WhatsApp backup dated back to 1970. - ONE Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hi,
I backed up my chats in WhatsApp before flashing a different ROM.
Now that I have installed it again, the WhatsApp chat restore keeps failing with error ""Alert: We were unable to restore any of your messages"
And the backup is dated 11/17/1970 for some reason.
Is there any way to fix this?

Bump

To me this looks like a broken backup, something with the phone's clock problem when wrong when backing up.
1970 is the year when Unix time started which is often used behind the scenes to keep track of time on logs for example. That would explain why that specific date, but not why the issue happened.

This isn't the first time. A month ago, I was on stock ROM and backed up my chats. I couldn't restore back then either. The backup was dated, same, 1970. Fortunately I had Titanium Backup's WhatsApp backup back then. That restored with data just fine. This time I lost my TB backup because of Airdroid and have no means of recovering my messages.
Btw, this time I tried manually adjusting clock of my phone before backing up the chats (no automatic time from carrier). Still no luck when restoring.

Seems to me something is broken on WhatsApp's side, you may want to contact their support of you haven't already.

Hi guys,
I'm facing the same issue and tried out many things, but none of them did work out for me. My database files are from the type crypt7 and WhatsApp dates them to 01/01/1970 I think.
- I renamed the related database file to "msgstore.db.crypt8", cause I think it's the latest database file type.
This actually resulted in WhatsApp showing the right date, but I still had no luck with restoring the backups.- I renamed the related database file to "msgstore.db.crypt".
No difference from trying to restore the original .crypt7 file.- I deleted the related media files and the wallpaper backup, just leaving one database file behind in the database folder.
Doesn't work either.- I even tried to set my phone's date to something close before the 1st of January 1970.
Still no luck with restoring my backup database.
So please, if you find a way to fix this, let us know!
I would be very grateful!

BUMP
This issue keeps me from installing WhatsApp again.
Kinda spleen that I want to restore all my chats and the linked media files. It's so unsorted atm. I don't like that.
Pls help. Does anybody have an advice on how to restore the backups?

Hi,
the protection features of some ROMs can block access to the backup data (storage) and whatsapp doesn't ask for permission. You must give whatsapp that permission upfront.
For Lineage with privacy protection enabled, you need to configure this at two different locations. The privacy protection in the drop down menu and the permission in the app settings.

Sorry to bring this up but this worked for you?
I'm stuck right where you were, but in a different encryption (crypt12), besides that I have all the same symptoms and no support from Whataspp since Im running LineageOS (also tried Ressurection but no luck also..)
Thanks!

Did you check with a file manager that you have a backup under internal storage (/storage/emulated0/WhatsApp/Databases/msgstore_xxx.db.crypt12)?
Does Whatsapp detect the backup, but shows Size: 0bytes?
In this case, https://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=79466457&postcount=9 was the solution for me...

For everyone:
This has worked for me: giving full permissions to Whataspp in "Settings - Privacy" and in "Settings - Applications" worked like a charm, you have to do it BEFORE you start Whatsapp.
Best regards to everyone

This was it!! at least for me, granting Whatsapp access to storage solved the issue on my S10e weird that it wouldn't ask for it when trying to restore the backup but maybe it has to do with LineageOS.

Thank you so much!
So I made an account just to thank you for this wonderful help!

IT WORKED!!
On a Huawei P40, after the problems with Google, I couldn't retrieve the backup from any source (Google Drive, local etc) and it only showed a backup from 1970. Turns out that after installing Whatsapp, it didn't ask for the necessary permissions, so after installing but before logging in the app, you had to go to Settings and give the necessay permissions manually.
You stopped a month long headache!

