[Q] SGS2 factory unlocked upgrade to ICS

Hi there,
I've got a Samsung Galasy S2 factory unlocked that came shipped with GB 2.3.4. My question is, having bought that phone sim unlocked, can I flash any firmware available for that phone present in samfirmware? I'm fed up of waiting to get the official upgrade through kies, which is taking too long for spanish phones.
My main fears comes from flashing the phone with a non-free-sim firmware. Am I obbey to use, for flashing my phone, any Open Europe firmware if I want to keep having my phone sim unlocked? or could I in contrary flash it with any european firmware?
Thanks for your support.

Verizon HTC One M8 - kitkat 4.3.3 update

Hi everyone,
I was working in usa and I bought a cell phone verizon htc one m8, with kitkat 4.4.2.
Now, I'm living and working in Brazil.
When I try to update my kitkat, is blocked and this message appears: "Software update only work in CDMA mode".
Here in Brazil the service is GSM not CDMA.
Please, where I find the kitkat 4.4.3 (or upper) to do download and update?
And, how I do this? What is the procedure?
Recently, my cell phone reset to factory default, without my desire, by self!
I think that exist some serious problem in kitkat 4.4.2 to happen this.
Please, help me to solve this issue.
Best,
Daniel

Unlock your boot loader, flash a recovery and then flash a Rom or just connect to a WiFi network then Switch from gsm go cdma in settings

Your phone likely reset because you have a pin on the lock screen. Ten failures means it factory resets. They updated the lock screen now to avoid that.
Hi,
Thanks, for the tips...
The cell phone is working fine in GSM network, without problems.
I'd like to update to kitkat 4.4.3 (or upper), please, you know the link to download the OTA file and how install?
Thanks,
Daniel
If you want to update it without problems you will have to get software thru htc sync on pc.
Sent from my HTC6525LVW using XDA Free mobile app
Go to HTC website and download their Sync program. Connect your phone on USB and give it a few minutes. It should update.

Possible to flash unlocked Samsung Galaxy S6 G920A (AT&T) to G920T (T-Mobile)?

I own an unlocked Samsung G920A which I actually flashed to a G920AZ (Cricket Wireless (who is owned by AT&T)). I now want to flash to T-Mobile as I want to be able to 1. get Marshmallow. Cricket may never. 2. Be able to use WiFi calling and you can only do that with the TMO image (from what I read). I downloaded the G920TUVU3EPD1_G920TTMB3EPD1_G920TUVU3EPD1_HOME.tar and using Odin tried, but it fails.
Is it possible to flash to the T-Mobile firmware/ROM ?
If it is impossible, then I think I would want to go to the G920A again to get Marshmallow 6.0.1, then simply pop the T-Mobile SIM in, update APN, etc. Unfortunate though as the LTE bands all work. Seems sh***y it wouldn't work to use their firmware.

Unlocking problems with old phone.

Hi,
I'm currently trying to unlock the aging Samsung Galaxy 3 (i9300).
I currently don't have a phone, and so my girlfriend who has the s6 gave me her old s3.
It's on the orange network, and as said is the i9300 model, which is where the issue lies.
I'm from the UK, and instead of being locked to orange wanted to switch to the Giff Gaff network.
I first headed to their site which gave a rundown on how to unlock the S3 using the usual code you punch into the number pad, but found that I needed to be on an older operating system.
I was on Jelly bean 4.3 and needed to be on a 4.1 variant for this to work.
I downgraded to the 4.1 via the debugging menu and downloading the firmware from Samsungupdates.com and for some reason the firmware I downloaded for my region defaulted to the UK network 3's variant of 4.1.
Now that I was on 4.1, I went back to the unlock steps.
Typed in the code, followed all the steps, but then found out that the steps were for the i747 and not the i9300.
I looked online and came across an old thread on this forum from a few years ago on the subject, which talked about rooting the device and then using another app to do the job, but then others said this no longer worked after July 2013.
I'm not really sure what to do, or weather there's anything I can do.
I'm not even sure if I've messed it up by downgrading the firmware with it now for some reason booting as if the phone was on the three network and not orange.
I know it's an old and unsupported phone, but I was just wondering if anyone had any ideas of what I should do?
Thanks allot.

Unlocked AT&T Galaxy S7 Active to Verizon

So, these past couple of days I've been trying to find a way to get my unlocked ATT Galaxy S7 Active to work with Verizon.
Well, I have read and read and can't seem to get it done. I just realized that it was an "active" which means its not a normal galaxy S7, I guess. I have read that flashing with the U firmware would be best, but every time I've found one that I thought would work it never has. I've tried both on a mac using the ported version of odin for mac which I couldn't get to work at all. I have also tried going with the Oreo OS as well as the one before it, but the U versions firmware, and trying to install them with the Odin 3.13 software using Vmware and it just constantly fails. is it even possible to flash the firmware on this model?
I have he ATT Galaxy S7 Active Model number: SM-G891A

This is why i never buy branded phones!
The rubbish ATT&T active is on a GSM baseband and Verizon use CDMA so your phone won't work on Verizon until you unlock the CDMA radio software on the phone.
Finally got my g891a on verizon with stock rom and root
I would be really interested to see how you did it. I'm in that situation now. I have the G891A and my carrier is switching from running on ATT network to Verizon. I like this phone (I know it is getting some age on it) and it still does all I need/want and I really don't want to give it up.
