OK guys. I don't know where to start. My first Android based LG Phone was GT540. The phone came with 1.6 and was later updated to 2.1. Although it was able to run 2.2, the update never came...
Updating the firmware with KDZ Updater was also as always pain in the arse. And I don't even tell how crappy the phone was.
Thank god I did not pay for it, it came to me as part of a project.
Now I have this Optimus 3D. Normally, I would be using 2.2 because 2.3 Update is still not released for my country (February 2012!). Anyway, I have updated the phone to 2.3 after struggling with about 20 nonsense step via KDZ Firmware updater. ( Update process failed 3 times just because the firmware filename was wrong.)
Now I have to mess with hosts file and sniffers and other struff to get KDZ Updater to work again.
To downgrade, I have no other option but to use a 10 year old OS, XP. Again not to mention pressing thousands of button combinations again and again to get the phone into download mode, which can be done with just 2 buttons with other phones.
I have updated to 2.3 but now I can not recieve calls. A phone that can notrecieve calls! Congrats LG!
I can not call others either. When I call, after about 3 seconds talk, the phone strats buzzing to my ear and voila, the call ends. When I tried to call back quickly, the phonesays: "Wait! I am doing some internal work". I have no people in my SIM, but it checks them every god damn time...
Also another isue is with 3G. It connects whenever it want's. I have to disable it, enable it, disable it, enable it and hope for it to connect.
Also due to this baseband problem, when someone calls and you are not near the phone, the call does not end. Phone keeps ringing until you dismiss the call. You can not imagine how fast this draws your battery. Sometimes, when you come back to your phone, the battery is over due to this problem.
I can not root it either. I am stuck with this firmware now. So, basically, I have to wait for the ICS, which is told to be out in Q3 2012, whic means I will get it in Q1 2013. B!tch please!
I believe there is nothing more to say.
I feel I am really lucky that I did not pay for O3D either.
I will never advise LG Mobile phones. I want to thank LG for ruining such an open and good platform like Android and closing it down by every means.
True to the last word! I wasn't lucky enough to have the Optimus 3D for free! I actually paid for that crap, so I am twice as disappointed. I'm never buying another LG product again unless I have evidence their support policy has changed.

ok first of all LG support does actually suck. I mean they delivered gb late and with some bugs but flashing a fw which is not for your country and then blaming LG for having missed calls is lame. Lots of people report SOME missing calls but the freq you seem to imply (not getting almost any call) seems it has to do with flashing wrong version of fw for your country. Plus I have not even one missed call so far (being on the fw version for my country) and so do many other people. As much as you and I and everyone else wants to have a rooted version of the phone, rooting is not something that any company has to deliver. What each company tries to do (and lg achieved either by dump luck or by wasting good programmers in patching root instead of fixing gb probs or deliver ics) is to blok root so as to have as little work as possible on their service centers by people who f*@*d up their phones also because rooting itself means there are security isues with the phine which can be exploited. Samsung, sony and all major companies would prevent users from having root if they could I think.
Actually, this is not related to flashing an incompatible FW. People with offical updates are also reporting problems...
You got the phone for free. Stop being such a *****.

i have the 4g version of your phone and love it running 2.3.5 v20c smoth as butter no drop calls no missed sms/mms runs fast battery isnt the best on earth but better then froyo i have no problems with lg
I have to say that I too am dissapointed with LG. My optimus 3d worked just fine when it was on 2.2.2. I patiently waited for the official update to come via the LG update software, and after months of waiting the update finally came - unfortunately, I have to say. The first thing I noticed was worse battery life. The battery is draining at least 20% faster than before. And today I experienced the ghost call issue. I hope LG responds to these issues quickly or I'll have to sell my phone. Last thing I need right now is an unreliable phone.

I don't mean this in a nasty way but there is no way you can do that. Your a normal user like all of us except you seem to have the enviable superpower of getting lg phones for free
I'm on stock rom and its fine, no ghost calls or any problems you describe but if your going to mess with roms etc you have to accept that doing so can make the phone worse.
Are you now on stock rom for your country? If so you should still be able to root phone, if not well to be fair to lg its not their fault if you are using non lg firmware and they certainly have no legal duty to you unless your on stock non rooted rom for your country.

