What does star wars have to do with electronics?
If im not mistaken, star wars needs to generate 1.5 billion to turn a profit. Which will happen easily.

My point is, I bet people will get more enjoyment out of the V10 than the movie.
that's 450,000 in less than two months. October 27th - December 24th NOT bad!! I'm glad they made the V10 because the G4 didn't impress me. OH and I loved the 200GB free sdcard!
AP link: http://www.androidpolice.com/2015/12/24/lg-says-it-has-sold-450000-v10-units-in-45-days/
The sales can be a bit better if the bootloader can be unlocked.
Let's see how many percent is T-Mobile version.
Ready this thread as I wait to go see Star Wars in 45 minutes lol.
I love my V10, wishing it had root though.
Hopefully the good sales will spawn some good development.
I'm impressed with the numbers sold - yet there's so little marketing on it.
It is a strong phone and does everything I need it to.
Glad I was ahead of the curve on this phone!

I love the V10. Coming from 6P -> S6 Edge -> Note 5 and now V10. V10 checks more items on my list than any of the others. They really nailed it with V10, IMHO.
Note 5 already posted on swappa and S6 Edge and 6P sold. Hoping it will last a while. So far build feels super solid and I have nothing to complain about lol

I will continue reading and researching as i finish this post.
Besides being brand new from google any reason to not to help the guys selling a Used but new condition?
Are there any versions to watch out for.? like will new be one that is harder to root or custom roms.?( i know with my Tf101 they had more than one that had diff rules for updating .
Are there any big diff from the diff versions (if exist). What was fixed/ made worse.
To help im on Att and i know it will work with my lte but Is a call still needed to att even though im LTE on a SGS4?
Just to explain why i ask this as i know the gurus here can answer most my questions quicker than i can search due to my inability to spell worth a crap.
Thanks ahead.

Ok, you're off the hook
Two versions- one for North America (D820) and one for the rest of the world (D821)- order from the play store and you'll be fine. I'd get it new, it's cheap enough and then you're protected by Google's warranty and their customer service is pretty excellent.
It's a Nexus so rooting is as easy as can be, just unlock the bootloader, flash or boot a custom recovery, and flash SU. Voila.
Since you're on AT&T, just pop the sim out of your GS4 and put it into the N5 and it'll work just like that. I switch between my Moto X and N5 daily.
Hope that answers all your questions.

There's only one hardware version. Rev 11 I believe. Anything you might have heard about a new revision is just conjecture.

You can check the hardware revision by going into bootloader mode (hold down both VOLUME DOWN & POWER at the same time until the bootloader pop up). As far as I know the latest hardware revision says "rev 11". I can not confirm if there really is a previous hardware revision and a new one because some users are saying there's no such thing and others are saying there is.

Ive had 7 diff stangs and only one chevy wanna be race car and that was a camaro i gladly sold.
So im guess this quote
"When did you purchase it? Is this rev 2 of the nexus? (larger speaker grills, etc)"
and this description
"Up for grabs today is a barely used Nexus 5 32GB. What you see is not a stock photo but a picture of what is actually available. As you can see in the pictures you have the original box with all the accessories. The Nexus 5 underwent revisions that have been released and this is the 311k revision"
That are both from the swappa section are what?

311k is not the revision. That's the date it was built. I believe "11" equals November which is the 11th month and I believe "3" equal 2013. For example the newest version will be 402k.
The "supposed" hardware revision must be for behind the scenes things that we don't physically notice because even the brand new red version still has the same size speaker holes/grill.

You know nothing is more responsive and cheaper to gain performance than a 350 Chevy versus Fords 351. The only thing Ford has that's better than Chevy is the F150 and they're 9 inch rear!

I never liked GMs. I had a 1500 and it just wasn't a very good truck. I'm Ford all the way, my last one was a gorgeous mint '95 Bronco. That said, I'm currently driving a '13 Dodge Challenger R/T Blacktop. Next vehicle will hopefully be a Ford Raptor.

Notice you picked all the Ford trucks and not the cars. I admit Ford is the leader when it comes to their trucks but that's about where it stop.
I love the Challenger out of all the Retro Muscle cars of its year. The Camaro and Mustang don't look as good. Also the Challenger sounds reminiscent of a 5.0 Mustang once you get exhaust and I love that old classic 5.0 sound! It reminds me of my childhood (I'm 24).

Yeah, my Ford loyalty starts and stops with their trucks, but seeing as though aside from the Challenger I've only ever owned trucks, I don't have much experience with their cars. While I'm not a fan of Camaros at all, I actually do like the Mustang, but literally EVERYONE drives one around here so they kinda lost their wow factor. I used to drool over the '70 Challenger T/A when I was a kid so that's kinda why I bought this one. Dodge really nailed the retro look, and the moment I saw the Blacktop I was sold. I haven't put exhaust on it yet but it's coming, eventually.

