[Completed] Samsung Galaxy Mega GT-I9205 with GT-I9200 Firmware??? Is this possible? - XDA Assist

Hello everybody! I would like some help. Could anyone explain me how is this possible. I bought from somebody a Samsung galaxy mega GT-I9205 6.3 inches wich has a GT-I9200 firmware on it. When i turn it on it shows Samsung galaxy mega GT-I9205 but in the menu - about device it says it's GT-I9200. I tried several GT-I9250 firmware versions from sammobile.com using Odin but none of them was working. I also tried some other GT-I9200 versions as well and they also was not working. I added some photo's wich you can find it in My Albums (they are only 4 pic's and it's public so anybody can see them). It is much easier to see what i want to tell and what's the problem. If you need i can give further information or i can make more photo's. I hope somebody could explain me how to fix this, because i can't get any updates from samsung kies or from the device software update option.
The IMEI number is the same on the box with what it's shown in the phone.
Thanks to everybody in advance!!!

[Completed] Sm g730a help please

I am extremely new to this. I have a Samsung Galaxy S III Mini SM G730A on At&T. I need to unlock it so that I can use a different carriers sim card in it. I have searched and searched this site for answers and I guess I just dont understand. Is rooting the same as unlocking? Also I read somewhere that if the phone was running Android 4.1.1 or 4.1.2 I could unlock by dialing a few numbers in my phone. Unfortunately, my version is running Android 4.2.2. Is there any way to take it back to 4.1.1 or 4.1.2?
I have read the rules and I sorry if these questions have already been answered, but I could not find them.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks,
Sierra
Oh this is what it says in about device:
Model Number: SAMSUNG-SM-G730A

Rooting and Unlocking are two different things. Rooting allows you to remove System apps that you can not remove otherwise. It allows you to install other firmwares on your phone. It will not allow you to use other carrier's sim card. You will need to look for older firmware for your phone in order to do so. This thread will help you once you have that firmware. you can pose the question about the firmware in the forum I linked above.

[Completed] [Q] Enable 1700 band on AT&T/Rogers Samsung S3 i747m to work on T-Mobile/Wind

Hello!!!
This is my first post to the forum and I hope someone can help me.
I currently have a Samsung S3 i747 on Rogers (Canada) which uses the same frequency as AT&T in the states. I want to switch over to Wind which is the equivalent to T-Mobile.
The hardware itself is compatible however I am having trouble enabling the band. I followed the following post http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2344627 thoroughly but I am having trouble getting QPST to locate my phone.
The QPST version I have is 2.7 Build 378 and I have tried the newer version but same result.
Through device manager, I can see my phone
View attachment 3229249
Within QPST, I add the new port:
View attachment 3229253
I then get the following message of NO PHONE:
View attachment 3229252
View attachment 3229251
I am at a loss as I do not know what else to do. I can't afford a new phone right now and I do not mind the S3 for all of its problems.
My drivers are up to date. I am on Windows 8.1 as I heard the OS could be the problem but I could be wrong.
Has any one ever been able to enable this band on the S3?
Please help

I, thank you for using XDA Assist. If I understand your question you have a Tab 3 that is running Android 4.4.2 and you want to flash is back to Android 4.2.2? Many Samsung AT&T devices will not let you go backwards in firmware. But the best place to ask this question is here, http://forum.xda-developers.com/galaxy-tab-3/help Also see this, http://forum.xda-developers.com/galaxy-tab-3

[Completed] About rooting and the correct CF-file

So i have Samsung galaxy s3 LTE (4G) Running with stock and official stuff and such.
Model: GT-I9305
Android: 4.4.4
BuildID: I9305XXUFOA1
I have no experience about rooting whatsoever and decided to give it a go now.
So my question about the CF-file is: Does it matter if the file description shows different "build ID" than my phone does (my phone: I9305XXUFOA1 the file: KTU84P.I9305XXUFNL1)?
Everything else checks out fine (the android version and model)
Thanks!
