I've had my old trusty N5 since launch day and its been just fine since then. Last night was just another average night, went home from work, plugged it in to charge and sent to bed. I wake up the next morning and as I was laying down using it I heard clicking. I then open up my Snapchat to check one and I switch to the front camera and the image is very very blurry and its "moving" almost and the clicking is violently happening from the back camera. I look over at the lens and notice its moving around a lot making this clicking sound. I have no idea what to make of this and it also clicks when I turn my flashlight on. It worked just fine last night as I said.
Anyone else experience this?
TLDR: when using the back camera any way at all, the lens shakes, bounces and moves all around, causing pictures to always be blurry/not focused/half focused and it looks like I'm shaking my camers around and it makes beeping sounds trying to focus. Happened after I went asleep last night.
I'm having the same issue with my Nexus 5. I'm beginning to think that Snapchat causes this but if anyone has a solution please let us know

So I used my TF last night, put it in the dock this morning and brought it to work. Pull it out and it won't turn on. I think crap - finally got the dreaded sleep of death. However, mine won't turn on at all. Further, if I hold the power button down for about 9 seconds, there is a distinct and repeatable staticky/crackling sound coming from the webcam area. Thoughts?
Ouch, I have only had the sodding SoD error, but never sounds like that. It almost sounds like electrical shorts if something is crackling like that.
Well, fortunately American TV is going to let me return this at 7 days (5 day return policy - seriously?). I think I'm going to sit on the sidelines about tablets moving forward. Absolutely loved this while it worked, but unfortunately not shocked at all when it didn't today. Cheers to you who have stronger early adopter stomachs than me.
From what I have read, a lot of people have had the crackling/popping issue when the device powers on, and it seems to be the camera auto focusing, or turning on, or something of that nature.
Randomly, when I use the Camera app and take a picture with the phone, the flash goes on, and then the phone reboots.
Does anyone know why this is happening? Sometimes I can take pictures and video with no problem, and other times it crashes without fail. It's like when the flash goes off, something in the phone gets overloaded and it dies.
Anyone have any idea whats going on?

It happpened me on my first day with the Sensation. At that time the battery was at low levels (<20%). I tried the camera in the morning after an overnite recharge (so at healthy battery level) and there was no crash. In fact last morning I took about 20 pics without any issues! So it might be some kind of protective mechanism at low levels. There are similar threads on other mobiles as well - Saw one for Google Nexus S!
By the way, the camera is really good. The pics turned out quite well.
Me and my wife are also having this same problem. Not sure what is causing it.
I bought the phone yesterday, and it seems that it is resseting itself every 1,5 to 2 minutes and that without even doing anything with it. I have sent (almost) all the reports to HTC, but not sure what would the issue be. I haven't even tried to use camera...
Weirdly my issues have stopped for now. I thought to myself, while troubleshooting this, is "What other app uses the camera?"
I think what the problem was is that I had a program called Visidon AppLock which uses the front facing camera to visually recognize your face (acts like a security measure basically) and an app called Mobile Hidden Camera, you can probably guess what that's used for
After disabling both these programs, and giving the phone a reboot, it seems to have fixed the problem.
The button is so freaking sensitive. Camera took 186 pictures of my ceiling last night while I was sleeping because the pillow on the seat barley touched it. Last night I put my feet on the table and from the vibrations the camera turned on and took pictures. One point it came on and I switched to video camera to see what it's doing, and with out pressing the button the video camera would start and stop recording. I got the phone yesterday :-( I put on the pattern lock to stop it somehow but the screen still turns on and I know from my G2 that it will kill the battery no matter what you do on Android. Any help?

Interesting...I haven't had this issue with the camera button.
Sent from my HTC Doubleshot using xda premium
oright cool, thanks guys. Thought it was the whole "phone built around the camera" concept that they thought it was a good idea to be able to take picture quickly. Thanks guys.
Yeah, there's definitely something wrong with your phone.
One of the MyTouch 4Gs issues is one of it's features..
you can activate the camera, even with the screen locked by holding down the shutter button. Sure it's good for those quick shots, but it's giving you an issue.
However to have a button that sensitive is not normal, please return it and get yourself one that works.
OP, just to be clear, which button are you referring to when you say, the camera button?Do you mean the silver one on the bottom right side of the phone?
Yeah I hardly touched it and it would start the camera. I'm back to using my G2 till T-Mo loyalty sends me another new one. Thanks for the help guys.
hi guys , i noticed theres wavy lines across the camera viewfinder upon starting the camera app. but they only appear for one or two seconds tops (when the camera does its first autofocus) and then disappears.
am i just being paranoid?

