I am glad the device came on top of LG G4 which has an identical hardware.
Does anyone know what he Moto X has 2.47gb of ram from 3.0? Even lg g3 has like 2.8usable out of 3.0

Kernel is tuned differently, in my SGSIII different kernels gave different system ram capacities.
Hi,
Just ran it and got 73264. Pretty consistent with your score, not bad!!

I get 50k on my test.. Rooted.. Truexmm rom.. How can I get 70k.. Is it a custom kernel I need to install?

Hi,
Like original poster, I'm 100% total stock.
You should be a lot better than 50k!!!!!!!
Ken
I'm getting around 50k as well. Completely stock on mm.
My modified stock rom, and VadimTK kernel. Only change to kernel is sdcard read ahead set to noop and 2048.
These articles seemed to only get around 50k. You guys who are getting 70k seem to be the exception.
https://www.androidpit.com/motorola-moto-x-style-review
http://m.gsmarena.com/moto_x_style_pure_edition-review-1308p5.php
Both of those are with Antutu 5, while our tests are with Antutu 6. 20,000 points is a large difference. Only time I got a 50k result was when I had the cpu's set to performance instead of the stock interactive.
Managed a 72k without a clean boot or clearing background processes...
Sent from my XT1575 using Tapatalk
Mine is single Sim Asian version has only around 33k
Reran the test only this time I turned off force gpu rendering and my score increased from 53k to 66k. I had initially turned it on hoping to improve the lagginess I was experiencing.

No secret... Stock MM, rooted and using force GPU rendering.
Guess I got one of the lucky ones, has no yellowing in the screen, no lagginess on anything, and great battery life... Favorite phone to date.

Finally hitting 70k..flash new custom kernel and trupurexmm rom
Phone indeed running good. Haven't changed anything. Just pure stock 6.0
Stock marshmallow rooted, Stock Kernel, and nothing changed in developer options
Completely stock other than systemless root and xposed
Didn't get a screen capture, but got 72,235 using AICP MM from 1/3/16 which was a test build
I just clean flashed a new nightly, will test again shortly.
This is after 1/6 nightly

Why nobody has made this up yet is beyond me. I tried searching and it doesn't seem anyone has released the new HTC kernel by itself, only packaged in a ROM.
So here you all go.
A couple points of interest: (READ EVERYTHING)
This will overwrite your /system/build.prop as some values have changed for the new kernel. I am too lazy right now to write a script to only make the needed changes.
If you have tweaked your density, it will be reverted to stock.
Your ROM version will also show as "Mixed 2.6.32.15" in settings / about / software.
If you flash anything after this that modifies /system/build.prop, and is not designed specifically for this kernel, best of luck to you.
In keeping with my current practices, flashing this (except maybe in strange cases) will NOT require you to wipe *anything*, including caches.
This should be compatible with most any ROM. Right now it is only confirmed working on VaelPak 2.1.
Cheers!
As always, I am not responsible if this blows up your device. It is happily running on mine.

My phone hung on the boot screen. I'm on Baked Snack 1.75. Is there any chance you could repackage this with Koush's kernal updater?

Not sure what all the hype is with this Kernel. Personally it gives me terrible battery life.
I repacked the kernel in Koush's tool but it still isn't getting past the splash screen on BS 1.75. I'm puzzled.

I don't see how my phone has been up for 14 hours last it was plugged in was at 11:30 am central time and I've used the hell out of it for 4hrs 30 mins and battery is at 53% its 4:30 pm central time. This HTC kernel is better than any other HTC kernel made for the evo.
I unchecked enable on always mobile data and turned roaming of to just Sprint towers lowered screen light a little bit unabled haptic feedback on keyboard and rom and also added the undervolt.ko to the rom I found on this website some where in the evo development section. Also using autokiller app and no set CPU or overclock widget.

Got back to your nand backup, I ALWAYS wipe the dalvik cache and cache when flashing a new kernel. Try that.
Tried this as well no go as of now
I think this is why no one has posted up a flashable kernel with this kernel cause I've tried this kernel on a 3.2.6 Rom back when this kernel was first available and it was a no go.

Thanks a lot. Honestly, I really hate ROMs. I much prefer being able to essentially build and customize myself without someone else's customizations. Update.zips are the best.
yeah I think this needs the 3.28.651.1 framework
Would you guys want a update.zip with just the kernel and framework? Or just the framework? I figured most roms would be using it by now (the framework at least)
Also, caches can be wiped in the update script, which I do. Before and after the flash for good measure. Cache, boot cache, and dalvik.

