Problem with facebook app on 6.0 rom - ONE Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

So I installed 6.0 ROM from Sultan about two weeks ago. Since about a week, my facebook app crashed and has since not wanted to reopen. It starts the app, colours my notification bar blue (like it always does when starting up), gives me a five second whitescreen, then it kills the app.
I've tried installing older versions of the app, newer versions of the app and the same version, all end up in the same place. Deleted data, cache when the app is installed and tried then, but no luck. I have a feeling the app just isn't even installing anymore because every night I get triggered to ''update'' facebook, which is the same 41MB the actual app is when you download it for the first time.
How do I completely wipe ALL of this app's data from my phone without having to do like a clean install? Or is this a problem common with this rom/6.0 and can I fix this? Any help is much appreciated, I'm lost. Every other app works just fine.

facebook app stopped working

so, the Facebook app stopped working, and now only force closes. someone right next to me on a different android phone has no problem, so the issue must be isolated to the charge.
I,m running a rom called infinity, but I can't find the thread with that rom any more.
anyone else run into problems with the Facebook app? I've tried clearing cache, uninstalling, rebooting, reinstalling, and even tried emailing myself a known working apk to install. nothing works. what did Facebook do to break their app??

wait their app worked???
lol I've always used another app for Facebook though they all have their little problems, I'd suggest friendcaster (almost an exact clone of the official app), seesmic (cool smooth UI but lacking some features) and tweetdeck (kinda basic but gets the job done lol)
blazing through on my A500 with ICS

That is good.
Around the time I made this post, my phone began acting very flaky. On my way home from chuck e cheese where the app stopped working, and after I confirmed that Facebook was up, and the problem was isolated to my phone specifically, I rebooted into recovery to clear cache.
After clearing the cache and rebooting, my phone got stuck in a bootloop. No amount of battery pulling and trying again would get me out of the loop. After getting home I just flashed a new Rom. I decided a rooted debloated stock gingerbread rom was the way to go, so I flashed that with Odin.
Well, everything was peachy for about a week. On my way to a wedding rehearsal dinner with my girlfriend, I charged up my phone as I normally do before going out due to the dismal battery life when actually using the phone. I had the phone off at the time thinking that would make it charge ever so slightly faster since I was in a hurry.
Once I was ready to go I unplugged, hit the power button, stuffed the phone in my pocket, and left. Over an hour later, I pulled it out and noted that it was booting...
Then it rebooted
and rebooted
and rebooted
I was in ANOTHER bootloop. Tried battery pulling. Nope, back in a bootloop. I gave up for a while. At dinner I pulled it out and began tinkering. I cleared cache in recovery, but still was in the bootloop. I cleared Dalvik cache, but still was in the bootloop. I tried the factory restore option...
Well, that worked, however, I had disabled the default launcher (by renaming it with the file extension ".bak") and installed ADW launcher EX from the market. I hadn't moved the ADW apk to the system folder, thinking it would be easier to update if I left it in its default location.
So I had a phone with no launcher.
However...
I stumbled upon a solution. Somehow the voice search button still worked. I searched for market. That launched the browser. Clicking on the first link asked me if i wanted to use the browser or Market to complete the action. I chose Market. I tried installing ADW Launcher EX, but the install failed. Damn. I installed Root Explorer and launched it from within Market, used that to rename the default launcher, and voila!
Now, strangely, my phone is a LOT snappier than it has been the last couple weeks, though I've reinstalled all my apps except ADW.
I haven't quite figured out what caused either of the Bootloops, and I'm really not certain why my phone is snappier NOW after that ordeal than it was when I first flashed the rom.
After flashing a rom am I supposed to go into recovery and do a factory restore from within the new rom and recovery? I thought all you had to do was clear the Cache and Dalvik cache.
You don't necessarily have to, unless the ROM specifically tells you to in the instructions, but you can. I've also had times where my phone just crashes and burns, and I have to restock and flash ROM again. Not very fun and I have no idea what causes it, but it's not a big deal having to lose a of my stuff since I have TiBu on a nightly schedule. It's just a minor inconvenience.

Nexus 5 consistently having apps crash

Lately my Nexus 5 has been having some issues. I first started noticing this when I'd get artifacts popping up while on chrome. Then during reboot, play services would crash, and sometimes the launcher would refuse to start. Then other apps like Hangouts would refuse to let me view messages without a app crash. Even 3rd party apps have crashed on me.
I've done a full wipe and put stock 4.4.2, three different times now and within a day I get the same symptoms all over again.
This has been going on for over a week, I have absolutely no idea what to do now.
Any ideas? Is perhaps the storage bad? Any way to test it? Or what should I do.
Thanks
Flash clean stock and don't install a single app for those few days and see what happens.
If nothing, install just a few apps at a time per day. If it suddenly starts....you'll know its one of the few apps you just installed.
That's all I got. Lol

Are you flashing a custom kernel with it? Are you undervolting at all, running art? I specifically ask for undervolting, cause that will cause things to crash | reboot.
No, no custom kernel. Everything I got was from googles factory image site. https://dl.google.com/dl/android/aosp/hammerhead-kot49h-factory-02006b99.tgz
And I've never undervolted before. I could root and perhaps increase the clock speed. Also not running ART. I did a few months ago, but switched back.

