[PORT][5.1.1/6.0][5.0] Latest OmniSwitch for Lollipop and Marshmallow - Android Apps and Games

Disclaimer:

TheRoyalSeeker Presents OmniSwitch for lollipop and Marshmallow based devices....
Introduction:
Android presents a relatively easy way to switch between running apps and ending apps, but there isn’t a great way to keep favorites readily available while at the same time giving you complete control over running apps. And that’s where OmniSwitch from Omni Developer maxwen comes into play.
omniswitchOmniSwitch is an open source, recent apps switcher with support for application control and favorites. The idea behind OmniSwitch was to make application switching as easy as possible due to that function becoming more and more important in Android as RAM continues to grow in new phones. In theory, you should be able to do nearly all of your switching between apps using OmniSwitch with a single swipe and click.
OmniSwitch can be opened by swiping a drag handle that can be freely placed on either side of the screen, and opens as an overlay which contains three parts:
Action Buttons – for application control like “kill all”, “kill others” or “switch to last app”
Recent apps – a horizontal list of recent apps where swiping up or down will stop the app
Favorites – a horizontal list of apps which can be configured
As Omni is about freedom of choice, we chose to implement this as a standalone application so that if you don’t like it, or don’t want to use it, you will have absolutely no side-effects to your experience. Most of the features, except for application control, will work fine. However for controlling applications like killing them, OmniSwitch needs special permissions that are only available if it is installed as a system app. It is for this reason that we chose (grin) to include it inside of the build.
Most of the configuration options should be self-explanatory, consisting of settings to define location, look of the drag handle, the overlay, and the favorite applications list and their order. One noteworthy setting is “Auto-hide.” In order to prevent accidentally triggering the OmniSwitch, this will change it to a two-step activation mechanism. The first swipe will show the drag handle for 3 seconds, and the second swipe with activate it.

Rotary Feed :
It creates a feed by using what you have enabled in settings.
It gets the information from various sources and creates timeline for you.
I've named the timeline logic as Awesome Logic.
Rotary App Chooser :
It works by using app importance logic. If you are using the application too much, then move it to first page by holding app and dragging onto "+".
if you don't use that much, hold & drag onto "-"

Tutorial
Rotary Home Tutorial
1- Touch and hold to center to see all the pages, and while holding, slide onto the page you wanted to see.
2- Slide the clock below to up, to see Feed.
3- The Icon with 3 lines on left top, shows the details of weather.Touch to see details.
4-Touch and hold onto apps , to see options about chosen app.
These options are "+" to increase app's importance and moves to first page. "-" button does otherwise . And uninstall button deletes the app from device.

Hey, i got the error report now from Google. :good:
I started working on it, and that error may be temporary(you can try relaunch), in short it's because of google play services related background process of RotaryHome.
However, if i can get some information about where the force close happened, it can help me to fix the bug.

it's compatible with 5.1.x, and i'm using it on my device at the moment. I'm not really sure about why it prevents you to install, as soon as i get the statistics from google, i'll look what can i do.
M9 is currently looks like in supported devices list.
And i don't have an option to block countries, so you should be able to install in Germany.

LineageOS 15.1 support!
Profile Shortcuts for LineageOS provides android system shortcuts as well as Tasker events and actions for your LineageOS/CyanogenMod system profiles. Shortcuts can be added to your home screen, profiles can be launched from customisation/automation apps such as Tasker, and profile changes can be detected as an event in Tasker.
Most but not all functionality requires the fantastic Tasker automation app:
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=net.dinglisch.android.taskerm
This app utilises the LineageOS/CyanogenMod Platform SDK (level 2, Boysenberry) and therefore requires Lineage OS 13+ or CyanogenMod 13.
Unfortunately, due to a bug in Cyanogenmod, profile change detection requires SDK level 6, Fig. Please update Cyanogenmod to snapshot ZNH5Y or later, or a nightly from April 2016 or later to use this feature.
A bug in Lineage OS 14.1/CyanogenMod 14.1 prevents this app from working on this system on releases before 28/03/17. Please update to a LineageOS 14.1 release from 28/03/17 or later.
I had been using a very similar app by developer Mufri for many years but unfortunately it seems that his version isn’t compatible with marshmallow and above, so this app is intended to fill that gap.
App is in beta so let me know here if you have any problems or suggestions.

