What is the best (most powerful) variant of the Stylo? - LG G Stylo Questions & Answers

I thought it might be Cricket, but I know T mobile has one too.

All of the Stylos have a Snapdragon 410 MSM8916 1200MHZ CPU. The only difference I know of between models is the camera, which makes the T-Mobile variant the most powerful, featuring 13MP instead of the 8MP camera.

The T-Mobile/Metro PCS version also has 2GB RAM instead of 1GB, and 16GB internal storage instead of 8GB, in addition to the 13MP camera. However, we're all still waiting for the Marshmallow update, whereas Sprint/Boost/Virgin already have it. If you want more memory, both RAM and internal storage, the T-Mo/Metro version is the way to go.
Between Sprint/Virgin/Boost is the Cricket model at 1.5GB RAM and 8GB internal storage, and the 8MP camera. However, it can only support up to a 32GB microSD where the T-Mo/Metro version can house at least a 64GB (that's what I have in mine, I've read some people actually have a 128GB and it works)

Cricket supports 64Gb sd cards. I have one in mine.

Don't forget that the Sprint/Boost/Virgin models support FM radio. And I THINK T-Mobile/Metro have NFC but don't quote me on that.

I know at minimum the T-Mo version has NFC because that's the one I have.

Good to know. I figured it would though since I don't have one I only had to go off what I could find online

Don't forget the Canadian version LG-H636 it's also got 13mp camera, 16Gb user space and 2Gb ram.
It doesn't matter what card is or isn't supported, you get a 1Gb ram model and you'll be regretting it eventually after only a small handful of downloaded and installed app's and suffering the consequences of low ram and running out of space, no amount of a sdcard can save you then from that problem.

Has Marshmallow for T-Mo arrived?!
I have a T-Mo model, and when I just now checked for update manually, it reported that there would be an update tonight between 23:00 and 04:00! The only detail provided was that the size was 147.9 Mb. Is this Marshmallow?!

I can confirm the T-Mo variant has 2Gb RAM and 16 Gb storage. I do not know about upper size limit supported for SD card.

Too small to be MM last I recall seeing and reading about that it was only a update to fix wifi-calling.

You are correct, not Marshmallow.
Lollipop 5.1.1 update. Added Google Pay, and may well have included a WFC fix. I've only had this phone a week, but it did seem to drop most calls, on cell and wi-fi. I've only had one call today, but it didn't drop.
I had high hopes for Marshmallow. T-Mo tech support said Marshmallow update wouldn't happen until Sept when I asked.
Oh, well.

Free ram is about 1.05GB when no apps running in background on 2GB version.
Phone runs beautifully no complaints here.
Your best bet is to see what LTE bands your operator provides and then decide which phone best correlates with these bands.
Good luck.
Hope this helps.
if you buy 3GB you loose most EU LTE bands ..
if you buy 2GB you loose 1GB RAM ..
What is better ?
I think 3 go gold edition has EU LTE bands too
Off course Go 3g 32 if you got enough money

Will you sell it several months later? If yes, suggest you buy 32g version. The second hand value for 32g version is better.
Sent from my HUAWEI MT7-TL10 using XDA Free mobile app
I actually regret not buying the 2GB of RAM version. I thought the phone would use more RAM but I suppose not. The additional storage space is nice, but the SD card slot makes up for it. I could've connected to AT&T's LTE network as well as more networks when I travel to England, but I went for the additional RAM and storage capacity instead.
Given that the 2GB version comes in more colour variations and costs less - I'd say go for that.
In some tests it seems that 2g version get little freezes or lags...
Someone can confirm this ?

My LG G FLEX 2 ONLY HAS 1.8GB ram ?!? its a 3gb model ,

Hello my LG G FLEX 2 only has 1.8GB of ram, it says 1.8GB available and 1.07GB used.
I tried using Cpu-Z and Hardware specs, and it all said i got 1.8Gb free
My LG G FLEX 2 32Gb is a H959 model,
Guys i also know this is a 32Gb model because, i used 2.90GB from 23.22GB
I also checked that on my computer and it is confirmed that i have 23.22 GB overall, so why on earth do i only have 1.8Gb overall ram.
Guys please tell me how much u lot have left, and also tell me what carrier you are using.
and if someone got a h959 32gb please tell me what ram you got left. You can check on cpu-z
***ps. I have not rooted it, or flashed any rom before.
*** i also was on android 5.01 and then got an OTA update to 5.1.1 and i did it, so even an update didnt fix an issue
I have the H955, 16gb model (the amount used for the firmware image is ridiculous)
CPU-Z says I have 1840MB Total RAM. But it happen that CPU-Z for android is wrong.
Go in Settings/Application and go in the third panel (I'm not sure of the name as my phone is not set in english)
It will show the ram used by applications but also the ram usage. It won't show the total ram but do the math and you'll get the true total RAM.
you have the 3 GB...
1.8 Available means the rest is used by android system and currently running apps...
H959 32gb = 2gb ram
H955 32gb (at&t)= 3gb ram
H959 comes with only 2gb of RAM regardless of your storage capacity.
Guys how much is used for system of the 32GB? Mine is 9.51GB... Does it look right?
Same for me, but I have a 32 GB SD card so storage isn't a problem. I wished I had 3GB RAM though. I'm on H959
Hi guys,
what are the model number of the 3gb RAM variants?
---------- Post added at 05:17 AM ---------- Previous post was at 05:16 AM ----------
Hi guys,
what are the model number of the 3gb RAM variants?

