Hi!
Question:
My PC can't detect the storage of my R800i when using the extreme kernel R3 for 2.3ghz overclock.
(It works with lupus.)
On the extreme kernel tread there is a wifi module to install from the recovery
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2377507
Is there some sort of USB module as well that is obvious to all or that I missed?

Ok ,once you have decided to install Android operating system(AOS) on your pc u'll need to..... oh wait! u must be wondering why did i create this thread since an android emulator already exists. This is why
1) This is not an emulator but a full fledged OS that can be installed along windows/linux
2) it's optimized for x86(32 bit Intel and AMD) processors so is a lot less laggy than the emu
3) it supports wifi, camera and u can install apps which you can't do on the emulator
Caution-
This build is primarily for laptops/netbooks and may not fully work on your desktop( there's no harm in trying though)
Depending on your version and Hardware, not everything may work properly
I'm not responsible for anything you do! (though i seriously doubt that it can do any harm but always exercise caution)
Once you are satisfied, lets begin
Requirements-
A USB pendrive with at least 256 mb free scpace
Internet connection
Common Sense
Downloading the tools-
1)First go to this site- http://www.android-x86.org/download and download the required image(choose which version and the model of ur laptop)
2) Visit this link - http://unetbootin.sourceforge.net/ and download Unetbootin for your OS(the one you are currently running)
Setting up the bootable image
1) Plug in your pendrive and run Unetbootin.
2) Select the "diskimage" radio button and load the ISO file
3) Set type to "USB Drive" and select ur pendrive from the drop down menu
4) Click OK and your pendrive is ready to be booted from
Booting up AOS
1) turn off your computer and plug in your pendrive
2) you need to change the boot sequence in the PC's BIOS. to do this keep pressing 'Delete" button or F12(depending on your motherboard, generally a line of text indicates the button to be pressed) on the boot/Splash screen and select external/usb as your first boot device
3) Once done, the AOS installation menu should come up, select the first option to try it without installing anything to your Hard disk.
4)If you want to install it to your Hard disk you might havta repartition ur HD to avoid windows being overwritten(i recommend not doing so but if you want to proceed, use the free software EASUS Partition Manager)
5) Bingo!! You should be running AOS on your PC now
Thank You
Thanks for starting this wonderful thread. I installed android on my netbook beside windows xp and it works great. it lets me choose which operating system i want to work with. i downloaded android-x86-4.2-20130228.iso from that website cuz i didn't know to use which one. i also created an ntfs partition for installing android. it perefectly recognizes my wireless and camera now. nothing is better than this. i'm happy with my netbook now.
thanks man....its working and its awesome!!!

Sd Card Dual boot?
As you can see, Im new here... Does this require a partition to install, or can you boot straight form usb? My other question is can you do this the same from an sd card? Thanks in advance... Sorry if its a dumb question.

i have created partition using MiniTool Partition Wizard Pro Edition but after that my pc was lost boot. it set the c drive inactive. i used windows cd to start again. unetbootin-windows-608 didn't work for me. i used Win32DiskImager-0.9.5 which has option to choose operating system android. after that it worked but i have got one more problem. i have installed the android into newly created partition and installation was completed successfully but again i lost boot. again i used windows cd to solve boot issue to make c drive active. after that i have directly run the android without installing. it worked and run very smoothly but it was not showing my hard disk even giving root access to file manager. so finally i have decided to go virtual box. now downloading virtual box but i want to boot android from menu because i have windows, linux in boot menu now i want android also.
FYI i was using desktop and i have photon plus wireless modem. which is detecting on ppp widget but not connecting because of operating system. it was android 4.4.2 cynogenmod(rooted) and cynogenmod wont detect the internal sd and ppp widget can establish a connection without having it files in internal storage. so my advice is choose your android carefully and you can even establish internet connection from your mobile using ppp widget. there is an way to make your internal sd get detected by using terminal emulator.
my pc details 1.6ghz amd processor,1gb ram having windows xp and puppy linux
virutual box didn't helped me. it was showing error. again i tried to boot android x86 using Universal-USB-Installer-1.9.5.5 and format the partition into fat 32 and installed grub for windows. this time worked booted into android
to install whatsapp use older version of whatsapp open it and it will ask u for downloading new version then download new version replace the app and your whatsapp will work. we chat and line are not working.
for games search for games for android x86
angry birds star wars, stella are working. ppsspp gold emulator is working. mx player and vlc are not working

Hello,
I`m kind of new, actually doing this for the first time. I do not want to flash another region`s firmware on my mob, but it might lead to certain issues like WiFi might break. My question is,
How do I know what drivers I need for my WiFi ??
Will it prompt after rooting (specifying this driver needed) or do I need to find that by some other method ??
I looked up Google typing Samsung S4 Mini WiFi driver, but could not find a single related result.
Hi! I was wondering if it was possible (it probably is) to merge ralink drivers into some i9300 kernel to make an eventual USB external Wifi adapter. More in detail, the modules i think would be mostly useful are the RT2080 ones, even i need specifically the rt3070 one. I saw that this was already done on Nexus7 devices, and wanted to ask if some dev could do this or some tips on how to do it by myself. Thank you

EDIT 22/03
So i found out the xda-dev app Module Loader. Injected rt3070sta.ko module and successfully mounted my Zyxel NWD2105 Wifi dongle. But it seems phone doesnt care. I m on Slimkat 4.4 v3.8 on i9300. The question is: how do i now become able to use the dongle?

