Snapchat on Android 6.01 Marshmallow Video Crash? - General Questions and Answers

Im on Android 6.01 CM13, when recording a video on snapchat its all fine but as soon as i click the send button the app crashes. Tried disabling everything that has with xposed to do, and cleared app cache and so on, but still no luck.

If you uninstall it you can switch to art but then you won't be able to run xposed. It's not compatible
I've uninstalled xposed, and the apps connected (kk themer, bbs & grav box) except for greenfiy.
I've cleared cache in cwm recovery. I select ART, device reboots...
I check dev options and under select runtime, it still displays use dalvik.
Any advice?

have u uninstalled xposed binaries from xposed installer and then uninstalled xposed installer, or just uninstalled the xposed installer?
u have to do the former to completely uninstall xposed framework..
For me all I had to do was uninstall exposed via the installer app. I eventually went back to dalvic and xposed

This is exactly what the issue was. I had just uninstalled xposed, rather than uninstalling the framework from within the app.
I feel stupid lol
All sorted now though, thanks anyway :highfive:

Youtube Problem

Hello! I am on pure Kitkat 4.4.2 with franco.kernel r34 and have installed some mods via Xposed Installer. Problem is that my Youtube app doesnt work. Everytime I try to start Youtube app, it gives me an error "Unfortunately, Youtube has stopped". This is exactly the same problem I am facing in my Nexus 10 with the same ver of Kitkat and Franco Kernel and mods. I have tried uninstalling Youtube via Titanium Backup and reinstalling a fresh copy from Play but the problem is still there.
Now is this a problem with the Kernel or have I messed up something else. Please help.
It's not you, it's them. The YouTube app has been wonking out for a few weeks.
You have the YouTube ad blocker module and it needs updating

I can't activate Art

Hi.
My N5, 10 days old, is rooted and with bootloader. I'm using NOVA launcher.
I activated developer mode.
If I try to change to Art I have to confirm a message of library change and reboot. So I do it, N5 reboot, I go back to developers adjust and I see that I continue on Dalvik. I tryed it sometimes but never starts with Art.
Any solution? What happens with my Nexus?
Thanks

Using Xposed Framework?, either stick with dalvik or uninstall Xposed as they don`t play well

Hit up the dev of Nova and see what he says. Usually really quick at replies. Seems odd that its worked before with ART

Have you ever downloaded Xposed? And didn't uninstall it the correct way? Maybe you still have the framework installed without uninstalling it, and just deleted the app...

i guess all those people using art while rooted are just clueless then
My bad, I thought art wasn't compatible with root!!! So having xposed framework without having any modules won't let ART switch on? How weird!

yea, xposed breaks art. it used to just not boot, but they now made it so it doesnt switch to art. all root does is give you permission to mess with system files or use root apps.

Hi,
Go into Xposed Framework, Framework-> Uninstall (it will restore the original file "app_process") then reboot.
If it's not enough uninstall Xposed Framework and modules from Settings/Apps.

I'm attaching the camera app deodexed.
Move it to syterm\priv-app\cameracommon, set permission to rw-r-r, delete oat folder, and reboot.
And let me know if it solves your issues...

big thanks, all camera functions are running. i didnt know it works for marshmallow too, since i only saw the deodexing guide for LP only. another thing learned :good:
Hi everyone, I'm new so I appologise if what I ask is commonly known as fixed, but before I put xposed on my Z5 I notice the current release can have issues with Sony devices and some corrupted files which is unfixable at present? I found this on another xda page, the actual xposed page I think, yet I see above someone has it on a z5 safely
Is this issue resolved?

Xposed framework

Anybody know if this is available yet for our phone. I used to have this and it was great. I especially liked it for allowing YouTube to play in the background.

Yes, as long as you're rooted with Magisk. Download the SDK 26 framework version if you're on Oreo.
If you're only interested in background playing for YouTube, there is a Magisk module for that, too, so you wouldn't need Xposed. I'm only running it for GravityBox so I couid change a few SystemUI components.
Additional info from the screenshots. Check the official Magisk and Xposed XDA threads for any downloads you may need.

Seems the magisk module isn't working to keep YouTube open in the background. I'll try the xposed now.

Strange... Works fine on my end. You may need to fully uninstall YouTube first, then install the Magisk module and reboot. A reboot after uninstalling YouTube may be helpful, too. Also, when I install an updated LeeDroid ROM, I choose not to install YouTube during the Aroma setup process. Then through Magisk, I install the background YouTube module.
You can use Firefox with this plugin:

Also you can use Firefox in desktop version to let Youtube run in background.
