Hello! I have just been lurking here for a while, but never thought about signing up. I hope this is the right section.
Here's the research I have done on this topic. Please feel free to correct me if I got something wrong.
(Running CM 12.1)
LG G3 (ATT) uses a Broadcom "BCM4339" chipset WiFi card. | [Q] Does this card support Packet Injection and/or Monitor Mode in any way, shape, or form?
bcmon is no longer being updated. | [Q] Would it be possible to somehow "make" bcmon recognize and support the 4339?
And finally, if this is possible and if its a relatively simple task, could anyone be generous enough to actually provide me with in-depth instructions or a ready to go version (of bcmon or something similar)?
Heck, I'll even be happy if anyone were to somehow point me in the right direction.
~Mike
Hey,
I am pretty new to the Xda Forums aswell. And i was doing researches like you in order to run bcmon -hopefully also reaver- on my d855.
I think Nexus 5 has the same bcm4339 chipset aswell and there are some solutions on the net to get nexus 5 to monitor mode. But i am not sure if those can also work out for g3.
Pls post it in this thread if you find any ways to get lg g3 to monitor mode..
Thanx.

Hi everybody,
I have been trying to catch up on the recent development in android porting.
Now, I am planning to get a new phone. Since my carrier does not sell the g1, I am wondering which would be the best working alterntive? Meaning which port would allow to use most/all feature of android?
I do need gps working now or in the near future to make this a viable alternative to me.
I have been looking at the ports of which I already know of, being the port to the vogue and to the diamond.
To my understanding (please correct me) the vogue lacks the gps hardware.
So the only device left is the diamond. Or are there any other phones which I have overseen, that sport gps, and a progressing/working port of android?
To sum it all up:
Which device gets the most attention by the dev community regarding the port of android to it?
Which one is at the moment the best working port (which device)?
Which phone poses to be the most promising device for a fully fledge port in the future?
I would be quite thankful, if anybody in the know, or even someone the porting community could give me some insight or even a proper roundup on my options here.
regards and thx for your help and insights in advance,
trial
Vogue has the GPS hardware, but AFAIK, GPS is far off for any Android port.
General Mobile is coming out with an alternative Android phone, it also has dual sim slots.

