[Completed] Broke My T-Mobile Galaxy S5 - XDA Assist

I'm hoping some helpful folks can please point me in the right direction to allow me to unbreak my phone. It's a T-Mobile Samsung Galaxy S5, model #: SM-G900T, running Lollipop 5.1.1. I downloaded the Lollipop 5.1.1 update without an issue. (This was about a week ago. I don't auto-update because I want all the bugs shaken out of any new build, and the various patches put in place.) Oh...Yes, I am based in the US.
A few days later I popped over to the Play Store and downloaded several apps, in particular, the CM Master Cleaner...Which broke my phone while I wasn't looking. Specifically, it deleted com.android.phone.
Now, I have various apps and things, some being rather important, not working anymore. I'm something of a total noob when it comes to phones. But I know enough to realize I am in deep doo-doo right now. If someone could please point me in the right direction so I can try fixing this myself, it would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks,
Crazed Aussie

[Completed] Bluetooth not switching on on new Android boxes....

Hello there,
My brother bought a few Android boxes similar in spec to these models.......here
He bought quite a few of them rooted with his own branding on them and had his own firmware sent to him.
I was wanting to use one for XBMC which works great and for a retro games machine and this is where i am having a problem, i bought a g910 gamepad to use on this android box and switched on blue tooth but the switch immediately switches back to off.
I remember having this problem a couple of times with custom roms on the phones i had and it was usually sorted out with a fix from a developer.
I am hoping the Chinese suppliers that made these machine will send him my brother a fix or an updated firmware but there has been no reply back yet.
I would like to ask you gurus here if it is possible to fix this problem myself?
Could i use root explorer or something to repair the blue tooth problem?.......the firmware is currently on 4.4.2
I would appreciate any help.
Thanks:good:
Hi!
This is a tricky thread. Its kinda vague to be honest. You've said devices "similar" to....custom firmware someone created...etc.
You may need to be far more specific for decent advice, and obviously using the factory firmware may be your only solution. The custom firmware obviously has bugs.
All that said, here is where you should ask about devices that don't have their own section....

[Completed] LG G2 user struggling with Paranoid Android

Hi Everyone,
Im using an att LG G2 with Paranoid Android installed. I believe it to be PA version 3.4 and Android version 4.3.1 from looking af the about phone settings. Basically Ive had this phone on loan to someone for about a year and it is just bogged down with shovelware. Netflix wont even load. I was comfortable playing around with ROMs before but ive been in the Ios scene lately and am out of practice.
My main concern is having the phone back to its speed from before, getting rid of all of the apps, and starting fresh. Id like to keep PA, hopefully upgrade to the latest version, but if i can just factory reset that works too. I'm pretty sure i could reinstall PA starting from scratch with a clean phone. I've been through the forums different times and I really do find that the info is all consolidated well. I hope I don't come accross as lazy or unwilling to search, I just had a bad experience flashing my Galaxy S2 so whenever I'm not certain on the process I try to consult with people more involved.
Thank you all for your time,
Andrew Rapp

[Completed] My Galaxy S4 on verizon prepaid with hyperdrive os need help to reactivate

My S4 was origionally rooted and flashed by a guy that will no longer answer my texts or calls. He used DFS CDMA Tool and it has Hyperdrive OS. It crashed on me after downloading a local radion stations app to listen to the music on the 4th of July. I finally got on here researching how to fix it myself because I can't afford to have it done right now because I am in FL with my Dad which is undergoing treatment for lung cancer. Needless to say, I really need my phone and my straight talk phone goes off tomorrow. I have managed to get it off of the android guy screen that said downloading target do not turn off... by holding volume down, home, and power at the same time. Now I have the phone back up and going... but it still is having some issues with different apps having error messages, saying stopped working or whatnot. Also, when I dial *611 it will not let me reactivate the phone, maybe the number has been reassigned? I don't know. But I need help. Can someone please lead me through this. I am a single Mom, and I need my phone badly.
Hi,
Here is a dedicated help thread in your device section,
Samsung Galaxy S 4 i9500, i9505, i9505G, i9506 > Galaxy S 4 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting > [HELP THREAD] Galaxy S4 | Ask any question | Noob friendly
Unfortunately there's no quick fixes usually... Usually you'll be given advice and it's up to you to read read read and then do. I suggest you save your money and learn about this stuff, cause trusting others to do it for you could end poorly. These are expensive devices, and knowledge is power for sure. ?
Hope all goes well all around!

[Completed] General troubleshooting tips for dead phone?

Specifically I have a Note II that's dead, but I guess any general Android troubleshooting would be welcome.
We took it to a battery place that confirms the battery is okay (which also kinda rules out the charging port being the issue). The place also let us try a brand new battery to no avail.
I've never rooted the phone so the culprit isn't a bad ROM (a lot of troubleshooting articles come from the perspective of a bricked phone due to bad kernel).
Phone just is completely non-responsive. Straight-up hardware failure?
The almost-too-fantastical coincidence is that it happened on exactly the same day I received my new Nexus 6P and finished configuring it. I wondered if it was some kind of carrier-induced bricking process but I don't think that's the case. My account is still active with the previous carrier and they confirmed everything is cool on their end.

[Completed] Replacing the stock os/flashing

Hello everyone, I'm a newbie here at xda developers, and perhaps a newbie as well in the (more technical) android world. I've had had two android devices that died on me this past four years. This time around, I want to see if I can still bring my latest device back to life, that's why I've been googling everything in relation with the issue of my phone: stuck logo. Now, like in windows, there might be something like freshly installed android os, even it's just a stock one. And there is, but the problem, I haven't tried flashing before, I have done factory reset though this time around, since my phone won't boot, it's not an option. Besides, as far as my research goes, issues like this require full overhaul of the OS, replace it with a new one.
Now, my agony: I'm already confused with lots of information regarding flashing custom ROMS, or, what I need right now, a stock rom for my phone. BTW, this is a local brand from Philippines, Cherry Mobile H340. Now, I don't have my volume keys working since they are grounded. Is there a way wherein I can install a new stock OS for my phone via the usage of PC and USB data cable only? I don't want to spend another 12 dollars for this phone, if this is something I can still fix without having to spend for a technician even if it takes time, I'll gladly do it.
All responses are highly appreciated, but please, don't make fun of a newbie. Like telling something that won't work then I end up bricking my precious device . P.S. I will accept all corrections regarding my statement above, grammar fixes are also appreciated if there are any .
Thanks, XDA.
