So I just got sent a replacement device and have not modified it(rooted) yet. I was curious if there is any way to get Samsung pay working on this device.
Let me know if anyone knows before I trip Knox, please

Just wanting to know if anyone has sold a new phone you got a subsidized price on. I currently have a S4 and want to sell it, will ATT give me a problem when I add another device to my account that is not a S4? Thanks!
This forum has some questions and answers related to your question: slickdeals.net/f/3732040-verizon-phone-upgrade-can-i-sell-the-subsidized-phone-for-a-profit
Still not clear, but thank you. I will be making a profit from the sale of the phone. I'm worried that when I purchase a new phone, and activate it with ATT I will be flagged since its not the phone I originally purchased. Anyone with anymore insight care to chime in?
I dont think it should be a problem just tell them you bought another phone to use whe you go abroad. As long as you still pay your bill should be fine

This. And never give out your IMEI number ever, so they now have your phone number and IMEI, whats to stop them stealing it, or having it blocked on CHECKMEND and holding you to ransom?
I retract my previous statement. Tired and running my keyboard. After further investigation this looks alright, thanks OP.
My Intl Note 3 imei doesnt work :/
Yes it worked fine for me. Already used some of the money.

Just pulled the trigger, got the $50 within a minute.
Other thread about it here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2534678
according to a link in that thread it was verified by samsung support via facebook, so good enough for me.
Didn't work, would not accept the IMEI of my Note3 bought from Singapore.

Fine print states its for US/DC residents only, so my assumption is it needs to be a US N3 IMEI number.
Is there something similar for UK?
Worked for me. Bought 10 in stuff already

Worked for me as well. Was hesitant about submitting my IMEI, but the site checked out, and I got my redemption code in less than a minute. Just redeemed the code - it's legit. Thanks, OP, great find for those of us in the United States (sorry, it's US-only!) who have a Galaxy Note 3.
For US only f**k
Worked for me!
Thanks!

Thank you Samsung, i have paid for the most expensive Galaxy Note 3 in the whole world (US$ 1.300,00 in Brazil) and this is the treatment i have.
I will never buy a Samsung product again.
So my friend sent in her s4 for repairs and Samsung sent her a galaxy nexus. She dropped it this morning and the screen cracked. Since its a temporary phone, what is the procedure for this? Does anyone have any experience

You might get some answers in a Samsung forum. Hopefully their insurance will cover it.

For starters, that girl needs to keep a case on all her phones if she's just breaking them left and right. lol. But the insurance thing is something I doubt anyone here will be able to answer. She needs to talk with Samsung

I think their expectation is going to be that they get the temporary phone back in the same condition as it was when they sent it. So your friend is going to be liable for some damages.

You can't really say that without knowing the conditions she probably signed when getting the phone. Samsung might as well have insurance covering such cases.

I worked in wireless for 3 years. I can tell you that she will have to pay for the damages. That's why most companies don't do loaners anymore. When she got the temporary, she agreed to return the phone is the same condition as received.

Would Samsung care if she replaces the screen? I'm guessing that's cheaper than whatever Samsung would charge
Sent from my Nexus 5 using xda app-developers app
The screen has a digitizer that would take not only technical know how to replace, but is very pricey. It's your call though. Might cost you more in the end if you try and fail at doing it.

DO NOT ACCEPT OTA UPDATES!
if you like to hack and mod that is. If ralekdev and other devs find an exploit for boot loader unlock chances are it will be in the release firmware. Remember Loki on the S4. How many of you still have that?

Sold that MDK S4 just last week for $400.. Makes a device valuable at Swappa
Edit: to be clear, having firmware that is unlockable is valuable.

All the firmware has been rootable for S4......MDK was special because loki worked on it for bootloader bypass.

I wish I could be done with VZW. Wish wish wish.. I just need the the coverage. I'm so tired of them. The only time I have to deal with them is when I have exchange a defected device.. Which happens every time I buy one but it's enough. I pay $90 a month for unlimited data/txt and 450 minutes. So I'm happy about that. Oh yeah, I deal with them when I want control of my device. They don't want me (or anyone) to have it.

The exploit is actually kinda 'old' however doesn't the OTA just happen anyways? So unless you're paying attention to your phone it will just download

The only update I've ever dealt with was last year with my S4 when it upgraded from the MDK baseband. I don't remember the original one, but I remember I lucked out big time and when I ruined my phone and got a new one when I turned it on it basically almost immediately did an OTA to which I put in airplane mode to stop. Now I'm not 100% sure but I don't remember having to click yes or OK for that OTA

But if people have already accepted OTA before now, they are OK, right? Because this exploit is very new so I doubt it would've been fixed before that. The first fix I see for linux was on June 4th and I have no idea how that translates to phone OTAs

Most likely you are correct. The OTA they have been pushing is older so it's likely that the exploit will still work. I wouldn't accept any at all however if you can avoid it. I'd imagine they'll push the patch for this soon.
How do we know if our phones have the update already? I got a new s5 and have had zero Ota pop up since I got it 3 weeks ago.

Because I really don't care about Samsung Pay. I will take the ability to customize my phone how I want it over not having to open my wallet.
