Weird problem with charging - Sprint Galaxy S 5 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

I have s5 for VM but there's this weird problems going on with it. here are the things I have installed
1.carbon ROM 5.1.1
2.open gapps mini
3.xposed framework SDK 22 79v
With that out of the way, there's this thing where when i turn the screen on while. Charging it goes black and its give that vibration that it restart but the screen stays black for a while and then the phone will get really hot while its doin that and this only happens if the battery is over 60%.
But when it reboots fully the battery will like at 50% or a bit lower I got battery replaced with a new one and still the same. I changed to many different ROMs but its still ends the same way

[Q] Backside IHO on optimus V causing random restarts and erratic battery readings?

I have an lg optimus v rooted and running the latest version of IHO backside cm7. ive been running this custom rom for about a year, updating up to the version i have now the whole way. since maybe the january updates my phone has been randomly restarting while using the phone. sometimes ill be on a call or opening facebook, or just playing music and the screen will go black and the lg logo will appear, then go away and the phone will turn off. ill try and boot the phone and it will show the lg logo and turn off again for a few times until finally it will boot properly. once it boots, the battery percentage will be about 15% instead of what it was before the random restart, usually near full charge. i noticed that if i just wait after it reboots randomly a couple of minutes with the phone off, it will boot up no problem but the random battery amount left will still change, sometimes much lower or higher % will be displayed. any recommendations? i want to reset battery stats but am not sure how to go about that properly. id like to do a wipe and clean install but also, ive never done that either. i also have clockworkmod recovery installed, and not the touch version. please help, my phone is pretty useless at this point im considering buying an extended life battery to see if its the battery but if i can avoid that even better. thanks everyone!

Battey shows "Unknown" and always at 0%

HI,
Looking for some help to get my nexus 5 working. The phones battery indicator is always at 0% not matter what I’ve tried (I’ve played youtube for like 3 hrs so I know there is juice in the battery)
[*]Whats wrong :
The phone battery indicator is always showing that it needs to be charged.
The phone battery indicator is always at 0%.
Settings -> Battery shows battery as “Unknown”
When powered on the screen does not show anything (you can tell its on cuz it connects to the computer. The battery cable has to be disconnected and reconnected as mentioned below to get the screen and phone working.)
Things done with no results
Swapped batteries from a working nexus.
Reinstalled stock ROM (L)
Left to charge overnight.
Cleaned cache from Recovery Mode
Used app to recalibrate the battery
The phone itself will boot up with a blank screen. I have to unplug the battery connector and then plug in the power USB. At this point it only shows the battery with flash. Its on for some seconds and the reboots over and over again.
I get it to work by connecting back the battery to the main board during one of the loops. (Sometimes holding the power +Volume up to get to the google display and then connecting)
Any help ??
When you installed L did you use the Google flash all bat file?
Sent from my Android L Nexus 5 via Tapatalk
Yes ..I ran the flash-all.bat
The phone itself was in Kit Kat when I got it with this issue. I tried it with L to see if the issue would go away.
Other than flashing 4.4.4 clean...with wipes and seeing how it is...it could be a hardware issue unfortunately.
You've discovered the holy grail of infinite battery usage? I'm not seeing any issue here. JK, it's probably a bug in the preview software as can be expected.
Could be a bad battery as well.
already tried that as well.
The phone boots up to a blank screen. Only way to see anything on the screen is to unplug and replug the battery wire. Then everythings normal up until you have to restart.