I know I'm late, but how do I do this on /e/ OS?
I have the same problem, and I hope this solution can work on a fork of Lineage OS

I am trying to get this to work but it seems on Android 11 (S22 Ultra) It wont allow me to give whatsapp full storage it only shows "Allow Access to Media Only"
Really trying to get my local backup to show

Ultimately, I managed with the instructions of this reddit comment.
So today I finally fixed the issue myself Steps: 1)make sure you rename the database as it should be. 2)Install whatsapp 3)Insert your number when asked 4)Use Otp/code 5)Then the app will ask you for google drive permission ,click allow/ok 6)Then the app will ask for contact permission ,simply deny this permission (very important) 7)Then the app will ask for storage permission ,hit allow (very important) 8)Then you will see your local storage behind the popup saying allow google drive and crap You will need to press add account and have your fingers ready for instant tapping between add account and instant tapping restore button ,and out of 10-30 times doing this practice, you will luckily hit restore button, I know this sounds confusing, And I can make a tutorial video if you want ,this works 100% 9)once it is restored ,you will still see app asking google drive option, don't click skip (this will reset the app ,leading to nothing restored) , So when the app is asking to restore from google drive, close the app right away (very important) 10)open the app ,and the app will ask you to set name ,set your name ,and you'll see all your backup
If everything sounds confusing,I am sorry ,I can make video tutorial and very simple tutorial, thanks

Help regarding SWTOR authenticator.

I tried backing up the swtor authenticator via titanium backup before flashing upgrade for rom..
After upgrade and restore of this app it seems the app crashes inside, deleting data is a no go, need this app restored to its fullest..
Any way it might be the secured partition for critical apps like this to be restored?
If so, how would i restore an older backup of that partition to a newer version.
I might add that im running virtuous 1.3.0 and want to upgrade to the 1.4.0.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks for replying!
Well the thing is that the application is bound to my account on swtor.com and the data stored is neccesary for the application to authenticate correctly, as it contains randomly generated login codes for my account.
Reinstalling the application means i have to bind it to the account once again, and thats not possible if you already have, now the tricky part, if you want to deattach an authenticator you need to contact their customer support (EA), and that can take up to 7 days to get any kind of help.
Now i want to take the easy way of just backing up everything neccesary for the application so that i may upgrade roms without being afraid of loosing the account access..
I don't think you will have any choice but to call EA and get them some help, I have tried this with the Google and Blizzard 2 factor auth apps and I have had to redo it every time, normally though you have special codes you can use in cases like this, google will also send you a text as an alternate way of authenticating.

Clearly you haven't worked with Blizzard's version of this concept. They set their app up to allow a special set of codes to be generated just for this purpose, so you could wipe a device, start over, install their app, plug in those codes, and you're golden.
I already went through this nonsense with this app and had to call support to have it removed from my account, at which point they inform you that you will no longer be able to use a security key with your account. This, my friends, is what you call a MAJOR FAIL.
If I had more time to play with it, I would have started searching around on the phone for additional files that might have accompanied the app. I definitely tried the Titanium thing, but to no avail. They have got to be using some sort of key file, like RSA or something, but without knowing the details we won't be able to backup and restore this thing.
My recommendation is this. If you have the time, patience, and ability to search and have an idea of what you are looking for, see if you can solve this problem yourself and share your findings with the community. Otherwise, call support, abandon the app, and give the mental middle-finger to EA for their fail.

Interestingly enough the same company mad both blizzards and swtors security apps. Personally I wish I knew what I am looking for but I have been unable to find any additional file that will make it work.
Some other things to note is I saved the Serial number and Auth. Code that bioware gave me and after I learned that titanium backup would not work I pulled out my galaxy tab 10.1 and installed the app and reused the info to no avail.
Any help with this would be much appreciated! Thanks!
I read multiple threads at swtor.com and at the moment the only possibility is removing the sercurity key via the phone-customer-support.
So, no news on this front.
Does someone have news regarding this problem? Do we still have to call customer support?

For WoW when I had an issue, Flashed a ROM without realising the world of pain I'd entered. I had to go through Customer Support, they even wanted a photo document (driving License or Passport). Eventually it got removed.
After that I ran the authenticator on my older Android phone.
Your best bet is to nandroid restore to the original, de-link the authenticator, then install the new ROM and authenticator. Then re-link the new authenticator codes.
Eventually I gave up and just removed the authenticator from WoW, life is too short already.