Same result here, flashed runfirst.zip, then kernal and Battery.zip and it boots into a black screen.
I installed "Kernal, Battery % & Stock Android Lockscreen" before the runfirst thing got released, and it seems to have worked just fine for me. 3G is working, and losing about 1% an hour on standby, so I'm satisfied. Welcome to my thread for the Jiayu G3N, the new release of the G3 with the s501 chip.
I have ported GThrill ROM v3.0 to the G3N.
GThrill is based on Cyanogenmod 10. It is Jelly bean 4.1.2. There is currently no theme support, but I'll look into that in future builds.
Details of the GThrill ROM can be found here; http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2163707
This ROM should have all the features of the official ROM, (and more!) the only changes are behind-the-scenes.
Features
- based on "CM10"
- Jellybean 4.1.2
- system/framework zipaligned
- init.d support
- zipalign on the fly (script by Wes Garner)
- slim and light: removed unwanted apps
- host file (to block known ad servers/hosts)
- some build.prop tweaks from different sources
- contains some lines from V6 supercharger script (by zeppelinrox, particularly kernel tweaks)
- Jellybean Keyboard (SWIPE feature)
- Google Chrome browser (bundled stock browser FCs)
- Language: English, French, Chinese, German,
Confirmed working;
Bluetooth
Wifi
GPS
Yet to be tested;
FM Radio
Known bugs;
Front camera is dark and seems to take dark pictures. Setting the mode to night and then back again fixed this. Bizzarely, the front camera seems to be taking 3MP images although it only has a 2MP sensor. I am looking into this. It looks like the camera software has been ported from an Amoi N820, which has a 3MP front facing camera.
With regards to overclocking and undervolting, I have not heard of any kernels for any MT6577 devices that have offered this. And I'm sure better men than me have tried!
If there is another G3 ROM that you'd like to see ported, or improvements you'd like to see made on this ROM, leave comments below
If your language is not supported, install morelocale from the Play store. You can use it to select any language you wish!
Disclaimer: As with things XDA, you do all these things entirely at your own risk, I am not responsible EVEN IF Kim Jong Un flashes this, it breaks his G3N and in a fit of rage, he declares nuclear war on everyone.
Install instructions:
First, get root and install clockworkmod following the guide here; http://www.modaco.com/topic/359590-...very-ics-spell-check-fixed-jelly-bean-update/
Then place the zip file on your SD cart, boot into recovery and install!
Flashable zip, install via the recovery of your choice. Confirmed working on CWM. This is a full ROM, not a patch.
Remember to backup your files and previous ROM!
You shouldn't need to do a full wipe if going from a 4.1.2 ROM to this, but I recommend that you do. (I didn't )
If going from a 4.04 ROM to this, you MUST do a factory reset in CWM, otherwise it won't boot.
Please don't mirror my files!
Enjoy
EDIT 14/04/2013 Lolfisch v1.1 released!
Changelog;
-Numerous build.prop tweaks to improve browsing speeds, performance and to remove USB debugging icon (USB debugging can still be enabled in settings)
-Fixed LED wakelock issue. Deep sleep mode now works, improving battery life. (Thanks to evirus for his help)
-Fixed Clock app by replacing it with 4.2 clock. If you're still getting forced close's when trying to set an alarm, clear the app's data.
-Fixed Handcent SMS incompatibility
-Updated 4.2 keyboard using a Nexus 4 ROM. Runs smoother now.
-Updated Calendar app to the one from the play store. Now the app will update automatically as it is linked to the play store
Install instructions:
Flashable zip, install via the recovery of your choice. Confirmed working on CWM & TWRP recoveries. This is a full ROM, not a patch.

Interesting, I got a score of 5659 on Antutu. Probably SD card write speeds, I guess.
I'm going to try and improve performance further by making sure V6 supercharger is implemented properly and porting thunderzap kernel if a jelly bean version is released.
The mt6577 has been reported as being overclockable to speeds of 1.4ghz. That would be an amazing performance boost! But we need source code for that, so it is quite unlikely.

Yeah, thunderzap is the thing you sent me, silly
I would definitely recommend Jelly Bean over ICS, even with overclock. The UI is nicer, you get Google Now, plus with project butter, you get better performance/battery drain. I'm loving this ROM's speed, plays HD videos with no lag . If you want it to run faster, you can chance the CPU governor to performance to ensure the phone is always running at max frequency. If you do, I'd recommend a tasker setup to change this when you turn the screen off. I'm currently running ondemand with screen on and powersave with screen off.

I'm not sure how kernels work but I'm pretty sure that the governor is not core specific. That's why you cant set core 1. However, I'm not sure if taker is having any effect on the CPU at all ATM!

tasker somehow works..I checked using CPU spy, frequency and governor are applied, but only one core works via SystemPanel app..so I still use tasker for "screen off" event, so I can have single core locked down at 250mhz when screen is off..

One strange thing (G3N, stock rom ics 4.0):
if I press/hold the VOL- button (+ the power button) I boot into "factory mode"
then, I can go up and down highlihting a few choices BUT can't select any, because only vol buttons seem to work
(no button seem to act as "enter" to activate the "selected" choice.
Any idea?

