Hi,
Annoyingly my S2 classic thinks I'm riding a bicycle whenever I'm riding my motorcycle? Which is annoying because S-health then reckons I've burnt loads of calories. I'm just wondering why this is as surely if it works on speed it should figure that I'm actually in/on a motorized vehicle especially from like 40 mph upwards? My only other explanation is that it uses the gyroscope and/or accelerometer to figure out that I'm holding on to handle bars?
Also is there anyway to change this so I can tell S-health that I wasn't riding a bicycle?
I have the same problem. Is there even a way to delete the data?

Ok, so i have a tracking program i made for my phone in C#, basically it uses my GPS gets coords stores in db then uploads then to a server which tracks me on gmaps.... now we have little icons for a car or a person walking... but no way to tell the difference, so my idea was to use the Accelerometer to tell if i was walking or driving, but i have no idea where to begin or if this is even possible? ideas?
I don't know about the accelerometer but you may just want to put a speed cap on the "icons"
ex if your tracked speed is less than 10 miles an hour your icon would be a person, if higher than 10 your icon would be a car (maybe specify a time so that every time you stop at a light your icon continues as a car)
Hi,
Is it possible to detect/measure car's acceleration or deceleration through a smartphone accelerometer ?
If yes, is it possible in all new smartphones ?
and how to implement it in android ?
Thanks
Depending on what you want to do, you'd have to figure out how best to filter out regular movement of a person just picking it up and putting it down, say - I don't know what the data on that looks like and how you could distinguish, et cetera. Or if the phone is sensitive enough to pick up anything meaningful beyond the sort of hard stop that would send it flying to the floor or whatever (they do seem pretty sensitive, but you'd have to test it).
You can determine speed using the GPS and it's pretty accurate (but this will use a lot of battery) and would naturally filter out small movements of a person using it within the vehicle. Implementation, I have no idea on that.
Hello people,
I'm encountering some problems regarding my gps, it doesn't move as I move, it drifts away and jumps around as far as 1 mile from where I actually am.
It's worthwhile mentioning that my tablet doesn't have an orientation sensor nor a magnetic sensor, is that a problem? I'm trying to play augmented reality games (Ingress to be specific)
I've my location settings set to high accuracy
Any suggestions to overcome this issue?

I've never got this to work. Using the Walk function I walked around our mall, a distance of .7 mi, and it shows either a mile or a half mile, the heartrate is in the 120 range, and the time is off by 20 mins. Anyone have an answer for this? It kinda defeats the purpose of having a "fitness" function when it's not accurate.
Auto pause and / or Dynamic workout might be your culprit.
Auto Pause will automatically pause the workout if it thinks you are taking a break, then restarts it when you start moving.
Dynamic Workout Detection will start a new workout if it thinks you are exercising. It might be overriding your Walk function if it thinks you're doing more than walking.

Currently using Strava to track my cycling and finding in general The HW2 works pretty well, especially how easy it syncs to my phone afterwards. Seems to track pretty accurately with my favourite walks and rides. I am having two problems that hopefully someone can help with;
1. Whilst cycling the ride pauses occasionally when I have not pressed pause on screen. Does one of the physical buttons pause the session? Am I catching the button when descending over bumpy sections or climbing out of the saddle. I have considered wearing the watch upside down, so the buttons don’t catch the back of my hand. Has anyone got any other ideas?
2. The distance on my watch displays distance in kilometres but I would like this to be in miles. Can this be changed and do I do this on the Strava on my watch or my phone?
Thanks in advance.

i haven't used Strava, but may consider.
i use Map My Run - and that automatically pauses when it detects that I am NOT moving. So it could be a GPS signal thing. I would imagine to change the measure to miles, you could do that within the phone app (imperial).
Thanks for that. Found Strava settings in the app on the watch and changed units to imperial. Just discovered the bottom button on the watch pauses and resumes the work out. So it looks like I will have to wear the watch a bit looser or where it upside down. Not ideal but should work.