Have you heard the Challengers with exhaust? They sound so good!!! Please tell me yours is a manual. My only gripe with the Challenger is that its the heaviest out of all the retro Muscle cars so its a bit slower in the quarter mile but I know a guy around my way that has a matte black one with a supercharger. He claims he's putting out close to 800hp. The engine is stroked/bored also.

Yeah they sound sick with exhaust. I'm planning on throwing on the mopar branded Borla exhaust once I save up a little extra cash. It's got a real nice tone when you go WOT, but isn't too loud when you're just driving through the neighborhood.
It's an auto. It's my daily driver and I figured I'd grow tired of the stick after a while. I did have to sleep on that decision though. I'm an old man now, and when I drive I just want to relax and do the minimal required work lol. Yeah, it is heavy, and not as fast as the other two but it's fast enough for me. Again, I'm a truck guy so I've never driven anything this fast before. It's a much larger car than the other two and it's a LOT more roomy. Fair trade off. It's got a built in 0-60 timer and I did 4.9 out of the toll booth the other day. Not to shabby.

I do love that its roomy as well. Its definitely reminiscent of the muscle cars back in the day. The Muscles cars back then were a 2 door sedan unopposed to a 2 door coupe like what we have now. I love my dads Buick Grand National which is very roomy although some may claim it isn't a true muscle car since its a turbo v6 (from the factory), he now have a built big block 396 cranking out 600+ horses all motor.

It actually is a 2 door sedan- it's a shortened LX platform which is what the Charger and 300 are built on. And since it's a 2 door sedan, my insurance company doesn't consider it a sports car, and my premium is dirt cheap. Nice bonus. It would have been double had I got a Mustang. And yeah, call them what you will but Grand Nationals are gorgeous cars. One of my old neighbors had an '87 Grand National and an '87 Monte Carlo fastback. Wasn't a huge fan of the look of the fastback but man that Grand National was beautiful.

Nothing like a GN or a GNX in the mid 80's. It was a grocery getter, very quiet and very fast. My dad told me that he raced a GN with a Monte Carlo he had and after he lost he knew he had to get one. He thought he got beat by a Regal. At the time he had no idea what it was. After that he literally owned over 10+ (of course not all at once).
Now his prized possession is his 92 Typhoon. He won't sell it for nothing. He had it since 94.

Here I am sitting on the fence with my trusty note 2 waiting and watching for a release that will make the decision for me.
I'm not ashamed to admit that a little squeal escaped when I saw the removable battery and SD slot in the release video!
I hope this one is a good one! It sure looks promising to me!
Great move by LG, would be willing to upgrade my Note 4 for it.

Thank you LG for doing what Samsung couldn't. They still care about power users. Will be upgrading my Note 4 on release.
heh, i think the note 4 has better battery life than this thing. even the g4 will have better battery.
video kills battery like nobody's business. was listening to a reviewer say he flattened the battery on the g4 within an hour of 4k recording. you cant record an hour of 4k but take many 4k clips and see how long it lasts.
I expect sd card to make a return with next years samsungs. replaceable battery, however ? hmm...that is not clear.
If this comes out on Sprint.... Bye Bye Note 3.

Now that LG is adding 200GB sd card and an extra battery and charger, this is going to be a tough deal to beat at 599 on T-Mobile.

I'm still using the G3, I'm not sure about the G4, though. I'm a huge Nexus fan, but I absolutely have to record videos of my 4 year old while he can still walk and play, in a few more years we're only going to have these memories and the V10 seems to be the cream of the crop in the video recording department.
I really do think that I'm going to have to buy this phone on Friday.
I've been obsessing in the 6p forum for weeks reading everything I can trying to decide between the 2.
Really the only thing holding me back is "do i want to try the nexus experience? Or do I want to be stuck in carrier update limbo land?"
But seriously, I'm on a note 2 running 4.1.2. I'm scared of updates. Maybe hanging out in LG land will be fine....
And... What a deal!
(might be jealous of those front facing speakers though...)

I'm glad to hear this. I preordered my Note 2 and it's been the greatest phone I've ever had. I've had 2 phones since that I returned in favor of keeping it. Unfortunately, I broke it a few days ago, and I'm having trouble moving on, as opposed to repairing it yet again.
I too was very interested in the N6P. But this phone came to us like sent from above... I can't think of a single thing this device doesn't have!!! We talk about the perfect phone every time a new device leaks. This one might be the closest thing to it in my opinion, and based on specs alone. . .
The only thing I think stopping people on this forum is the root aspect of things and will the bootloader unlocked. Regardless. This phone is going to be fantastic. Cannot wait to pick one up.

