The IMEI # should be on the back of the phone. Text is pretty small.
^ What he said.
Backside of the phone, at the bottom.
You can find both IMEI and S/N there (Very transparent text though so not easy to read)

Cool, but I don't know what format it needs to enter on Samsung website, I registered a Samsung account and try to register this phone but when I am entering and clicking submit its not accepting it, if I need to include slash(/) in imei number which I enter and also how many digits long IMEI numbers are.
Thanks for reply fuya
You should only need to type in the 15 digits

Thanks

Hi Friends....
I have a small question....
I lost my HTC-S710. The phone was having device lock enabled.
Is it possible that the person who got it can use the mobile by reflashing it?
(Is Reflashing is possible even if they dont know the device unlock code?.... as when I connect the device to PC the ActiveSync was asking pasword for me... So can the person flash ???)
i think it's possible but not 100% sure. Because with my wizard a friend entered 3 times the wrong code and blocked. After hard reset i can get in my wizard again.
Yes the device lock will be wiped during the reflash so it won't help unfortunately
Call your operator and the imei will be blocked on all networks if it's stolen. At least that's how it works here in sweden.
The person can simply turn it off, perform a hard reset and they are back up and running. Any data you had stored on your SD card will be available to them!

Hi asmarttechie,
I know it is easy.... but after I disabled my SIM from operator when I went to Police station they refused to log complaint and advised to register the lost/stolen mobile with e-seva. I roomed 3 e-save and got one where these kind of complaint is taken. and I could register it 2 days later of my mobile lost....
I agree with you to track/block mobile using IMEI number and I have the BOX with me..... But I am too not sure if Cops will show any interest to do that . Also Mobile operators will not do that with out police interfering....
Also in Jagdish Market they can rewrite the IMEI number it seems So loosing hope because of Cops and Operator
Update::
Hi Prabha... the police r hopeless i suppose in this matter, anyways i came across a very interesting news that has been making rounds quite for some time now::
Simple to find Lost Mobile
An IMEI number-The International Mobile Equipment Identity (IMEI) number is an international identity number used to uniquely identify a mobile phone. The 15-digit IMEI number is an electronic fingerprint transmitted every time a phone is used, which reveals the identity of the mobile handset.
How can I find out my IMEI number? IMEI numbers are independent of the phone number and are usually written underneath the battery or on the back of the handset. Mobile phone users can also check their 15 digit IMEI number by dialling *#06# on their mobile handset. Mobile phone owners should make a note of their IMEI number and keep the details in a safe place.
If u lost your mobile, send an e-mail to [email protected] with the following info.

Hi
I would like to add some pc of info
I am using the software called remote protect.
As soon as a new sim is inserted it gives you an sms on a alternative no registered by you at the time of install stating the phone stolen
This blocks the phone to start completely
You can give command/s from remote number like batt ,status wipe phone mem or card mem your device will respond without the thief knowing tht sms are being sent..
If can also let you know the International Mobile Subscriber Identifier (IMSI) and IMEI.
Also there are other softwares like mobile Swipe from Sprite.
This software works on non-PPC devices?
yep I run sprite terminator on my smartphone standard, if the retard swipes my gps as well I can track the fecker, though looking forward to getting a smatphone standard with a decent built in gps...
you can also wipe, lock, and it reports sim changes to several chosen numbers, you send commands over SMS which dont show up in the message box and don't make a noise so the thief is non the wiser
cook your own rom and include terminator in it and even if they hard reset you still have control and can track it, wipe it, lock it, hopefully soon you will be able to taunt them with pop up messages on the screen... It would be worth having a phone stolen.. every time they chance the sim, it tells you and then you can taunt them further...
the only way they could stop it is to re flash.. and how many of your average thieves are bright enough to do that...?
I use an app called Eye On Thief - its trial version works fully well
BTW, do let us know if that [email protected] email ID helped at all

