XPERIA Z3v Unrooting Issues - Xperia Z3 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

So I recently rooted my XPERIA Z3v device, and I have decided to unroot it (don't bother trying to convince me to keep the root, I am far beyond your rhetorical questions) and I rooted with the mobile version of kingoapp.com root. When I attempt to unroot my device, neither the computer software nor the app itself are unable to unroot the device. Honestly, I regret ever rooting, and being the rookie I am, I just want to unroot my device so I can go about normal life.
Can someone please help me? I am on the edge of **** right now.

Can you provide links for FTF and such? Sorry for the pestering, it's late at night and I just want to go to bed.
PC Companion refuses to acknowledge that the Z3v exists, Sony lacks support for it.

http://www.flashtool.net/index.php
You can download the FTF using flashtool as well.
I am pretty sure PCCompanion provides support for the Z3v

Trust me, the XPERIA Z3v lacks any support from Sony. It is basically the basterd child of the Sony smartphone division. Pc Companion won't work for this, I have tried many times.
As for the FTF, I don't see any D6708 model firmwares there, is my feeble newbie mind missing something?
On another note again, I will be willing to keep the root access, it's just that I attempt to replace the Kinguser SU app, and superSU can't seem to update it's binary to do so. Any help there?

what firmware version are you looking for? LL or LP
Original KK firmware here: http://firmwaremobile.com/index.php/xperiadownload/file/262-z3-v
I can't find the LP leaked firmware. I believe you can download it using xperifirm and create the ftf using the flash tool.

I am looking for firmware 23.0.E.1.44. I found a supposed compatible firmware on Sony's website, but the boot unlocking and flashing seems to be a bit out of my range when it comes to understanding. (Kitkat 4.4.4)

can't unlock the bootloader on the z3v so don't worry about that. You'll have to use the flashtool to flash the KK firmware I linked above then take the OTA to .44

Way to debrand Xperia L c2105

Hello everyone!
I'm wondering if it's possible to debrand my xperia and install an original Sony firmware just changing my costumization number in the build.prop file and connect the phone to PC companion and make a repair installation.
Everything with bootloader locked and phone rooted.
Finally using this guide step one and two http://forum.xda-developers.com/xperia-l/general/guide-download-firmware-customization-t2355982
Is it possible? Can anyone confirm that? Or twill there be some problems?
Thanks a lot!!

i dont know if repair via pcc can solve this kind of problem, but i can say the simplier way to do that is flashing fw ftf via flashtool without any build.prop editing because after this youll get fresh fw without any bugs but you can try the way you mentioned here, it cant harm your phone.
repair is not 100% solution

You can use SUS to 'update' your firmware, however it's more easy and simple by just flashing an FTF file which can be found here
Flashable FTF's

PS what is SUS?

You can/should use the worldwide FTF file mentioned in the reply above.
I'm from the Netherlands myself and most of West-Europe should simply use the worldwide file.
EDIT
About SUS, it stands for Sony Update Service, it's just like PC Companion but only the updating & repair of Xperia devices. It has no programs to transer files etc.

I have two last question:
From the guide I see I have to put my phone in Flash mode. Is it possible without unlocking my bootloader?
I have my phone rooted. If I flash a firmware with FTF will I lost my root?

1. You don't need to unlock your bootloader to flash FTF files
2. Yes, you'll need to root your phone again
I've flashed EuropeCE firmware via flashtool and Vodafone branding disapeared from my phone, along with a bunch of bloatware.

[Q] A clean way to install 5.0 on Z3 today?

Hi.
Apologies for the obvious question, but I can't get past content-free articles and I can't find anything useful with my weak google-fu.
Now that the Lolipop is officially out for Z3 (and other phones) what is the best way for me to install on a on unrooted phone?
My device is unlocked D6633 Z3 dual sim (with no carrier restrictions) and I also have Mac + Sony Bridge installed and I have downloaded the Baltic image for Z3, but it's the right one - it is for D6603.
Is there an image for D6633 available?
Can someone point me to the right tutorial?
Is there a way to force Z3 to download the update, or to point it to an update?
I don't have any data on the phone yet, so I don't mind losing any settings, but once I upgrade, I would rather this was an official image that I can continue getting updates for.
The first thing I'd do would be backup the DRM keys.
After that, you need not worry about messing up and it makes everything a lot less risky.
If you have stock firmware, you could just flash the baltic image over and all should be well. But better wait for another opinion, I don't have that much experience with Sony phones, maybe there's a danger lurking...

Thanks for the quick replies but my phone is not rooted and also D6633 not 6603. If possible, I'd rather not root, don't see the point in my case, to be honest. The linked guide requires some Wiindows software to root. Unfortunately I don't have access to a Windows machine today.
Given that the offiicial, signed images are out, do I really need to root, what's the advantage?

