[Completed] need help with a soft brick/bootloop on my lg l33l sunset - XDA Assist

So i have an lg sunset, very nice phone. i rooted with kingroot and then i did a sd partition swap for ram. It didnt use my sd card as it should have and in result some how turned and took all my free and user storage space and put in into the system data folder. It just kept draining and draining and it got so low i had 1 mb of space left, absolutely ridiculous! i had no choice but a hard reset since it wouldn't let me do anything with it because the space was so low. Here is where the real problem comes in, a while below i did this with my sd card and the app i was using i deleted system app to space space but i also went into the system files with a root browser and deleted some of the system app's apks. so when the hard reset happened it wouldn't boot. well it did, sorta., after i used the hard reset menu i got it too the boot img and thats all it will go to, nothing past that, after i tried every attempt to get in to any other recovery mode i gave up since the the only one that is available on this phone is a hard reset menu, which i will attach a img that is of it below. that is the only recovery mode for this phone, i do not know alot about flashing roms and what not but i do know i would need a adb sideload type thing to even get TWRP on this phone and fix it. i think i need to flash new apps, i dont even think there is a download mode but still this is a pain in the arse, so thats my whole situation, is there any way to override this ****e and make it work? also would i t be possible to flash a kdz file without unlocking the bootloader? idk if there is anyway at this point and install TWRP and then gapps, any help with this would be a great help, thank you

[Q] g2x reboot loop

Hi techie friends,
My unrooted g2x is stuck in a reboot loop. Before I do a hard reset (power/volume down), I would like to retrieve my photos, which are stored in the internal memory. Is there a way? [Here is what I tried so far: I tried a soft reset (battery out) with no success. I connected the g2x to my PC but it is invisible. I tried holding just the volume down key and got a "s/w upgrade, please wait while upgrading..." screen. Is there any hope to retrieve my photos? I googled the issue and found nothing useful.] Thank you in advance for trying to help me! Catherine
Im having the same issue on a friends G2X... nobody has the answer?
hmmmmm, this is an interesting one. the very first thing i would do is get that phone backed up. you will need to flash a custom recovery(clockwork mod) in order to make a backup. search the development section. once you have a backup on your sdcard, i'd copy it to my pc. thinking.......
from recovery, you can try "fix permissions".
reboot. if that doesn't work, go back to recovery>advanced>wipe dalvik cache. reboot. if that doesn't work, try recovery again>mounts and storage and mount everything listed. see if the drives open up under "my computer" on your pc. for me, that last option doesn't work. but it could just be my pc or my recovery version.
or, you could flash any rom you want, and then mount the phone to your pc. then try running a data recovery program on the internal sdcard.
http://www.cgsecurity.org/wiki/TestDisk
forget the link i posted above. it seems it has trouble reading the internal sd. but i'm running get data back right now. it seems like it's working fine. if these pictures are absolutely worth saving, you might have to dish out some cash for a data recovery app. but always use a trial version first to make sure it works. and once you flash a new rom, keep the phone off until you are ready to run a recovery app. the less that gets written to the drive, the better your chances for retrieving those pics.
or, you can try this... https://market.android.com/details?id=com.hexamob.hexamobrecoverypro&feature=search_result . you'll need to be rooted and have superuser app on your phone. but this looks like the cheapest alternative. i have never used it though. reviews look good though.
I'm pretty sure a hard reset doesn't touch anything located on the sdcard. Someone correct me if I'm wrong, but it should only format the 1GB partition where the android system is installed and apps are stored. You will basically be starting with a fresh install, but should still have anything stored on your sdcard still intact.

Hmmm,
Can't you just mount the internal memory via the latest Clockwork Recovery which is as I recall 4.0.0.2?
It worked the last time (the same option with the same trouble) on my Vibrant 3G

Actually, you are right. HR will not erase the SD content and I also think that it will leave the the internal NANDs partition intact. But I dont know where the pics in this case are stored.
Correct if I'm wrong.

Camera pics are stored under DCIM on the sdcard. Really any user created content/files (pics, music, videos, documents, etc) are on the memory card and shouldn't be touched by a hard reset. So I think youre in the clear if that's the route you go.

[Q] SD card 0.00 bytes free, device offline ?