So I've been trying to register my phone all night. When I enter my S/N it says invalid serial number. I am 100% positive that i'm getting the right numbers in. I even had a buddy enter it in. It also says please enter IMEI or HEX number. Am I suppose to add them both in? The s/n and the IMEI? Whats the deal? Also what is a HEX number? Any help would be appreciated.
really weird
[HOW-TO] Reenter your lost SMSC number
Fix not sent SMS messagesHey, you just flashed an ICS ROM and found out that you can't send SMS messages anymore? You flashed back to Gingerbread and it did not help?
In this case probably your SMSC number has been deleted. I've had that problem too and found several webpages that said "Do this", "Do that" and finally you shall enter your SMSC number and tap on update. Well, indeed that's basicly it, but there's one problem: You will get an update error, because you can't simply enter "+4912345..." into the little box.
"But how can I update my SMSC number?"
Well, for this you have to do a little step before you can do that. The number has to be converted into the PDU format. To do that go to this page: http://www.twit88.com/home/utility/sms-pdu-encode-decode and look for "String sms message". There is a little editbox which says: "SMSC +019000001". Enter your own SMSC number here and klick on "Convert" below. The big textbox "Hexadecimal PDU Message" will update and will show something similar like this:
Code:
AT+CMGW=24
[U][B]0791349124722037[/B][/U]11000A9210299232900000AA0CC8F71D14969741F977FD07
The first 16 numbers which are underlined are your converted smsc number.
"All right and were shall I enter it?"
Open your phone app and enter "*#*#4636#*#*" after that a new window will open. Select "Phone Information" and scroll down. There will be a little box "SMSC ". Enter your converted SMSC number (in this example: 0791349124722037) and tap on the left button which says "Update".
"That's all?"
Yes you're done, but how about leaving a little comment?
I have created this thread because while searching with google I have found tons of websites that did not mention the PDU conversion and so I have thought it is good to have it here...
Reserved. Just in case...
thanks... worked great for me... nice guide.
Hello, I tried following your guide, but I have not solved the problem of sending MMS. But now I can not set the old SMSC number. Can you help?
EDIT: Thanks, but I solved by putting the SIM in an old phone and restore code SMSC.
Excuse my English.
I dont have a galaxy but i keep running into this issue.
Plus im on sprint, and when i go into the phone to update the SMSC number i keep getting update error.
I have been searching but i can not find anything that has helped.

Thank you so much i was pulling my hair out over this. I had the message center number but had no idea about the PDU conversion. It's also worth noting that you can check the PDU is correct by pasting the first 16 characters into "Hexadecimal PDU message"(its ABOVE the smsc box) and pressing convert. It will convert it back and you should see your message centre number you entered down in the SMSC box in the "Readable PDU message" box. If not, you've copied the wrong digits. It's Best to copy ONLY the first 16 chars as you are checking only your SMSC.
Dude Thanks so much for this, Vodafone have been trying to figure this out and knew nothing about the conversion and then tell me my phones broken !!! Shows you how much they know !!! Much Appreciated my friend really good help !!
Problem
This doesn't work for me. Maybe because i am in Greece. Maybe i have to change the Receiver on this page.I don't know, help me
Try using GoSMS. Go to Settings > Advanced > Enable customized SMSC number and put your carrier's SMSC number in. Did the trick for me and it even sticks after uninstalling GoSMS!
May Be this will work

Hi Buddy,
Many thanks for this thread.
I tried the steps but didn't help me on my Samsung Galaxy Grand Duos (GT-I9082) upgraded to CM 11-20141008 build.
Neither settings are not stored nor after updating the code SMS sending works.
I have verified the SMSC no.
Request priority advice.

Friends,
I got the issue fixed.
The SMSC code is to be entered in the PDU encoder as + Country Code & SMSC number e.g. +91991xxxxxxx in the box under header "String sms message". Select 7bit "Alphabet size". Remove the text message . Thereafter hit "Submit" button. The hexadecimal PDU message created will be something like "AT+CMGW=8
0791198922700800110000910000AA00".
Use first (from left) eleven (11) digits from this code and enter in the phone.
Many Thanks for support and guidance by all and most importantly this site for rescue.
Regards,
//Ramakant
All of these advice on smsc is wrong. All you do, is enter the damn smsc number in quotes, PDU is not necessary at all.

Dude near 2 hours on the phone with str8 talk and countless days past since I've searched n searched... I would lick your nut sack if I didn't like ***** so much...my comment will probably be deleted. But in any case to ANYONE THAT CANT USE THE *#*#4636#*#* OR THAT DOESNT HAVE THE MESSGAE CENTER NUMBER IN THEIR SETTINGS IN THE MESSAGE APP THEN FEAR NOT BC ITS IN your network mode settings I tried several codes none took me there. So I download force LTE from the play store or anyone of them will do that I've used... and that big ass SMSC that says updated refresh well that's it it's right there. And I'm supposed to know alot about phones and computers but this gave me nightmares....anyways thank you to the o.p. who probably won't see this anyways but your method needs updated a tad. With a 3rd option to find that setting. Jus download an app for LTE switching from Google or apkpure or wherever. Thank you thank you thank you!!!
Hello, I tried to change my phone number on sprints site to a new one. For some reason my phone would not accept this new number. Is there a way to manually enter the number into the phone with a dialer code? I have the MSID(IMSI) it gave me after I did the switch. Any help? Thanks
You cannot just choose a New Number. A new number will be randomly assigned to you. Check THIS see if it helps you out.
Hello everyone, I hope all are doing great.
I need your help, is there a dialer app that if I dial the code *#06# to display the IMEI number it will show two imei numbers on the screen instead of one imei number on a single sim phone?.
So for example I have blackberry KEYone phone which is single sim and I want a dialer app that I can modify to add one more IMEI number to it and then when I dial *#06# code it will display the original IMEI number of the phone and the one I added ?
I hope I managed to explain my point.
The reason I want this because I want to use it on my phone to register and declaring my phone to operate on the service providers network here where I live.
Any helpful info will be highly appreciated
Many thanks
