I just installed a font installer app. When I just installed a new font, the app ask for reboot. I rebooted my phone and it starts normally. But after 4 or 5 times I installed the others font and rebooted again and again, at the last time I rebooted, my phone stuck at the boot animation. Even 30 minutes it doesn't past the boot animation. How to fix it?
My phone is Sony Xperia L C2105 running Android 4.1.2 (15.0.A.2.17), rooted, bootloader is still locked.
I don't want to flash my phone because it will erase my data. I have some important contact and messages that I didn't have the backup yet.
I need help, it's really important for me.
Sorry for my bad English.
I will appreciate your suggestions.
Thank you.
Which app did you use? You know, the same thing happened with my brother's Xperia M.

I use Font Installer, I just found it in Play Store and want to try that app, but I can't even use my phone now.
Did your brother got a solution for this problem?

My brother used MyFont app..installing any font would cause a reboot for him. So, he uninstalled the app when somehow his phone started after successive retries... try remove your battery and somehow start your phone and remove that app!
Btw, he rooted via Framaroot! What about you?

how many times he tried? And how long is needed for the battery to be removed?
Okay, I'll try this method. Wish that it will be work.
I rooted my device with Motochopper. I have tried using Framaroot, but it didn't work.

Thanks all for the suggestions
But, I have found a solution for this problem.
The solution is to flash the device without wiping user data and cache (don't tick anything under the Wipe option). I just tried it and it was successful.
Now, my phone is back and I don't lose any app and my data.
But, once again, thank you
Hi everyone.
I have the following problem with a Nexus 5: During an update, the system crashed. The phone is now stuck in an endless bootloop, trying to install the update. When left long enough, the update screens eventually come up, but you are immediately blasted with a ton of errors and no matter what you do, you are unable to complete the update. This, however, is not the problem.
I have tried various utilities in order to flash the phone back to factory settings. I have made use of Unified Android ToolKit, as well as Nexus Root Toolkit, but a problem with the phone itself is preventing me from flashing it and the problem is as follows: I can access the phone via USB, as well as the bootloader, but when I unlock the bootloader to start the flashing, it immediately locks itself again and I'm unable to start the flash process.
I've searched for other instances in which the bootloader won't unlock, but I can't find any information. Is there perhaps a hardware problem preventing me from unlocking the bootloader or can someone help me find a solution to this problem?

If the lock state reverts on a reboot, 99 times out of 100, it means the internal memory has an issue. RMA.

No probs. Sounds like the update got stuck at the bootloader flash and corrupted. It's probably not a fatal NAND issue, rather corrupt partition or two but it usually means sending it in.
You can try the LG flashtool as a last resort before doing so though, as you never know...
You can find a link to it in the sticky thread in my signature. Best to stay away from actual "toolkits" though and either use fastboot manually or LG flash tool, although fastboot probably cant help you here - just saying for future ref...

Can anyone suggest some steps for me to try before I RMA the phone? Although, being unable to unlock the bootloader probably limits my options.

I was stuck in the boot animation and when it opened there was a lot of system errors and it would reboot by itself over and over again.
what fixed it was to do a wipe cache and dalvik and reinstall it

I tried the 'wipe cache' as well, but it returns a bunch of errors as well. I'm starting to think the NAND is screwed. What is dalvik?

Dalvik cannot break your bootloader. Your only option was use lg flashtool and if that failed, RMA. Let's not get false hopes and waste time not doing this.

i thought about LG FLASHTOOL but decided to try reinstaling the rom cuz i had no other option since i forgot to leave a backup rom on the device. So I did it as if I was installing a brand new rom Wiped dalvik, cache and system then reflashed the rom and then the gapps. Even tho it was the same ROM file I had a different outcome. It's working fine now but I did go back to the nightlies after it started working again just to be safe.
Now... people may have a different outcome when trying to solve this issue but this actually worked for me after having a minor heart-attack thinking I was gonna lose all my stuff

Yes, but your issue is different to the OP's. His bootloader lock state reverts whenever he changes it. This is a pretty much "fatal" issue. What you did cannot help him unfortunately.