I'm having problems guys
I don't know if I succesfully rooted my phone as when I ran ./root.sh through the linux debian terminal, I received multiple errors saying deivce offline
This also happened when I did Linux/adb reboot "Device offline"
I am now having the problem that my internal sdcard appears to be unusable as my phone keeps saying that is full though it must have over half of the 13gb free
I can access it through mass storage but I can't download/install anything as I apparently have no space
I have not had this problem before, if anyone can help I'd appreciate it.
adb can be weird. it doesn't get covered much on xda but you have to make a file called 70android.rules or something to that effect, I can give better details some other time, right now I can't remember the location or exactly what goes in it besides the samsung vendor id but it basically allows adb to see the phone.
if you have that setup then maybe there is another problem. not sure what issue you have with the sdcard but does it work from the phone and not through a data cable? vise versa? not working at all?
When I go through Settings-SD Card storage my SD card (internal) says that it is full though it's not!
Perhaps I don't understand what the "wipe data/factory reset" does on your phone through red recovery
p.s. If gou actually are running 3e would it say 3e recovery?
I can't install appa as my sd card is entirely full
I had unlocked my phone before through the same comp, I don't know why I am having problems.
Every time I root this phone I do something different everytime (I forget what I did last time)
Others have suggested doing an odin? This phone is a refurb it has many errors aside from freezing then vibrating- force closs
It is slow, sometimes when it freezes the icons (four main on home that you can't movebon stock rom) rotate an entire 90 degrees it's weird as hell
I wish I never sent my Infuse in b/c of the cracked screen I should have just gotten the screen fixed
Thanks for your response
try a factory rest through settings>privacy, then if that doesn't help do an Odin flash back to stock with repartition.
it seems rare on American devices but a lot of galaxy s devices have had trouble with the internal SD card going corrupt. in some cases its fixable but I'm not really sure if that's what's going on here.
Ok so I did reset through settings-privacy that did the trick
Now to start all over again...
I seem to be having a hard time finding the backed up files on Titanium...
oh [email protected] my bad....
I forgot to mention that the privacy reset formats the sdcard. part of why its often successful is that it'll fix certain issues with the SD card and it wipes app data saved to /sdcard/data/
titanium backup keeps the backups on the sdcard...

by the way, I think this reset option also erase everything on your external_SD as well. I found that out the hard way very early on.

[Q] 0.00B Available Storage

Right so I'm in a little bit of a pickle here.
I'll start from the top, a while back my friend game me his Thrill 4G p925 (Which for all intents and purposes seems to be the exact same as the p920). He attempted to root it and ended up bricking it and he wanted me to fix it, after a lot of tinkering I took a break, now after coming back to it I have gotten it out of the bootloop and it is now able to start up fine, with a couple problems. The first of which is that CWM repeatedly restarts every second or so when it is opened, so I can't do any tinkering there. And the second problem that has me completely stumped has to do with the internal phone storage. In storage settings the internal sd card displays 5.57GB as total space and 5.57GB as available space but the internal phone storage shows 0.00B of available space. I am completely unable to install any applications or try to do any tinkering to get the recovery working as I immediately get shut down by something saying there's insufficient storage space on the device. Would anyone be able to help me resolve this issue? I would upload a screencap to show what I mean but XDA won't let me post outside links on my thread yet.

I have almost the same problem. I used rom manager on rooted LG P920 optimus 3D with official Android 2.3.5 to wipe data/factory reset and wipe cache partition in recovery mode with success. When I was prompted to reboot system now, I did, but when my phone turned on, in Settings-->SD card and phone storage says "Internal phone storage: Available space 0.00B". I can't install anything either and my phone keeps saying something like "not enough free space, clean up your data and try again". How can I fix this? Can I use the link that you mentioned? http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2037287&nocache=1
Thanks in advance
I got the same issue when i installed Cyanogenmod nightly rom .. so what i did was wiped cache/delvik cache and factory reset . then i wiped system and internal sd card . then reflashed the rom but after 2 days it was the same issue. then i download the best of all Kings 3D rom v2.3 and redid the above steps and flashed this wonderful rom. my phone has been working awesome since then.