Are you under bright or indoor lighting conditions when it happens? How long does it happen for? Usually that sort of thing is affected by bright indoor light sources etc.

yes im indoors. there's a ceiling light (the long tube one idk what it's called) above me. my room is dark on one side and bright on the other because i only switched on one of the lights.
another case is when im at a shop. the shop was brightly lit and the lines appear too..
it happens when the camera does its first autofocus. probably 1second more or less
I had this happen to me a couple of times in the past week. Each time, I woke my phone up and double-tapped the home button to launch the camera and saw the whole picture jiggling around like a funhouse mirror. I would then exit the camera and go back in and it was fine. I don't know if it was from launching too quickly, or what, but it scared the crap out of me. I was outdoors in bright light each time it happened.
This happened to me a couple more times yesterday. In both cases, I hurriedly woke the phone up and launched the camera. In both cases, the camera was fuzzy/shaky, and the phone actually made a strange white-noise sort of sound.

My phone restart at least 2-3 times per day, every day, since the day i got it.
i'ts not even the same thing i do when it restart. sometime i just open my phone and it restart.
I have spoken with my provider, and they won't do anything until they see it restart when i'm at their shop... but you know, i can't stand in their shop all day long!
i don't think it's the same problem as you, but some of P30 really have a restart issue!
Also my P30 since when I updated to EMUI .124 restart 2-3 times a day. It also sistematically freeze during Antutu stress test (maybe it help you to show to your provider).
I just send mine to be replaced, but I'm worried that also if they replace mine nothing change...
Been using almost 2 weeks on 124. So far no reboots and just ran antutu stress test successfully.
No issues in that regard to my UK purchased device. It's been solid as a rock so far with amazing battery life also.
Maybe there is a lot of p30 with this kind of issue. Let's see how will go the new p30 that huawei will send to me as a replacement.
No problems on my end, except for a blue tint on the recents window. Using a third party launcher. Removing/ disabling Huawei Launcher gives you an older (and in my opinion uglier but better) recents screen back without that issue. Everything works fine so far but they really need to tone down their bloatware. That's the main reason why i dislike Samsung and Huawei.
only one light flashes. only the right thing works for you, how is it?
Fingerprint sensor. Works slow and flashes frequently, Mine got stuck two days ago and even after couple of reboots was still not recognizing anything. Then started working again...

Let us know if it works after replace.. I'm worried that there is a sw incompatibility with something I installed and that nothing change when I will have the new p30. It can happen that one phone have issue, but I already heard 4 case with the same issue!
On Monday I went to the beach with my family, took the phone out to take some snaps of the scenery and the with 3 x zoom, lens had the sun directly on it and the screen started to flash but only when sun was directly on the lens, doesn't sound right to me so am thinking of getting it exchanged. Anyone else had this issue?
I sent my p30 to huawei assistance and they returned back my device with issue not solved. Phone still freeze sporadically.
Hello everyone, i have a strange bug om my p30, i bought my phone a week ago and i'm sure video recording was fine at the beginning, then i applied .124 update and now when i try to record videos it just stop after 1 second, no matter what resolution or format i choose, it happens with back and front camera. I already wipe cache and data of the camera app, but no luck. Videos works fine with other camera apps like open camera etc.. . I spent a week for fine tuning my new phone , so i don't want to reset all. Someone have any other suggestion? Thanks

Did the whole screen flash or just the picture preview? This doesn't sound abnormal to me. The little pixels of the little sensor fill with light super quickly, so of course pointing it directly at the sun will make them overflow with photons and just return a mostly white image

Thank you that makes sense now
Talking to Huawei support at the moment to fix the blue tint (and maybe also WhatsApp notification/ bad video playback performance) issue. They told me they'll reach out to me today.

I have the same problem with my P30 switching back on when charging - I've only been able to overcome this by inserting the charging cable first, then powering off. Not sure about your other problem as my display brightness is always set to auto.

Seems like they fixed the flashing bug with the latest update (.153)
I'm still waiting for it (.153), but as I try to find some logic in it's behavior I guess they tried to make it kind of notification light, but it seems to be unsuccessful.