I rooted my phone and was about to install Nexboost V6 rom from following thread
http://forum.xda-developers.com/xperia-j-e/development/rom-nexboost-cm11-camera-t2852519
Below were the steps given.
Flash 11.0.A.6.8 firmware (4.0.4 ftf)
Flash Poseidon Kernel
Boot into CWM
Wipe data, cache, dalvik cache
Format system
Flash the ROM, enjoy your Sony Xperia Nexus
I performed first two steps and tried to boot into recovery but when restarting device it only keeps on vibrating and green/blue led pops up continously.
Before this sometimes sony xperia logo kept appearing and when i pressed volume up/down for booting into recovery, it kept restarting by itself.
I dont know if my recovery got affected or what..
Please help me in this regard.
Thanx in advance...
hello, first thing first, no CWM if your bootloader is locked!!!!
okay, these steps can be done one a time, so make sure where the problem is exactly..
first..take off the battery and put it in again and FLASHMODE. flash the ftf and make a full boot if the phone boots with no problems then you can continue.
then, power off and FASTBOOT MODE mod and make the second step that is flashing UltraGamerHD's kernel and make a full boot to system again...
and so..... if your phone didnt face any problems you can install the ROM.
(make sure you download the kernel from the official website)

I have unlocked the bootloader. Now the guy from that post of Nexboost Rom quoted
" Retry the process.
Btw, I made a mistake.
The version number of the FTF is 11.1.A.0.68, not 11.0.A.6.8 "
I have found that ftf file and is in download.
Do that make a difference in my procedure. ??
oh yes (unexpected mistake) lol
dowload 4.0.4 ICS from here
for xperia E DUAL:
11.1.A.0.68 =4.0.4=ICS
11.3.A.3.1=4.1=JB
Ohk fine.. I will get back when it will finish, i hope i dont have to face any other issue.
Anyways thnx a lot for ur help. Keep helping

Hey TheBrainCandy,
Firmware and kernel were installed successfully but i faced an issue while installing ROM, it showed some error as :
" E:Error in /sdcard/NexboostV5.zip
Status 7
Installation aborted. "
I surfed related to this error and found out to edit the binary script, also followed it but still there is no progress..
M stucked again at this point. Looking forward for ur valuable help.
Please help, Thanx in advance
i saw your posts there and the "installation aborted" is just a quoted message that doesnt affect the ROM or the installation so you better refer it the ROM owner maybe he could help you other than that,
make sure that your system/ is mounted,,, just make sure you followed the instructions if you're facing a problem with this ROM, you may wanna look at my jellybean ROM. good luck once again
Thanx a lot friend.. Please give me link of your thread..

setup guide doesn't matter, if the phone works fine after that message then yeah not a problem, if its stuck there then its the ROM's fault not your installation steps

Problem #1. My phone refuses to boot into recovery. Every method I've tried ends up failing, the screen flashes for a split second, then boots normally. It's strange.
Problem #2. SuperSU is a motherf$#£&er. I've tried everything, the binaries just won't update.
I am not sure if the above problems are related, although they may well be.
I am fairly new to this whole scene, I've had a rooted Xperia M2 for a few days, the bootloader is unlocked, too.
It's on Lollipop 5.1.1, if that helps. I've tried a lot of things, flashing stock ROM, wiping device and restoring, re-rooting, nothing seems to work.
If anyone can assist me, that'd be fab.

That seemed to do what it was supposed to do with no errors, but it didn't fix either one of my problems.
Try to install recovery again.
Phone just went into a bootloop after installing an update.
Tried Sony's companion multiple times and it didn't work, i had the same bootloop although the the process finishes.
I'm trying Firmware tool now, but It failed, but I'm not sure if it was because I didn't fine a proper TFT and had to build one.
Any help, guides will be appreciated. especially with TFT.

Have you tried Flashtool? It should sort it out. If you need to keep your data, don't check any of the boxes under "Wipe" collumn. If that doesn't work, then do it again with checking all those boxes under Wipe, but you will loose your data.

I'll give it a try again.
I don't care about the data so wiping everything will not be an issue.
My problem was just trying to download the files from a website. Got them for xperiafirm, but I don't know if I did not build the files right.
Will give it a try after work.

That's why you should use Flashtool, it has Xperifirm built in, just pick your model and region (make sure it's Customized variant of the firmware, not carrier branded), and the Flashtool will build it properly.
Hope you sort it out, let us know.
Cheers.
EDIT: Oh, and disabling antivirus helps sometimes, my Nod32 doesn't like ADB and phone flashers in general, it would sometimes interrupt the flashing.
Nothing worked.
Tried multiple tft images, making my own and Xperia companion.
Any other suggestions?