I have used Slim_minimal_gapps.4.4.3.build.5.8-60 and Slim-edison-4.4.3.build.5.8-UNOFFICIAL-20140610-1535

Try JB+ Camera , there's an storagepath option
I realllllly mess up this time, well i enter Recovery mode (with bmm) and format everything (i was crazy) then in only boot till the 4 options(pressing volume keys + power button Normal boot,Revocery,AP fastboot and BosstTool) and someone burrow me an SD to flash it, but it turns out that give me the error of signature(in update from external, that is in recovery mode) then i learn that i have to use Rsd lite, i download everything, but the phone goes off so i put it to wall charge and i woke and is like nothig (the moto logo goes and keep in that way) i try to conect it to the pc and it shut down, also chargin from pc gives the white led, after 15min the logo appear, and goes black screen, but when i press the power+volume it shut down and it goes only to the white led, should i wait more with pc charging right? im impatient jeje.
It is possible since i format everything the part of charging also i mess it? So that's why it won't charge? If that so what can i do? The only solution i figure it's to find someone with my phone and change battery to flash and see if that works, but again Venezuela it's not a place were it's easy to find solutions, in this case someone with the same model
Thats FXZ rigth?
@KPatrix thanks but before i mess it everything i download an app to view my storage and it turns out that internal storage(something for apps right?) appears not phone storage(i was reading and this is were user files go), so i figure that somehow i was needing to create phone storage and all i could found in google were post related to unistall and that kind of stuff so didn't work to me. In this point i was able to find a solution?

What a mess ...
If it's not convenient for you to get a fully charged battery, can you buy a multi-purpose battery charger in your country? We can buy it everywhere and it's very very cheap!
After that, you can start your steps:
1.flash stock ICS rom
(2.get root
3.install BMM
4.wipe data &cache &DalvikCache &battery status
5.install a Rom zip you like)
You can only do Step1 if you want to use ICS, which is far more stable than unoffical ROMs -few bugs. I think a stable OS is quite necessary for you as your surroundings.
Before you flash, read a guide, follow it strictly.
And, good luck to you!
@KPatrix thanks for that quick response! I use to have stock but i founded lagy and the moved to JB the leaked version and also founded laggy (i guess that was because all the chinesse/motorola blootware) i recover my phone hurray! Again i try with Slimkat and the same result says i have 5gb of free memory but only to apps :S so while i'm writing this i'm downloading liquid-Kit-Kat but i found a video, althought i'm goin to put it in System 1 i'm not planning to add more rom, and starting to think that it needs something more to put it right isn't?
Also forgot to mention the way i have fixed the battery problem was mutilating ans usb cable, and don't come to Venezuela, i've try searching a more easy option to fix and the answers were: "No hay" (There's not) or waaaaaay to expensive
It's again in SlimKat, i've try liquid and still have the same error! Anyone can help to use the internal storage not only apps, i like to save pictures/videos, and it's a problem probably with the roms, so that could be kikat? Please i don't want to use JB or ICS

Glad to see you've solved your other problems.
Unfortunately, this is one that you can't. That data partition that is not the same as having an internal SD card. It only stores apps, app data, etc.
That mean that is not possible to use Internal storage to save images after flashing with a custom rom? Or if i put it in another partition leaving the stock on SYstem 1 will work?
I give up, really, i put SlimKat on System 3 and still can't save images :S, but the main System can (ICS stock). So if there are not posibles solutions that doesn't imply buying something i'm done, thanks anyway for the answers, i will keep visiting this for a posible solution

Maybe your Atrix 2 is different from mine (AT&T) because the internal storage on mine is for apps and app data only. It won't save pictures, music videos, etc to that storage space. An external SD card is required for that.
Probably, mine is not an At&T version and i can use the remaining 4gb or to store apps and music but that only happens in ICS stock, on Slimkat unfortunatley i can't i will leave for a week or so to see if a i can't find a solution.
SOmethin that i forgot to mention on BMM says "unable to mount /int" it has something to do with my problem, then i flash it to stock->root->bmm and stil have the error :S, but it has something to do with that isn't?
Do i need a sd card on my (At&t) Atrix 2 to flash a rom. Im rooted but waiting for a sd card to come in. Can i just flash then insert the card afterwards.

If you have no SD card, where are you going to put the ROM zip that you intend to flash? The AT&T models definitely don't have an internal SD card so, unfortunately, you'll have to wait.

