data speed is more controlled by the network you're connected to than by the device.
More than likely, it's something running in the background tying up your data connection, probably google play services and the playstore checking for updates. If you're using Facebook app, Facebook messenger, WhatsApp, Kik, Snapchat or any of the other social media/texting apps, they also tie up your data connection scanning for notifications and updates.

I was thinking the same, but then I did a factory reset, 0 apps installed and same speed... I tried connecting to different wifi networks in different places...same speed :/
EDIT: and as I said above, in extreamly rare cases when I connect- it works...then if I disconnect and reconnect again I get the same speed issue (doesn't matter if I do this in an hour or 5 hours)

You Stoll have google play services and google playstore after the reset, if you'll read around a little while, you'll see that the updated google play services causes slow data, battery drain and heating issues because its constantly scanning network, sane for playstore.

I have this problem for over a month... also I have an galaxy s6, xperia m, lg g2 mini...all apps updated, and never had this issue.
Hi.
I noticed that after being connected via WiFi for a longer time, e.g. during work at the office and then when I go out of WiFi range and phone switches to mobile data some apps don't seem to be able to receive mobile data or don't see the connection at all. E g. Waze (shows "waiting for network") and OnePlus community app can't read contents. Chrome browser works without issues at the same time.
Only reboot fixes it.
Anybody experiencing similar issues?
Not sure how related it is, but I was having problem with my vpn. When I got off wifi it would not automatically connect and apps wouldn't have data, there were some other symptoms that I don't remember now. Anyway going to developer settings and turning on mobile data always active fixed the problem for me, might be worth a shot.
Same here

Yeap, I use nordvpn, ones I leave my house using wifi and vpn, I loose data when switching to lte.
I don't have this problem with my op6.
Thanks for your input. So it looks like it would maybe be worth it posting about this issue in the OnePlus support forum.
I just noticed default 4G network mode is not the one I used to have on all my previous devices. (See attached picture). I'll try to switch to LTE Global and will be checking whether it changes anything.
