Hi
How you know the phone "thinks" is rooted?
What phone do you have?
What firmware did you flash and how?
In Sammobile you can filter by phone model , country and carrier.......
Cant remember which firmware it was on either Croatia or Poland or something European but not uk ..as im in the uk i thought it would be ok to flash a uk firmware on it. first thing i noticed the keyboard didnt work properly. but sorted that with another keyboard. loaded samsung secure folder and it says secure folder can not be set up because unauthorised software was installed on the device. went to smart switch for firmware says phone is rooted and can not proceed. just want to know how to find out which country firmware it should be on so i can put it back right.
thanks carl.

Hi mate
The phone does not care what firmware you put on it , it just care is put in the right way i asked you before:
How you know the phone "thinks" is rooted?
What firmware did you flash and how?

You did not reply yet, must like it something went wrong when you flashed the UK firmware
Depending on what firmware and CSC you apply you may have some features enable or not , 99% of the firmware is the same for all countries
Flashd with odin with uk firmware for the g930f.. Im in the uk with an ulocked phone... The secure folder wont wrk says i have invalid software ware on it. Just that i factory reset so no invalid software.. Ta

No all the files..there are 5 files
AP , BL , CP CSC and home_csc use CSC or hom_cs not both , CSC will reset your phone

I bought my S6 in Colombia although I live in Panama. It is the SM-G920I.
I found that a Panama app I wanted to install would not install because it said the country was wrong. I guess that may be something to do with the CSC. I had naively assumed the phones in Colombia would be the same as the phones available in Panama. I now see from Sammobile that there are different firmwares for Colombia and Panama. So I downloaded the Panama firmware and installed it with Odin. Odin did its stuff and said that the installation was successful. Both firmwares are 5.0.2.
However, when the phone rebooted it was exactly the same as before and PhoneInfo still shows it as having the Colombian firmware. The only change was that I lost my Pingpong root.
Sorry for the long explanation but what have I done wrong? How can I get the Panama firmware on the phone?
TIA

You Need to download another firmware, i recommend to you to download the Trinidad And Tobago firmware, i tell you because latin america has csc codes for many countries but if your country does not have csc code it sets to latin american firmware because of your EFS Folder, if it doesnt work to you please download a firmware from France or Spain. if you doesnt want to lose pingpong root do not upgrade to a kernel made after 15 May 2015
Please do not upgrate to 5.1.1 Firmware it Sucks

Thanks. I will give that a try. Would it be the CSC that is stopping the app I want from installing, saying it is the wrong country?
If so, is there an easier why just to change the CSC? I have done some searching but everything I've found seems to be quite old and probably not working for Lollipop.

Try this to change your csc code:
1. type in the dialer *#06#, copy ur IMEI
2. type in the dialer *#272*IMEI HERE and add a #
IT WILL WIPE YOUR DATA

Thanks but that doesn't work. I get Unknown Application. I think that doesn't work on the S6. I also tried using Phone Info to change the CSC but that also doesn't seem to be compatible with the S6 even though it shows my firmware is multi-CSC.

Sorry but what do you mean do not let to install csc files? I did stop Odin auto-rebooting and went to recovery but that didn't seem to help. How do I stop it installing the wrong CSC files?
If I was willing to lose warranty now, would installing TWRP and maybe a custom ROM make it easier to change the CSC?
Thanks.

I am stuck in BNG csc code and i cant change it because i need to Trip KNOX, but i changed my csc code From ING to BNG.
- When odin finish flashing if Auto-Reboot option is ticked, your samsung will reboot and it shows a Android robot instaling something and later says Erasing... you cant let this happen, untick auto reboot and you need to reboot your galaxy in recovery mode and it will show CSC Check Failed and you have to wipe data and shutdown your device and enter in download mode and reflash the firmware. It worked for me.
if you trip knox and you install twrp it will be easier because you can install a custom rom and change your csc code rooted.

Thanks for all the advice. I am away for a few days so cannot risk reflashing my phone until I get back home. Will try again then.
hello,
i rooted my galaxy s7 [G930f] from here http://forum.xda-developers.com/gal...rp-herolte-t3333770/post65771911#post65771911
now i want to flash it back to stock firmware
how to return back ?
is flashing stock rom from samfirmware with odin enough for that ?
or just flashing stock rom from samfirmware may bring my set to bootloop ?
need help plz
Why would flashing a stock ROM get you into a bootloop?! Download you corresponding stock from http://www.sammobile.com/firmwares/database/SM-G930F/, flash via ODIN and you're done.
I'm in the same boat as OP and have an additional question. When I flash the stock ROM (I'm assuming the AP part), will that wipe out my data?
I'm trying to unroot so I can try out Android Pay for a week. I had xposed before and rooted. I already tried uninstalling xposed and using the SuperSu uninstaller but Android Pay is still detecting that my phone is modified. So I'm looking into reflashing stock, but I"d rather keep my data if possible.
Here is a much faster download link for the latest Stock ROM.
https://mega.nz/#!11l1xbaA!Q95jgGwxhCAkSpNR4scFnO-ulF-ybRDm2G4ZTuAACYA
New S7 zip from sammobile has 5 files. You must flash 4 with Odin. AP,CL,BL,CSC . not home CSC. It reformats and wipes the device. Totally stock after that except triggered knox
Στάλθηκε από το SM-G930F μου χρησιμοποιώντας Tapatalk
Edit. Above link has latest UK BTU ROM.
It's perfect to flash with that
What if you just want to install another region firmware, will this change your csc so you can get updates from that region?, Installing the firmware from another region will trigger knox?, its so confusing with the new 5 files firmware now..