Hey Battlemoose. I'm really looking forward to the Tasker integration with your new app. Specifically I'm looking to 1) trigger Tasker Profiles on an automated CM13 Profile change and 2) launch a CM13 Profile from a Task in Tasker. I've been using Profle 4 Tasker for years and I'm going crazy without it!
Any estimates on an alpha for Tasker integration?

Hey TornSack, both of those suggestions are on the cards for the next iteration of development. Unfortunately I'm doing this in my spare time so I can't say how long it will take. Knowing that someone is interested in my work is great though so I'll get onto it ASAP.
Updated to include Tasker/Locale support for switching profiles.
More Tasker features coming soon!

Hi Gaukler, unfortunately my app uses components of the CyanogenMod Platform SDK that aren't available in versions lower than CM13 so I'm afraid it can only run on Marshmallow and upwards.
Thanks for the answer. I found a solution for Lollipop. Anyway good work. I tested your app on my note 1 with unofficial cm13 and tasker. All worked fine.
Just had to move back to lollipop due to massive battery drain...
Greetings

Thanks for your support @Gaukler_Faun! Just out of curiosity, what was your solution on Lollipop?
Found the solution in this post:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=62244400
It's open source:
https://github.com/morckx/CMProfiles
But I wasn't able to build it (there's an open issue, started by me).
Greetings
Gaukler Faun
Cool thanks @Gaukler_Faun.
New Feature
Now supports detecting profile changes as a Tasker event!

More Tasker features to come!

Not at the moment. It may be in the future, but for now it's for my own learning.
FYI, I had to setup my tasks in Tasker again, as inside the tasks it was written "Unknown plugin". A reboot didn't help.

Thanks for the feedback. This might be due to having to change the plugin name during the last release. Hopefully shouldn't be a problem in the future.
Added Tasker variables for the profile changed event containing the names of the previous profile and the profile changed to. These variables are available in tasks triggered by such an event.

Unfortunately at the moment I don't have access to any CM 14 supported devices so it would be difficult for me to debug any issues. Hopefully this will change soon. Why do you suspect the issue is related to SELinux? I feel like any issues are more likely to be related to changes in the cm platform sdk or the general wip status of CM 14 in general.

[APP][6.0+] SystemUI Tuner

For some reason, a lot of manufacturers seem to have a problem with us customizing our own devices, to the point where some disable the built-in Android SystemUI Tuner.
This app aims to fix that problem, by providing a replacement. For the most part, this is a replica of Android's SystemUI Tuner; however, there are a few extra goodies that Android's solution doesn't include by default.
While I made this for my LG V20, since LG removed the stock SystemUI Tuner, I see no reason why at least the core features won't work on other devices. Even if you have the stock Tuner already, go ahead and try this app out. There are some extra features for you.
Now for some notes:
- This app does NOT require ROOT, but you will need to grant some permissions using ADB (instructions in app).
- This app should work on any device running Android Marshmallow (6.0) or above.
- This app is EXPERIMENTAL! Certain features may not work on your particular device. If they do not, that is unfortunately out of my control.
I'm always looking for things to add, so if you have a suggestion, I'd love to hear it.

Quote "For some reason, a lot of manufacturers seem to have a problem with us customizing our own devices, to the point where some disable the built-in Android SystemUI Tuner." I have the same problem, why did I pay £600+ for the computer in my pocket if it's to be owned/ controlled by the manufacturer. Is it mine or their's ?
I'm making some good progress on a non-root version. So far the status bar icons work. I'm having trouble with intents, so Demo Mode is going to hold this back a bit.
There will be some setup required using ADB if you don't have root, but it's just a permissions grant, and there will be instructions.
So far I'm loving it, although the orientation lock icon is really bugging me. Other than that, I don't have any problems, great job!
Is it possible for this to modify the location of the items? For example move the clock to centre? I've got potato clock for this at the moment but combining it into this app would be great.

Really the only thing I'm trying to do with is app is replicate and improve SystemUI Tuner. To actually move items, I'd need to modify the SystemUI itself, which would be a lot of work to make universal.

If you ever want to donate, there's a button on the website on the side of my posts.

Tell me if that works to hide rotation lock (it'll unhide any other options you set).

Yeah. I found the correct name for the rotation lock icon it's just rotate.
I ran the command above with all the icons I wanted hidden and now I don't need the app really lol. Thanks for the command!