That's the problem, with SWTOR's Security Key you CAN NOT add a new "digitial security key" once you've already had one attached. Their current solution is for you to buy a physical key, once they remove the digital one.
Yesterday i switch to another ROM, and when i reinstall SWTOR Security Key, it asked me for a serial number and activation code. I tried to restore app with Titanium Backup and other similar apps with no luck. Then i opened a ticket to swtor support team, and they respond me that i need to call customer support. After a 12 min conversation, and asking at 2 security questions they remove security key from my account.
After that, in my account i still have the option to attach a security key again. But i will attach it only when they will add a option to remove that security key from account manager.

If you flash roms often you should invest in mauth in the market its like 3$ I think but it lets you back up you wow auth. online and restore it to any android device. also I think you can backup the blizzard one with titanium back up and it will still work.

Write that down.
Then, when u get the new phone, you can use the restore feature again, enter in the serial # and restore code, and it will work for your account again.

There is no solution at that link. Read to the end--there is simply no "restore" feature associated with this app, and the current and only way to handle a ROM switch is to call Customer Support and have them remove it from the account...every single time. If there is something to back up, it's probably an encrypted file that cannot simply be restored, especially if the thing truly is secure. That's the whole point of an authenticator--security.
I just ran into this issue. I'm about to have to call Customer Support to remove it. I'm replying to say that after this B.S. I'm going to get the physical key. I was being cheap, but I preferred the physical key for WoW anyway, due to not having to find my phone, hope it wasn't dead, and deal with the constant crashes on the SWTOR android app. So basically, unlink the key, then buy a physical one if you want a security key still.
Removed!
In this link, if you already log-in, you can remove all security keys:

[GUIDE][HOW TO]Edit Earphones Connected

I don't know if others are having this problem, but many of the screen shots I took don't load at first. Try a few refreshes, it should make the how to easier to follow.
So I only recently tried this out. I haven't found any glaring issues with it, but a backup is recommended just in case. No warranty, I'm not responsible if somehow this breaks/bricks your phone, causes your phone to not dial during an emergency, etc.
Also I didn't really proofread this as I don't have a large amount of time available, so sorry for any dumb grammar errors. I'll look it over eventually.
I didn't like the choices that Samsung provided in the Earphones Connected options for the notification drop down. Here is example of the stock:
My original hope was to remove it completely, but I wasn't successful with my first attempts. Instead I found that I could edit the SQLite database contained within. This allows one to add custom applications as they see fit.
If you want to remove it completely:

Requirements:
Galaxy S3 with stock or near stock firmware (CM9/CM10 will won't have Earphones Connected options to my knowledge)
Root Access
SQLite Editor: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.speedsoftware.sqleditor
Free version doesn't seem to work. Try if you insist:
SQLite Editor(Free version SQLite editor, thanks eschelon)
It appears the free one is a version behind. 1.4.1, maybe they will update it eventually.
Where the pay for app is 1.5
1.5 had some ICS compatibility added..
Step 1)
Open SQLite
You should get a screen like this:
Step 2)
Tap "TouchWiz home"
{
"lightbox_close": "Close",
"lightbox_next": "Next",
"lightbox_previous": "Previous",
"lightbox_error": "The requested content cannot be loaded. Please try again later.",
"lightbox_start_slideshow": "Start slideshow",