LG is probably one of the best when it comes to trying to push updates quickly on their flagships. The carriers still take a little bit of time, but they're the first to announce lollipop update (G3) and first to announce marshmallow update (G4). So if you were to pick anything besides a nexus, LG would be best (they do make a few Nexus devices after all).

Had the same feeling coming from my 3.5 year old galaxy S3 with OctOS. I'll forever have fond memories of all the Verizon peeps freaking out because it was the only carrier to lock the bootloader, then watching the forum posts pile up as Adam Outler cracked it open like the boss he is/was.
Just my .02 on the V10.. Love the feel/durability, love the screen, love the camera, love the $50 G-pad promo from verizon paired with the 200gb mSD and extra battery promo from LG.. HATE stock android!! So much.. I forgot how much bloat and garbage they can put a phone before the customer ever does anything with it and how little you can actually mess with the device. It was so hard to desert my Note 2. I have phone attachment issues. When I turned off my Note 2 to move the sd card I started thinking too much. I felt so guilty. I looked down and the screen said it's "goodbye" message and I teared up! In. The. Store
So embarassing.

This is the best post I've read on XDA in a long time hahahaha. I can picture it now:
You: Hi, I'm picking up the new LG V10 today, do you have it in stock?
Rep: Yes, we just got the shipment for them this afternoon!
You: Great! I would like one please.
Rep: Sure thing, what phone are you coming from?
You: The Galaxy Note II... *pauses to think about the memories from owning a phone for ~3 years* It's my friend. My best friend. My lover.
Rep: .....Let me get the phone for you.
You: *begins to power off phone, the iconic DOO doo DOO doo doooo T-Mobile chime plays, followed by Goodbye!*
NooooooooooOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOooooooooooooooooooo!
Sorry for the seriously OT post, made me laugh way harder than it should've.
I didn't even think I wanted or needed to update my Nexus 4, but this promo is way too good. I'll be getting the phone today, hoping that LG hasn't run out of batteries and SD cards by the time I submit the request.
Stupid LG, making me spend money when my phone still works, but man am I looking forward to getting the phone tonight.
I am eagerly wtng for this hot one.. n trading off my edge plus.. as of now only available on ebay for 79999.. any idea when will it cm to India.
Is this thing even coming to India ?
At the beginning of the month, LG's US press release said...
The LG V10, available initially in Korea starting this month, is coming soon to the United States, as well as and key countries in Asia, Latin America and the Middle East. Information regarding launch dates will be announced locally in the weeks to come.

The G4 launched in India a month and a half after the US which was the beginning of June. That means mid december if there ever is to be a v10 Indian release. At what price ? 64GB note 5 has a mrp of 60k. So v10 is 50-60k and G4 will be around the 35k mark.
Wait three months for the price to come down, we're in March 2016. Just 3 months away from the G5. Devices with 820 cpu will already be out.
yeah, it looks good but how much sense does it make ?
This thing is big too. See the comparison
Thnx for info... bt yes really strange they pushed g series so rigidly in india. And now this beauty they showing attitude

They don't have it in black
You want a dark colour as the back is going to show dirt more easily otherwise.

More a "tour" than a review. There are two kinds of testing, objective and subjective. The latter is more opinion which that video is. I want to see how S-835 and Exynos 8955 compare to each other and their predecessors, how the new Mali and Adreno GPU's stack up, how the new camera's compare to their predecessors and others on the market, battery life and charging time, and brightness and energy use of the new displays. GSMArena, Anandtech, and Notebookcheck are the best at those types of objective tests and they use the same battery of tests consistently across all the devices they test.
Here's Notebookcheck's early hands-on...

Same one for me too (exynos version here though so hopefully can be rooted)
Going to go with the silver version. Felt like a change from the always dark colors, and it might not show fingerprints as badly.
I got stuck behind a fraud alert and now T-Mobile hasn't charged again it's been 2 days should I cancel and order thru Samsung site? I did pay the phone in full well I was going to if it went through hahaha. Whatcha guys think ?

Or you wait three days from when you would have received your pre-order and go in to a T-Mobile store and pick it up there. The pre-order frenzy in the T-Mobile thread is farcical. In two weeks anyone (in the U.S.) who wants a S8 can have one. The amount of energy and time being consumed by some people to get the phone a couple of days ahead of launch seems kind of odd. The irony is, at least with the Note7, AT&T'rs got their phones via FedEx before 95% of T-Mobile'rs got theirs via UPS. And the latter had tracking numbers days earlier. To each their own.