What version of the flex 2 should I buy????

I want to buy this phone but I'm not sure which version is better
I know that the h959 has 3gb of ram and all the other got 2, but i see somewhere that it does get updates very late.
So what is better?
2gb is enough, I have the 3gb version h950... But buy the one that have the bands you use

If you're in the US you need the H950...it has all the primary T-Mobile+AT&T bands. If you're in some other place, probably another variant.
Also H950 has 32GB storage over 16GB on one of the international/Korean ones. Remember microSD cards are slower than internal storage...

Yeah but the Korean version has 3 gb of ram. I think that it's more important than storage, but i don't want to wait longer for updates.

US/ATT also has 3GB/32GB. It can flash the PR update, which is handled by LG for Claro - also lacks bloat. At least with H950 B12 can be enabled, some other ones are hidden too.

I don't know anything about the bands/frequencies used in Israel, but you probably won't need the US (ATT) variant. Just Google what your carrier uses first.

I already chacked that,
I'm just wandering if the h959 is really better because of the 3gb ram, or I just go for the h955

I would get the 3gb version. I have the 2gb version and with heavy multitasking I sometimes wish i had gotten the 3gb version. But it really depends on your usage. If you are not a heavy multitasker you'd be OK with 2gb of ram.

No expandable storage on dual sim variant?

I bought a 4.7 Idol 3 and just now am seeing comments about the dual-sim variant lacking expandable storage. I've been looking for more info and all spec websites (including from my country) mention it should have a MicroSD slot.
Some dual-sim phones' tray also doubles a card reader, so you can choose whether to have expandable storage or dual sim capabilities. I've been wondering if the same is true for the Idol 3.
Which is true?
The model I'm getting is 6039J-JAALBRC-1, bought in Brazil.

I don't think so...
The dual-sim slots arent cut out for the MicroSD cards, and even the software of the stock rom for the dual sim variant(in my case the Idol 3 6045K) doesnt show any ability to recognise an SD card.

Yeah, that is what I just said.
The dual sim variant doesn't support MicroSD cards.
But it does have 32GB of storage, while the single-sim ones have 16GB.
When I got this device,I kinda hoped its second sim slot would act as a MicroSD card slot (like in Meizu M2 Note),but I am pretty satisfied with Cloud storage too.

That's too bad. Lack of MicroSD suppport would be a deal breaker if I saw it earlier, but I'm going to keep the Idol 3 considering I paid such a low price for it. Hopefully I'll get used to the available ~10 GB it comes with.
Thanks for making that clear.

Possible to get Global version for use on US Carriers?

hi i'm still running an M8 but the U11 looks like finally the phone that will trigger me to upgrade. I'm confused about how the US versions will be getting 4GB RAM 64GB storage, while the international versions will get 6GB RAM 128GB storage.
Anyone know if it's possible to get the international version to work on US Carrier? I'm on AT&T.
Thanks

Wrong information mate. All countries will get the same 4GB RAM/64GB internal configuration. Only difference are Taiwan and China were HTC will ship an 6GB RAM/128GB internal version as well. If your not running dual SIM the 64GB variant would suffice I think. But if you really want the larger storage you'd have to import it. Don't know if all US bands are present on this asian versions and if it'll run on AT&T though.

Gotcha. Well thanks for the info. I won't need dual SIM and use an SD card so I was really just interested in getting 25% more RAM if it wasn't hard to get an international version.

Not necessary to have those extra juice. Didn't make a lot in terms of performance on such a phone. Especially as long as it is driven by such an SoC and very well done software optimization.

should be fine with sd835 and 4 gb
Watch out for the dual sim variants. They don't have all the US bands.
I was kinda bummed about this too, but at least we have an SD card slot and HTC doesn't bloat the hell out of their phones with crap like "Touchwiz" so I think it wouldn't make much difference.

Wait, but there's five MIDs, two of which are dual-SIM. So how can "all countries be getting the same 4/64 config"?

Yeah I know bit MID isn't directly tied to storage options. And as far as I know EMEA and US and others are getting 4GB/64GB, while Aisa is the only region getting 6GB/128GB.

You'd have to import one from China / Taiwan / Europe / Middle East or buy a gray market device on Ebay, etc.
