Hi,
yesterday I switched from LP to MM. Everything was great till I decided to instal supersu. Unfortunately I forgot to check what version should I get and installed the same I've got on LP. The device didn't boot so i tried to revert to stock. Still no luck, so I decided to relock bl - after that it switched on.
Stock LP isn't what I like the most, so I tried to install custom MM again. The point is that I can't install TWRP - fastboot says "OKAY" but i can't enter recovery. I tried to install rom by just opening twrp (fastboot boot xxx.img) and it worked but I would like to be rooted (what I suppose can't be achieved without custom recovery). Please help
ok, finally solved.
1) revert to stock 4.4 ( http://forum.xda-developers.com/moto-g/general/index-moto-g-falcon-factory-firmware-t3110795 )
2) install CWM using Moto G 4G EasyRecovery Toolkit ( http://forum.xda-developers.com/moto-g/4g-development/moto-g-4g-easyrecovery-toolkit-t2856710 )
3) flash TWRP in fastboot
4) using TWRP install 5.1 optimized + radio firmware ( http://forum.xda-developers.com/moto-g/4g-development/rom-stock-motorola-4g-lollipop-rom-t3142816 )
5) get rid of bootlogo warning ( http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=60865227&postcount=14 )
6) make nandroid backup

I had kitkat 4.4.4 stock rom with CWM and root. I messed with skinning apps and lost navigation and status bars so i was able restore to 4.4.4 stock rom but phone wont re-root nor load cwm / twrp recoveries. Every time i try pushing recovery via Moto tool or fast boot the phone reboots. same thing with root.
I was able to install and old version of TWRP but that caused a boot loop.
Is there a low level format or linux command line / DFS guide i can use to restore it to "new out of box state"?
Did you locked your bootloader again?
Some tutorial to restore stock ROM include command to lock bootloader
Check that.
I pushed an old version of chainfire SU via fastboot and flashed newest version CWM recovery through Flashify app.
Removing the boot animation gave time to side load kernal / radio and wipe dalvik cache.
Is this to state there is a way to root the CDMA Verizon with 4.4.4 ?
hello all,
I need some help here; never seen this before and it's wierd.
I got a replacement HTC OneM8 (Verizon) yesterday, today I tried to setup with a copy of my Viper rom (5.01) but phone came with Android 4.4.4 so I did the following:
• used "sunshine" to unlock the bootloader and install SuperSU.
• install TWRP version 2.8.7.0
• backup stock rooted rom
• install lollipop vzw firmaware
all the steps completed successfully
Now my phone is all weird:
If I boot to bootloader it works fine but if I select "recovery" phone goes to TWRP Recovery v2.8.6.1 FROM here (recovery) any option that I choose to reboot the phone reboots to TWRP v2.8.7 even if I asked to reboot system.
I can never boot to the phone itself (system).
I want to completely remove TWRP 2.8.7 and keep TWRP v2.8.6.1
I already tried to flash the recovery over (was successful) but I'm still with this issue.

This should be moved to Q&A section not Development.
But I would run the latest RUU.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/ver...zw-m8-master-ruu-firmware-collection-t2946473
then re-flash (I suggest fastboot) TWRP recovery 2.8.6.1

I already completed those steps and when I reboot my phone still shows TWRP 2.8.7...... is there a way to manually delete the recovery

Flash the firmware.. Has stock recovery. If it boots to twrp after that, you're doing it wrong.

the first couples times I did, I choose the firmware "m8vzw_AllInOne_Firmware" and " 4.17.605.9 Modified Firmware ".... both did not work in my case but then I did again with full wipe firmware "4.17.605.9 Full Firmware" and did work.... I didn't have nothing on my phone anyway so, the full firmware which wiped worked..
Thanks
This is complete stock V15 ROM for E030U, The ROM includes stock V15 boot.img.
The purpose of this ROM is to allow anyone with E030U to upgrade their current version to the latest official ROM.
Or to fix a damaged device.
This ROM will be needed in the future if BLU decides to upgrade to android 6, I have no way of knowing if they are going to or not, BLU may choose not to upgrade this phone to android 6.
You don't have to install this ROM, you can continue using custom ROM, and or your current version, I am just making this ROM available to those that want it.
Note if you already unlocked your bootloader and have twrp installed, skip down to Installing ROM for those that already unlocked bootloader, and have twrp installed.
To install this ROM you need to unlock your bootloader
First download this ROM and twrp recovery

https://www.androidfilehost.com/?fid=24369303960685084
place V15_ROM_E030U.zip on your micro sdcard
For this method to work you need to have adb/fastboot setup and working, you will loose all data.
adb reboot bootloader
fastboot oem unlock
fastboot reboot
setup up phone again enable adb
adb reboot bootloader
fastboot flash recovery E030U_TWRP_recovery.img
fastboot reboot
adb reboot recovery
factory reset
back then install ROM
reboot system
first boot will take a long time.to install root
adb reboot recovery
install UPDATE-SuperSU.zip
reboot system
Installing ROM for those that already unlocked bootloader, and have twrp installed.
If you have already unlocked your bootloader and have twrp recovery installed, you only have to flash V15_ROM_E030U.zip, reboot wait for phone to fully reboot.
to install root
adb reboot recovery
install UPDATE-SuperSU.zip
reboot system
Took 17 minutes to boot, I have a lot of apps installed, your boot time will be different than mine, might be shorter or longer depending on amount of apps you have installed.
Those that install this rom must give it time to full boot, don't panic, phone will fully boot. after fully boot, then reboot to recovery and root by installing UPDATE-SuperSU.zip.

