Cricket LG G Stylo H634 ROOT - LG G Stylo Questions & Answers

Okay I have seen multiple of threads about rooting this phone, I have rooted the phone and it's fully working with Link2SD, I have been able to clear about 2 gigs of space with that method so I can install more apps on the sdcard
Kingroot is what will root the device, Version 4.6.5 and with software version H63410e, When you install this it will say there is no root available for this phone, hit the try anyways button and it will root the phone (I AM NOT RESPONSIBLE FOR ANY DAMAGED DEVICES PROCEED WITH CAUTION), If it ****s your phone up and soft or hard brick it you now have a expensive paper weight as there is no KDZ or Custom Recovery for the phone yet so don't ask for the KDZ they do not have it for cricket only tmobile and boost has them so do not ask about a KDZ for the cricket version it's not out there and chances are it's not going to get out there until cricket releases marshmallow for this phone so do not ask about it cause it's simply not there right now same for custom recovery and unlocked boot-loader it's just not there yet but you can root the device with kingroot 4.6.5 and use Link2SD, follow a youtube video on how to set up Link2sd, You will also need Aparted cause you have to delete the partitions on the sd card and make some partitions so the apps can be installed on it, I have restarted my phone many of times since rooting and have not been stuck on the boot logo of lg or cricket it just boots normally like it should
With that said you can root your device but be freaking careful on what you do as if you f it up there is no way to bring it back at this time, I would not recommend using any sort of flashing apps, or other rooting methods as I do not know what it will do and the reviews are touchy some have luck some don't so I just use Kingroot for the time being
I have also been able to shrink the main system to free up more internal phone memory link2sd and moving youtube, google maps, gmail, and some other's, I have not moved any lg apps or unistalled any lg apps as I am too scared to do it cause there is no recovery right now, Hope this helps

Do you have link2sd paid version, the big files apk are still on the phone internal data and you cant move it unless you have the paid version of Link2sd, But ill show you a video of my link2sd page so you have an idea of what apps I did switch to the sdcard
Now there are some apps on the device I'm scared to move on over due to not having custom recovery being the main problem and no kdz, So I did not move any lg apps and most of the android os files, If you have moved on over things I have not you should list them so we can build a list for this phone on what is safe to move on over and what is not, lets hope we don't find a what is not cause we would be screwed

Make sure you use SuperSu Me Pro from the play store. The freebies I found on the web really screwed up my phone. Factory reset would not work and I had to use the LG employee flash tool. Anyway, now it is OK.
Anyone try Flash fire with this phone? Can it make backups? How about Safestrap? I had that on my Samsung but I don't think this phone has fastboot or recovery. It's kind of an odd device that way.

Which tool did you use to partition your SD card?

I am tryin to jailbreak my cricket lg g stylo h634 phone so I cn use a different sim card

Apps2SD with Fresh 0.7 rom + blue theme?

I have the 0.7 rom load with both patchs and the blue theme, I want to try out apps 2 SD i just didnt know the best route in doing so, for it to work correctly with your rom. If i use the format function in the recovery menue would it automatically save my apps on the SD and work properly or would i have to reinstall them?

(I personally don't like apps2sd but if you really have that many apps...)
Yea. Backup your sd card (it will get wiped). Boot in to recovery and create swap+ext2+fat32 and then convert ext2 to ext3 (all are options in the recovery menu). It will move everything for you.
Why don't you like apps 2 sd? I just figure if you have that you won't have worry about internal memory if you wanted to have a lot o
PHP:

This is why he doesn't like it:

**My note about Apps2SD: I added support for it in this release of the rom because people who were using it in other roms that tried to install this rom were receiving errors. Here's my point of view on it.
I played with it for over 8 hours today between implementing it and then testing it to make sure this fix would work. I have personally come to not like apps2sd, but I am including it for those who use it.
The reason I don't like it is because it puts your phone at a huge risk of having problems once anything goes wrong. If you install a program that causes issues, a nandroid backup will not resolve the issue because the application is installed on your SD card not your phone. If your phone starts going crazy as reported here and here, then even just a restore possibly won't fix it. You might need to go as far as to wipe your SD card too. If you are lucky enough to have a restore fix your problems you will still need to reinstall every app, even if you didn't wipe your card. And on top of that when you try to reinstall any app it will think it's still installed, even though you restored your phone. But when you click "uninstall" it will just freeze half the time because there's nothing on the phone for it to actually install. I have also read many threads that say if you happen to boot the phone up without the SD card in then it will screw everything up.
So now maybe you are wondering why I would add Apps2SD support in this rom. In order for people who are currently using Apps2SD to upgrade to this rom I must support it or require them to do a hard reset before coming to fresh. Clearly I don't want you to have to reset so I have supported it. With that said: I personally recommend not using it. This rom will auto-use it if your SD card is formatted for it (fat32+ext2+swap partitions) but it won't use it if you are only partitioned as 1 fat32. My suggestion is to stick to the 1 partition and let your applications install on the phone. Linux is not like Windows in the sense that it will run the same whether you phone has 140 megs free of storage space or 10 megs free. So unless you plan on installing 100 apps, I don't see the practical purposes of using Apps2SD. But a lot of people like it.
Now with all of THAT said -- this rom officially has and supports Apps2SD. It is a program that I think has the possibility of being great, but has to work within the confines of the phone which means tricking Android in to thinking that the applications are installed on the phone when they aren't. That is what leads to all the problems mentioned above.

