Auto on off not working with flip wallet case by Samsung

Is there any settings to do to use the auto on off feature when you close and open the genuine Samsung wallet flip case , my note edge is on stock lollipop .
Thanks
If it is genuine it should work. I have it and it works automaticly. If the flip case is not original, you should use smart cover app from playstore.
It is genuine one , bought from amazon , but mine is not doing auto on of if I close or open the flip
It's working now , had to reboot the phone (turn off and then on ) it's working now , is there any way of changing the blue lines around the clock when the case is shut ???
Note Edge Flip Wallet is Not Black but Grey
It says Black on the package, but it is Grey.
I've seen others mention the same and I looked at a few more in the AT&T store.
They are all Grey that say black.
I wished it was Black and not Grey

You can change clock style in edge settings.
I have a genuine Samsung note edge flip cover with sensor, and recently I bought a third party cheap flip cover without a sensor. I want to remove this sensor from the genuine one. Is this possible and can someone help?
Just pop it off, it held with stickey double sided tape

Do let us know if popping it off from the original and putting it in the duplicate one still renders the same result.
If you flip cover for android or S9 is not turning off or on screen
When you put on the cover then turn off or restart your phone. It will start working and you can customise what to show on locked screen by settings >advanced features >accessories.
Accessories will aprear sometimes only after you use any acessory and restart phone.

Nillkin Sparkle View

I bought this today for $9 http://www.nillkin.com/english/proshow.asp?mid=2&sid=0&tid=0&cid=1&scid=&id=5000&page=1 and I successfully registered it and the app, but the problem is if I close the flip cover completely, it unlocks my screen instead of showing the kview. The kview appears only if the case is partially opened like 5-10mm. Seems like a problem with the way it interacts with the proximity or a service. Anyone got an idea?
Since it shows the smart view when not completely closed, I can't use the smart shortcuts..
I just bought this case after reading your post. It doesn't work correct for me either, I have a feeling it's because of the magnet placement, top left corner on the front of case. I cant use the case even without the app, as if I close it while screen on, it simulates a long press of the back and menu button.
I guess this is indeed the problem! Wasted myself $9 since I bought it from another region! I need to figure out a way to remove that glass plastic.

entirely depends on which cover you've used. ideally you need to flip the case open to swipe the screen to accept the call. You can then close the flip cover and take the call as per normal. I doubt that you can use what samsung phones have where they have a slot on the cover where you can swipe the screen, as MIUI requires you to swipe up instead of left/right.
I'm talking about original flip cover which produced by xiaomi. Do you have any experience about notification light and Does screen go off when flip cover closed?

I have one. The screen goes off. You cannot see the notification light when closed. The side buttons work great. I dropped it once. The cover saved it on the first bounce. Then the phone flew out of the cover but did not break.
I'd like to just chime in and ask, does the official Xiaomi flip case stay closed properly?
The flap looks like it isn't secured, so is it prone to popping open? How does it compare to the flip cases that have a magnetic buckle?

It keeps popping open and it's annoying. But I only have it for 3 days now, maybe with time it will stretch,
I was thinking of adding a magnet clip or something myself even.
It does open, no magnet to keep it closed. It has some weight on it though, so it is still way better than the nilkin flip case. That one couldn't even stay closed and screen kept going on and off. In the nilkin though the phone clips in better and you can see when the screen turns on for notifications. Another thing you should consider with flip cases is the absence of lock control when you get a custom rom. None of the roms i tried had an option to control whether the magnet of the flip case is going to be locking the screen or not as in miui. After trying them for a few weeks i switched to a regular back cover case.

Nokia 5 flip case that works with hall sensor

The other thread seems be more about non-flip cases.
Has anybody succeeded in finding a flip case that uses the hall sensor. I am talking about cases that typically have a small round magnet somewhere that activate the hall sensor. This turns on and turns off the display automatically (on flip open/close).
I bought one off amazon: https://www.amazon.in/gp/product/B074M9RHZV/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o00_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1
The case is OK. But, it does not trigger the hall sensor.
I tried taking a small magnet near the phone, around the bezel. No reaction from the phone. How is the hall sensor on this phone supposed to work ? Asus phones dont need any special activation for this. Samsung needed their special cover that has a chip (galaxy S5). Is something else needed to turn on the hall sensor ?
I emailed HMD global support and got the following link: https://www.nokia.com/en_in/phones/nokia-slim-flip-cover?selectedDevice=
A flip case is listed here for Nokia 5. Has anyone tried it/has any experience with this ?
Thanks.
Answering my own question. I could not find out an accessory that supports the hall sensor. But, did manage to find out where the hall sensor is!
The hall sensor is somewhere near the middle of the screen. On your lock screen, it is around the place that displaces the day of the week (Monday, etc). Strange place to have a hall sensor. But it works! Just try taking a magnet near this spot.
I guess, now I have to find a flat sticky magnet to stick on my flip cover
So, did you found some nice magnet? I have original Nokia slim flip case which doesnt have the magnet, i tried what you said and it works with normal magnet, but it it is too thick. It doesnt work with fridger stickers.
I also have slim neomdyum magnet, but i am affraid to try it.

I think the neomdymium magnet should be OK. I know that my previous asus's filp cover had a small (1/2 to 3/4 cm dia) neomdymium magnet. I would be more worried about the magnet hitting the screen when you close (not the power of the magnet itself). I also checked that a simple stick-on magnetic strip does _not_ work.
I made it work nicely! found a great thin magnet in notebook HDD, which o broke in half (about .2cm long and wide now) and then inserted it with ducktape in top of card pocket. Working flawlessly!
Edit: Just compass seems messed when magnet is near.
Ah, I was expecting it to be near the edge somewhere. I'll give this a go as I have a cheap flip case on mine. Does the magnet need to be quite strong? I have some sticky sheet magnets, so I'll maybe try one of them and see what happens.
Magnetic Tape - rather those which can be used to hang metallic tools on a wall than audiotape!! - works also perfectly: no worries about scratching the screen. Can easily be cut to proper size and maybe inserted seamlessly into any flip cover. Search for "magnetic tape roll"

Why does Honor 8 screen freezes when I put the phone on a magnet bracket in the car?

Hi everybody.
I have mounted a bracket in my car so I can use my Honor 8 handsfree in the car. On the back of the phone I have glued a thin piece of magnet. A magnet on the bracket is also mounted. When I put the phone on the magnet, the screen freezes. The screen has been locked.
When the display goes out, I can unlock it with the fingerprint reader on the back but the screen is still locked.
Why is this and how can I unlock the phone so I can make a call?
When I remove the phone away from the bracket and the magnet, I can use the screen again.

Hi,
I might have an idea what causes your problem.
The honor 8 has support for flip covers with a little window.
The way the phone notices wether the cover is closed or open is via a little magnet inside the case.
So whenever you put the phone on the magnet it probably thinks you got a flip cover and you just closed it, which locks the phone.
Try going to your phone settings --> smart assistance --> Smart-Cover --> Turn it off.
Hopefully that fixes your problem.

No problem, glad I could help
It could be due to the fact that the magnet used in the bracket mount is very powerful. Which interferes with the electronics on your device.
