2. Twrp recovery

3. Supersu

Simply you must unlock bootloader flash custom twrp recovery and through recovery flash supersu. Is there no one experienced developer bought this phone. ? Because we are lacking custom rom only.
I use moto g 2014 flash all mm roms,
Moto x play flash available mm roms, ijust bought 2 days back , within a day i unlocked bootloader, flash twrp, root , install xposed framework but not able to flash custom rom ,if any developer bought this phone kindly start any android development to this nice phone, please.

Anyone had any success with root on Moto G 4G XT1039? Haven't tried it myself, as I am unsure what to do, especially with no stock rom or custom recovery available as far as I am aware. A little hesitant to try it without advice. About to try the following:
1. Unlock bootloader via Motorola Website
2. Fastboot flash boot recovery (XT1032)
3. Flash SuperSU
Hello,
I'm new here and will follow this with great interest. I'm about to receive mine, supposed to be a XT1039 too.
Keep up.

3. Flash SuperSU

From what I've read, there is no 100% working recovery for the xt1039 - I *booted* from the xt1045 recovery to install the SuperSU.zip, and it worked absolutely fine on my xt1039. Just run "fastboot boot recovery recovery.img"
have you came across this thread? the custom recovery won't work but you will be rooted...

Hello everyone,
My phone got OTA Lolipop 5..0.2 update some time ago and i was looking for a guide how to flash custom recovery and root the phone but there are so many different topics and different versions and so on .. could someone provide me with correct link?
I want to root my phone so as i understand i need to unlock my bootloader (already did it), then flash custom recovery and superSU.
Is there any working guide for Lolipop stock ROM? What recovery, superSU ver. should i flash and where should i get them? Thanks.
Hi, I would like to know if it is possible to successfully install xposed on Moto Gs without having a custom recovery installed. I'm asking for this because I don't want to mess too much with my phone and to keep it as clean as possible.
Thank you
Moto G XT1032

Bootloader unlocked
As far as I know there's no possibility to install xposed for Lollipop without custom recovery. But I don't understand why you don't want to flash a recovery when you have already "messed" your device with unlocked bootloader and root! It is just one step forward.

Well the bootloader can be locked again and the root can be removed as well. Maybe custom recovery too?
Alternatively, can the custom recovery be flashed temporary to then flash xposed?
But even if you lock it again motorola already knows it and when you lock it again it will show a different code from the original locked one
You can temporarily boot into a custom recovery and install xposed.
Just type fastboot boot <thenameoftherecovery>
Ok so I have a noob question. I have a boost mobile moto g 2013 xt1031 running lolli 5.1 and have unlocked the boot loader. Now want to root and install custom rom. Does phone have to be rooted first or can you do this all at the same time. Can I please get a step by step guide that explanes this process dont want to play guessing game.
1. unlock bootloader
2. install a custom recovery via fastboot
3. install a custom ROM via custom recovery
Only if your custom ROM doesn't include root:
4. install a root package
I seem to be having problems finding a recovery that will work with my xt1031 only one for version xt 1032.
I have an XT1031 and can confirm both of three are compatable. The link below is for the non-themed TWRP version.

Thank you I will try that tonight.
How can I flash a TextNow Moto E (2015 2nd gen) phone from TextNow's custom ROM to the stock ROM for Sprint?
Are there any step-by-step instructions for a first-time flasher? And where can I obtain a copy of the stock ROM for Sprint (Boost or Virgin should also be okay.)
Thank You
First you would need to unlock the bootloader in order to flash the stock ROM.
After that you would need to install a custom recovery to make the installation process easier.
I guess you could easily find the stock ROM and the recovery easily for moto e.(google)

Thanks.
Wouldn't the bootloader be unlocked already since TextNow installed their custom ROM? How can I check the bootloader's lock status and unlock it if necessary?
How do I obtain and install the custom recovery?
