Flip Shell don't work - X Play Accessories

Hi there,
i bought a original Motorola Flip Shell. But if i close or open it, nothing happen. On my Moto G it works perfect. Does anyone knows if i need to configure something?
Greetings, Denny

Lol

it doesnt have the wake functionality, nothing wrong just doesnt have the feature

Well, when I open a flip shell, Moto Screen appears. Unfortunately, I have other problem, the camera-on gesture doesn't work. When I take off a shell it starts running normally. It's kinda disturbing

Hi, you won't get it to work with the magnetic sensor, I've been through this with Motorola & the seller of the official FLIP shell. Motorola are aware of it, a slim hope that they could update the firmware. It's OK though just use an app called "Gravity " works with the proximity sensor & works well, I'm happy with it. Would be better if it worked as ADVERTISED but I haven't noticed any effects using Gravity & it has other benefits that I like now.

You can also do this with the free version of Macrodroid. You can download the flip shell template from within the app.I use moto display to turn the screen on and Macrodroid to put the screen off when closing the flip shell.Works perfect.

You don't need an apk for that. There's a magnet in the case that triggers the proximity switch

It's a magnet. Top left corner by the volume rocker on the Nexus 5.

[Q] OPO screen unlocked occasionally in pocket

OPO screen seems to be so sensitive and would unlock my phone in my pocket. The phone will then try to call some one unexpectedly.
Is there anything in CM to protect this. Previous experience in Sony or MIUI phones, the ambient sesnor is checked so that the screen don't get unlocked. Does CM have this feature?
It is probably due to offscreen gestures. If you are not using it, disable them.
Verstuurd vanaf mijn One met Tapatalk
they updated them to use the proximity sensor. they announced it today. itll show up in the next update.
Can you link me to where you learned that?

I'm not sure we are talking about the same issue. I turned off the gestures already.

Touch screen fault

Hi everyone
I recently ordered a Moto G 3rd gen (through Tesco Mobile in the UK if it matters), and the touch screen seems to have some sort of fault. Long story short, I type pretty quickly with two thumbs and sometimes two separate presses are treated as a swipe. I've never seen this behaviour in any of my previous phones (including the Moto G 1st gen), so I am wondering if anyone else has experienced anything similar?
Contacted the network who sent a replacement phone, but while it is slightly better the fault is still noticeable. My colleague got a 3rd gen the other day as well and I can replicate the issue on his, although of his own admission he doesn't type particularly quickly or with both thumbs at the same time, so it doesn't bother him.
If you turn on the touch screen debugging options you can see some swipes which were actually separate presses. I've attached a couple of shots so you can see what I mean.
Anyone else able to reproduce?! All you need to do is type a message out quickly with two thumbs. "Hehehehehehehe" is a good test.
i use swift keyboard.. i tried typing HEHEHEHE.. they were perfect infact.. i am giving an screen recording also, hope it might give you clear idea.

i have seen it, there might be some issue ..
if you are using any tempered screen, screen guard.. they might be causing the problem ! else wipe the screen with a cloth, if that also doesn't work ..
then there might be some problem with your screen..

No screen guard is on the phone. The worrying thing is I've been able to replicate the issue on two other Moto G 3rd gens as well..! I wonder if a faulty batch has made its way to the UK.
Do you have the 1GB or 2GB version out of interest?

Interesting! Thank you for the video. So it seems you are able to replicate the issue as well. Perhaps yours is not giving spaces because of the differences in our keyboard configuration. It also seems yours is not as bad as mine, but it is still noticeable.
I am genuinely surprised this problem isn't bothering more Moto G 2015 owners. I find it so difficult to type on the phone!
I've noticed some degree of unresponsiveness, but only after the stagefright update. I've flashed the newer stock firmware (not OTA) and noticed the issue after using the phone for a few minutes.
If you can replicate it on other phones it seems like you move/drag your thumbs ever so slightly when typing since you type so fast, and it registers as a swipe. It's just your style. Did you try a different keyboard? Or even try using your fingers instead of thumbs? Or maybe slow down? It really seems like a user issue than a hardware/software issue.
I've noticed it as well with the keyboard and some games, I mostly just use the gesture typing from Google Keyboard, I've been using it for years though so it varies from device to device.