I agree with you.
I paid for O3D, paid for unlock, switched from iphone 4, really like 3D, really like android, then suffered missed calls and missed sms, with no notice or warning whatsoever. Tried to get passed it, but after missing an important call and sms from someone the same day, I switched back to my iPhone 4.
I am hopeful LG will at some point resolve the ghost issues, and if that happens SOON, I'll try again, if not - I'll try to sell on ebay or CL, or may get stuck with it and burn my cash............................................
I just love the whole i hacked my phone now it dosent work so its lg's fault i personally love my Lg i have had no troubles other than it came unable to connect to my 850mhz 3G but that was easy fixed maybe flash back to stock?

I have never rooted my phone, nor have I ever installed a custom ROM, or any ROM whatsoever. I used my phone for making phone calls, sending sms, surfing the internet and playing games. Then one day LG PC Suite tells me that there is an update available for my phone. I clicked update and things were never the same again.
Next time inform yourself before you start putting everyone under the same hat.
Same here.. with lg p500 i said LG NEVER AGAIN! 3 times to the guarentee and the same problem every time... now i have a nexus s rooted with ics rom and, what a happiness... i love android and hate ios... here, we are free... but understand what u say, but just because i read LG in yout post...

When I got my O3D I was excited since it was my first dual core phone. I had and HTC Desire(CDMA) before. The phone was great at first, didn't bother rooting the phone or anything. Then I started getting random restarts and found out that I couldn't send email using LGemail with exchange as I would send 3 emails from my phone. So I decided to root and install cm7 nightly my email worked but then not having hdmi or 3D defeated the purpose of even having the phone so I installed GB then ghost calls so I went back to froyo as getting phone calls/texts was more important then my email issue, and paid $20 for Moxier Mail. Which has worked out fine but still having to deal with random reboots which kills my battery.
I know the issue with my phone isn't all LG's fault since my carrier sucks when it comes to working with android. Since I had issues with their other phones Milestone X, Samsung Fascinate(replacement for Milestone X), Galaxy S2.
But I just bought a Dell Venue Pro(WP7) unlocked and it has been working great so far had it for almost a week. No problems yet a couple of annoying things with the OS but a lot less annoying then my O3D issues.
Im thinking of changeing LG 3D, to LG 2x, because of the richer development stage on LG 2x.
They are about he same value in the market. Thought about the nexus S, but that can be the step backwards in the terms of cpu. And it is hard to get, and price is about the same as for new LG 3D, but Nexus S are second hand mostly. New ones are even more expensive than the new LG 3D.
What do you think people ? Is it worth to change to LG 2x ? I want fast and stable custom roms, cm7/9, miui, ICS, all of this

I personally wouldn't change it for the 2X. I would go for the Samsung Galaxy R or something like that. If the ghost call issue isn't fixed in 3 to 4 weeks tops I'll be switching over to WP7 (HTC Titan to be precise). I'm not only getting tired of all these problems, but also getting tired of android too.
Galaxy R is rare in my region. Only nexus s, lg2x, atrix, sensation counts. Sgs2/R is too expensive in my region. If not it would be obvious choice, cause of the development of custom roms.

I also wouldn't do it, not with quad core phones on the horizon. I finally spend few hours today and downgraded my O3D to froyo with acura rom and believe me there is day/night difference now. No more freaking ghost calls, getting all calls, sms, installed all my apps from titanium and it's freaking fast and default clocked at 1300Mhz since they also undervolt it. I heard the GPU is at 400mhz as well.
only prob with camera as it resorts back to lowest resolution but i'm checking into it.
believe me it's brought back life to my almost useless phone.
I would wait for SGIII in near future when i'll swap o3D and iphone4.

Dear All,
I am a new user to these type of forums, a big hii to all.
Now i will explain my issue of LG E970 phone. As it is a US (AT&T)version i am not getting proper service support in india. After one week of use i tried to make the font change with installed software in it which was dowloaded from play store, after that it struck into AT&T screen till the battery goes off it never moves on to the home screen. As i tried with hard reset it also hadnt produced any result.
Can anyone help me on this.
thank you
From what I've seen throughout this forum, many more of the experienced developers have simply skimped by this issue. I know many other people are experiencing this same issue regarding their H950 variant of the LG Flex 2, and many have sought help amidst the many smart individuals on this site, but many were simply ignored or left hanging.
I bought my H950 a couple weeks back when they were being sold for a fairly low price for a new device. And luckily, it's still under the seller's free warranty. I was experiencing horrendous issues including:
-Battery life lasting a mere 2 hours on medium brightness and with other features on
-Extreme heat causing the phone to lag so bad that it was comparable to an android phone from 2006
-And so much more
I have tried all suggestions I found from the internet that included using the LG Support Tool (don't bother just kept telling me that the device was in "ok" and tried on other desktops same issue) I have also tried hard resetting (if you're in a bootloop just hold down the power and volume down for a few seconds until the LG logo stops or in my case AT&T) and gave little hope (manual hard reset power and volume down until logo appears and quickly let go of the power and press it again whilst still holding volume down) it "let" me do a hard reset and showed an android but quickly went away and went on the bootloop
The last option was the option I wished worked or was possible is the TOT or KDZ method. Sadly, no files for the H950 variant are up.
Now what I'm thinking is, is it possible to use the TOT or KDZ method but use the files from European variants? Their model numbers are H951 and honestly, if no one has tried, I might try myself. If it's not possible, then to all my fellow H950 owners, if possible, I suppose send in our phones for a replacement. Many developers simply skip over our replies in threads that involve solutions to the sprint or european versions
Hey have yoi tried to use H951 TOT or KDZ, or other on H950? What's your status?

