xposed - AT&T LG G4

Well from what I'm seeing around here, xposed still needs to be installed via bootloader. That being said, ATT G4 does not have an unlocked bootloader as of yet. So... has anyone got it working? I would really love to have this back. I have been looking everywhere for these fixes, but looks as though we wont get it any time soon. I'm still thanking all of those peeps that work so hard of all of this stuff for us. Keep up the good work. We all enjoy this stuff.

If you get a rooted system image loaded, I used flashfire to flash xposed, does NOT need unlocked bootloader. The thread with how to do it is somewhere in the G4 section.

Oh kewl. U thought I read that flashfire needs an unlocked bootloader

Flashfire only needs root, bootloader can remain locked

Yeah my first time dealing with this. Got it all working now.

[Q] Ok to update after bootloader unlock and root?

Hey all,
Now that I have my phone rooted and unlocked, is it ok if I accept and install the latest OTA update? Is there any additional steps I need to take before or after?
use voodoo from the market to protect root and temp unroot while updating. also you have to be stock, with all the bloat apps installed and not frozen, or the update will fail.
ultimately the update will likely fail at the end anyways, but as long as it updates the baseband, that's all you really want out of it anyways.
Ok thanks. I will give it a try. Sounds like it will probably fail. LoL

i have taken the update about a dozen times no problem, and didn't loose root one time.
matts utility reverts to before the update (including the baseband), so there is really no danger as long as you are already unlocked.

[Q] Back to Verizon

I was recently informed that I might be able to get into the Edge Program with Verizon and have run into a dilemma. I am obviously rooted and cannot return my phone to my phone as is but if I am accepted into the program I will most likely have to trade my S3 in for whatever other phone I want. I have found other topics but haven't really gotten an updated answer. I need to flash my phone back to stock so I can potentially return it but all of these other rest guides don't tell me how to get the 4.3 update that the GS3 officially comes with if you were to buy it today from Verizon. Any help here?

But what if I am ineligible for the Edge and want to return back to root? This is telling me my bootloader will then be locked forever.

You asked how to get to 4.3 as of it were Ota'd by Verizon, that's the 4.3 update.
You can reroot but you can't unlock the bootloader, you should make sure you're eligible first before you flash that.

Ok sounds good, thank you! Another quick question though, is there even a point to re-rooting but having a locked bootloader? Or is rooting again useless after that?

rooted successfully via towelroot!!!

This is my first time posting so I figured sharing my successful attempt to root using towelroot would be a good starting point..
I realize someone may have already beat me to it but I wanted to let ppl know you should be able to root using the awesome new app towelroot. Things to consider though.. I was on 4.3 ML1.. This was very exciting for me as my PC will not recognize my siii so the fact I was able to do this straight from the device itself is just great news.. Didn't think I could root without a PC.. Well, until now.. This is SO AWESOME! now to install some xposed mods . Happy rooting v

confirmed... sch-i535 32gb, 4.3 vrucnc1.... verizon s3.. super easy to install although it does give you a warning to not install it... you gotta allow third party, but then ANOTHER thing pops saying they don't advise it... something i haven't seen before.. anyways i forced it to install.. ran it... 15 seconds after you hit the button it reboots... bam... rooted..
easiest root i've ever done.... used to having to odin... also, i used a third party root check to verify that it wasn't just teasing me... if i weren't unemployed and broke i'd definitely donate...

Not useless. Can root, remove bloat, use ad blocker, tether, some people are using xposed, etc. Just may not be able to run any custom ROMs yet. Safestrap may work to run custom ROMs, but I have not seen an NC1 kernel module. So you would not have WiFi running safestrap on NC1.

so i'm on the NC1 and i've rooted it sucessfully using another method and i was wondering if i use safestrap to use xposed will i have wifi issues?
or does installing another rom using safestrap kill the wifi?
final question: is safestrap the culprit for the wifi not working?
I've done this successfully however tethering is not working. Can anyone confirm? What do I need to do to get tethering working?

They will hardbrick if they attempt to install CWM or TWRP on TW 4.3 or KitKat firmware. Hasn't worked before when people tried using Odin or GooManager to install custom recoveries on VRUCML1 and I'm confident it will be the same result here. I need video proof proving the opposite.
If you are referring to Towelroot, yes this will work on all three.

i just did this on my new KK g2, already had 4.4.2 on it when i got it friday and i asked this question in another thread, but didnt get a response. so this method of rooting will not keep us from getting future OTAs but will more than likely loose root, is that what you are saying? and that this method may not work on say 4.4.3 or 4.4.4 (which just hit the nexus 5)?

Have had to revert back to stock multiple times because my phone wouldn't function properly. This is for TW 5.1.1. and will not work on 5.02. We need to pray someone comes up with a root method for 5.1.1 or they get exposed working on 5.0.x. The later seems unlikely and we can holy hope they figure out root on 5.1.1 for Verizon. Love this phone but the development limitations are a real bummer.

We've had locked bootloaders since the S3. We've managed to get root and Xposed on many devices. The S6 is a beast of a device, I'm surprised there isn't more work put into it. Because honestly, root is virtually useless right now. I am on rooted oc3, running Rick's ROM, and have a battery booster. That's bout all you can do. Root explorers are nice, if you have a reason. I am hoping for a break through. Patience is a virtue.
