[APP][4.2+] Pace Control - new app for runners - Android Apps and Games

Hello, everyone!
I would like to share the news about the new app called Pace Control. It is written for runners to help them improve their training and race times. I am quite active amateur runner (I regularly run 4-5 days a week) and I found it difficult to find the app meeting my expectations, I decided to write the app myself. I have run with it for almost a year (of course not the same version) and I believe it's time to share the app with other runners.
---
KNOW AND CONTROL YOUR PACE.
Would you like to improve the quality of your training and run exactly as fast as you should?
During a race do you think you run quite slow while in fact you start too fast and you are too tired later to finish in planned time?
Would you like to run with negative split strategy, but you find it too difficult to calculate and check split times?
If you answered "yes" to any of these questions, you will probably be a happy Pace Control app user!
MAIN FEATURES:
Reliable pace information - pace calculation algorithm optimized to handle gps signal in a way which results in stable and reliable readings.
Finish time prediction - calculation of estimated finish time based on distance already achieved and current pace.
Shadow runner - tracking race progress vs a virtual runner running a race in a predefined time and with predefined strategy.
Negative split - improve your results by running with negative split strategy (start slower and gradually speed up).
Voice feedback - no need to look at your phone to get information, you will hear the messages read to you in your headphones.
Map - you can see the track you run on the map.
Save to GPX - tracks you run with the app can be saved to a gpx file, so they can be imported to external tools or sites for analysis.

Support for miles added!

Version 1.3 with map is available. Try it!

There is a version 1.4 available. Why don't you download it?

Pace Control app has just achieved 1000 downloads!

Version 1.5 is out!
Change list:
• improvements of voice feedback
- you can decide whether to hear standard messages or more informal but shorter ones.
- when some other app is playing music when a voice feedback message is to be played, Pace Control can ask the app to either lower volume or pause the playback completely.
- possibility to decide whether to hear extended message after each kilometer/mile.
- support for Australian English voice.
• some minor changes

Version 1.6 is already available. You can now export your workouts to external running services (Endomondo is the first one supported). The app also has a German translation.

Can you make the app ding with two separate notes for fast pace/slow pace with a user setting for how far off pace the dings happen?
E.g. App Settings:
Above Pace Ding
woahh.mp3 (user selectable)
Above Pace Cutoff
5 seconds (user selectable)
Below Pace Ding:
fireundermyass.mp3 (user selectable)
Below Pace Cutoff:
10 seconds (user selectable)

Thanks for your suggestion. It took a while to respond, but I was working very hard on adding the workout history and now (should be releasing in the nearest days) history export/import.
Could you, please, help me understand better how you want to use the feature you proposed? I always run with voice feedback turned on, so I usually don't have problems with correcting my pace, because I receive messages every 200 meters (or 1/8 mile). The feature would bring benefit in case you are off the desired pace very much - in this case you would probably receive a "ding" sooner. Do I understand correctly?

Hello, runners!
Pace Control is still alive. Version 1.8 with remote race functionality is ready for beta testing. Remote race lets you run a race against another runner who can be far far away from you. You run at the same time and you both have real-time feedback, so you know how fast the opponent runs. Learn more about remote race at http://pacecontrol.pbksoft.com/remote-race.html.
To become a beta tester, please, register at https://play.google.com/apps/testing/com.pbksoft.pacecontrol. Send all your bug reports, requests, feedback etc. to [email protected].
Notes:
1. Beta version may contain bugs (this is why we test it, to find these bugs right?). We advise not to start experimenting with beta version right before you plan to use the app during some important running event.
2. But don't be afraid too much! We believe that you will find the remote race so enjoyable that it is worth to take a risk and try that beta!
3. Remote race requires sending information about the progress of your run to the server so that your opponent can access this information. Your location is not sent to the server, only the information about how fast you run is stored there (as well as some basic information about the race). App's privacy policy available on our web page will be updated accordingly to reflect this when beta test is finished.

good
try it and good!

Remote race is considered stable and is available in regular version of Pace Control to be downloaded from Google Play. Try it, it's worth it.
You can read more at: http://pacecontrol.pbksoft.com/remote-race.html

Version 1.9.0 which presents more detailed stats about workouts is available. Anyone interested in trying this version and sharing thoughts?

You can try 1.9.2. Even more stats and an option to prevent accidental clicks during workout are available.

In the meantime I released 1.9.3 with GDPR compliance (affects users from European Economic Area) and I started working on adding charts to workout summary screen. I hope you will enjoy these changes.