"lightbox_download": "Download",
"lightbox_share": "Share",
"lightbox_zoom": "Zoom",
"lightbox_new_window": "New window",
"lightbox_toggle_sidebar": "Toggle sidebar"
}
Then tap "launcher.db"
Then tap "appOrder" ...
Step 3)
This should bring you to the SQLite table for your app drawer. This will list the info we need for launching the app of you choosing. For this example we will use Google Maps as our app of choice. The screen should like similar to this, (a jumbled mess):
From here you want to hit the menu button and select "Set Filter
Type in maps, and click ok:
Step 4)
Now you will have a bit more manageable table. Press and hold on maps until you get this pop up and select "Edit Record".
Step 5)
Scroll down and copy the "componentName" data:
Step 6)
Press back until you get to the database lists again. Then tap the "ContextAwareService"
Step 7)
Tap "logDatabase.db" ...
Then tap "appLogTable"
side note: sqlite_sequence determines what number the next entry will be in the table. This may be necessary to know in case there are too many apps in the table and the ones you try to add don't show on the screen. Also if I remember right setting this to 0 will reset you to default applications and clear your changes, although it doesn't always fix problems with crashes if you experience them. I would still do a nandroid and/or titanium backup just in case
Step 8)
You should now have a screen like this: (you may notice google play is already on my list, ignore that)
Press the menu button and select "New Record"
Side note: You can long press the other entries and delete them as you please if there are particular ones you don't want listed. I'd recommend at least screen shot before doing so. I wouldn't actually do this, as I think I found a more stable work around for unwanted apps: See here.
Step 9)
Warning a lot of people are gettings this error on this step:"Record creation failed-unable to open database file"
I am unaware of the cause or how to fix it as of yet. I am using the paid for version myself, so I don't know if that makes some sort of difference. I would doubt that it does. Also I am on the Bean rom.
Please post if you have failure or success and what rom you are using as well as if you used the free or paid version of the app.
Now paste the earlier copied text into the "activity_name" section.
Paste the earlier copied text up to the / in the "pkg_name" section (See the screen shot for example)
Tap "save"
side note:The last field "exec_freq_with_headset" seems to keep track of how many times you launch the app through the notification menu. So far it seems to order the most frequently used on the left, and the lest frequently used on the right. Although you shouldn't need to add any number there as it will default to 0. This should better explain the "exec_freq_with_headset"
Woot Done:
Plug in some headphones and see what it looks like:

Were the headphones still plugged in? Maybe it was still accessing the database when you attempted to edit it?
Another thought is to close out SQLite Editor and reopen it, maybe once you used Play Music it incremented the "exec_freq_with_headset" field and the editor didn't see the update yet.

Working fine for me. I can post a screen shot later. I gotta run some errands.

nice. was just in the subway today wondering if there was a way to change those, since i would like to add spotify and poweramp in the list. thanks!
I messed up my database, somehow causing the process to continually crash. Which in the past I was able to delete everything and it went back to the default. This time it went back to default but still crashed. So I did a restore from titanium backup and it was back to normal. So probably backup in between each edit. Also the "exec_freq_with_headset" seems to be based on your total number of apps. So if you have like 10 total the one with 10 will show up on the far left, up to 5 will show. I hope this makes sense.
10 ... 9 ... 8 ... 7 ... 6
This seems to negate the need to delete any of them. Also I think deleting may have caused my process to crash previously.
Heres some screen shots to explain it: (if i put one of the app's "exec_freq_with_headset" to 11 it would shift all the rest to the right one and knock the farthest right one off the screen's visibility. But if I set to 12 I think it will cause crash issues.)
When I try to save (step 9), it won't and I get the error "Record creation failed-unable to open database file"
Happened when I tried to add MortPlayer, Listen, and Pandora. None would save. I'm rooted and running regular Touchwiz rom.
Also, I noticed that in Step 3 most of my apps were not listed, including many of my favorite audio apps. I realized that this is because I'm using a different launcher (Apex), and only the apps that were on the Samsung launcher before I started using Apex were showing up. To fix this, I cleared Apex as the default launcher, launched the Samsung launcher, let all the apps show in the app drawer, then started over with your steps. This time all the apps were there in Step 3.

I posted this quote at the beginning of the how to. Use titanium backup and freeze the process. Although this isn't very well tested to my knowledge:

You may be able to open the database for your particular home app instead of switching back. Just a thought.

EDIT: Nope, still says "unable to open database file". The text fields that I copy from those apps are noticeably smaller than the one for Play Music....something to do with it?