Sorry yes I missed that you were referring to the dual sim model, I miss read it.
So once the update becomes available, download a FTF for your phone, then flash that using flashtool straight over top, search for details on how to use flashtool. You don't need to be rooted, there are pinned references in the Z3 sections

[Q] Can't find updates for android 4.4.4

Hello. My xperia m2 says that there are no updates and the phone is up to date but it's with android 4.4.2. Theres 1 secound delay in the sound when I play games or use downloaded apps like youtube also the audio doesn't sound very good. To fix that I need to update the android version but I cant. I connected the phone to my computer and updated it with sony PC companion but the version is still 4.4.2. What should I do? I don't want to use flashtools or anything. I think it's the phone's fault for that and I should give it back to the place where I bought it so they can fix that. The phone is brand new and they already changed my camera because it wasn't working. So what should I do?
I suppose it has to do with the Country of your phone and/or if it is branded. IF after using PC Companion it's still with 4.4.2 I'm afraid your best (and only) option is to use Flashtool. Not sure how it works if it is branded though, you may need to to something to be able to de-brand it.
Well, actually try first to check if 4.4.4 is available in this way:
- Dial *#*#7378423#*#* (*#*#service#*#*)
- Check the number in Service Info/SW Info/Customization version. You just need the xxxx-yyyy part
- Downdload and install Flashtool (it's small. You just need it for checking)
- Run Flashtool
- Go to Devices/Check Updates
- Select your phone double clicking on the id xxxx-yyyy you have got before.
- If the version is 18.3.C (like the one for 3 UK) there is no 4.4.4. the latest ROM is 4.4.2. It must be 18.3.1.C for 4.4.4
My is branded from T-mobile, and i flashed CE ftf to debrande, everything is good except i don't have extra apps that T-mobile puts in. As i know your safe flashing ftf cos it's official Sony's software, just using Flashtool instead of PC Companion and you won't lose warranty, as long as you don't unlock bootloader.
Good Luck.
Xperia M2 D2303 on K.K. 4.4.4

Obviously on the computer. It's needed to flash the phones from it. Just google it, you find it immediately. Then if you decide to flash a generic 4.4.4 FTF just search around. There are dozens of guides in the Internet.
Alright thanks for your support guys

To experts, how can I Update after root?

Hi xda developers, I'm a new z3 user (D6633) running lollipop 5.1.1 , and I want to root my z3 to use titanium Backup,
1) I'm afraid that if I root my z3, I won't be able to update to marshmallow when it arrives, I also read somewhere that I still can update but will lose drm (I don't know what that is )
2) is there a way to unroot, to install the official update ?
Please explain in details and provide links if you could, cus I'm totally new on Sony
Any advice is appreciated
Im sure there will be a pre-rooted stock ROM for dl as soon after M. hits. Depends if one need to flash other things as well like firmware etc. but these things are included in the same FTF. I have gone through a few Android versions and things usually works out fine in a short matter of time.
If you absolutely want to go full stock, just flash a stock FTF from http://forum.xda-developers.com/z3/general/ftf-stock-firmwares-xperia-z3-models-t2886061
Using Flashtool.

where i can download xz ftf files (PH brand)

just want to ask where can i get ftf files, specifically xperia xz dual PH customization...
https://xpericheck.com/cda/1306-6452
cuz on xpericheck, after i click the ftf download button, it brings me to alfafile.net
but alfafile require premium subscription to download files larger than 1gb... but the ftf file isa 2.5gb...
is there any links avalable? thanks?
I would recommend using XperiFirm through the Xperia Flashtool (the community tool). The tool allows you to download the ftf file and it automatically unpacks and repacks so you can flash to your phone. You also need to have an unlocked bootloader to do this by the way.
If you are not on an unlocked bootloader, I would recommend downloading Sony Mobile Emma and putting your phone in flash mode to see if the software recognizes an update is available.

MysticEnforcer has posted some German FTFs (they should work for you) on Android File host. search for his name in this forum.
Otherwise search for "FTF download" first in this forum and than broaden your search. You are not alone with this problem.
Or if there is a local "PH" forum ask the users there if they can get you a DLable link.
@turner2914 Don't use Emma. Flashtool works with unlocked bootloaders as long as you flash SONY ftfs.
Xperifirm also is my first stop in searching for new ROMs
Read what I have written in my [Guide] on different FTFs (scroll down).

My bad, I'm still somewhat new to the Sony phone community. Sony is quite different than Samsung and LG haha. Much appreciated, one question for you though. I backed up my TA partition before fiddling around with roms and root, what purpose is there to restore it? I haven't really been able to find a straight forward answer.

to quote my [GUIDE]:
Now it is your last chance to save your device keys or "backup the trim area partition"
You should do this if you ever want to return to a SONY "blessed" state. e.g claiming service in countries where warranty is not for devices with unlocked bootloader or you want to sell it.
Otherwise do not bother with restoring the TA-partition. Doing so after the next steps will soft brick your device.
