Weird Shield Tablet Message: "Invitation to connect from: AP_SSC_NX2000_0-52:48:13"
I got this message while watching some random videos on youtube. I kept hitting decline but it keeps popping up again. After turn off and on, the message is gone but it could appear again, i guess.
Not sure if related but my tablet is one of those affected by the Y01 battery which i've managed to keep. Does anyone have a clue about this? Picture attached

Probably someone else trying to connect to your device either by bluetooth or by wifi direct. Could be a neighbour or friend?
Or do you have a device that auto scans and tries to connect to passing devices?
Either way it's in your control to ignore and block it.

From the message, An NX2000 Camera you probably own is asking for a connection.
It could also be the NSA but that's not their favorite method...

[Q] Dialer Process

I use my Nexus kinda like a glorified pmp for now (I don't have a sim card), so it runs in airplane mode 24/7 with wifi active. Why would the dialer process be so high when looking at the battery stats?

EDIT: I found something that said it could be the "turn to silence" feature causing runaway Dialer usage. I looked and mine was indeed checked. I turned it off and will see if that changes anything tomorrow.

Where is that turn to silence option located at?
I don't have this issue, but sounds like a good tip to share when the question inevitably pops up again...

Sorry for the late reply, forgot i started this thread.
It's in Call Settings. Look for "Turn over silence" under Advanced Settings. For what it's worth, it didn't solve my issue. Dialer is still sitting around 17%
Bump.... Any help?

can't tether - please help indentify the problem

Hi all,
Im having problems with tethering with my sensation and it is frustrating me. I've tried it with 2 laptops and also with my desktop and still no success. The wireless devices do recognize the phone with no issue and showing me full reception, but yet i cant browse and it seems something is blocking it.. is it something that has to do with the phone or is it that my cell provider blocking it?
here is a picture to demonstrate the problem. As you can see, the phone is identified with full reception and telling me it is connected, but theres the yellow mark which indicate a problem and it says "no internet access" although i am connected.
It is like that with every device i try to tether

P.S
If it matters, then im using the Eleganicia sense 4 rom although this problem also happened with sense 3.6 roms as well
shame there are no replies as i'm having the same problem. it also happens with bluetooth tethering. All connects/pairs fine but no internet. I have mainly been trying to use this with my Nexus 7 for when i'm out and about. If it helps, i'm with Orange UK.
Any help would be appreciated!
Hi,
In order to set up tethering,I went to settings/more/tethering & portable hotspot/portable WiFi hotspot settings/ and then set my password and SSID
Turn on hotspot and mobile data, find my device, connected using the password, and everything worked.
Not sure if you missed any of those steps.

Recurrent Sign-in Error

Hey,
Does anyone keep getting Google sign-in errors on their Razr HD? It started a couple of weeks back, and now a few times every day, this pops up. Mainly when using Chrome, I think.
Any ideas what the cause could be?

can't see your screenshot, so don't know what your actual error is but I have never had any issues with google services.
Are you on stock firmware or custom i.e. CM, Slim etc..?

Hey,
I'll give it a go, but my icons aren't white as you can see in the screenshot. I am not actually losing connection to servers, just keep getting that stupid error message
Cheers,
Su
I'm getting that same exact error whenever I use Chrome. Hope someone can offer a solution to this. Not really a huge problem, but it is very annoying.
Jigz, are you on Chrome Beta by any chance? Perhaps that's the problem?
try to sign in another google account then switch back to the previous account this might help

WhatsApp web not working well on Honor 6+

WhatsApp should not need the phone screen to be on, in order to use it, like other phones I've tried. But the Honor 6+ does.
e.g. I'll try to send a message using the web interface. The message will sit there until I turn on the phone.
Maybe this is EMUI's overly aggressive power management, but I cannot find the right setting to allow WhatsApp to work OK when the screen is off.
Any ideas?

I second this. I often have to open Whatsapp on the phone before my PC connects. Also it forgets my contacts and even wont show new messages as push notification from time to time.
Is there a way to stop EMUI from closing my apps?
I've found a solution, to this and other problems I think.
Download PM Plus from the store, and make WhatsApp a trusted application.. from then on the web version will work just fine.

How to see the devices that are connected to my hotspot in Android device?

So, I've been looking all over the internet for 2 years (approx.) from time to time for this query.
My device: I have a Motorola X(4) device which came with near stock Android.
My question: how can I see who is connected to my hotspot.
What have I tried so far: I see apps in playstore for scanning Wi-Fi and not what I want (which is to see devices connected to hotspot). I've search for web with no helpful answer, everyone seems to confuse about Wi-Fi scanner. I don't want a Wi-Fi scanner
In few answers I see people showing steps to do this, but I don't see the last option 'View Who is Connected' in my device. I have attached screenshots for reference.

Hi there,
Although motorola is close to stock Android, they have the annoying manner of removing very little, yet useful features like that. You're supposed to have a menu to see what device are connected, like me (I'm using OxygenOS, and even with their "overlay" they left the feature).
Unfortunately I don't know how to help you on this one. When I had a motorola (Moto E 2015 LTE) it didn't have the "enable wireless display" option for screen casting m. I've search a long time, and finally found out about that annoying manner motorola has. The solution was to modify one or two line in the build.prop file.
Hope you'll find out one day