If u flash AP_G930* / BL_G930* / CP_G930* / CSC_***_G930* and ignore HOME_CSC_***_G930* u will :
* Get the CSC of the rom u flashed if it is single CSC
* Get the default CSC if it`s a multi CSC rom ( will not be the one which is stated as country when u download )
* Wipe ALL your data fresh
* Not trigger Knox status
I just flashed my duos with XEU ( Single CSC rom ) G930FXXU1APD3

I don`t really know what u want to do .
LTE = 4G.
If u flash first 4 files u will be ok, just ignore the 5`th one
U need to manually edit the fifth in a linux environment so don`t bother with it
Usually it is better to flash a rom closer to the country u live in, and i think u don`t live in Kenya

This i don`t know. Not sure which icon i have on my XEU ( UK / Ireland - very clean rom not much bloat, not branded ) version because in my city i don`t have 4G. On previous phone S4 mini duos, people from US used roms from Europe and was ok. I was going to recommend some Brazil rom since is closer to u, but not sure which one is better in US.
Or u can try the ones branded for T-Mobile Europe like Austria MAX , Croatia CRO , Germany DTM , Poland TPL etc.
I've been thru this paradox before.. Hahaa'
I am Brazilian but now living in Ireland, I've always used BTU ROMs before back in Brazil, but since I move to Europe I am using XEU, which is one of the best if you're living in Europe.. cause receive updates really quick from Samsung as it is for Unbranded phones in Ireland and UK!
I've used to live in US before, New England area.. always had TTT (Trinidad e Tobago) ROMs, is such a small country in Central America but they always received updates from Samsung as soon as they're released!
That's the one I'll highly recommend for you.. TTT!
@iScott78
XEO version have this in CSC others.xml : <CscFeature_SystemUI_ConfigOverrideDataIcon>LTE</CscFeature_SystemUI_ConfigOverrideDataIcon>

Hi guys,
i got a branding free Galaxy S7 and found out that i got an ATO firmware installed (phone is from Austria) so I am thinking about to upload the same firmware but in DBT (for Germany).
can this be achieved without loosing any data / apps on the phone or will this result in a factory reset?
I only want to have this regarding the OTA Android 7 update around the corner ... I guess its not really needed to be honest...
Thanks for your answers.!

Count on factory resetting your phone. Did mine recently and it was worth reinstalling all apps (you can use Samsung backup but it restores not all settings within all apps) just love the new nougat ?

The change you need to have done is the CSC, this can be done by flashing your desired locations CSC by flashing it through Odin while phone is on download mode. You can find CSC for your desired firmware/location by browsing on SamMobile.
When the firmware zip downloads; extract it and then when on Odin program on your PC, click on the CSC button and locate the file called 'HOME_CSC'
The reason to why you choose Home CSC is because it will keep all your data on your phone.
Good luck and tell me how it goes
Sent from my SM-G930F using XDA Labs
Thanks mate!
Is there any well working tool for backing up data like contacts/messages/pictures just for the worst scenario?
I am aware that thate from APPs might be an issue but it like a full factory reset then ...
André
I am also stuck to the ATO open austria firmware and wondering WHY nearly all carriers here in austria got the nougat update but the open austria did not?? I thought the carriers will update later because they have to modify the firmware with their apps and logos etc..
i install btu and today i see that vodafone spain has nougat, do you know if i install vodafone spain and install super stock 2.2.0 is gonna work.

Hi, I recently tried to get my phone unlocked. I watched the guy do it, he flashed an older modem and then flashed a UAE firmware.
My original is O2 UK, and I'd like to revert to this firmware as the About Device section shows up with Unted Arab Emirates and the mobile networks section shows LTE rather than 4G.
I have tried flashing the latest revision of the O2 stock rom and odin fails attempting to write sboot.bin with the error message SW Rev. fail (I don't recall the exact numbers after this) appearing on the phone.
I am guessing this is the secure boot loader, which I am aware you can't downgrade, but is there any way of flashing this stock rom since I know it is compatible with the phone?
Try to flash G920FXXU5DQA7 (CSC code:BTU)

You could possibly use smartswitch if you have the serial number of the phone which would download the default firmware that the phone came with if odin fails again
Yes i agree, smartswitch could be your best option.
Thanks for the suggestions. Tried Smart Switch, same error. It appears on the phone as sw rev. check fail.
What exactly is the problem here? Is it that the installed firmware has a newer bootloader than the most recent O2 firmware? In which case is there any way around it?

Yeah looks like this is a bootloader issue, it won't let you install a firmware which contains an older bootloader, only thing I can is to download the latest non branded UK firmware and see if that flashes.
I'm getting this error too with Device 4 Binary 3 but i didn't find the right firmware yet
I hope in Nougat release

Samsung updated their bootloaders to 4XX in September/October so you cant flash back an older one or downgrade,so the only solution you have is to flash the new one which is 5XX released this year.
