Alright, ever since I rooted my phone and flashed the Katana ROM, my Wifi has had a bit of a problem. I can turn it on and it stays on. I can discover networks without issue, but as soon as I connect to a network whether it is open or secure it begins to shut it on and off several times until it ends by telling me there were authentication issues. Weekday could be causing this? On both open and secured networks where I know the password is properly entered? I haven't tried going back to a stock ROM yet but even if I had that would still not fix my issue while using the Katana ROM. Anyone have any help or can point me in the right direction?

If you want help from someone, you may want to state what phone you have, and have you posted this issue and asked in the katana rom thread..??
my guess is that the rom is probably UK, or international. and you have a US phone maybe or the module the developer is using is for wifi is not correct for your device

I apologize. I had originally tried to create a post in the LG G Stylo but I guess I wasn't paying well enough attention to my actions and posted it in this one. So yeah, my issue would be with the LG G Stylo MS631. Decent mid level phone, just some unusual things I've never seen going on with it when I have never seen go on with other Android phones and/or versions including the same manufacturer and version of Android. Just simple things such as limiting the amount of lines I'm able top add to the build.prop or suddenly changing settings of all sorts.
have you tried reflashing the rom? do you have any xposed modules active? did you make sure you wiped correctly? what other if any mods have you done? I've got a ms631 with katana and wifi is fine. the only problem I had/have is with 1 or 2 xposed modules causing a random boot issue when active. If you have wiped/reflashed more than once, I would recommend doing it again just to be sure. then don't make ANY mods to the stylo for a few days, and see if the problem persists. Also post your problem in the actual katana rom thread, you can probably get some real help in there.

10-4 will do but to answer your question about reflashing the ROM, yes I have done that. I even tried flashing only the ROM (several times), the t-mobile partitions.zip, latest busybox, and the latest SuperSU I'm able to find. Also have had xposed modules on and off without a difference in results either way. Other than that I haven't had anything else installed for days at this point now. I will however redirect my question in the Katana ROM thread. By the way, thanks for what help you were able to toss my way here.

I rooted my xoom wifi and now when I go to settings to set up my wifi, it says error instead of scanning. any fixes?
I would try reflashing the kernel.
Sent from my Xoom using Tapatalk
who sounds like the kernel didn't flash right. try the post above me said chances are you just need to re push the kernel files.
how did you flash? if you used adb, you most likely did not push all the modules.... if you used cwr you may of had an error and should reflash.
lostttttt
Hello fellow xoomers, im having a problem hope some one can help me. first off i'm a noob to rooting. I have a xoom wifi running android 3.0 , kernel version is 2.6.36.3 build HRI39. I was adventurous and tried to root my xoom and needless to say it didn't go well. I honestly thought I bricked the damn thing, to my shock and welcomed surprised I was able to do a wipe and erase all the data on my device and return to factory settings. but when it went to connect to the wifi all it's saying is wifi error every thing else seems to work fine. so i was wondering should i try to re root my xoom again??? will this correct the issue i'm having with my wifi?? and can some one point me to a guide that's made for the version i'm currently running seems likes there's a million and one different types of software and you have to have the right one for the version your running or every thing goes from sugar to well you know the rest. Any help would be greatly appreciated if you need any more info please let me know. thank you all in advance.....
Please bare with me since this is the first time having to post for an issue since I usually find an answer on your forums
So here's the situation.
I bought the photon q 4g lte from ebay and it came with the unlocked bootloader.
Needless to say it was with the stock ics and i tried to find a jellybean update because it wasn't taking the ota and ended up going with cyanogen since i had no problems before. However those phones i had before were with sim cards not cdma.
I found out i couldn't update prl or profile manually without having to do something on the pc.
So after searching left and right i found i could use rsl lite (I used 6.1.5) and eventually found the "stock" file from this post
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2095536&highlight=rsd+lite
I did the stock jellybean, got it to go through the process and it booted up with no errors.
However, when it boots into the os it pops up a force close on omadmclient_sprint_dataservice and eventually also on the process com.android.phone.
I tried putting it in airplane mode to see if the service error would go away but it didn't work for the process part crashing.
I tried re-flashing, deleting cache in recovery, doing a data/factory reset in recovery and the one time i was able to do a data factory reset within the settings menu.
I could not find anyone that said they had a rom that worked with sprint and updating prl within the rom, if anyone knows of one let me know and i will flash it through rsd.
Otherwise does anyone have an idea of what could be happening because googling the omadmclient part did not pull up anything specific and pulling up the process issue for other phones has not helped me either.
Was this a hacked GSM phone, or are you using it as CDMA?
I've never heard of people having FC issues after flashing a FXZ from RSD. Which one did you flash? Android 4.1.2 - Sprint US - 9.8.2Q-122_XT897_FFW-5 (No simlock) ?
If you are on stock, you should be able to update the PRL within the ROM.
I was trying to use it with cdma network through sprint. and yeah that was the file i downloaded, had to remove the getvar to get it working but flashed with no errors after doing that.
As for updating the prl i can barely navigate through the phone, there is no home page loading and the process pop comes up often enough that its hard to go through the settings

Sounds like something went wrong mate. Are you already activated on Sprint? I don't know if that would matter, it might.
I would honestly redownload and redo the RSD process.