You must boot from a linux distrubiton such as backtrack. But there is no native way that i know for doing that. Although there is one solution that you run linux background and connect to it by vnc viewer. Take a look at this

I built a few kernels for 4.3 and 4.4 with these modules, but the problem is once I built the kernel I lost the ability to mount the ext4 SD to be available within android. Only adb can see it.
What do you see in lsusb, or dmesg when you plug it in?
simply nothing. my rt3070 device is not even recognized by phone (i9300 with 4.4.4 Slimkat) after inserting specific .ko modules
hi,
I am using MBP (Mac book pro) and my shield tablet, I used to be able to access all it's data and SD card data via Android File Transfer but now after I installed new kernels and custom roms (like bliss 3.9) I can't access it anymore, my computer doesn't reconize it..... it drives me crazy
The problem is that I don't remember when was the last time it worked so I don't know what may have caused this...
Here are my details:
Bliss version 3.9
Kernel version: 3.10.33-TeamBliss-g48f7329-dirty
if anyone has an idea how to fix this, or what can be the problem I would love your help.
thank you!
Check KSX kernel thread. You need to flash a dtb file in order to get USB working again.

Hello,
I have the 1.10 model of the TL-WN722N plugged in with a standard OTG adapter and it doesn't work.!
I installed Nethunter via the TWRP method by installing the image file in recovery mode, after unlocking the OEM via windows with adb.
I have version 6.0.1 of Android on Nexus 5 and I connect the key with a standard OTG adapter.
Currently I have done a lot of research and I can't figure out how to fix the problem.
I also try to install applications that manage and enable the OTG.
Here are screenshots of the commands I tried and with the version of my Android.
sorry i can't put an external link
The biggest problem is that the modules do not install, I have already tested some kernel and none install the modules so we get the problem cited above.
sorry i can't put an external link
I have spent whole days looking for a solution, looking at forum pages and I don't understand.
I managed to understand that there is a bone for the phone + the kernel and the full kali pack (tell me if I'm wrong).
But I don't know why the modules don't want to install.
The phone works very well in OTG.
I tested with several OTG cables and it works perfectly with a USB key.
I'm on Nexus 5 with original android 6.0.1 in marshmallow and I'm trying to connect a TL-WN722N 1.10 to the phone.
In short I hope you can help me because I am surpassing, I am completely neophyte but that fascinates me.
Sorry for the translation, I'm French.
Here is the name to my gitlab issue:
"Problem with my TL-WN722N V 1.10 on Nexus 5 6.0.1 plugged with OTG"
I tested the kernel that I was offered and it doesn't work.
Especially since I can't understand in what order I should install each file and if I should "reboot" between each "install".
Thank you for taking the time to read this block and I hope you can help me.
If any info is missing, tell me.
Thank you

You didn't mean the whole time the 6.1 factory image, or did you?
It was to 90 % over the thread of Lineage the talk.
Anyhow, anything which you got linked by the fellow user and me, were apart from the official image from Offensive's site, solely for Lineage meant.
Before I forget, here the newly build chroot, with all the new apps, wallpaper, boot animation from the nightlys:
https://mega.nz/#!9MZ3nAKJ!oQFguK9vltGN5TNjxcfZmQvM2xg3_EzNWTz5roBN-Hk
What do you not understand about the flash procedure in particular?
PS
As re4son wrote does the hammerhead kernel not install any modules.
I don't know what you flashed before though.
What did happen with Lineage+Opengapps+root+installer+kernel(or together, as my previous upload..?
I haven't the best experiences with Lineage, but it depends.
May I ask if you had time to take a look from the rom I linked you at the beginning?
It's the most reliable, although a bit outdated rom named NetHunter OS.

A miracle happened there and installing nethunteros-nethunter-hammerhead-cm-14.1-hammerhead and then kalifs-armhf-full.tar.xz for the chroot and it works well.
The only problem is that when I try to install packages:
E: unable to locate kali-linux nethunter package
E: unable to locate kali-linux package
E: unable to locate kali linux-all package
But other than that, everything works.
Victory.
Thank you all for your patience and your advice.

No need to thank me.. I am glad, that you were able to get it to work finally, after that number of failed attempts..
I went with the NetHunterOS rom version, which I linked you in gitlab
https://build.nethunter.com/nethunt.../LOS-hammerhead-14.1-20170102-nethunteros.zip
SuperSU has already been integrated in this variation as well.
After you flash the obligatory OpenGapps version for the same Android version and architecture 7.1 [arm], you are basically good to go.
I prefer the package size 'pico' - but this goes after your personal liking.
In my experiences is it better to use the "older" kalifs filesizes and not the newer ones with ~ 1,3 GB -- it seems to break somehow the rom/kernel if you use the newer ones
https://build.nethunter.com/kalifs/kalifs-20171118/kalifs-armhf-full.tar.xz
I don't know if you can use the internal wifi chipset, as well as a external adapter for wireless pentesting with the version wich you choose, but this is possible with the one I linked yesterday and again above.
A problem is that
(sudo) apt-get (dist-)upgrade

and seemingly further package upgrades are breaking the rom.
Although theoretically should you be able to install stuff.
Did you try it over the terminal, or just the NetHunter.apk?
Best regards l
Thank you.
I use an external wifi antenna, the TL-WN722N v 1.10 in USB OTG.
I tried to install metapackages via nethunter.apk
Nethunter cannot detect a HID interface.
Duckhunter HID does not work.
Thank you

Yeah, I just meant with the mentioned rom/setup, are you able to use the internal Wifi chipset (Broadcom4339) in monitor mode and could forgo the external adapter.
HID should work as well.
No, I cannot use the internal wifi card in monitor mode or the HID device.
I don't understand why?
Thank you