If i have apps2sd already from the previous rom i don't have to re-do it for the new one correct?
no you dont.
using apps2sd2 problems
I followed all the instructions here http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=5618439#post5618439 for apps2sd2 yet when I open the app, it STILL says Oops, you have to run through the tutorial to set it up. I've DONE THIS. I'm extermely frustrated. I have no idea what more to do. My sd card is partitioned correctly. I've run all the commands listed in that tutorial. PLS HELP! Also all my apps are showing in /system/sd/app AND data/app. Is this correct? Why won't Apps2sd2 work for me? I really need some troubleshooting help.
I have a rooted CMDA HTC Hero using the Fresh ROM. Also is there a way to still get Sprint TV using this ROM?
Fresh .7 doesn't support A2SD, only Fresh 1.0 & 1.1.

issue with my rooted ics pantech burst...

Im posting this here because there is no section for pantech burst. Not sure why. There isnt even a pantech section at all lol. Anyway i rooted it and for some reason when i try to move stuff to sd using link2sd i get a message saying insufficient_storage. but i have a 2gb sd in that has nothing on it. i tried 2 different sd cards in case maybe something was up with the card. Titanium gives an ok but then doesnt hold. In other words it says move was successful click ok. But then you click out and go back and the move was never done. Anyone know what could be up?
Idea!

Why don't you try a factory reset (if you are able to). Rooting your device could have caused the problem.
If this still doesn't work, you have voided your warranty because you rooted your device. Go and get it repaired (last resort)
um you cant move apps to sd unless you root. Well besides apps that let you of course. Ive never heard of rooting causing this issue. I can still move apps that let you normally. I just cant move anything you should be able to after root when using link2sd app and titanium backup. those 2 apps arent moving apps for some reason which is my issue. And they should be moving the apps ive tried because i have rooted 3 other phones and never ran into this issue even trying to move these same ones on other phones using the same ways of link2sd and or titanium. I bought the phone second hand so im not worried about warranty anyway.

Root and link to SD, or wait for Android M?

Do you think we'll get Android M soon? I'm asking because I was thinking on rooting my device to make a partition on my SD and link apps and data to it, but, supposedly, Android M will allow to "adopt storage", which is the same thing of linking files to SD (correct me if I'm wrong) without the need of root access .
So I don't know if it's recommended to wait for Android M and keep my bootloader locked (to preserve the warranty), or root my device in the meantime while we get M.
I'm not urgently needing more space right now, but I would like to have more space and download some games that I can't because of low internal memory.
Thanks. And sorry if I made mistakes, English isn't my native language
Android M should release in a couple of months, but Motorola needs also some time to make it work for our Moto g,
so if you realy want more storage you should root

This is true for me also, but I think those looking to link SD want to move the entire thing. For example Star Wars Commander moves to my SD, but there is still some stuff on the internal. If you look at the App info you can see it. For Commander for me: Total 380MB, External app 55.12MB, External data 263MB. So there is 61.88MB still on internal. Downloading a ton of apps will fill up storage quickly especially with huge apps like Facebook, CoC, Commander, etc.

[Completed] need help with a soft brick/bootloop on my lg l33l sunset

So i have an lg sunset, very nice phone. i rooted with kingroot and then i did a sd partition swap for ram. It didnt use my sd card as it should have and in result some how turned and took all my free and user storage space and put in into the system data folder. It just kept draining and draining and it got so low i had 1 mb of space left, absolutely ridiculous! i had no choice but a hard reset since it wouldn't let me do anything with it because the space was so low. Here is where the real problem comes in, a while below i did this with my sd card and the app i was using i deleted system app to space space but i also went into the system files with a root browser and deleted some of the system app's apks. so when the hard reset happened it wouldn't boot. well it did, sorta., after i used the hard reset menu i got it too the boot img and thats all it will go to, nothing past that, after i tried every attempt to get in to any other recovery mode i gave up since the the only one that is available on this phone is a hard reset menu, which i will attach a img that is of it below. that is the only recovery mode for this phone, i do not know alot about flashing roms and what not but i do know i would need a adb sideload type thing to even get TWRP on this phone and fix it. i think i need to flash new apps, i dont even think there is a download mode but still this is a pain in the arse, so thats my whole situation, is there any way to override this ****e and make it work? also would i t be possible to flash a kdz file without unlocking the bootloader? idk if there is anyway at this point and install TWRP and then gapps, any help with this would be a great help, thank you

[Completed] Internal storage at "1.8Gb total" was originally 4Gb!! Please help!

Hi I have a question about my rooted Alcatel One Touch Pop Astro Model 50042T. First off I have rooted phones and tablets and moded gaming systems so I have a general-intermediate understanding of the process of rooting but I'm pretty much lost after that. (Also I do NOT have ready access to a PC for the time being.)
So my main concern is that my phone should have 4gb of internal storage and it is only showing that I have 1.80gb!! I know that there are partitions or divvied space that are hidden or you need special permissions to edit. Is that the USB storage? If I'm wrong about that sorry, please correct me.
So my question is how do I reorganize, modify, or even delete hidden partitions? Anything to return my phones visible 1.80gb of storage to the original 4gb? I just need to be able to access it again to install apps on it. If the whole 4gb is impossible, can I get it back to the 3.7-3.8gb that was available when I first purchased it? Please help!!
Im not sure its completely rooted. Im running king root version 4.9.6 and Purify version 1.5.2.159 and I might have installed a custom ROM or kernel but I'm not entirely sure. I got the pphone approximately 3-4 months ago and I rooted it the same night. And I tried multiple versions of king root and other apps and eventually my phone storage disappeared.
•I would install a root checker if I had enough space.
•I used purify to get rid of apps that I figured were bloatware but I still only have 43.82mb available
•I have transferred every app to the SD card that can be stored there.(If there is way to store system apps and apps that usually can't be stored on external SD I would like to know.)
•Im sorry this is my second post of this. I'm really not sure if I posted this in the right place the first time.
Thank you for your help,
