Though I would ask before I give it a shot. Would it be possible to use Samsung pay after gaining root with chainfire's new Systemless Root?

Noticed someone has gotten Android Pay to work on a custom rom using systemless root. Would it be much different with samsung pay?

This would only work if the systemless root didn't trip knox.

Super interesting and potentially super dope. Any word on whether or not it trips Knox?
Going to go out on a limb here and say it will trip knox since you have to have TWRP installed to flash the modified img file. When you flash TWRP or anything not signed, you trip Knox.
Only thing that'll work is with an exploit root. But that hasn't happened in awhile. So this won't work either, sorry. : (

Hi,
Is there a preferred method to gain root in the P905M (probably is the same as P905 model) between Towelroot and Cf-root?
I read some posts and it seems that the Towelroot don't trip the KNOX counter in this model. Probably the Cf-root will trip the KNOX counter.
It seems too that the hotboot problem can be fixed with a xposed module.
I´m pending to use the Towelroot. Am I missing something?
Thanks in advanced!
PS: My Kernel is: 3.4.0-1253936 (Mon Apr 7)
Regards,
Rodrigo.

As long as it's a snapdragon processor which p905 and p907a have towel root should work. Hot reboot I believe is Knox and kernel security issue, if you let supersu disable Knox you will have reboots, or at least I did on my p907a.

So can you explain?
So you use towelroot then download supersu from play store and don't disable knox so not reboots?.
Yes, of course!
1- Download the towelroot apk from the developer website;
2- Execute it and gain root.
3- Install Super su from Play Store;
4- Execute Super su and accept to disable KNOX;
5- The Super su freezes while disabling KNOX;
6- Reboot because Super su stopped;
7- Open Super su and accept disable KNOX again;
8- Done!
I lost my Wifi settings after this. Configured it again and no problems anymore.
Good Lucky!

No.
But You can use Towelroot even with the latest firmware if you temporarily load an older image of the kernel.

I just did it with my P905 (snapdragon) , latest firmware & security updates (no older image needed): it worked, no problems except for the known needed reboot when stuck on disabling Knox (Super SU).
There is no risk in trying Towelroot anyway, it either works or not. It won't trigger Knox.
Only reason I wanted root for this tablet is to do a full backup (Titanium/Helium).

Apparently some Euro countries got a security update in september/october that might break the Towelroot exploit.
I didn't get that OTA update in Belgium yet... so not sure it would have worked for you in fact.
And for tripping Knox, don't worry, we will probably all end up doing it with future firmware versions if we want to keep root access: just don't corrupt your bootloader
Thank you, I'm going to use original firmwares and recovery, I just wanted root permissions

I have p907a and was wondering if TWRP would work on our model. Do you happen to know?

I don't know but if bootloader is locked then it will probably not work.
Hi,
I am really tempted to root my work phone and I am totally digging these Temporary Root methods like TowelRoot and KingRoot where the root is lost upon reboot. I haven't been able to find a clear answer and I figured i'd ask here.
Can someone tell me if these methods trips the KNOX warranty counter? I have a Note 4 and like I said, it's a work phone and I wouldn't want any issues down the road if I left the company or whatever.
I would be open to hearing if there are permanent root methods that don't trip KNOX as well for the Note 4.
Thx in advance.
I found this older thread:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2499546&page=2
Where they are saying it doesn't trip knox, but I'm not sure about now in 2015.

That thread is for Note 3.
By the way, Latest Kingroot doesn't trip the Knox.
Anyway, you could ask it in the Note 4 Forum here.
hello people of XDA devs
this question has probably been asked before on the threads but im new to forums so im not really familiar on how things works here.
just a question though, i am planning to root my samsung galaxy s5.
i know im going to be tripping my knox counter but my question is will i get OTA updates still if my knox has been tripped?
i want rooting for xposed framework, lucky patch, busybox and for nandroid recoveries

You will need to flash back stock recovery in order to get ota updates.
Why do you need to trip knox??
you can root the S5 without tripping Knox!!

Even with the latest os 5.0?
I used to have an s4 and back then no one has found out a way to root it without tripping Knox and I'm not going to flash any custom rom. I just want the xposed framework and lucky patcher

You can flash back to kitkat and then upgrade with flashfire to stock rooted lollipop.

Really, and how is that done. I have an S5 on AT&T running 5.0, phone was replaced through warranty for a newer version of the S5.
Towelroot didn't even work on my phone when it was on 4.4.2 through 4.4.4
So if there is any that you know how to root my phone, please let me know because I've been looking for a working root since I obtained the phone.
I want to root my S6 but I know nothing about rooting and such. I've tried towelroot, kingroot and pingpong but none of them seem to support my device.
It's model nr SM-G920F and the build number is MMB29K.G20FXXS3DPD3. I'd like to root it without triggering knox if possible, if it's not tell me what not to do as to avoid bricking it.
It's 6.0.1 Marshmallow
Sorry if this noobish of me to ask but I can't find any tuts with which I feel secure rooting, thanks!

Yes it does. I rooted it yesterday. But be careful with TWRP,
"recovery is not seandroid enforcing" may appear on boot, and u may experience a bootloop.
Keep a stock official rom in your pc, in case u want to recover. Use Odin

Would you mind adding me on skype, I'm still having trouble understanding this
I have an s9 plus (exynos) so I know I can root my phone but I'm still worried about tripping Knox.
There's also towelroot which doesn't trip knox and if you do not install a custom rom no harm will be done to Knox.
My question is now if Towelroot will work with the S9+, some say it will some say it won't .
If towelroot is the way to go how about installing root (supersu or magisk) can this be done without installing another bootloader?
As far as I know installing another bootloader will also harm Knox
Towelroot hasn't worked for years now. It's only for pre-Lollipop devices. The only way to root now is to unlock the bootloader and trip Knox.
lmao.. yea, towelroot is super old...
