Wouldn't it be easier to update Katana to MM for people who have Katana already if they wanted to update to MM?
Just a thought ?
It would be easy but there are no devs. The dev who did Katana has not been seen on any forum since last fall.

A little better than katana. Katana was great though. I wish there was a Mm version
Sent from my K011 using Tapatalk
I'm currently using Katana ROM with some added performance tweaks from PROJECT DARK BOOSTER. A Marshmallow version of Katana would be nice, though.
Yeah still debating if i should stay LL Katana or go MM. Might wait to see if someone actually develops a katana rom in MM.

I'm using L Speed (in XDA and Playstore) and it has improved my tablet alot. My tablet was slow and laggy.

After installing Project Dark Booster, my phone feels more responsive than before. Games don't lag as much either. There's also an optional memory swap tweak from it. I didn't feel it was necessary to use it, though.
I also tried L Speed once, but ended up going back to PDB.

Ok im a sense ui lover, and recently tried the new nightlies for a couple of weeks and im rather enjoying the stableness of it over the sense roms. now my question is with this nightlies build im on it says 2.3.7 something like that. i noticed on kernal manager lite that v9 and scary are for 2.3.5... will that cause a issue. im currently on nightlies build 214.
Update: also which kernal is more stable and better overall

Difference between 2.3.5 - 2.3.7 google wallet support for the Nexus S. And a few updated core apps and security fixes. Nothing much else as far as I can tell. The 2.3.5 kernels work perfect.
And PershootV9 is probably the best kernel available to date. It's updated and its amazing

Mind you that each shift is different because of the different hardware versions floating out there. Tiamat is unstable and Perfshoot is a horrible performer for me, meanwhile, ScaryKernel rocks on my phone. Best thing to do is try each kernel and find out which performs the best for your phone.
Scary Stable runs great on every nightly I've flashed.

ok thank you guys for the awesome tips. im running V9 right now but i might switch because its a little schetchy when i try to increase the cpu. apps tend to crash and the phone locks up. so im updating to 216 (215 must have been BAD lol) then i will pop scary one and give that a whirl.
quick question. do i have to wipe Dcache and cache 3x each before flashing new rom??

Try Walking the cpu up don't just install and set as high as feel. Work it up higher slowly. You should be able to hit at least 1.7

I've been looking around and didnt see a list of popular ROMs that folks are running. My Skyrocket arrives in the morning and will be looking at rooting it and loading up a ROM pretty soon.
What do you run ? Why ?
What else should be updated or flashed?
thanks

Run tpc's V3 has the best battery life plus use da_g's script rather than using app to oc.
Battery life for me when i had the rom it was50% after 24 hours.
Have to say I like Red Sonja the best. And I have tried them all.
But until its out of beta tpc's is a good one. So is quickwiz.

TPC v3 has been just perfect for me.
Everything is smooth and fast and battery life is amazing.
Definitely would recommend it.
Ice Cream sandwich 2.36 has been good to me. CIQ is installed, but it's inactive.

I found the link in the "all-in-one-location" XDA Skyrocket General Info/Root Method/Kernel/ROM Thread!
Thought you might be interested in that too.
I'm on the Ice Cream Sandwich theme/rom it is great and looks good
I've tried SkyICS, TPC, QuikWiz, SkyRocketeer, and CM7. So far CM7 is my favorite, though it was the biggest pain to set up and YouTube videos don't play back correctly. They're all good, and it's easy to try them, so I'd recommend trying as many as you want.

hey guys! first timer here. I just installed EB ICS 4.0.4 Build 5. Everything is great but it seems that my data speed is far slower than before on the stock 2.3.4. The speedtest results in a lower than 1MBPS, like around 700 and lower. It used to be at least 2 MB. Is this an issue with anyone else? Also, what information do you need from me?

EB ICS rom has many issues! Maybe this is just one of them....
I was afraid of that! Also my phone still freezes to where I have to remove the battery in order to get it to work.

If there is any interest, I could try to work on making one. KitKat is made to run on devices with at least half a gig of RAM, and that's what the D2G has, so it should be a really smooth ROM.

i'd be interested in this. but it would be hard to port and bad battery life like the other 4.0+ roms.
My D2G just broke I would have loved to try out 4.4 before it crapped out.

I've looked into this myself a while ago and it appears that the only limitation is the kernel, and having to forward port all the omap3 hardware hals from gb/ics.
From google's website:
OEMs building the next generation of Android devices can take advantage of targeted recommendations and options to run Android 4.4 efficiently, even on low-memory devices. Dalvik JIT code cache tuning, kernel samepage merging (KSM), swap to zRAM, and other optimizations help manage memory

It appears that Google utilizes KSM and zRAM on low memory devices, but we cannot compile these drivers because of locked kernel. Not sure why no one has ported 2ndboot yet from milestone2 or defy.. because that would greatly enhance our device's performance.
That's my 2c on it.
thx for reply me...

Hi,
Like original poster, I'm 100% total stock.
You should be a lot better than 50k!!!!!!!
Ken
I'm getting around 50k as well. Completely stock on mm.
My modified stock rom, and VadimTK kernel. Only change to kernel is sdcard read ahead set to noop and 2048.
These articles seemed to only get around 50k. You guys who are getting 70k seem to be the exception.
https://www.androidpit.com/motorola-moto-x-style-review
http://m.gsmarena.com/moto_x_style_pure_edition-review-1308p5.php
Both of those are with Antutu 5, while our tests are with Antutu 6. 20,000 points is a large difference. Only time I got a 50k result was when I had the cpu's set to performance instead of the stock interactive.
Managed a 72k without a clean boot or clearing background processes...

Reran the test only this time I turned off force gpu rendering and my score increased from 53k to 66k. I had initially turned it on hoping to improve the lagginess I was experiencing.

Completely stock other than systemless root and xposed

I just clean flashed a new nightly, will test again shortly.
This is after 1/6 nightly
