is there any kernel which allow double tap 2 wake on sony xperia tipo.....
No, there is none and probably will never be, as it would be batttery draining option.
Hi,
I'm looking for a way to power off the One without using the power button (I don't want to wear it out!). I expected there to be a tile I could add to quick settings but I can't find one.
I've tried installing a shutdown/reboot app but as I'm using quick boot, these apps do a 'full' shutdown which is not what I want.
Have I missed something or is this functionality missing?
Thanks.
You could use terminal emulator or tasker to make a script/task to shutdown and make a shortcut on your home screen.

Double tapping the notification bar will turn the screen off. Don't know if that's what your wanting thought .

Quick boot is a setting in dev options that is sort of like hibernate. When you power off the phone, it can be booted back up in 2 seconds.

If I knew what the command was to put the device into quick boot hibernation then yes I could write a script.
Yes I know about double tapping the notification bar to put it to sleep (turn off the screen), and yes I also have the double tap to wake. But I'm still having to press the power button to 'power off' (I realise most people don't do this very often!).
Thanks...

I'm using the standard CM11S. I tried adding that sleep tile but long pressing it just takes me to the display settings page. I'd have been happy if that had worked!
Thanks anyway.
I use nova launcher. I use a gesture. double tap associated with screenoff app to turn off the screen. Double tap wake double tap in the home turn off the screen.
Hello all,
My N5 has its power button weared down. These last two days I wasnt able to turn it on because of the classic boot loop.
How can I prevent this?
I currently installed Gravity Screen to reduce power button usage to the minimum. I like how it unlocks my phone (movemente and proximity sensor work fine) but locking it doesnt seem very convenient as it doesnt support shakelock or double tap or gestures.
I'd like some app or ROM that enables me to lock my phone with a shake and unlocks it in the same fashion (or a double tap on the screen like the opo cellphone).
Are there any options?
Thanks
I have updated to android 10 Beta, with nolimits.xxx rom modul. It works like a charm, but for the first time I tried gestures for navigation.. I love it, but I have a problem.. Before when I had buttons enabled, I had back button for turning off the screen after use (double tap). How do you guys solve this problem with gestures? Is it possible to make double tap on home screen to screen off, or maybe swipe some gesture... Please let me know your solutions
On home screen, long tap and go to settings (Launcher settings), there should be an option to lock if double tap (at least it's there on Android 10)
Thanks
I generally like my 6A, but I am so frustrated by the fact that sometimes I can tap the screen to wake it, and sometimes I have to push the power button.
Does anyone else experience this, and do you have a solution ?
For background, yes I have tap to wake turned on.
Is global power management active? That can cause erratic behaviors.
It doesn't work for me outside at night.
There was a time when it was broken, afte a few seconds of screen off it will stop working, but that was a beta build.

I've searched settings and I don't find global power management. Can you point me in the right direction?

Interestingly, mine doesn't wake up after being in my pocket for a while. That's when it happens 99% of the time

What ROM are you on?
100% stock with the March security update recently applied.
A long time ago I read something about connecting to a Bluetooth device interfering with the tap to Wake feature.
When I got the March security update everything was working fine and I figured that Google had corrected whatever was wrong.
I don't know if it's coincidence, but yesterday I connected my Bluetooth speaker and son of a gun. Now it's doing the same thing again.

It's an Android core feature. Usually found in battery management with a cute name like adaptive battery.
Developer options>stand by apps, if all buckets show as active global power management is disabled. However it can't be disabled here. Altering individual app battery management doesn't effect this.
I'm rooted (stock March) and use AOSP mods option to have 'double tap to wake' replace single tap and also 'double tap to screen off' enabled and I still have times when I have to press power to wake but dub. tap to scr off is pretty reliable. FWIW I have Adap. Pwr turned off. I may see if the ASOP dev can shine some light cuz it IS annoying as hell.
I have the same problem, in addition there are identical problems with the gesture to turn on the flashlight (double tap on the back of the phone)

What are these "AOSP mods options" you speak of?
The tap to wake/double tap to sleep has been a real step down on the P6a compared to my LG-V30.
As to the OP - yes, I have seen seemingly random issues with tap to wake. Sometimes I can tap the screen several times with no response and end up resorting to the power button. Other times it just works.

Try in safe mode.
Check Accessibility options, tap duration.
Also fails for me randomly, however I'm running a custom ROM where I can toggle "pocket mode".
What I've found is that when tap to wake doesn't work, and I press the power button to wake the device, the pocket protection mode shows up on the screen for a split second (my device sitting my desk, screen up).
My guess is that the proximity sensor dies down for some odd reason, and the phone thinks the screen is covered, thus tap to wake shouldn't work.

This makes a lot of sense to me. I wish there was a fix for it.
Its almost certainly proximity sensor related.

No such option in Accessibility, or in any of the sub-options (system, Timing, etc).
Will try Safe mode later, but I'm doubtful...