Well aside from rooting, best you can do is force stop all those apps, particularly the ones that are crashing specifically, then clear those caches from the menu. After you've done all your problem apps, reboot.
If he did a full wipe and installed a fresh stock image....caches aren't the issue. Its probably one app wreaking havoc. Lol

GApps killed by system instantly

I have an issue where any google app gets killed by system within 5-10 minutes if me not using the app and leaving it in recents. This is noticeable because when I open the app it has to reload it. This is an issue with hangouts cause sometimes I don't get messages through hangouts. XDA app runs in background fine for hours at a time but I rarely have more than 2 apps in recents and I have 750mb+ of RAM.
I'm running cataclysm 5.1 with elemental x 2.11.
I have turned off grenify, left Google play services untouched, still I get the issue. Tried reinstalling hangouts and inbox (for example) and that didn't help. Its a clean install, I had this on stock 5.1 also. Both clean installs. I've reflashed the ROM so I guess its not ROM related.

Then it will be good if you try other kernel. Yesterday this thread has started and it seems that is kernel problem: http://forum.xda-developers.com/google-nexus-5/help/android-5-1-chrome-freezing-t3057023

Clearing Dalvik cache via TWRP causes apps to launch A LOT slower

Hello guys! I have a bit tricky/technical question here. Yesterday I wanted to refresh my Pixel 3 a bit (clean flash with the December firmware, then rooted and never received OTA updates) so I booted TWRP and cleared the Dalvik Cache. When I rebooted, I noticed that some apps (especially Google ones like Youtube, built-in Camera, Maps) all suffer from a slow launch. A lot slower. Like... 3-4 seconds before the YouTube app can show anything different than the white splash screen with the red play logo. The Camera is also slow enough to see the fully black screen with the small centered camera icon for 2 seconds too. This only happens on clean start (when the app is cleared from the Recent Apps panel).
I checked the /data/dalvik-cache folder and it seems that all files are re-created after the wipe, however it's fairly obvious that the apps are no longer running from the odex/oat/whatever it's called now binaries. Clearing the app cache doesn't solve the issue, I've tried that. The only 'working' solution seems to be uninstalling the offending apps (e.g. Youtube) and then performing a clean install from the PlayStore. Then, the app launches fast as usual. However, I'm afraid that I can't do this for all of my apps (I'm going to lose preferences) plus I'm kind of afraid that the System apps (like the "Settings" app) cannot be re-installed with such ease and I will be stick with slow 'clean starts' here and there forever.
Do you guys know how I can trigger the 'App optimization' process that is observed when an OTA update is applied? You know, that time consuming screen that says 'Optimizing apps, 7 of 82'. This is when Android rebuilds the dalvik-cache and apparently I need to manually perform that. The other option would be to perform a clean flash (I'm already 4 months behind anyway), but I'm not particularly thrilled by the idea. Any suggestions on how to manually trigger the App Optimization process in order to rebuild my Dalvik?
I don't have a fix for you, but don't do that with TWRP. It does not apply to newer phones.

Some very annoying issues with OP6

Iv'e been having these issues for a few weeks now, maybe someone else had them too and can help with these...
1. There's a huge lag with the share menu on every app except for Google Photos. It takes about a minute to open and until it does the app just freezes. happens in Gallery, Facebook, Whatsapp and everywhere else.
2. There's also a huge lag when an app is trying to open another app. For example, if i click on a Youtube link in FB it would take about a minute to actually open the Youtube app. I tried changing the defaults in the settings but still nothing.
3. When i go to Settings, if i go to "Apps and Notifications", it takes about a minute for the menu to open. Once it does everything works ok but if i go into a certain app settings, and i hit "back" and it's supposed to go to the main apps menu, it lags again.
4. 90% of the time to "press power twice for camera" shortcut does not work. When i do it the phone vibrates like it always does but the Camera app doesn't open.
I am on 9.0.5, Magisk 19.1, XXX No Limits.
Things i tried:
- Reflashing the rom
- Uninstalling XXX and Magisk
- Wiping Cache in recovery
These didn't help much. I tried going to OB but i still had the problems so i went back to stable which wiped everything clean and solved the issues... until a few days later when they started again.
If anyone has any other suggestions, i would be happy to hear it. Thanks in advance!
If you did a clean flash and it reappeared, it's probably a rogue app. Do another and restore things one at a time until the problem recurs.
I'm also experiencing few bugs ever since switching to 905 on both slots, mostly WiFi issues and WhatsApp being very delaying with messages etc.
had the same setup as you thought I'll go use custom roms and it's the same on those, so I'm guessing it's 905 oos the bad Apple here
I confirm delay on Whatsup....
Can i revert to 9.0.3?
Did you try a Flash all by Fastboot?
You should have stayed with Oreo