No, Xposed doesn't work correctly on stock rom.

One question, I need to do all this for reinstall the ROM on the stock one?
I just have the Energy X Plus with the V15 stock formware installed and want to have an backup ROM for reinstall it in case of any emergency with the phone. Mine have BLU_E030U_V15_GENERIC on it.
Can this be done without all the bootloader unlcock and everything else?
No, you can't backup or restore with a locked bootloader.

took a few tries but woks perfectly.
Only thing is works for me is https://forum.xda-developers.com/xperia-l/orig-development/cwm-recovery-installer-t2589320
su into dd via adb, twrp app, recovery installer by corphish (https://forum.xda-developers.com/xp...-installer-t3187915/post62536810#post62536810)
Every "fotakernel"-style ways saying that it is finishes its jobs successfully, yet when I "adb reboot recovery" it always loads stock recovery.
Bootloader is unlocked, I've checked it via *#*#737...
I've spent over 8 hours trying everything I've found to flash img, but it just doesn't becomes custom recovery, it is always reverts to default.
What I'm doing wrong or what is wrong with my phone?

IIt's not your fault, it's because stock ROM only supports and allows this recovery!
So if you don't have any problem, use only that one!
But if you want to install custom ROMs using latest TWRP, then you have two choices:
1- Install some Lollipop ROM from current recovery and then use its own recovery to update your recovery to latest one, and continue your works!
2- Use adb & fastboot to flash latest TWRP to BOOT partition (not fota or recovery partition!!!) by booting into fastboot mode and using this command:
Code:
fastboot flash boot [I]yourimagename[/I].img
So it directly boots into recovery( instead of ROM!) But be careful!!! You must install your new ROM right after recovery is opened to avoid any potential problems with missing boot!
I recommend using first method for your convenience and safety

Thanks, that helped me so much!
Okay, just reporting how stuff worked for me
Flashed boot.img from cwm11 - flashed cm11 = 4.4.4
TWRP to FOTAKernel didn't worked - still old CWM
Installed CM12 from that CWM - 5.0 as you mentioned.
Tried TWRP to FOTAKernel using su+dd. Still old recovery (don't remember which one, probably same CWM).
Decided to go all-in, flashed TWRP img to boot using fastboot - Finally got TWRP, but obviously couldn't run anything else. Also had flickering\shaky screen left and right but it's functions seemed to working alright.
Flashed [7.1.1]LineageOS 14.1 || Beta 4 by corphish (I've tried to flash it before from that old TWRP (2.7.10) it would run once (all functions were working fine), after you reboot device it gets stuck in bootloop.) result = everything works, no bootloop after restart, and TWRP 3.0.2.0 either fixed it self or maybe it comes with ROM so that helped, dunno.
Thanks for mentioning "fastboot flash boot yourimagename.img" and that I can flash recovery into boot.

Glad that it worked for you and you finally could get latest one!
I forgot to mention that in first method, after installing LP ROM, install recovery installer app and flash TWRP v2.8.7.2 and use that to install latest one !!! and LoL very long way
I just wanted to say that it is possible!
flash back to the factory/Stock rom..unable to flash TWRP or boot into TWRP anymore :
- I ran the flash-all.bat and basically wipe the entire phone..
- after that, I used Nexus Root Toolkit v2.1.9 and tried to root + flash custom recovery..
the first time it didn't go thru.
the second time, it was able to boot into TWRP,, then after rebooting the phone, (the toolkit automated steps..)
i couldn't find the SuperSU under Settings :/
also, TWRP recovery mode doesn't work too.
when I boot into the recovery mode, it basically just a broken green android laying there :/
(My main goal is to uninstall the bloatware it came with the Stock rom..)
any ideas on how can I get this fixed ?
here is the link to the stock rom:
https://developers.google.com/android/images
I was able to follow the instruction and used flash-all.bat to flash my Nexus 5 back to the latested Stock Image.. 6.0.1 (M4B30Z, Dec 2016)
hi..
same like me..but you can try to click on top options>custom recovery>tick utilize an alternate custom recovery image and browser your recovery.img...and my nexus 5 was successful install twrp and root via nexus root tool v2.19..
The broken green Android on his back means that stock recovery could be on the phone.
Did yo try manually flashing TWRP using fast boot commands ?
