I use my Nexus kinda like a glorified pmp for now (I don't have a sim card), so it runs in airplane mode 24/7 with wifi active. Why would the dialer process be so high when looking at the battery stats?

EDIT: I found something that said it could be the "turn to silence" feature causing runaway Dialer usage. I looked and mine was indeed checked. I turned it off and will see if that changes anything tomorrow.

Where is that turn to silence option located at?
I don't have this issue, but sounds like a good tip to share when the question inevitably pops up again...

Sorry for the late reply, forgot i started this thread.
It's in Call Settings. Look for "Turn over silence" under Advanced Settings. For what it's worth, it didn't solve my issue. Dialer is still sitting around 17%
Bump.... Any help?
Any interest in combining threads?

Just started using this ROM a couple days ago. Loving it so far. One Issue I've found though. Every time I get a text message, I get two notifications. One that pops down from the status bar that I can respond in (very cool feature I might add), and another that is static in the notifications list. The icon for the second one is a black envelope. In the screenshot it is the last notification (normally it also shows the phone number of whomever sent me the message, but I've taken that out of the shot). I do not have any other messaging apps installed. Ideas?

Go to settings > mms settings and try playing around with the notification toggles.
Looks like you have pop-up enabled.
Also, for future reference, you might try hitting up this thread specifically for MIUI. You'd probably get more help there than making a new thread.

I posted in a thread specifically about issues with the rom, and got nothing. That's why I tried my luck here.
I'll look through the settings and see what happens. Thanks for the input!

Not sure which thread you posted in, but the thread I posted is pretty active, so people are usually pretty helpful.
Anyways, good luck.

Hello guys!
The Screen On application was a success and we thought it could be a great idea to expand the abilities of this application. We developed a new application called App Auto Settings, that works exactly as the Screen On application but let's you take control not only of the screen, but of WiFi, Bluetooth, Mobile Data, GPS and volume!
We have tested the app in as many devices as we could and it works fine, but please try it and report any bugs, suggestions or ideas, we cannot test it in all those mobile phones...
AppAutoSettings @ Android Market
Thx for share.
Not seeing option for GPS on SGSII.
Sent from my GT-I9100 using Tapatalk
Edit: 20/11/2011
So is this a beta limitation? or a limitation of GB where programs can not call for GPS on without user request like Tasker?
well, that's my bad...
at first, we wanted to take control of the GPS, but unfortunately for security reasons (good in my opinion), Google decided that only the user will be able to enable and disable the GPS, so we removed it from the application.
The screenshot though is old, and I will replace it!
Thank you for noticing it!
OK, I'm confused. No offense, but it is not very intuitive. I just downloaded it, and I cannot tell the difference between Red and Green on the Screen Timeout in the On Charge profile, and either way I set it, the screen timed out! Also, on WiFi and such, what's the difference between Red, Green and the white box? I also don't see my Navigation app.

I think I'm dumb, but usually this option is under "Display", but I don't see to see it. Anyone know where the option rotate screen is at?
Sorry if this is the wrong place to post this thread -_-

top right. Landscape or portrait
The options I have in this drop down are. Brightness adjust (slider) wifi, bluetooth, LTE, Airplane mode, flashlight, location, case screen. Dat ****?
For me it is under Display. It is called "When device is rotated" and has two options: Rotate the contents of the screen and Stay in portrait view. Using this once will add the notification shortcut.
Don't have that option either under display.

Lol, odd.

So coming from the Note 4, the alarm had a setting called smart alarm which would gradually start waking you up before the actual alarm went off.
Really neat feature which was removed on the Note 5. Unless I haven't seen it.
Does anyone know of any alternative apps. I've tried a couple different ones, but don't have that feature either.
Thx

Yeah, that feature they have is similar, except it only goes on increments of 30 mins. Wish I could change that to 3-5mins.
Either way, thanks for the 411
Guys,
Any idea why Caller ID and Spam Protection option automatically gets OFF, Mostly upon Reboot?
It's in Settings/Advanced Settings/ --
I have it enabled on ROM by using the below code on OMC/XSG/cscfeature.xml
Code:
<CscFeature_Common_ConfigSvcProviderForUnknownNumber>whitepages,whitepages,whitepages</CscFeature_Common_ConfigSvcProviderForUnknownNumber>
This used to work quite well on the S7 and Note 7, and no issue with switching off on reboot. Just on the S8 I'm facing this issue.
Any help is much appreciated!

Having the exact same issue with my S8+ in Canada. Has anybody been able to find a solution to this problem?
Thanks.

Offhand i don't have a solution.
However, i can say it's not supposed
to be like that.
My phone is not rooted.
Stock Rom.
No issues with Caller Id button and Spam Protection, sticking /staying on.
(After reboot or not,)
I can toggle it, just fine.
See screenshot.
Don't know if Service Provider
has to support this function, to work.?
or did you maybe disable
"some" setting on phone
and have a knock on affect.
or was the relevant setting "broken /corrupted"
by some other 3rd party app.
If none of above, consider a factory reset.?
It will save you a lot of frustration /trouble.
i'm also had this issue in j7 pro
