HTC A9 Demo Phone - HTC One A9

Hey all,
I have been given an A9 to use through work (I work for a European cellphone company), but its a device that was originally a demo phone in stores.
I can not remove demo mode, noatter what I try. I have factory reset the phone, but its goes back to demo n boot. I flashed a stock RUU (matching CID) but again, demo mode is reinstalled after first boot.
Anyone know what I'm doing wrong?

Check my guide on how to remove demo mode.

Hi,
As long as they are the same model you won't have any problems. Worst case scenario download the stock ROM for your country as well and flash it back.
All the best,
~Lord
I have 920f XEF i flashed UK firemware and all ok then after 48h my phone restarted now i lost imei ! Now i learned in hard way never flash other roms on a phone because thats why they made difrent ROMs difrent models...i didnt make backup now i fixed it with octoplus(10bucks) with difrent imei RDK binary missed up signal drops time to time
My unit is Sun locked philippine variant SM-G920F.. flashed the france firmware.. everything went okay.. booted up.. i factory reset the device from the stock recovery. After booting up it ask for the unlock network key.. what should i do? Cant txt or call.. but my imei is still intact..

Either call the carrier for code or try flashing back the original Rom.

From the US and have a SM-G920I

just recently bought a SM-G920I which is an international version of the S6, India to be exact. but i have this through a local carrier in my area. i dont know what is been done to it, but i tried updating through OTA and it prompted me that the OS have been altered, i did notice superuser installed when i bought this phone. note: that i purchased this phone at a place where phones get fixed and traded. so i'm really not sure what has been done to it, by pervious owner or cell service provider.
but it does say "seandroid is not locked" or something like that when phone is being booted and it's at the boot logo
i wonder if i can just flash it back to original stock state and not have any issues?
Those red letters are because the rooted procedure has maybe change kernel.
If you download a fresh firmware for 920i like TTT for instance or the very same from India you will not have any problem though maybe the Knox is already triped
Try flashing a new firmware and perform a factory reset after . That way you won't have any trouble

okay thanks, reason why i was asking is because theres a bug with power button, after 5 to 10 minutes the power button wont turn the screen on or off and right now i cant get into "download mode" goes straight to the recovery, any thoughts?....
1st G920i is not International version. The International model is G920f. Secondly, you have been cheated with a rooted phone. If you are not into custom roms etc. Suggest to return it. As rooted phones have issues with Doze on MM.

international or not, and i don't mind having a rooted a phone, but i do have a problem with not being able to shut the screen on or off with the power button, and also the home button is acting the same as the power botton
ive downloaded the proper firmware for SM-G920I and Obin but nothins is happening, it says fail, because it connect to "com(4) port" something like that
Check if the recovery let's you reboot the phone in download mode. Then you can flash the firmware through Odin.
Once you have all installed you can try downloading an app to lock the screen directly from the app widget

Hi
How you know the phone "thinks" is rooted?
What phone do you have?
What firmware did you flash and how?
In Sammobile you can filter by phone model , country and carrier.......
Cant remember which firmware it was on either Croatia or Poland or something European but not uk ..as im in the uk i thought it would be ok to flash a uk firmware on it. first thing i noticed the keyboard didnt work properly. but sorted that with another keyboard. loaded samsung secure folder and it says secure folder can not be set up because unauthorised software was installed on the device. went to smart switch for firmware says phone is rooted and can not proceed. just want to know how to find out which country firmware it should be on so i can put it back right.
thanks carl.

Hi mate
The phone does not care what firmware you put on it , it just care is put in the right way i asked you before:
How you know the phone "thinks" is rooted?
What firmware did you flash and how?

You did not reply yet, must like it something went wrong when you flashed the UK firmware
Depending on what firmware and CSC you apply you may have some features enable or not , 99% of the firmware is the same for all countries
Flashd with odin with uk firmware for the g930f.. Im in the uk with an ulocked phone... The secure folder wont wrk says i have invalid software ware on it. Just that i factory reset so no invalid software.. Ta

No all the files..there are 5 files
AP , BL , CP CSC and home_csc use CSC or hom_cs not both , CSC will reset your phone

Flashing different firmware

Is it possible to flash a different firmware, without losing the DRM and Sony specific functions?
I have a Vodafone bought one, which is currently on a old firmware (58.0.A.10.21), would like to get rid off the Vodafone branded one.
Yes.
Stock firmware, no matter which region/version/branded or unbranded can be flashed without unlocking bootloader by using Flashtool or Newflasher. As long as the bootloader remain locked you won't lose any Sony's DRM keys.

I used on my old Sonys the Flashtool, but going to try out the Newflasher, because the Flashtools changelog does not show the new Xperia 5 II.
Any chance to flash 52 model firmware on a 72 model phone?
Or it will be bricked?
Already flashed your device?
Got mine also mine from vodafone and flashed the eu firmware without a problem using newsflasher. Just needed to install the universal fastboot driver in the device manager.
Looks like everything went fine. I just needed to deactivate facebook, linkedin and cod through adb

Hey there, how did you manage to fix it? Mine says it failed, or some bulls..t about the battery that needs to be charged. I mean , how can I charge the battery, if the phone is bricked..?! So, how did you manage to use the repair tool?
Thank you!

Bought the phone last week and the Android 11 update was ready, so I installed it without a second thought. After digging a little bit online I found out that a lot of stuff worked better on A10(app switching, power button menu, media notifications, less ram & storage usage etc.). There was no A10 firmware available on Xperifirm for the 72 model so I downloaded and flashed the 52 firmware

XQ-AS52 - Has anyone successfully updated from Vodafone UK to Customized UK?

Did you use anything else other than XperiFirm_v5.5.0 and XperiFirm_v5.5.0?
I've been out of the phone flashing / rooting game for years so I just want to make sure I am doing it correctly.
What's the difference in the 2? I'm on Vodafone and the only crapware I can see is the Vodafone app which I actually use