I have been using Custom Rom's for a while. But this is usually to bring a phone up to the latest possible Android version well after the manufacturer has stopped updating a device . I have been using Nexus devices so typically this is 18 months after a model is first introduced. Bit of a sore point with me coming from iPhones which get supported for much longer period. but I digress.
In the case of the Moto G. I question whether it is beneficial ATM to install a custom ROM? I have tried a couple, but have been quite disappointed up till now with reliability and performance.
So for now I have stayed with the standard Moto G Rom. Then tweaked it a little by doing the following.
1. Unlocked the phone
2. Rooted using TWRP (couldn't get CWM to work right)
3. Eliminated the Unlocked warning screen at start up :- http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2548530
4. Changed the 3G data to H, H+ format :- http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2600654
5. Installed Qualcomm-optimized bionic and dalvic from here :- http://forum.xda-developers.com/nexus-4/general/4-4-4-4-x-qualcomm-optimized-dalvik-t2546120 (thanks @drfr )
6. Installed a new Faux123 Kernel, flcon_umts-faux123-kk-005u-signed.zip from here :- http://faux.romhost.me/falcon_umts/kk44/
7. From Play store installed the xposed installer
8. From Play Store added module Gravity box (KK)
9. From Play Store added module Ringer & Notification Volume
10. Installed the Apex launcher
11. From Play Store purchased Faux123 Kernel Enhancement Pro (couldn't find a free tool that worked!)
Result is a very stable ROM together with most of the little tweaks that I like to get from a Custom ROM. Plus everything works great. The current Antutu result is 19860.
So my general question, what is the advantage of using a Custom Rom, when for at the moment at least, the manufacturers ROM is fully up to date and with a few simple tweaks provides Custom Rom like appearance, together with great stability and performance?
As far as I know, the stock rom has a lot of optimizations for the Moto G hardware. For instance, its based on F2FS which is something the GPE Moto G does not have going for it.

That´s exactly the way I see things too. Played around with custom ROMs for a while and then came back to stock + all the enhancements you mentioned. Just a note to the point 5 of your list. Optimized dalvik and bionic are already included in stock ROMs.
I have this way of thinking too. So just going through the steps 1, 2, 3, 7, 8 and 10. My phone is excellent.

Thank you, I didn't know that, funny but I could swear that Antutu improved! I am still trying to decide if Point 6. Faux123 is really worth it. The 1.6gh/z over clocking is working and I am still getting two days of average use per charge. Can't decide either way really......
Same here, at this point, custom roms (non stock based) are non sense, since the stock is almost Aosp and updated as hell. Xposed is all you need.

All you need is Xposed, Faux kernel and the optimized Dalvik :S

Correct me if I am wrong but the stock roms from moto are equipped with the Qualcomm-optimized bionic and dalvik patches, aren't they?
If not where can I find this patches?

Great antutu result. Mostly due to the overclock. CM based roms doesnt have working overclock yet.
Im far away from that 19860 antutu score, any tips? I installed faux kernel and optimizers from qualcomm and cant get even close to 18000.

True. But its for now and that is because this is a brand new phone also with multiple variants like 1031/2/3
Hence creating a kind of obstruction for a successful ROM dev
Furthermore you don't just dev a ROM to get an Android update.
Its for the different features that people are looking for.
You might wanna try xposed modules.
Hell l0tta options there. Not for now but then for future.
Also then small little tweaks from other phones can be ported to this one.
There are just countless things that you can customize once you are rooted.
I had a Galaxy Ace duos CDMA which had no custom ROM.
But once I got it rooted my phone was so much better.
I had an extended internal memory with my SD card.
The bloatware that covered the small little internal memory was completely removed.
And it was so much faster and Functional with those rooted apps.
If that small little phone could do some magic with rooting.
Then this is a beast.
Half the new functionality that we get on the updates are actually the features of apps that work on rooted phones.
Wifi hotspot for an instance.
Agreed that in the current scenario its really not so useful but rooting your phone is a gift to yourself

How you guys were able to use Faux with Dalvik? Faux only works on my phone with ART. If i try Dalvik, com.android.phone force closes all the time. I also have tried the new dalvik, no luck either.
And that prevents me to use XPosed, cause it doesn't have an ART version. And i really miss GravityBox...
Can someone explain me how to do it?
Moto G Dual Sim (XT1033) with KitKat 4.4.2

You do have all those files, they are not in the same folder. Just search harder.

That rom probably won't work in my phone. I'm on an XT1033 (dual sim)
Someone with stock was able to make faux + dalvik work?
Wouldn't it be easier to update Katana to MM for people who have Katana already if they wanted to update to MM?
Just a thought ?
It would be easy but there are no devs. The dev who did Katana has not been seen on any forum since last fall.

A little better than katana. Katana was great though. I wish there was a Mm version

I'm currently using Katana ROM with some added performance tweaks from PROJECT DARK BOOSTER. A Marshmallow version of Katana would be nice, though.
Yeah still debating if i should stay LL Katana or go MM. Might wait to see if someone actually develops a katana rom in MM.

How is that?
I'm using L Speed (in XDA and Playstore) and it has improved my tablet alot. My tablet was slow and laggy.

After installing Project Dark Booster, my phone feels more responsive than before. Games don't lag as much either. There's also an optional memory swap tweak from it. I didn't feel it was necessary to use it, though.
I also tried L Speed once, but ended up going back to PDB.