I'm not sure about that error. Try this (if possible both on stock and on custom ROMs) to look for your internal storage. Using a root enabled file explorer, go to the root of your device and look through the folders. There are a few places you're likely to find it. Could be one of the following, among other names.
/sdcard
/mnt/storage/sdcard
/storage/sdcard
/sdcard0
/mnt/storage/sdcard0
/storage/sdcard0
Also if it has both sdcard0 and sdcard1, then those will be your internal and external SD cards. Internal being the "0" and external being the "1". If it shows both then whichever your model is must have an internal SD card, and I will have learned something new. :sly:
I have /sdcard on stock and can access it appear whatssap, downloads, music etc... on the rom nothing appear and they have the iqual permissions.
I have to say that i'm going to debt to buy an SD of 8gb, in the next few weeks (this country is like this unfortunatly) but the doubt is interesting isn't? So thanks anyway!
Will slimkat go on my at&t a2 or do us at&t owners have to stick to certain roms?

[Completed] Get Data Back after DataDeleted+FactoryReset+NewStockROM+Root

The question:
Is it actually possible recovering your data on an android device after flashing it with a Stock ROM?
The reason:
The whole story is about to be told, and you know that you don't have to read it.
I went through a few days of hell (and apparently it's a waste of time) in learning how to get back my photos.
1. Lenovo Vibe P1 (16GB internal memory) with 64GB SD card, no root.
A lot of space and a lot of photos. "Job" Gallery, Personal Gallery, "Fun" Gallery.
I decided to keep my photos organized and moved my "Job" Gallery to my SD card, as well as all other files, that I wouldn't miss much if they would get lost, as it often happens with SD cards, I believe.
"Job" Gallery is what I sometimes have to show to people by actually giving them my phone.
In order to keep my Personal Gallery away from anyone I simply moved it into an internal memory Folder with a "." in it's name (Hidden or System Folder is what Android calls them).
2. Personal photos lost.
One of the popular "Cleaning\Boosting" Apps or Android itself (not sure by now) decides to give me an advice to wipe my "Photos Cache", which is what I did, sadly.
It turned out that it deleted my personal photos from the Hidden Folder.
3. Failed Recovery.
Downloading "Data Recovery" apps did not help much since most of them wanted a Rooted device.
And those that could work without Root some why just wouldn't locate anything from my Hidden Folder.
4. Failed Rooting = dead SDcard.
I already knew about how hard it is to root my device, not to mention that going Android6.0 made it even harder, so I never wanted to take that risk.
Now I sort of a had to try, since most of the data I really cared about was lost.
Downloading rooting apps and trying them out somehow killed my SDcard.
5. Failed SDcard Recovery = dead CardReader, dying HardDrive.
While using some Data Recovery software on my PC with SDcard plugged via CardReader, something apparently went wrong and my HardDrive started having one of those dying sounds.
It still worked though, so I could spend some time browsing the recovered SDcard data.
Sadly, those files where unreadable, probably because the recovery software was trial, so it made all of them "Unreadable Before You Pay", hard to tell by now.
I decided to try another Recovery Tool, ignoring the HardDrive issue for now, but my CardReader or the SDcard or both appeared to be dead.
6. Bricking the Vibe.
After spending some time doing backups of my dying HardDrive data, I returned to Rooting my smartphone, but by "manual" methods this time.
Trying all of those scary weird methods while actually learning all the stuff about "flashing" led me into bricking my device.
7. Failed Rooted Recovery.
Somehow, by following few guides, I finally managed to do everything correct (I hope).
I mean, unlocking bootloader by fastboot, gaining temporary root by ADB, flashing TWRP recovery and Stock ROM by QFIL, installing SuperSU, and actually rooting the device.
Right after, I downloaded a bunch of recovery apps to try again, but all of the photos and pictures, found by scanning, were useless.
Even those results before rooting were much better.
8. Failed RAW Recovery.
Surfing different forums, led me to a guide about using PC recovery tools on an Android RAW image.
While surfing, I have already tried about five PC-Android recovery tools and they didn't help much, but I decided to try it anyway.
By using BusyBox, Cygwin, NetCat, ADB, VhdxTool, I made a RAW image of my internal memory partition, converted it into a VHD and mounted it for scanning.
After using about 25-30 recovery tools I did not find any of those desired lost photos.
Scanning results on jpegs are pretty much the same for each tool.
Thank you for reading if you decided to do so anyway.
I also found others who did try to recover their precious data, like I did (after flashing and going through all the problems with rooting and getting a RAW file).
It seems like they all failed as well, so the question is - is it actually possible?
I know it's much easier with an HDD, since I know that those mansions usually keep ghosts for years, while Android totally exhausted and after all, killed me.
I really need help with this, since I see no more ways to try. If you have any advice, please share.
P.S. I'm sorry for my english, not native.