What Rom are you guys using? I have edited mine quite a bit and still not been able to reproduce the error you guys are having.
Getting the same error using Bean's rom. Still on stock launcher and free sqlite editor
I get the error whether I try to add a new record or edit an existing one.

I tried the free version now that I got home and found I am getting the same error. I don't know how they are different, but it just won't work for me. I also couldn't get any screen shots while in the free app, I don't know why. I getting out my Gnex to take a photo of it not working.
It appears the free one is a version behind. 1.4.1
Where the pay for app is 1.5
1.5 had some ICS compatibility added.

[APP][FREE][Non-root] USSD vulnerability fix

Hi XDA's !
I made a quite simple, small and free app that will help you to fix the recent showed USSD/MMI vulnerability which affects many android devices.
For reference: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Q2-0B04HPhs
Most Samsung phones are fixed to data wipe (there's not reported MMI command for HTCs), but still MANY Android devices are vulnerable to MMI commands including PIN code change ones, that can block your SIM card, after executing MMI command for PIN change more than 10 times with wrong PIN (for example malicious URL with 10 frames with PIN change instruction).
Please follow the installation instructions below:
1. Check if your phone is vulnerable - open your mobile browser and navigate to: http://goo.gl/4IWgL (or use the barcode below)
2. If your phone is vulnerable you will see your IMEI number displayed.
This means that service MMI commands can be executed on your phone, when you visit a malicious web page. The MMI commands are service commands, and if you see the IMEI it doesn't mean that your phone is vulnerable to the Samsungs data wipe vulnerability. BUT an attacker can still block your SIM card issuing a MMI string to change your PIN code more than 10 times. Finally your SIM card will be blocked.
3. If DON'T see the IMEI number, you are safe and you don't need this app
4. If you see a popup with your IMEI number, then install this app from Google Play (click on install button on the the left).
5. Once you install the app navigate again to: http://goo.gl/4IWgL (or use the barcode below)
6. Your phone will ask you how to complete the action. Choose USSDFix and mark it as default for this action.
7. You will see a notification that your phone tries to open a page that contains a USSD call and will block it.
8. Your phone is safe now !

Use this barcode to test your phone:
NOTE: The app uses a hidden launcher and will not appear in the list of the other apps on your phone desktop. If you want to remove the program, please navigate to Settings / Manage Applications and then remove "USSDfix" app.

First it handles calls from browser like "tel:", then it checks for * and %23 (#) in the dialed string.
Are the HTC's vulnerable too? and the Sense 4?
Unfortunately some HTC's are. You can test yours using the URL provided in the thread (or using the barcode scanner).

The problem is that if you open a malicious URL in your browser, the browser can send a USSD command tothe dialer to factory reset your phone.
I hope that they will fix this soon, but if you are vulnerable and cannot update your phone you are at risk.
well my sensation is a culprit of it too ..unfortunately
i tested the app and its working perfectly well ...so SENSATION USERS GO AHEAD AND USE THIS APP
BTW voted for PORTAL .... lot of people should know this vulnerability and the fix for it

see at the end you should kinda prevent browser to give control of using phone ...thats what this app does ..its like a firewall ..which checks the code before giving the command to the phone ..if you bypass the firewall itself ..how can you expect it to prevent using phone

get the point now ?

[APP] Easy Contact Sync

Hey everyone,
then next app BETA is finished "Easy Contact Sync".
Based on my last app "Easy App Toolbox", I created this new app for handling your contacts.
Contacts are saved as VCARDs (*.vcf files). This way they can easily be used in any other application that can handle VCARDs.
Feature List:
* Backup/Restore to/from Dropbox
* Backup/Restore to/from Google Drive
* Backup/Restore to/from Box.net
* Backup/Restore to/from SD card
* Auto Sync (automatically backup all contacts every night at 0:00)
* Directly send/share one or multiple contacts
I'm really looking forward to your feedback!
The app is available at the Play Store: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=de.goddchen.android.easycontactsync
as well as via QR code

The app uses a freemium model again: free selection limit: 3 contacts at a time, auto-sync is also available via in-app purchase. As you are used to, you can freely choose how much you want to pay!