Did they say how long it would take for them to re charge your card? I see people placing orders today and have already been charged and also have shipping labels.
Sorry but it's not a great review. The amateurishness of this guy is evident when he says that the samsung chip is even better than Apple's A10 fusion chip. Also adds a sardonic "sorry apple fans"
Obviously this guy is a novice. Because any reputable You tuber knows and as seen in many videos, the iphone 7 plus wipes the floor with Samsung Galaxy S8. He sounds like a very obvious paid reviewer for Samsung.
Don't get me wrong. I have preordered the S8+. But let's be real here. In terms of sheer performance and optimization, no one can touch the iphones.

i gave up on trying hahah i just ordered from samsung with the bundle
Though I have pre ordered the S8+ I am not excited about it? Generally when a new mobile is due I get like a school kid at Christmas and count the hours and days away. The Note 7 drove me crazy and when it arrived it was MORE than I could ever wish for, simply a superb mobile and I have been buying them since 1989 when they where bricks! (I wrote Bricks!)
I have read what few Youtube reviews there are and the S8 is just not giving me that buzz you know the feeling that's why you are on this forum.
Am I the only one feeling this way?
'Maybe' its after owning the Note 7, no mobile has come even close to it for me? Maybe its just the evolution of the S brand more than the revolution that made that Note 7 stand out? Since the Note 7 I have owned 3 mobiles and they have all been just tools non of them has given me pride of ownership, non of them have got that wow factor.
I promised myself I would NOT purchase the S8+ and wait for the Note 8. I am so weak.....Is there another shrink in the house? Heeeeelp. :crying:
Hope you all enjoy a great Easter. :good:

Maybe don't upgrade as often and when you do you'll see a huge upgrade. Coming from the Moto x pure I'm happy to finally have usb-c, fingerprint reader, better IPS rating, better camera, ability to pair to 2 bluetooth devices ect... If you already have the S7 this phone isn't really that much of an improvement. Usually ever 2 years is a good measure if you can wait that long. I went from S3 to S5... From S5 to s6 didn't seem like that much of an improvement so I jumped to Moto x pure before the S7 came out.

The Note 7 was a revolutionary mobile, never owned one like it and it has spoiled me for buying other mobiles. I do hope the Note 8 is as accomplished.

If you have the means then do it.
I am personally more excited for this device than i have been for a long time. When they stole my Note 7 from me, i was angry and hurt and as a way to lash out, i went Apple! Just like so many mistakes made as a youth, it turns out i wasnt hurting anyone but myself. Sadly, there wasnt really another phone out there to go for since i had went from the s7 to the Note 7. Now, im anxious to get back.

I would still have my note 4 now if it did not break and Samsung would not fix it but replaced it with a s7. The screen size it everything for me as I watch everything on it. Sold the new s7 cannot wait for my s8+ 5.1inch way to Small for a top end phone these days
This "review" put a bit of a dampener on things, but being a Note 4 user for the past few years I am probably due an upgrade. Pre-ordered S8+, probably will mean I won't be getting any Note 8 as I have always honored my 2 year contracts since my first S2 "smart phone"

Coming from the S6 I'm very excited about it, going to get it in a week or less The overall specs updates for me are a reason to upgrade in themselves, the display, and other features that attract S7 owners adding to it.
But honestly speaking, I do feel a bit backstabbed by Samsung. The phone here in Finland cost more here than anywhere else in the world, and I got NO bonuses of any sort with it, while people in other countries are getting free 256gb SD cards and VR headsets. The bonuses aren't anything that I would particularly use, but it feels kind of rude from Samsung that some areas are left out on bonuses completely, while having a higher price than anywhere else.
But nevertheless, I haven't lost a single bit of the hype I had at launch (and for months before it, based on leaks), and I have all reasons to believe that it's going to be an amazing phone. Going to be a long week to wait
Coming from the Nexus 6P, I'm pretty pumped. Last Samsung phone I had was the note 4, note 2 before that and s2. I think I'm more excited for not being able to root again and seeing if I could take it with the s8 plus lol. But overall I'm curious to see how Samsung has progressed over the years.

I'm upgrading from a Note 4 which I got on release day back in 2014. I had a Note 7 on order but it was recalled before I received it.
Really looking forward to the S8+. This is the longest I've ever gone without upgrading my handset.

Same scenario. I didn't even know that the Note 7 was due for release, had searched if Nougat was available for Note 4 as some apps were updating for Android N. Search had showed me that Note 7 was being pre-ordered with Gear VR. I pre-ordered, but was told the VR promotion wasn't available.

Im more curious at this point than excited, curious to see if I will like the aspect ratio or not.
If I like it then I will swap for a exynos device which will hopefully be BL unlocked and have root, twrp etc.
Hard to get excited about a model (snapdragon) that will see never see any of that more than likely.

My s8 plus and my wifes s8 will be here tomorrow. I have rooted since the Q... so while i have played with the s8 and think its a great phone i ha e concerns i will return it for lack of root. I have the note 5 right now because of root. I will keep my note 5 just in case i cant handle not having root. Not overly excited though because of lack of root