This app allows you to use Chop Chop motion and Torch Quick Settings tile with Flash Light techniques that work with Android Oreo and other 64 Bit ROMs for Moto G4 Plus (athene).
The App uses native Chop Chop sensor so it should work with other Moto Phones that support Chop Chop motion too.
Moto Torch supports two camera modes: Camera API and Root mode
You will find that the root mode is much faster than the Camera API especially if you are using MagiskSU as I'm using topjohnwu's libsu
I developed this app as I did not want to have 2 apps(Godly Torch and Shake Flashlight) for a simple purpose of torch

Great job done thanks, Everyone was in very much need of it.
I have the error: the file can not be opened
Great work bro.. works great.. :good:
You have to keep app running in background all the time to use it anytime or else have to open app then chop chop and flash is on. Can you make it available even if i kick the app out from recent menu. Whenever i kick it out it stops(thats the msg i get always). But as it is a beta version i think you are gonna fix this soon:Cheers:

I've developed it such that it keeps running even if you remove it from the recents menu. Force Stopping it or greenifying it will definitely stop chop chop.
You could add the torch tile quick setting to your top 6 settings so everytime you pull down the notification shade the Service is automatically started.
If it still doesn't work for you, I'll have to add a persistent notification which I personally don't like.
All this because Oreo does not allow services to run indefinitely in the background without showing a notification.
What ROM are you using?

You are right, notification just sucks. Even if i dont clear app from recent menu it closes. Im on rr oreo and privacy gaurd is off for it
Thanks a lot for the app! I've locked the Moto torch app in the recents. And the app doesn't work in root mode, experiencing fc. When I try to open the app from the app drawer, it says permissions denied. I am using latest beta of Nova launcher prime.
Wow...its faster than ever....i am on rr oreo..and it works great...just hope no battery issues take place.
Nice work . Thanks a lot.
Im on Athene RR Oreo and when i try to open the App it says permission denied . I gave all Permission i think

The only permissions it's requesting for is Camera Permissions and Root permissions. If you have root access it's better to give it root permissions or just ignore those toast messages
I have added a new version which ignores doze optimizations to stay in memory.
I also added Crash Reporting so I can fix those FCs some of you are facing

Really useful app, keep on the good work :good:
The camera API option doesn't work for my device running Resurrection Remix 6 latest build and rooted using latest Magisk. The root mode does work, but it's a bit buggy. It works for not more than a few seconds after which the light turns off automatically. I tried using both the app versions.
Thanks for this , good work:good:

#GetOmnified
It's all about innovation, new features, transparency, community and freedom
About Omni
OmniROM is our Android custom ROM variant, feature-packed but always with stability as #1 priority in mind.
Based on the Android Open Source Project (AOSP) and enriched by our developers with lots of custom enhancements, OmniROM has set out to give you a great Android experience on your mobile.
Omni isn’t better, just different.
It’s another option for the billion Android users out there. Android (vs. iOS and every other mobile OS) has thrived on options as well as the gigantic, talented development community that has emerged to build those options. That’s the beauty of Android – that you can pick and choose from a smorgasbord of devices with varying features and functionality.
Omni is a chance to get involved, no matter who you are.
Developers, whether you’ve been developing apps for a week, or ROM features for 3 years, you’re welcome. Users, we know you want to help out, and now you can - we encourage all levels of contribution, from code to reporting bugs to squashing bugs to (what developer's tend to hate) documentation.
Get Involved
The core of Omni is the community, and we recognize that everyone has a role to play. So we have a number of ways for you to get involved:
Github – our codebase where we build from.
Gerrit – view our project at the code level with the ability to see what’s merged, what’s open and what’s in review.
Forum – participate in general discussion, Q&A, and Features Development on XDA. Also find device-specific builds in their relevant forums on*XDA

HW acceleration can't work as i disabled the decoders which would result in a black video. It automatically falls back to google's OMX decoders which do work as a workaround, but it's not a fix.
Launcher3 does not support icon packs, but Nova Launcher (Pro) works as it always did, as i just tested.

Again, Launcher3 does not support icon packs.
Use an alternative which supports that feature.

Ah, now i know what you mean! I'm sorry i didn't use these settings or was aware they existed, in the first place.
I played around with them and most options seem to work, but some will require you to reboot.

Yes, noticed that too. It's either something wrong on my end (likely) or a bug from omni. It'll be looked into.
I was using Nova Launcher, theres a setting to use an icon pack somewhere.
where have you got this icone pack?
I would like to congratulate you for your great work.
For some reason, in LOS15.1 online videos wouldn't work, maybe because it wouldn't fallback to SW rendering. But it this case and apart from some minor bugs in Launcher3, everything works great so far. Thank you sir.