The contacts system app?
Does this app maintain the quality of the contact photos?
I've added photos from my SD card for higher resolution as it looks better during incoming/outgoing calls. Would love to be able to restore contacts without having to manually update the pictures!
can this back up my facebook contacts?coz only in htc sence it syncs fb phone numbers and i want to try cm in my phone but will lose my fb contacts numbers
I wanted to know what the major difference is between this app and the google contacts? dont they both automatically sync my contact info.. ???
I'm not sure if this is already supported but if it dosent i want to make a suggestion for a feature ...
I've synced my contacts from google account(phone numbers) and facebook and linkedin and twitter... And manually put them together so each one matches the appropriate contact.. but every time i flash a rom i loose this data.. can you make sure that the links that are mainted are reestablished when i install a new rom and reinstallt the apps and sync my contacts so they atutomatically stich themselves back together.. ????

Heya... very nice app
I read about it today morning and want to test it immediatelly. After 2 mins of testing I bought the premium version right off. Exactly what I'm looking for.
The app and backup itself with DropBox works great on my Galaxy Note II.
Some whishes for the Future if possible:
- SD-Card-Backup takes only the internal card. It will be great if I can select the external SD-Card too
- It will be nice if I have an overview about activated tasks (what - when - where)
- It will be a nice feature if I can change the time and intervall of backup
Thank you for this amazing app.

It currently takes the default "external storage" returned by the Android SDK. But it's a good idea to add a setting for customizing the output folder Added to the TODO list
Well currently auto-backup is always scheduled to run at midnight. In the current situation, it is enough to display an on/off state of the feature. But adding customized scheduling is a nice idea, definitely on the TODO list and with that, of course, any overview about the scheduled backups

Awesome,
yes there were some guys that rated 1 star without giving any explanation in the comment. I have already contacted those guys via G+ but normally those guys won't respond. And therefore I cannot do anything about the causes of their 1-star ratings...
I have also experienced in the past that developers of competing apps and their friends are giving 1-star ratings to all competitors... that's very sad

But also I think - at the end - quality, functinality, and especially the direct right contact between developer and enduser and finally the great idea of Android wins ... I hope so and I trust that

1. No select all even after getting premium? REALLY? I have 300+ contacts and am not going to select them all one by one.
2. All cloud options fail. Nothing ever comes up about logging into them for the backup = constant FAILED TO UPLOAD errors.
3. After upgrading to premium why should i still see the button advertising for other apps? Completely out of the question.
4. Get rid of the dumb "how do you like this app" at the bottom. Unnecessary.
5. Add custom backup/restore path selection for backup to sd card and even cloud backups.
6. A settings option is a great invention that allows someone to configure all sorts of things and is an integral part of 99.9% of apps out there, yet this app lacks one.
I rated very poorly in the store along with a review until some of these features (most are no brainers imo) are added/fixed.
AW: [APP] Easy Contact Sync
Year... thats is typically for XDA for a lot of month ago....
every new app with potential will be rated poor or very poor at first...
In my opinion this is primary a discrimination on all the new apps and developers... Could this be the sence of rating? I don't think so... and this could not be the right way...
I have installed many apps which are rated poor or very poor. In any case at the moment I'm shure that these apps are one of the best.
In these days you can only read - especially the descriptions of developers - read and read... and than at least it is your decision if you install an app or not. In most cases developers describe exactly what an app can do and what not.
And than developers get an poor rating because not supporting an feature that never been discussed.
Thats crazy... thats real crazy... I'm very sad about this... I'm sorry... we all have got a great tool named Android in this case... and I'm shure too... these actions are not similar with the spirit of Android !!!