Merry Xmas to all users!
In the meantime I just want to let you know that Pace Control 1.9.4 has very nice graphs. Why don't you try it?
And, of course, I strongly recommend to try remote race functionality which gives you a lot of fun and I have not found anything similar in any other app. To learn more, please, read: https://pacecontrol.pbksoft.com/remote-race.html

Anyone from Greece here? Greek translation added!

Looks well, new version is good

Thanks.

[GAMES] Classic Arcade Crazy Tilt Challenge! (MAME)

Classic Arcade Crazy Tilt Challenge is new MAME build with built-in global scoreboard.
* Pre-release is available for testing on Android devices (phones & tablets).
Scores are kept on-line, but they are also shown in-game, if the game has scorebaord. There are also extended scoreboards you can access via menu, so for the games that only store one high-score like Pac-Man, they now have full (15 places) scoreboard all together with initials. The same "automated scoreboard syncing system" can be implement on a PC MAME as well, let me know if you think there is interest for it to be made.
Beside global scoreboard this build also features new input method for mobile devices utilizing accelerometer (G-sensor). It's unlike any sensor input you may have tried with some other mobile games or emulators. If you think sensor control is clumsy, unresponsive and completely unsuited for arcade games, prepare to be surprised. Track and Field, you run by shaking the phone! See this:

I'm new to XDA but am interested in testing. send me a link!

Thank you. See your inbox.
Anyone else feel free to jump in any time.
There is only one account per device possible. Your device ID is both your user name and password, logging is automatic. Only the first time you log in you will need to choose your player-name. Player-name can have 10 characters, but first 3 letters must be unique among all registered users, they will be your in-game initials. Don't bother writing initials in the game, after sync all your scores will be renamed to your chosen Player-name.
Don't forget to log in before playing for the record. Data usage is minimal, there is never permanent connection with the server. You only connect briefly each time you sync (login/logout), and every time transfer is less than half a kilobyte, really tiny. You can sync after each game, but you don't have to. Score syncing is done automatically when you login and logout, or manually any time you want to see if anyone posted any new scores since your last sync, or to upload yours.
Games available in this test-build (CrazyTilt_059.apk):
commando
digdug
dkong
elevator
gyruss - no in-game initials yet
mpatrol
mslug - no scoreboard yet
mrdo
pacman
pacmanm
paperboy - no scoreboard yet
popeyebl
qbert - no scoreboard yet
scramble
starwars - no scoreboard yet, on small screens turn scale/stretch & image smoothing
timeplt
trackfld - no scoreboard yet, run by going left-center or right-center, not full left-right
yiear - button 3 = butt.1+butt.2
If input seem unresponsive disable vibration feedback. If you see game struggle try switching to AUTO Frame Rate, or perhaps better yet find some fixed frame rate (50, 45, 40, 30, 20, 15 fps), but it really depends on the type of game which option may produce better results. Even the crappiest Android devices phones/tablets should run most of these games at full speed, with possible exceptions of mslug, starwars and paperboy, but they play really well at 15fps on my crappy phones, which doesn't look too bad on small screens at all.
Do not forget to switch appropriate joystick mode because you will not be able to properly play 4-way games in 8-way or analog mode. In this build machines do not reset yet, so they do not collect tokens and do not pay out any tokens. Please don't mind if I reset scoreboards manually and delete some of your well earned records, we are just testing. If you have time try to post at least two records on each game that has support for it, or as many as records you can. Once you think you have tried it enough I'd like you to tell me about things you did NOT like or think could/should be better or simpler. Have fun!
Ok, due to lack of interest I will stop following this thread. Anyone interested to try it out before the release, or perhaps help me with testing (playing), can still find me here: smf.webng.com/crazytilt