I originally tried to activate the phone through cyanogen and then when the rep said he couldnt do it because of the lack of prl to update within the rom we just setup the activation back on the old phone/ That phone is working on the network.
I re-downloaded the file just in case and re-flashed but same problem. The only thing i thought of was maybe updating the radio but since its a stock rom it should work out of the gate. whats also weird is i tried turning wifi on but it didnt work either.
Anychange you know of a rom that works with sprint. I dont care if its stock since i would probably root later again.

Which one are you flashing?
Try another perhaps...? I honestly have never heard of this. It sounds like the phone might be damaged, or the RSD process just did not flash correctly.
I guess I should ask, was the phone modified at all for the GSM SIM slot mod? I wonder if having a non-Sprint SIM in is messing with it... That is just a shot in the dark.

so far the only rom i tried was 10.1 cyanogen and the stock rom for jellybean. However for the stock rom it doesnt let me downgrade to ics with rsd 6.1.5 do you think if i downloaded an old version i could downgrade to a lower stock rom?
Also I honestly had not looked for the cdma roms since most of what i saw was troubleshooting related for this phone but i just saw this rom -AOKP 4.2.2 (Android Open Kang Project) (CDMA&GSM) that you created - http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2293892
I re-rooted and installed that one and it looks great, just wondered how you got sprint to activate the phone or if you had done it before changing the rom? Also how would the prl and profile be updated.
Lastly the wifi wasn't turning on this time either, it did work initially when i got the phone so that has me stumped.

To downgrade to ICS, you need to remove some additional lines. See this post for more information on that.
However, you should be able to update the PRL on either stock ROM.
I think I said this before, but I will say it again. You need to do PRL updates, activate the phone, and get EVERYTHING working on stock BEFORE you flash ANY custom ROM. This is just standard practice - you don't want to put the cart before the horse! Get the phone working, then play with custom ROM's.
hey, I have tried several things but havnt got anything to work. I got USB tethering working with foxfi but I would prefer wifi tethering. I have customer recovery and i am rooted. What would you guys suggest. Thanks
There was a thread floating around here somewhere concerning Galaxy Tools. Look that up. It should enable maybe wifi tethering.
Wondering the same thing
My phone was unusable fit like 3 weeks, it started working again so I'm scared to try putting another custom rom on it. I was also recommended not to buy some people on this site that i believe are much smarter than me! I did find out that I'm rooted, also have Philz custom recovery on the phone. So I've been looking for a way to get my Hotspot back, nothing I've tried has worked... any help is greatly appreciated! :good:
youre on OD3 and cannot go back to an earlier version, so unless you can find an app, or when a ROM comes out with it built in, youre kinda stuck. Not sure if youre aware, but the OA6 and OD3 are basebands and the ROMs you have available to you are based upon what baseband youre on, and apparently once you go to OD3, you cant revert

Hey fellow XDA'ers, I have a strange problem on my G920T that's been bugging me for a while. After flashing a custom ROM, my EFS was messed up. Thankfully I had backed it up prior to any custom ROMs. All works well n the phone except whenever it's rebooted it fails to register to T-Mobile's network. So I have to bring up the dialer, type in *#2263# and choose Band Selection, then LTE, then LTE All (which is already asterisked) and tap it again. Only then will it register on the network and then works fine. I've tried everything under the sun including restoring EFS backup, flashing back to stock, etc., to no avail.
I'm wondering if anyone knows of or can write a script that automatically runs the above process after reboot. I don't know enough to do so, and I'm not sure one exists. Not a vital request, more of an "I'm not going to be beaten by my phone" kind of thing. I'm willing to throw a $$ donation if someone were to write or provide a working script. Thanks!

Before you do that, is the custom ROM based on the same baseband your phone has?
Yes, the custom ROM is based on the same baseband - which is a great question. I’m using the stock rooted deodexed deKnoxed DOJ7 T-Mobile variant ROM with DOJ7 baseband. I’m DOJ7 across the board. This problem has persisted through multiple stock and custom ROMs. It seems to have started when I flashed the Back to N0t3 Note5 port to S6 ROM. I also get the Security Error: Your device has been flashed blah blah blah - but only when manually registering on the network.
I’ve been around the block as far as rooting and customizing my phone for a good while, and I’ve tried every trick I know to get this straightened out. SIM card works fine on my wife’s identical S6, so it’s not that. Short of hardware failure (which isn’t likely based on functionality when manually registered on network), something in some file was erased or corrupted and I can’t figure it out. Thanks for your question.

Hi
Did you ever manage to get it fixed I'm having the same problem on my g920f and my imei is 350000000006 and serial all zeros
Thanks

So I don't know if this is correct place to post this, forgive I am a complete noob
But I bought the Moto G7 Power from Metro By T-Mobile a few days ago and everything was wonderful
I was just about ready to flash a GSI when I decided to connect to WiFi since I forgotten to do so and that's where I started to
experience problems. Constantly switching between LTE and WiFi
As time went on LTE didn't want to function on certain apps. I've tried resetting network settings, factory reset and a whole number of things I'm not thinking about
I have done research and see that this is a common problem. Is this a software/driver issue? How can this be fixed? I just wanted to flash a few things on this device and be go on with life now I've spent tireless days trying to work my ecosystem setup around this problem and it is infuriating.
I'm currently in the stock ROM with unlocked bootloader
What's the solution? If any