I have not, I have read other users try and some have achieved boot. But, many face problems with connection, Wi-Fi, etc.
UPDATE: A week ago I spoke with the support team of LG, and they have stated that their support tool has not yet updated to restore the LG Flex 2. Instead of worrying if there is a solution, I sent my device in for repair. It's been a week, and my device has been restored and sent back and will arrive shortly. I advise users who suffer the same issue with their phone simply contact their support. All they asked for was an IMEI number and serial number of the device, and will more than likely allow for repair (due to the fact that the phone has 1 year LG warranty and the phone has only been out a few months, so people who have bought it secondhand might be able to get it repaired)

Did you purchase your handset from ebay and where you live because I supposedly hard bricked my LG G Flex 2 while trying to flash H950PR rom. Now the devices refuses to power on and the device manager shows hsusb_bulk. I live in India and don't have the option to send it ot At&t
So I have a LS770 from Boost Mobile. I know sucks for me right!! well I did something and I'm not bricked or anything but sometimes it says that I have no data connection when I try to make a call then I try the call again and it works. someother thing have been going on but I cant think of them right off the bat. but just weird things like this have been going on so does anyone else have a LG G Stylo from Boost Mobile and can they compare their Software info to mine on the pic that I have provided. I also want to point out my Software Version and Build Number. well everything pretty much somehow it changed and I have never been rooted before. I have done a FDR and I still get this. It's kinda pissin me off. so can someone please help??? man If I had root I could have fixed this crap by now.

So, I think I've managed to salvage my bricked Stylo, I somehow also managed to root my Fiance's LG G Stylo that's on the 6.0 update...
Since I can't find any ways to fix this problem on the internet I'll post what I did here so hopefully I can get some other people out of deep water with their phone.
Here is the thread I made
LGMS631 MetroPCS LG G Stylo Backup (Unbrick/Root) Android 6.0
What am I missing? I like LG phones just fine. I am very happy with my current phone, which is the v20 (the last with interchangeable batteries?).
I mean no offense to any of the lg V60 owners but the ATT V60 was very bad. Actually junk!
With a headphone jack and better battery life than the S20, the V60 seemed to be the best available 5G.
I will detail and perhaps someone can help decipher?
1, I have been using the LG V20 for several years. I don't change phones frequently. In fact, I bought 3 of V20s and am now to the last V20.
2. I set up the V60 using the android restore and later, the LG transfer (not sure if I even needed the 2nd operation).
3. During the course of using the V60, the following occurred:
a. The symbol ATT kept recyling in an endless loop! Not sure how it even got there! Pwr+vol- reset the phone. Over the course of evening of using the phone, this endless loop appeared 3 times. I dont do anything unusual. I didn't even use the camera. i was only using firefox, chrome and a couple of basic apps. No video games, no video at all!
b. As I started using the phone, I realized there is a small lag in operations.. like it is just slower than the V20. That was surprising.. Then I realized - my old V20 is an international version - no bloatware. I wonder if bloatware slows out the phone so much? Since I have used the V20 for 3+ years, I could easily tell that the V60 is slower for my usual use - just basic use mind you! Now I have decided to never buy a carrier branded phone in the future!
c. Several times, the browsers didn't work. The google search bar worked but neither chrome nor firefox worked at times. They simply froze.
Even after one reboot they didn't start working. After 2nd reboot, they worked. This made me decide that this phone is junk and return it following day.
I went back to my old V20 and it is such a relief! It is fast and crip handling! Go figure!
d. Several times, the finger print scanner circle lit up to bright green and I had to reboot the phone to get rid of it.. The finger scanning seemed better/faster on the V20 as compared to the V60!
ps: . On the V60, Yahoo finance app kept crashing when I tried to use an [email protected] email address. Yahoo mail app works but not finance app. Any ideas? Yahoo finance worked fine for a yahoo.com address on V60. On the V20, the ameritech.net address works fine. Any ideas about why the ameritech.net address won't work (its the email address given to me by ATT as a part of an old internet connection). I might get a V60 once LG sells non carrier, no bloatware version directly on their website.