I'm waiting for this to come out and to see some reviews.
Check the Google Android developer page.
You can buy a developer version phone for $399
All you have to do is register as a developer which cost $25(I think).
Edit: Not really for porting to but you did mention you couldn't get a G1, so I'm assuming you're open to a native Android phone.
ok guys.
first of all, thx for your replies.
i am not really planning to get the real g1 (even the dev version), since i am not really satisfied with its hw.
i figured it'd be easier to get a used htc device off ebay, which would be capable of running android.
So, I'd be willing to wait - which device looks the most promising in running a full android port?
Is there any effort whatsoever on the gps for the vogue or any other device? Is it likely that it will work at all?
thx for your info again
First let me introduce myself. The name is Darcy and I have been casually using linux and other *nix OS for about a decade. I am in school working on a programing degree ATM, and am a pretty quick study. Anyways, I without much research bought my wife a generic 7" tablet running android 1.6. I know what processor it has and Im hoping that leads me to a place to start. Ok so the device is a "Kasser Net'sGo" we didnt realize that its just a china pad with another companys name on it when we ordered it. So most of the apps dont run correctly, and in general the device sucks(on a software level the HW is fine although generic).
Anyways it apears that i can get into recovery mode to flash if i had no other choices. But since there are no official roms im hoping to find a build thats based on the same CPU or similar hardware to find a starting point. Its running the Marvell Aspen 800mhz chip and standard ddr2. Sadly thats all we have been able to find out about this device.
I have compiled custom builds for linux before, and i have now purchased a Gtab so i have a less garbage device to test some things on(i have allready flashed 2 different roms and fooled with a bunch of the settings). But we would realy like to do something with this other tablet. So if anyone can point me in the direction of some info on how to do android builds or a repository of chipset drivers and such that might help me that would be greatly appreciated.
First, I know there are threads for this, but the forum won't let me post there, so I am posting here. I can't find any guides for this and the development threads are not much help.
I've been trying to figure out a way to completely remove Android from a moto droid and replace it with a real Linux distro. I currently have a pair of old Moto Droids that I don't have calling or 3G on anymore (both phones replaced with newer Androids). One is fully working, the other has a messed up touchscreen (displays fine, does not detect finger correctly).
I want Android gone...all the way; not dualboot, not VNC, nothing like that...just like a miniature PC that happens to have an ARM processor.
Can anyone point me at a guide?
Hi guys, I would really like to help get my phone supported in the mobile Odin app. I am using the LG CONNECT Android phone from Metro PCS, I have pretty much been flying by the seat of my pants learning the Android OS, rooting my phone, figuring out Titanium Backup, etc, etc but I have yet to mess with the custom ROM stuff (just can't find anyone to help me). It's kinda hard for me to get access to a Winduows PC (but I can get my buddies laptop if need be) and my Mac is the old PPC VERSION 10.4.11 and all the phone hacking stuff is written for Mac OS 10.5 and up and I can't install that OS on my PPC G5 so I can't use the programs out there to change my ROM from stock to custom and the mobile Odin app seems to be right up my alley. I see that I can't post in that forum so if there is someone that can will you tell the dev that I want to help get the LG phones supported? It's an awesome phone IMO, dual 1.2 ghz cpu and 2gb of internal memory. Everything i throw at it (apps, games) works great! So I would love to help him get my phone supported if someone can pass the word for me?
Thanks a ton guys,
Alex
Hello, first time poster here!
Let me start off by saying that I have lurked XDA Forums for quite some time, what a great resource this place is for guides on rooting and rom flashing!
I literally just bought an LG Optimus L70 version MS323_0220 KitKat. for $99 new from Best Buy. I was able to root this device with GeoHotz TowelRoot APK method and enable writing to the external SD Card with an additional application.
I am interested in flashing CyanogenMod on this device. I have read that no one has yet unlocked the bootloader ( I haven't found any resources for that anyway ). I have had CyanogenMod on nearly all of my devices in the past ( I break my phone screens a lot, drop in water, etc. ) and I must say that CyanogenMod Firmware is the best Firmware hands down. I don't think I can live without CyanogenMod. I haven't seen any resource that would get CyanogenMod on this device.
So really my question is: Has anyone successfuly flashed the CM Firmware for this device? If not, does it look like CM will be available for this device or should I just return it to the store and get something else?
I am a Computer Programmer ( mostly web languages, but I do C++ also and I'm a quick learner with the right direction ), but I am not too familliar with the Android SDK or Android frameworks, bootloaders, etc. I just know that it's ****ing awesome. I use Linux for everything. Tomato OS on my routers, CM on my previous devices, Arch Linux on my laptop.
If none have flashed CM Firmware, but you need another programmer on your team hit me up, because I do get some free time and I could work on such a project for this device. But do tell me if it looks grim for CM on this device because I'll just take it back and pay a little extra for something else that already has CM available for it. If not, we could coordinate here or on IRC in doing development for this device.
The reasons I'd like to keep this device are because of a few different factors: According to the phones hardware specs it operates on multiple bands, it's LTE, CDMA, GSM and the frequencies can operate on AT&T, T-Mobile, MetroPCS and a handful of other service providers. It's cheap ($99), has decent hardware (dual core snapdragon, 1gb ram, 4gb rom, gorilla glass 3, 2040 MiliAMP hours, 4.5" WVGA screen with a fair resolution but with CM you could increase the resolution based on the processor specs and rewrite the camera software to get better operation out of it) all in all it's a great phone for the price and CM would make it 100x better.
Also, I don't feel this thread fits into a Q&A so I posted it here, I understand how anal mods are at keeping threads organized because I'm the same way, but looking at the Q&A threads I don't think it fits into that category.
Thanks XDA!
Hi!
Welcome!
Here is a thread about root for your device......but, I don't think anyone has rooted some of the carriers, including yours unfortunately.
However....its a great thread to ask about it in....see of anyone has figured out any ways.

Again, as far as I've read, this won't work for you....but you can discuss it there.
Good luck! ?

Oh....so yeah, no CM obviously.
