Google Fit data not updating fit.google.com website - General Questions and Answers

My android Google Fit app and my Android Wear app are both properly calculating Google Fit steps/exercise etc, but when I visit http://fit.google.com no data is showing up.
Has anyone had this issue?
Thanks.

it doesnt bother me that its not showing properly there, i would never use it, but it is odd, it shows fine on the app and not the site.

To remove what? You don't have to be on wifi, just get an internet connection. Yes, I removed you because you didn't have any phone in there Now that you do, just ask to join in again
its working now. for some reason it just didnt work at all, i guess doing it with wifi first made behave and work on 3g

Sure Just let it run...
I installed this twice on my N1, FC's when I try to start it... instantly.
After the first try failed I rebooted, cleared caches, started up again but still the same issue..
Anyone else with this problem? Check my signature for ROM/kernel/...

[Q] White background in search box and app drawer

Hi,
I vaguely remember Nexus 5's search box and app drawer has transparent and black background, but for some reason it became white, any ideas? I did root the device when I received it but that's a long time ago and this happened recently. I have also been using it to test some apps, not sure if this is caused by an app or not. Android version is 4.4.4
Thanks

I'm pretty sure Google updated the GEL launcher to have the material design look no matter what android version you're on. That's likely where the white app drawer came from.

Oh it's definitely a symptom of a deeper problem. And that problem is that Android is being systematically uglified.

Step counting on auto, how to turn off?

I was hiking the slot canyon in Anza yesterday and when I finally got back to a restaurant, I realized the phone , which I'd never enabled anything in particular on, had counted all my steps and several other things.
Does anyone know how to disable step counting on emui 5? I've done all the obvious things, like "disable step counting". Thanks. I don't care how many steps I've taken, only that I arrived.
Also: I meant to mention this but forgot. The camera works great for me, but that isn't good enough for the Honor 8. After I've taken some pictures, about 3 hours later, it always pops up a notification that says "I've finished enhancing your picture of _____" . What if I don't want an enhanced picture? Is there a way to turn off all this irritating crap? Thanks again.

If you are referring to the step count being displayed on the lock screen then you disable it through the screen lock settings. Otherwise, I believe it's in the Health App itself.
Not sure about the photo enhancing. Never seen that one before.
What app do tell you about step counting.
Plus, clear data and cache of the camera app and see if the pop-up is still present
I didn't even know that the Honor 8 had a built in step counter app in it's software.

Well, I forgot the name, it was the Health app (HiHealth or something). Try to find it and open it, you will find all your steps and lots of other information about your "health".

The only fitness app I can find is called "google fit". I've disabled it. However, the steps are still there after disabling them on the lock screen & disabling the fit app, so I think it may be a bug or else there is another counter that just keep going. It's not that bad and it doesn't eat up any noticeable energy.

I just realized I had an app called "Health" and disabled it, and now it is gone from the lock screen. The lock screen setup doesn't work for turning off steps (or not showing them). The app was located in the /system/app folder as hw-health-midware.apk

Probably doesn't matter what my frd-l04 came with that I bought from newegg that I use on ATT. It matters more that I updated to Nougat and that's the beta which had the health app in it. On marshmallow, I never had the step counter or the health app.

I probably just don't recall it from Marshmallow since I updated the first day I got it. The good news is that it's called "healthd" and can be disabled and deleted as can all their crapware if desired. I just did that and I'm not rooted yet.

Ads are killing me - How to get rid of?

So I recently upgraded my Android device and unfortunately it's not currently rootable like my old one was and I got used to a certain ad free lifestyle and now I have ads in every single app all over the place popping up left, right and center and its annoying the heck out of me, I can't live this way!
Does anyone have any methods or ideas for getting rid of these in-app ads without being rooted? My device is the ZTE Grand X4 (Z957). Any help would be greatly appreciated, thank you.

Try Adguard. https://forum.xda-developers.com/android/apps-games/adguard-ad-blocker-doesnt-require-root-t2958895
install an adsblocker app
Adblock or Adguard
I learned to live with them but I tried Adblock. Arguard works well too.

Thanks this is the kind of thing I was searching for, it doesn't block everything like some of the root based tools on my old phone but it will have to do. The premium licence is kind of expensive though coming in at $25 CAD for 1 device.

Yep I've posted there seems nobody has been able to come up with a working root method as of yet, but I remain hopeful some android gurus will find a way someday.
Hello, use malwarebytes and a antispyware from google play and let them scan your phone for any malware or any antispyware using blockers won't help because the ad domain must be blacklisted to work

Issues with Google maps

New View 10 owner. I'm getting fc's and hangs using GMaps. Waze works fine so it has nothing to do with GPS. I was a beta tester but I opted out and uninstalled any updates hoping that would work but only got more of the same.
Any help would be appreciated. Love the phone however!

Having the same exact issue and I've solved it, sort of. If you sign out of your Google account inside maps it will work perfectly, but once you sign in and restart the app it stops working again. So it works fine as long as you're not signed into your Google account inside the app...

I have no lagging issues, as far as I know
I mean the smart mode from the Screen Resolution:
You can switch from FHD+ (2160X1080) to HD+(1440X720).
Smart Screen Resolution: It decides on its own depending on your battery level.
Also from what've been reading recently, this might be a common software issue that is associated with the Kirin 970 chipset or EMUI 8.0 as some people are experiencing the same issues with the Huawei P20. Hopefully this speeds up the process of an upcoming patch to solve the problem.

Hopefully. A patch would be great. I wonder if it's been noted in Honor's forums....if they have a forum. I never even looked to see. Came here first.
Same problem here. Lags and unresponsive. Wonder what's the deal?.

I second this. No problems at all, and I have been using Google Maps often recently. Simply works flawlessly.
I am having the same issue. I tried factory reseting my phone and maps still closes on me. Only time maps seems to work is with the Andriod auto app. ?