Wow. I have the T-Mobile version and I have not had any of those problems. I'm sorry you had such a bad experience. I also owned a V20, although most recently a OnePlus 6t. For me the V60 is faster than both of them. I would have personally tried a factory reset, and then set the phone up fresh without transferring everything from a 4 year old device to see if that's what caused the problem before I returned it. Either you got a faulty device, or something about transferring the information caused a problem, because the issues you were having are definitely not normal.

I'm inclined to agree, especially if this is an isolated complaint with the AT&T variant. Using transfer tools are great in theory, but there's tons of complaints like this after someone used it when upgrading their phone. Not just with LG's transfer, but across the board.

I agree. I've used restore tools like this with no problems in the past with no problems, but I've many stories if bugs being caused by it. Like you said, not just LG, but Samsung, OnePlus etc etc... Sometimes it either doesn't work right, or some old app that's not compatible with the newer version of Android gets transferred, it just some piece of corrupted data etc. It's definitely not specific to LG
I have the AT&T V60 and have had none of these problems. Faster than my S10+, noticeably. Before I disabled all the bloatware. Sounds like you need to do a reset and don't use the transfer app, only the Google account restore.
I usually just do a restore from my Google backup. Before that though I make sure to skip all setup and check for updates first. After all updates are installed I do a factory reset and then check for updates one last time. Then factory reset one last time for good measure. After that I stated my setup and restore from Google backup only. I know it's a lot of step but I find that that will save some headaches in the long-run. TMobile variant here and no issues except for a few lag which I think was due to either my Nova Launcher and or Android 10.
No issues with my AT&T phone. I did not do a full transfer from my V30, just messages and a few app settings. I have had the V30 since the day it was released, about 2.5 years ago. I also still have my G4.
So far this phone has been a surprisingly good upgrade. I was not expecting it to be a huge jump from the V30, but it has exceeded my expectations so far.
I did a transfer from my Verizon V30 (which I loved) to my Verizon V60. Everything appeared to be normal but I quickly noticed bad lag in some apps (camera especially) and the battery life was AWFUL.
I was convinced the V60 was garbage but I did a factory reset and restored contacts, text messages, etc individually and everything was fixed. The battery life is amazing.
Only things that remains buggy are the speakerphone issue and the crappy fingerprint reader issues.
To anyone with issues like OP after doing a phone transfer--do a factory reset. Forget the transfer apps, restore manually.
Having owned almost every Lg flagship since the G2 I can say this.. ONLY restore downloaded apps from a previous Lg device. Anything else can cause bugs. Set everything else up fresh.
I don't have any of the problems you listed here... I'm not loyal to any brand so I did have the need to defend LG. I suggest you swap it out and don't use any restore apps.

AT&T LG V60 user (coming from an open-market LG V30+) and I cannot say that my experience is anywhere near that of what you're experiencing.
Worth mentioning that I only used Google's Backup and Restore option (I didn't touch LG's), like I always do with all my phones, and I used ADB and Fastboot commands to nuke a lot of the LG and AT&T bloat before I really started to use the phone as my daily driver.
Also worth mentioning, I've read here that using LG Sync (or whatever their own backup and restore solution is called) can cause significant issues. I read this after-the-fact, so it didn't play a role in my decision to rely strictly on Google's Backup and Restore functionality. I've only ever used Google's and never had any issue with it.
I would suggest a factory reset and either sticking only with Google's sync, or just starting completely fresh, and see if that helps at all. Good luck.
Only very small people would take any kind of offense that another person did not like something that they did.
That is really pathetic. *gasp* Someone doesn't like a product I had no hand in creating!

I agree with everyone else. Restore from Google backup. I too came from a v20. I skipped restore and did all updates first, then factory reset and did a backup from Google backups, then I only restored apps from LG switch that did not restore the data, I can honestly say that this phone flies compared to my v20. As battery life is outstanding

I had to send mine in for warranty repair because the camera focus was getting stuck. Other than that, I've really enjoyed the phone. It really feels weird being back on my V20 while I wait for the V60 to get fixed. such a huge difference between the two.