I can only replicate it on other Moto G 2015 handsets - every other phone (including my Moto G 1st gen) is absolutely fine. If you turn on the touch debugging options and tap the 'H' and the 'E' in quick succession (just an example) with your two thumbs, you can register a swipe occasionally without moving either thumb a millimetre.
I'm certain it's a hardware/software issue but I accept that it'll affect some owners more than others depending on their typing speed/style.
This was the reason I sold my G 3rd Gen; I type super fast, and it got very irritating. Waiting for the new Nexus now.
No issue on mine, 2Gb version, from France
I haven't watched the videos, but I have the same problem as the OP describes. It's more of an issue with SwiftKey than Google Keyboard, but it does happen with both.
I just can't reliably replicate it. It just happens randomly. Additionally, if I press one of the predicated words in Google Keyboard, it sometimes registers as a long press and triggers the multi word choice menu. Since I don't actually long press, it ends up choosing the first word.
I had zero problems with both a Nexus 4 and LG G4, both with and without screen protectors.
I'm torn as the phone works very well for me otherwise.
I just purchased a moto g 3 and i am having issues with this aswell and also when playing ingress it feels like the screen isnt registrering my swipe correctly. I Wonder if android m update might fix this otherwise i will have to sell it and go back to my moto x 2014 instead which apart of the camera is superb.

Flip case that turn of / wake screen.

Hi.
Just bought a original flip cover for my Note 2 . But it does not wake or turn of the screen.
Am i missing something in settings. Im on Xiaomi.EU 5.10.8 Weekly.
It sure has sensor that turn of screen when i hold it to my ear, so it should be possible (?)
After changing the launcher i really begin to like this phone.
Thanks
Knievel
There aren't settings about it. The prossimity sensor work while you are phoning, it turn off the screen when is near the ear.
For change the launcher go to Settings > Apps > Default Apps > Launcher
~ Xiaomi Redmi Note 2 Prime ~

Nope. I am not able to wake/turn of screen with flip cover so far.
Google Now launcher gives me the stock feeling i like, with app drawer etc.
And still have a lot of useful stuff in Miui os.
Had to flash Chainfires Supersu to change launcher and make it stick. Some trouble with permissions.
Did also uninstall a few annoying Chinese apps before i was happy with it.
Thanks
Knievel
nice cover.
Try to install any smart cover apps from google play..
hope it work.
Hello,
Can you please tell me where do you buy it? Can you please share à link?
Thank you
This cover claims it has auto-sleep/wakeup and even has video to demo that http://www.aliexpress.com/item/New-...For-Xiaomi-Redmi-Note-2-With/32506925639.html
No idea if it actually works

Hi.
There is a lot of apps that make you able to wake/turn off screen with flip cover.
But all of them uses to much battery, and screen turn off when its not supposed to.
This flip cover seems to clearly have an app involved.
The main reason for me to have this function is to save battery.
Both my Nexus 5 and 6 have flip covers that uses some kind of magnetic function.
Maybe this phone doesent have the right hardware and has to use the proximity sensor.
Just my guess.
Thanks
Knievel
Yes the flip cover uses the magnetic sensor and a custom app.
I don't see why the magnetic sensor should use less battery than the proximity/light ones...
So I will buy a normal flip case.
Thank you.
I dont think this phone has magnetic sensor
No magnetic sensor present in the RedMi Note 2
The Redmi Note 2 must have a magnetic sensor, because it's working with the magnetic button of my ColorCross 2 virtual reality headset (I've taken this one because it's an open one, to prevent over-heating during games, but it's not the topic) on SwivelGun game (but it's better with à mini bluetooth gamepad).
To say, RN2 must have a magnetic sensor...

The magnetic sensor is like a mechanical switch, it doesn't need to be powered, but the proximity sensor needs to be powered to work...
Waiting for the same
I've enabled the required settings but my mobile does not respond to the (normal, without magnet) cover. I wished it used the proximity sensor, as done while calling.

I have been using "Gravity Screen - On/Off" app for years with my RN2 flip cover, it works like a charm.
I can recommend WaveUp.
It's free and open source; it works on Redmi Note 2 (at least with CyanogenMod 12.1) and you can install it via F-Droid or Play Store.
Hi
I am enable flip cover mode but by mobile restart now and it is now lock also not open pls help me.

Pairing SCR24 Style cover to D6603 without NFC?

Hi, due to various reasons the NFC on my Z3 is irrepairably busted. Is there any way to get around the pairing of the smart cover without NFC?
Phone is rooted so if there are any super technical ways feel free to give suggestions.
Thank you!
I was looking through the build.prop and saw these lines that looked kind of interesting. Could these have anything to do with it?
ro.qti.sensors.max_mag_rate=false
sys.cover_state=0
It's to my understanding that once a cover is paired the magnetic sensor should activate on the phone for any of the style covers. So that leads me to believe that all I need to do is find the line/lines in some config file that activates the mag sensor.
If anyone has any info please feel free to share!