I am on the same page. My Nexus is showing same results. I have also replaced the battery with a new one. Only one thing different in mine, I started noticing signal drops then the radio completely started to went off. Now the battery is at 0% always whenever I get it to boot that is. Otherwise it's blank with vibrations.
A fix is in great need. Also, I have tried multiple ROMs right now I am on the latest L Build.
Can you replace your flex cable with a working Nexus and write the results? I think it might fix it from the hardware side. Where I live, the flex cable isn't available! :-/

Software & Charging Problem

Hi, I have a z3 d6653 my phone was constantly rebooting even though I know its a software thing as it has happened before and by flashing stock lp again it got fixed this time I ignored it and by letting the phone off as it's not my daily driver I wanted to see if itll settle by itself. It did settle and I used the phone till 4% but when i took it back it was off Im sure bc of it starting to reboot again so I wanted to charge it then fix it but after 1% charging it was constantly rebooting in charging mode so with that 1% I thought of booting into recovery and wiping only caches but during the operation it went off and now even though the led is showing like it's charging, it isn't actually so I decided to ask here if any of you can help me i.e know any way how to charge the battery..
Update: I have the back of the phone opened so I thought of unplugging the battery and plug it again but now it's worse not even the red led of charging doesn't turn on, I tried a few fixes but none is working..
Update 2: Like I mentioned I tried many fixes for soft/hard brick and many many others but non worked or at least I had no result but today I thought of charging the battery of my z3 in xperia e4g and after I did so the phone started normally and now its working perfectly, so happy I got it back ^_^

Nexus 5 turns on and randomly turns off in between boot and home screen

So I got this used Nexus 5 to play around with and there's an odd issue.
The phone appears to turn on normally and at cold boot it manages to go to the home screen of a freshly flashed slim rom. I can be there for a few seconds, then it'll randomly decide to shut off. I'm not sure but the temperature feeling from the back and screen feels hot to the touch. Meaning cpu temp is going high. My other nexus 5 doesn't appear to have that problem. The battery is acting weird as well. When I had the original battery on there it would just go to the google logo and would shut off right after. Should I plug in a brand new oem battery? I have a knock off battery and it worked fine on my other phone except the capacity was much lower. I thought it might be temperature related so I tried making an aluminium heat sink and thermal paste for the cpu, but nothing changes. I will link to video in a bit. Also the only way the phone responds after is by plugging in the phone cable to any power source. Don't judge the vertical framing it just happened. I tried to replicate it again all normal like and the phone stops at the 4 color dots and the phone shuts down as if the battery was removed. It doesn't respond until plugged into usb power.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4FMvVge9pPs&feature=youtu.be. I can't seem to post links yet, but this shows the issues I'm having.
*temperature seems to be 50c idle on the TWRP screen. While comparing to my other phone which is 30c. That seems off.
update: I fresh installed android 4.0 stock and I have to remove the battery ribbon cable and press it back in to get the phone to go home screen for about 5 seconds. the battery ribbon cable and the whole motherboard does seem to get very hot to the touch. What is happening? What could be eating up. Maybe that's why the phone is trying to shut itself down to prevent overheating damage.
there's no android 4.0 for nexus 5 :V oldest android for N5 is 4.4

Phones dead

Hi
I was charging my phone and it went dead black screen no boot at all
Any trick to wake it up, i have changed the battery with no luck
what could be the problem,
Did u pull the battery and boot that way, this happens to mine all the time, no clue why, its really pissing me off, i am rooted, not sure if u are,but this is gettin out of control, goes black and have to pull the battery to restart, the power button does nothing. Let me know if thats your issue aswell
Do you mean take the batterie out and put it in again and then start . This procedure have i tried many times with no luck
Yes I'm rooted I remember that it was on 50% when it goes black and I successfully got it booted again I did not know how I think it was luck, then I flashed the current stock rom but it went down again and now I can't get it to boot again, it's totally dead
when it happens to me, i could be in the middle of doing something or even if the phone is just in standby, but the strange thing is that its still technically connected to my samsung gear fit, its not til i take the battery out that it disconnects from it and then after puttin battery back in the phone reboots. its just strange, im hoping maybe its battery related so i have a few new batteries coming this week to check if thats the problem. the battery is still stock and doesnt look like its bloated but that was a issue with other batteries ive had in other phones causing it to turn off. THis site didnt have much info on the issue but google searchin for black screen on android had alot of other options