[APP][4.1+][Material Design][12/04] kcalCulate

Hey there,
starting out as a little research project about new Google Material Design, I ended up rewriting and old little app of mine using as much of Material Design as possible on Android 4.1+ devices.
kcalCulate is an personal caloric need calculator, BMI calculator & weight diary.
You want to keep track of your weight, want to know, how many calories you should eat every day to reach your goals?
Calculate how many calories you should eat per day, depending on your body measurements, your fitness activites and your day to day business.
Keep track of your progress and check yourself developing over time.
kcalCulate comes with three different charts to show you your weight, kcal and BMI.
That beeing said, you can use it as your personal weight diary and stay motivated.
Additionally, kcalCulate calculates your BMI (Body Mass Index) and gives you a rating.
Select activites from a wide variaty of possibilitys. If you have a lot of them, you can use up to 4 different ones.
Specific goals can be gaining weight, losing weight or keep your weight.
Measurements can be entered either in metric units (cm/kg) or imperial units (inch/lbs).
(Please note, it's inch not [feet]'[inch])
kcalCulate includes advertising, placed at the bottom of a Scrollview, so you won't see if often, and another one below the progress charts.
kcalCulate also comes with In-App Billing (for supporting further development and getting rid of the ads). Them two are the reasons for the needed permissions.
Furthermore kcalCulate uses Google Analyticts, as the stock developer console statistics kind of suck!
Information about used libs and pictures can be found within the app
Some Pictures:
Enjoy it!

If you come across any bugs/errors/layout problems, please don' hesitate to inform me!
Changelog
1.01 - Fix for errors on devices running Android 5 Lollipop
1.02 - Changes on the logo
Uploaded Version 1.01 to Playstore. Will be there within the next few hours.
This one fixes an error with InApp-Billing on devices running Android 5 Lollipop, as the initial query already lead to a FC. Can somebody running on Lollipop please confirm the fix? I don't have a device running 5.0.
Version 1.02 is up on Playstore. Did some changes to the logo, namely: circular icon instead of just the plane piece of cake.

[APP][3.0+] Toolkit: W - The unofficial calander and organizer for GoW

Hi all just released the beta of my latest app. Toolkit W is a non-official calendar and organizer that will let allow you to play the popular android app GoW more proactively. It like having your own watchtower guard in your city that will remind you to need to log in before certain events occur such as troops returning from marches, or your shields are about to expire. The W stands for (Watchguard) however actual name of the app is Toolkit: W
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.aidedesk.toolkitw
This app has taken about 2 and a half months of work to produce. One more month than i had planned. It utilizes the Standout library found here on xda hence it is a is a multitasking-enabled app that can run the same time as other apps. TW have been designed with transparent windows so you can easily enter data from GoW into TW.
Since this is my second standout library app I was able to spend more time working with that library. This is probably the first Standout library on the Playstore that has working dialog boxes. Currently services comprise of 95% of the app. All visible windows are services, there is also a lot of background services that may run
the moment the app in beta stage so it has less than 10% of the full planned feature set.
Currently TW lets you:
*Bookmark Cities and rss; and view march times to all bookmarked targets.
*Gives you a reminder 1 minute before a march returns home from City attacks or an RSS gathering. Great if you don't want your collected food to eaten away before you can use it.
*Provide a detailed Activity Analysis. At any time whether your you army is attacking, gathering, or returning.
You can see the time taken for the whole activity. ie you can see the total time it takes to March out, gather and return.
Average gathering speed. Determines the average gathering speed taking into account time to March to location.
*Reminders will work when phone goes into sleep when app is still running. Option to disable reminders from the TW when you exit TW No annoying sounds when you sleep. (Note: this does not affect GoW reminders.)
*Launch GoW from any application or game you might be playing. Or launch from the notification bar when your attention is required.
*Fully offline. You can keep track of your current gathering or attack progress without an Internet access.
.....[You can read more details on the play store]
Feel free to download this app and give it a try. Hopefully I've found all the major bugs in this beta release. Tell me what you think and if its easy to use. As for the color theme and layout i've given that very little thought feel free to offer suggestions on a theme or what i should change.
Note if you have issues with the Monster RSS gather times I've put an update already through which appear to propagated through but who knows.
Disclaimer: This app was released by Aidedesk Studios and is NOT endorsed and is NOT affiliated with Machine Zone games the developer of GoW
A small update has been applied.
*Fixed battery drain bug, if the app was running when the phone was in sleep.
*Fixed some missing text info and minor bugs
beta v1.23 is out
*Added boost items. Now you can track shields and other boost. You will receive a distinct notification sound when your shields are about to go so you wont ignore thinking its just an ordinary notification.
*Further reduced memory footprint. Currently the War Room Window is using 7mb less memory then version 1.0.
Beta Warning: If this app crashes when the screen is on you will need to run the app again to restart any reminders.
Planned for upcoming versions:
*Low Battery Mode (Toolkit W will consume 30-75% less power when screen is on) Does not affect GoW battery drain.
*Post Alert Reminder. See a list of timers that have just been completed.
*Simply Rally. Track Rally timers up to 8 hours that are supposed to be cancelled before a march out.
