Hello I just wanted if some dev's already taken the benefit of root or some tweaks in order to make the Facebook conrtact sync work on the Xoom.
I know that it has been disabled in Android 2.3.3 but I know that some people, like CyanogenMod team make it work on Nexus S.
I really hope someone can help to have an updated picture of Facebook contact.
I guess that it is not so simple as modifying files, but I just wanted to know.
Thank a lot.
Hi,
i flashed a new ROM to my Android phone and have a problem with the calender-app. It only let me choose the Google-calender of my Google-account.
On other ROMs i had a "My Calender" (in German: Eigener Kalender) which was not automatically synced with the Google-account.
How can i re-create this "local" calendar?
I know i can turn synchronisation off, but it seems that the MIUI-ROM i use sometimes ignores this setting
Okay, digging out a rather old thread, I do have right the same issue with my Galaxy S2 and the Resurrection Remix v3.0.1 ROM. Since I'm a new User, I'm not allowed to post in the correct Thread. Is that known issue, due to the fact, that JB is quite new?
use another calendar software lah

As you can imagine, I already tried that
But even with Jorte it isn't possible to create such local calendar. What's wrong here? With any other Custom ROM I don't have this Problem...
Alright, I'm fairly new to MIUI, but not a newb when it comes to ROMs.
Ive already set up basically everything else that i would like on my phone (and I am MORE than satisfied with switching to MIUI. geez this ROM is lovely)
but noticed after a conglomerate of what seemed foreign numbers texting me - that none of my contacts from my sim were detected.
this was when i was still on 1.7.1. I am now on 1.7.8 and from what i understand - SIM Contact Importing should be possible.
MIUI still says there are no contacts on the SIM when i try to import them, and im 100% sure they are there. Popped my sim back into my old samsung and there they were.
Has anyone else had this issue or found a fix to this? Sorry if i didnt search thru the forums long enough to find this anwser.
Im on an HTC Inspire 4G.
Hi,
I have the same problem on my Samsung Galaxy S Vibrant. I'm currently running Onecosmic's ICS ROM RC1. Have you managed to find a solution for this problem?

Firstly, please use the respective Q&A threads for ROM related questions, it may seem dumb to you but it does help keep the forum clean and tidy. Imagine having a new thread for every question ever asked about each ROM.
Secondly, I know CM built ROMs have this problem and I remember somewhere that all AOSP ROMs have this issue with the ROM not reading the SIM card. You can either manually input them or just sync your contacts to Gmail.
Do a nandroid then load up a stock ROM go into contacts and save export them to your sd then reload your nandroid and import the file from sd and you should be good to go.
Sent through the power of Cthulhu!!!

You are right. All AOSP roms and any rom built on CM coding has this issue.
Asking right about posting in proper thread and device forum.

Hello,
New to the forum, hello and thanks to all!
I'm Running a Captivate with Cyanogen Mod 7.1
and I am seeing that the incoming caller ID number has to exactly match the phone number stored in the contact (all digits) for the contact matching to work correctly (for received calls and SMS)
I would like to limit the matching to 8 digits, like many traditional cell phones out there. The problem is that in my country in some situations I need to dial the numbers differently from what the network reports for incoming calls.
With ES File Explorer , I modified the /system/build.prop file , adding the line “ro.phone.min_match=8” but it still does not work.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1160343
The file was modified successfully, the change is still there, but it does not work. Maybe I have to do it differently, with the adb tool but I really don´t know how. Or maybe it will not work with Cyanogen??
Could anybody please give me some guidance on how to do this ?
Thank you very much!
Gonzalo
Ok, after some investigation of the source code:
This does not work with Cyanogen Mod. It has a completely different caller id-to contact code, so that method will not work.
Gonza
Well, does anybody know how to change that behavior?
Since the Nokia S40 days, I'm used to see caller ID matched to the 8 last digits of my contacts. And this has been a major annoyance on CM7 to me, to the point I'm nearly compiling AOSP to extract the original app...
Did anybody discovered how to solve this issue? any progress?
This is the only annoyance I have with CM7.
Thanks,
Marcelo
same for me! any solution?
Unfortunately there is no solution to this.
My brother and I , we looked at the source code, and after a couple of hours of searching we found the routines. Its easy to modify, but then you need to build everything again from scratch.
I dont know how to do that but my brother does, so he tried to do it for me but it took ages to download all the code, and the donwloads were interrrupted etc etc.
End of the story, he could not do it. It can be modified, but somebody hast to do it ...

Hi guys, I'm fighting with a stupid problem I'm not able to solve, so maybe someone could give me suggestions.
I bought a Jiayu G4 few days ago. Everything is working but I'm not able to see the pictures from my online album (google+) in the gallery.
I have only the photo I'm taking with this device.
I've the standard jiayu rom (Lewa OS I think Jelly Bean 4.2.1)
In the settings everything is set to sync status. Instant upload working perfectly. Gallery app has no settings option
Any help is really appreciate.
Thank you
