Auto boot to recovery !!! - Moto G Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

I was upgrading my bootloader using one of the threads in XDA, it worked fine for me. Then I tried to upgrade my android but i was having TWRP recovery so it was a problem. I found a stock recovery on XDA and flashed it. After that i went to recovery mode and now, I can't get back. If i press the power button for 10 secs, it shut downs and boot back into recovery mode(No command window). I tried using the method of holding the Volume Up key and pressing the power button, but all it does is shows "qe 1/1" in the bottom left corner.
Please help !!
Thanks !

can't get into recovery

Hi i just flashed my transformer to this rom
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1514658
and now i can't go into recovery help please
Vol down plus power button and when you see words at top left corner you must push Vol up within 5 second.
Alternative is use the "Transformer boot into recovery" app from market.
Btw what is it doing when you try to get into recovery?
Are you trying to get into recovery by an app, or using the buttons as baseballfanz described?
If you cannot get into recovery using the buttons you may have to reinstall the "RecoveryInstaller.apk" for CWM to get it working again.
I can boot into Clockwork Recovery using the app but actually what is the exact button combinations to boot in to Clockwork Recovery?
Thanks.

Turn off. Hold VOL DOWN and POWER for about 10-12 seconds until small text appears. Tap the VOL UP within 5 seconds of when it says to press VOL UP to enter RCK.

You dont need to tick Erase Recovery.
Press HOME + VOLUME then power.. keep holding them til you see recovery!!
If it doesnt work.. flash recovery again using Rom Manager.
Also try to get into recovery through rom manager if nothing works!!
I'm having the same issue. Just flashed CWM with Rom Manager today. It worked a few times, but now it's not. I cannot select any option on the list. The back and search buttons blank out the screen except for the rom manager logo (also the background) and if I hit them again, the "cursor" has moved up or down, depending. If I press the power button, it also blanks out the screen except for the logo, but when I press it again, the cursor goes back to the top. The only button that doesn't make it blank out is volume down. Home and Menu buttons do nothing.
Also, doesn't matter if I load recovery manually or through RM.
UPDATE: Managed to get it stuck on the RM Logo. Nothing does anything.
UPDATE: Flashed VM670 Recovery with FlashImageGUI and am getting similar results. Now both volume keys allow for selecting, home and menu allow for selecting with the cleared screen, and power, back, and search do nothing but move the cursor to the top. If I hold the power button, though, the screen flashes and the cursor doesn't move.
I had same problem on my vm670 try using camera button to select . Worked for me

Don't forget that the camera button is a 2-step button. You have to press it all the way in for it to register in CWM. Also, I'm running CWM 3.2.0.1 and the Volume buttons work for me just fine.
And for the one who couldn't get into recovery, have you tried booting normally, connecting it to your computer, and running this at a command prompt?
adb reboot recovery

The instructions on the Motorola site are wrong.
I was trying to get into recovery and their instructions didn't help.
I think what I did to finally get it was this - pressed and held the Vol Up button for about 10 seconds, then tapped the power button.

At what point do you do this? In the fastboot menu or in the "no command" screen? Somewhere else?
I'm also stuck trying to get into recovery. Any recovery, actually. The only one I can flash with fastboot is Motorola's original recovery.img, and I can't even boot into that. CWM et al. refuse to flash.
At the "no command" screen.

Manually flashed 6.0 stock images, but only get dead android for recovery

I have searched around but cannot find a solution. I can't seem to get a working recovery after flashing stock images with and without TWRP 2.8.7.1.
I followed these steps to upgrade to Android 6.0 after verifying the md5 checksum of my download:
adb reboot bootloader
fastboot flash bootloader bootloader-hammerhead....img [it looks the same as before, but I did it anyway]
reboot bootloader
fastboot flash radio radio-hammerhead....img
reboot bootloader
fastboot flash boot boot.img
fastboot flash recovery recovery.img
fastboot flash system system.img
....I have also tried with and without flashing cache
fastboot reboot
...then I go back into the bootloader and try to access recovery, but I only get the dead android with the red triangle.
Is anyone else having this problem? Does anyone have a suggestion for a fix?
I'm having the same problem with my Nexus 7 (2013).
Hold down the Power button and press Volume Up.

When I see the dead android? When the phone is off? When the phone is booted into the system?
The dead Android means you have stock recovery installed. When you see the dead Android, hold down the power button and push the volume up then release and you will receive the stock recovery menu

Thanks for the description, but it didn't work. If I hold those buttons long enough, it just loops on the "Google" screen, and if I let go, it boots into the system.
After flashing other times, I have been able to either get the recovery menu or enter TWRP when I choose Recovery from the bootloader menu. Not this time though.
Well, I re-extracted the recovery.img file and flashed it - same problem. I decided to try flashing TWRP again. After flashing I rebooted the bootloader (probably not necessary), then chose Recovery and it booted TWRP like I normally expect.
Still not sure what is happening with the stock recovery. For now I don't have to worry - I'm getting my backup.
Sometimes it doesn't work right away, I keep switching between the volume buttons and it eventually pops up. Only need to tap the volume key, no need to hold it when at the dead Android.
Good luck

Getting into stock recovery from the dead android can be very tricky. As stated above, from the dead android screen, you want to hold the Power Button and press Volume Up quickly, then release. It sounds like you are holding the Power Button way too long which is causing it to do a reboot. I had the same issue the first few times.
Below is a video of someone doing it. On the video, he says to press volume up, volume down, and the power button at the same time until the recovery menu works. But, it is just the power button and volume up. The video will just show you how quickly to press the button combination.

I don't recall having any difficulty in the past, but I think I get it now. Thanks for the tips guys.