[APP][Android 2.3+] [Root] WhatsMore - Allow 2 phone numbers to be linked to WhatsApp

Hi everyone,
I make this app for my own daily use originally. However, I found that many people are asking for similar features on WhatsApp. So, I make it available on Google Play Store. You need a rooted device to run this app.
WhatsMore is an add-on account management to make WhatsApp holding more than 1 phone number even on a single-SIM mobile phone. Now, we can give different phone numbers to the family, co-workers, customers, net-friends, and etc…
Features:
- Allow Up to 2 phone numbers to be used with WhatsApp on the same device.
- Auto swapping WhatsApp accounts in a user preset interval.
- Show notifications when swapping WhatsApp accounts.
- Show notifications if there are unread messages of swapped out WhatsApp accounts.
- Launch any inactive WhatsApp account from within WhatsMore.
- Perform auto recovery upon the App starts (or the phone starts up) if the previous swapping process is interrupted. (ie. Power off, reboot of the mobile phone, upgrade from the play store)
** The following statement is copied from the official WhatsApp FAQ **
If you attempt to frequently switch your WhatsApp account between different devices, at a certain point, you may be blocked from re-verifying your account. So please do not repeatedly switch between different devices.
Using this app is a different story. You only register the each linked phone number once. And, you are always working on 1 device only.
Set up procedures:
Assume you have phone number 1 and phone number 2. Follow the following steps to do the configuration:
1. Make sure the WhatsApp is properly registered with phone number 1.
2. Start WhatsMore and swipe to the tab - Manage Profiles.
3. Click the [import] button on the bottom of the screen.
4. Input a profile name when prompted for.
5. After import success, you can see the button on the bottom of the screen has the label changed. It should read ‘Prepare WhatsApp for a new registraion’.
6. Click the [prepare] button and you will get a warning dialog.
7. Click [Continue] and wait for the process to be finished.
8. Turn off the phone and swap the SIM cards of phone number 1 and 2.
9. Start WhatsApp
10. Go thru the WhatsApp registration procedure using the phone number 2.
11. Make sure the new phone number 2 is working on the WhatsApp.
12. Start WhatsMore and swipe to the tab - Manage Profiles.
13. Click the [import] button on the bottom of the screen.
14. Input a profile name when prompted for.
15. Swipe to the tab - Status.
After doing the above steps, you should see 2 phone icons on the status tab.
Note:
Make sure you have the latest Busybox installed. Otherwise, this app won't work!
HAPPY CHATTING!

I don't really unterstand that, 2 numbers on a Single sim card? Can anybody explain it to me?
Please make it compatible with Android 2.3 as well as many of us have dual sim phone which are still having 2.3 so please try to get it in the compatible list.
I would like to know if the message database of two accounts will be merged into one or two separate databases will be kept?

Separated internal memory storage for each WhatsApp number.
A new version of WhatsMore has been published to the play store. It uses a less complicated root command syntax and perhaps more devices are supported. Also, please make sure you have the latest Busybox installed.

Some carriers certainly provides 2 numbers on 1 sim-card. However, you don't need this special sim-card to use WhatsMore. Once you are done with the WhatsApp registration, you can pull out that sim-card out of your phone. It is not needed anymore when you are chatting WhatApp.
I do not receive any confirmation number as I do not see any banners at all..what can I do?

The release version has a fix. In the beta version, the number picker did not refresh the phone wake up duration when the auto rotation had already been turned on. Thanks.
I'm using the donate version on an HTC One S running CM 10.0. The app keeps asking to grant Superuser twice upon every startup, despite having told my superuser-app to automatically grant permission upon the first run. After having used Whatsnow, other apps requiring root keep telling me they couldn't find the SU-binary and won't work anymore till restart.
Anyone have this problem? Once i've installed, connect to the wireless access point, unable to get the IP address, and at the end wireless will disconnect automatically.
Please advise.
Btw, I'm using Samsung Note 2 N7105.
Thanks.
awesome, thanks !

on galaxy s4, after installation and viewing an add, i returned back to whats more.
The 4 digit activation code is written there. Below there is a message " Input activation code here"
I input the verification code but nothing happens after that. there is no "Enter" button in the key pad of whats more.
Please help.
