Hi,
As long as they are the same model you won't have any problems. Worst case scenario download the stock ROM for your country as well and flash it back.
All the best,
~Lord

I have 920f XEF i flashed UK firemware and all ok then after 48h my phone restarted now i lost imei ! Now i learned in hard way never flash other roms on a phone because thats why they made difrent ROMs difrent models...i didnt make backup now i fixed it with octoplus(10bucks) with difrent imei RDK binary missed up signal drops time to time

My unit is Sun locked philippine variant SM-G920F.. flashed the france firmware.. everything went okay.. booted up.. i factory reset the device from the stock recovery. After booting up it ask for the unlock network key.. what should i do? Cant txt or call.. but my imei is still intact..

Either call the carrier for code or try flashing back the original Rom.

Hey All,
Just bought a second hand s6 g920 and the back of the phone says g920F but the software on it says G920p. How can this even happen and how can i fix it?
i'd rather have g920F firmware as that is the international one and has more xda community support.
thanks in advance
Same problem... can anyone help?

DOWNLOAD FIRMWARE OF SM-G920F from sammobile.com and flash it thorugh odian. it is quite easy.
most likely the previous owner has damaged the phone and back glass was replaced.
Put phone in download mode anf check the model number (it cannot be changed ).. Its easy .. Just use a little your brain...

well... flashed stock g920p firmware through odin, it boots quite fine but with changed imei (it shows s5 when i search imei online... network/data works fine)... g920f firmware flash fails.... also samsung s/n is 000000... restoring efs also doesnt help... flashed back to the software with which it came.. imei back to g920f... s/n still 00000... bootloader g920p... recovery g920p... kernel g920p... baseband g920f... build g920f... anyone???

From the US and have a SM-G920I

just recently bought a SM-G920I which is an international version of the S6, India to be exact. but i have this through a local carrier in my area. i dont know what is been done to it, but i tried updating through OTA and it prompted me that the OS have been altered, i did notice superuser installed when i bought this phone. note: that i purchased this phone at a place where phones get fixed and traded. so i'm really not sure what has been done to it, by pervious owner or cell service provider.
but it does say "seandroid is not locked" or something like that when phone is being booted and it's at the boot logo
i wonder if i can just flash it back to original stock state and not have any issues?
Those red letters are because the rooted procedure has maybe change kernel.
If you download a fresh firmware for 920i like TTT for instance or the very same from India you will not have any problem though maybe the Knox is already triped
Try flashing a new firmware and perform a factory reset after . That way you won't have any trouble

okay thanks, reason why i was asking is because theres a bug with power button, after 5 to 10 minutes the power button wont turn the screen on or off and right now i cant get into "download mode" goes straight to the recovery, any thoughts?....
1st G920i is not International version. The International model is G920f. Secondly, you have been cheated with a rooted phone. If you are not into custom roms etc. Suggest to return it. As rooted phones have issues with Doze on MM.

international or not, and i don't mind having a rooted a phone, but i do have a problem with not being able to shut the screen on or off with the power button, and also the home button is acting the same as the power botton
ive downloaded the proper firmware for SM-G920I and Obin but nothins is happening, it says fail, because it connect to "com(4) port" something like that
Check if the recovery let's you reboot the phone in download mode. Then you can flash the firmware through Odin.
Once you have all installed you can try downloading an app to lock the screen directly from the app widget

Lost IMEI and baseband numbers after flashing custom software. Help with restoring.

Hi, I flashed xtrestolite on my phone and after booting up both my imei and baseband numbers became unknown; I now can't connect to my mobile network as my phone doesn't detect my sim.
I've tried to fix this issue by flashing other roms as well as flashing various official firmwares downloaded from sammobile to no avail.
I remember having the same issue with my gs3 and fixed it by flashing cyanogenmod. I tried this as well but the phone wouldn't boot up after flashing the unofficial version.
Could someone please help me with fixing this as I've been trying to for 3 weeks now.
Device: s6 edge g925f (vodafone uk) 6.0.1

The phone originally for vodafone uk and you flashed the latest firmware on it?. I think nothing can be done except restoring the imei from backup manually.

The phone was on version 6.0.1 and I flashed the same firmware versions. I deleted the backup of the original firmware unfortunately. So does this mean that nothing can be done to fix the phone?

Try reinitialize the phone using smart switch. Hopefully it could fix the broken imei. Flashing the correct firmware(odin/smart switch) sometimes helps to restore imei.

No, that would 100% lead to a brick. If you're looking for a way to bypass the locked bootloader in order to flash TWRP, give up on that idea. There is no way around the locked bootloader on Verizon Samsung devices, many people have tried many, many, many different things, everything and anything you can possibly think of and absolutely nothing works. Flashing stuff isn't going to change that.

920v is a Verizon device, the Verizon stock firmware should have 4G LTE. What issues are you having? If you're on Verizon stock firmware and have a 4G LTE SIM inserted, you should be getting 4G service.
If you're using the device in a different country, you probably won't get the 4G working.
The only thing I can think of is, find out which 4G radio bands your service provider uses, them do some searching see which 920 firmware(s) support those 4G radio bands, then download the firmware and extract the modem.img from the firnware, then convert the modem.img into an Odin flashable .tar.md5 then flash the modem via Odin.

After flashing the stock firmware, have you tried booting to stock recovery and factory reset in recovery then wipe cache partition?
Check to verify that your IMEI still displays in system settings.

The model # shown in download mode is the model # for the motherboard in the phone.
Looks like the sm-930k does not support dual sim: https://www.phonemore.com/samsung-galaxy-s7-sm-g930k/specs/3319
Why did you flash different firmware?

Both sim slots could be used at the same time?
Sounds like the phone may have been put together using different parts.
The 930F and 930k are not the same phone.

Unfortunately, Odin will not let you cross-flash bootloaders or ROMs. Cross-flashing may even brick the phone.
I recommend returning the phone as soon as possible.

thanks mate your reply's where very helpful
I will do that .. it's my only option
I searched and it seems to me that they were installing a custom rom !
becouse I did install a custom rom and it worked fine before flashing the phone with the SM-G930K
so I will install this one :
https://forum.xda-developers.com/galaxy-s7/development/rom-superstoc-rom-v1-0-aroma-t3496520
Good luck. Please report back with your results.
Thanks.
- Update -
I just installed TWRP for SM-G930F :
twrp-3.2.3-0-herolte
and then I add the the custom rom :
SuperMan-Rom SM-G930F V3.0.1_O_Final
and now everything is working fine even the sound and duel sim is working too
if we recap on this phone on the back of the phone it said SM-G930FD
and in Samsung download mode is said : SM-G930K
and on the operation system I am using a custom rom that said SM-G930K
by the way I am stuck with the TWRP can I flash back only the stock bootloader ?

You can but changing only the bootloader may cause problems with the installed ROM.
You should only install bootloaders that are meant for the phone model number that is shown on the download screen. Never try to downgrade the bootloader to an earlier version because this may cause additional problems that include bricking the phone.
