I have been hearing from a lot of people that they are unable to find compatible GApps for their android 6.0 rom, so I am posting the link of most compatible GApps for android marshmallow.
At this time open gapps are the best and you can download them from here:
http://opengapps.org/
Steps:
Go to the above link.
In platform tabs choose your device type.
Then choose 6.0 in android tab.
And in last variant tab download the package of gapps you want. [I prefer Nano over others]
Then put the downloaded package in your sdcard or internal storage of phone.
Flash GApps in recovery and wipe cache and dalvik and reboot.
Hope this helps....
If you dont mind, press that thanks button....

I have the wrong gapps installed and am trying to flash gapps 5.1
I can't flash and just update the apps because the binary is different.
What I am trying to flash ( Google Stock Package )

I want to keep everything on my device except the proprietary google apps
so if there is a way to back up everything via TWRP( Except Gapps) please let me know.
From there I would perform a full wipe and just restore and then flash gapps 5.1

ok guys this is AICP 5.1.1 for the ZTE ZMAX
Features: all AICP features
notification settings
hidden settings
quick toggles
Pie Controls
OmniSwitch
SlimSwitcher
Bugs: there is one bug with the camera. to fix it i have found that before you flash the ROM you need to delete the android/data folder. then when the rom boot go into the camera app and set the storage location to sd card
HOW TO FLASH (NEW INSTRUCTIONS):
1. Place ZIP on SD Card
2. Reboot Into TWRP
3. NANDROID (DO NOT SKIP THIS FOR YOUR SAKE)
4. Don't factory reset the normal way, go to wipe > advanced wipe and click "dalvik cache", "data", "cache" and "system". If you don't, you run the risk of getting an updater-script error (not from the zip, it's a bug in some TWRP builds).
5. New Step: Reboot recovery (in the recovery menu). It will ask if you want to install su, press do not install.
5. Flash the ROM
THANKS

Hii
on the Cyanogen 12.1 rom page I found the following instruction on howto install the rom.
To some of the steps, I have an answer: (in brackets)
Thank you a lot
Download the ROM (clear)
Download GApps package (clear)
Put the zip files on your SDCard (I assume on the internal SD card, not the additional one?)
Reboot in Recovery (My phone is encrypted. Do I have to decrypt/reset it in factory mode and then press power and volume down simultaneously?)
Wipe Data/Factory Reset (I assume there is a menue point with this?)
Install CM12 zip file (how is the installation started?)
Install GApps zip file (dito above)
Reboot system (clear)
Enjoy CyanogenMod 12 .

The steps listed are as follows (my questions are in brackets):
Download the ROM (clear)
Download GApps package (clear)
Put the zip files on your SDCard (internal SD card not on additional I suppose. Exact location?)
Reboot in Recovery (my phone is currently encrypted. I assume that I have to do a factory reset before to decrypt and the power and volume+?)
Wipe Data/Factory Reset (in settings, I suppose? Or is it a menue point?)
Install CM12 zip file (how is the installation started?)
Install GApps zip file (dito above)
Reboot system
Enjoy CyanogenMod 12 .
Thank you a lot for support

Hi.
Sorry for this
I am running CM stable 12.1. My recovery is TWRP.
I saw an update in OTA. Clicked "Update".
Phone rebooted into TWRP.
What's next?
(Tried finding the file in Download folder - but it's not there)
Again - sorry ):
Thank you for your help!
I guess you are talking about the recent CM13 stable release right?
The zip is located inside the cmupdater folder.
But don't flash it yet!
As you are coming from Lollipop, you have to flash marshmallow gapps with cm13!
I am using opengapps.
Also you were lucky the update did not work automatically, without the correct gapps, you will end up with a bootloop or force closes!
Your current TWRP version does not support the builtin cyanogenmod updater. Update TWRP too.

Wow - thank yo so much!!!!
Ok so this is what you suggest (if I am right):
1. Download OpenGapps 6.0 (desired version) from here: http://opengapps.org/
2. Go into TWRP.
3. Flash Latest CM13 STABLE (located at cmupdater folder).
4. Flash GAPPS.
5. Wipe Delivk + Catch
Is this correct?
Thanks again!!!!
Before step 3.
Go to:
Wipe - Advanced Wipe - and only wipe System
(this fully removes your current gapps and all kinds of possible mods which are maybe not compatible to Marshmallow)
then go on...
What TWRP Version do you have right now?
Don't forget to do a full backup in case anything goes wrong!
