[Completed] Replacing the stock os/flashing - XDA Assist

Hello everyone, I'm a newbie here at xda developers, and perhaps a newbie as well in the (more technical) android world. I've had had two android devices that died on me this past four years. This time around, I want to see if I can still bring my latest device back to life, that's why I've been googling everything in relation with the issue of my phone: stuck logo. Now, like in windows, there might be something like freshly installed android os, even it's just a stock one. And there is, but the problem, I haven't tried flashing before, I have done factory reset though this time around, since my phone won't boot, it's not an option. Besides, as far as my research goes, issues like this require full overhaul of the OS, replace it with a new one.
Now, my agony: I'm already confused with lots of information regarding flashing custom ROMS, or, what I need right now, a stock rom for my phone. BTW, this is a local brand from Philippines, Cherry Mobile H340. Now, I don't have my volume keys working since they are grounded. Is there a way wherein I can install a new stock OS for my phone via the usage of PC and USB data cable only? I don't want to spend another 12 dollars for this phone, if this is something I can still fix without having to spend for a technician even if it takes time, I'll gladly do it.
All responses are highly appreciated, but please, don't make fun of a newbie. Like telling something that won't work then I end up bricking my precious device . P.S. I will accept all corrections regarding my statement above, grammar fixes are also appreciated if there are any .
Thanks, XDA.

[Completed] Bluetooth not switching on on new Android boxes....

Hello there,
My brother bought a few Android boxes similar in spec to these models.......here
He bought quite a few of them rooted with his own branding on them and had his own firmware sent to him.
I was wanting to use one for XBMC which works great and for a retro games machine and this is where i am having a problem, i bought a g910 gamepad to use on this android box and switched on blue tooth but the switch immediately switches back to off.
I remember having this problem a couple of times with custom roms on the phones i had and it was usually sorted out with a fix from a developer.
I am hoping the Chinese suppliers that made these machine will send him my brother a fix or an updated firmware but there has been no reply back yet.
I would like to ask you gurus here if it is possible to fix this problem myself?
Could i use root explorer or something to repair the blue tooth problem?.......the firmware is currently on 4.4.2
I would appreciate any help.
Thanks:good:
Hi!
This is a tricky thread. Its kinda vague to be honest. You've said devices "similar" to....custom firmware someone created...etc.
You may need to be far more specific for decent advice, and obviously using the factory firmware may be your only solution. The custom firmware obviously has bugs.
All that said, here is where you should ask about devices that don't have their own section....

[Completed] Any manufacturers anywhere that offer Android devices that DO NOT require root.

Hello, i am new to anything regarding android as I have been broke for a very long time. I am no longer in that situation and finally went out and bought my first smart devices and I have been furious at them ever since. I am a PC user, have been for decades, I can do damn near anything I want on it and was of the (Incorrect) assumption that these things worked in a similar fashion. Obviously they don't. I have, in the process of trying to root and grant superuser rights to two seperate tablets from verizon running lollipop and ruined them. I want a device that works like a computer: I can download and run whatever I want, change whatever i want, and at the end of the day if I screw up the OS or it gets demolished by a virus, reinstall the OS myself WITHOUT unlocking bootloaders/hacking/rooting/jailbreaking, etc. As I said I have already bricked two tablets trying to get these stupid devices to work like the PCs I was told they were when they first showed up on the market. I am a hair's width away from swearing off smart devices for good and sticking with just my PC and my old flip phone since I won't be using a smart phone for anything other than calls and text at that point. So if anyone can point me in the direction of a company that makes smart devices without any sort of restrictions (like EVERYBODY does with PCs) OR at the very least a company that makes it stupid proof easy to do I would be most appreciative.

[Completed] Seandroid Enforcing issue

Okay so I hope I'm posting in a suitable area (I was debating to post here or in the Questions and Answers section). I don't usually use forums much but I try to be as respectful as I can as not to upset anyone or waste anybody's time. I'll put the important info in bold in case you don't want to read all the details. Getting to the point, I've looked several times on google and youtube but I never get a clear answer to this and I've watched dozens of youtube videos about the basics of rooting and what you should and are supposed to and not supposed to do however I still can't get an answer. I have a Samsung Galaxy Go Prime at least that's what all of my manuals say but after searching about rooting I've come to find that it's either closer related or the same as a more popular Samsung Galaxy Go phone. I've rooted it using the King Root app twice now because every time I turn the phone off it does the "seandroid enforcing" boot loop thing and both times I've restored the stock ROM, as I've heard it called, using Odin and used King Root to root it again. Now maybe I'm just an idiot but I don't think it should be doing that, or am I wrong, or am I doing something wrong?. I used to use an Iphone and I know that jailbreaking could be tethered and untethered, however I'm not sure if it is the same with android and rooting (or for that matter exactly what rooting does) as I have just recently switched. If anyone could find a youtube video explaining all of this too me that would be really helpful as all the ones I have come across while trying to find a solution are either really outdated or sharing knowledge about a particular type of phone. I will admit that I don't know very much about rooting because all sources I've tried to learn from either didn't explain anything or did not explain it well enough. The original intent for rooting my phone was to make use of my SD card, considering that the internal storage is only 8gb and the phone outright refuses to use my 32gb microSD for anything. I manually moved all of my files to my SD using the stock "My files" app on the phone and it didn't clear up much space. After rooting it I tried to use an app called "Link2SD" which unfortunately only moves part of an app to my SD and not the entire app, so if anyone knows a better solution to this problem as well that would be a great help. Thanks for any and all information and assistance, I really appreciate you and your time. :good:

[Completed] U-TAB7 from Union Suppy: Tablet supplied to people in prison

So one of my friends has a tablet that he got in prison and he was telling me that it has WiFI but its just disabled. I started telling him about the things I've done with android devices and told him I could take a look at it for him and see if I could maybe get a custom ROM on it or something. But man this thing sure seems locked down. Only has one physical button on it which is the power button so I havent even figured out if I can get it into the recovery. The only ports on it is a headphone jack, media output port (mini hdmi?), mini usb, and a DC power port. I mean just from looking at it I dont think there is much you can do but he did tell me that later iPads, the same ones, were given WiFi access. Besides that he told me people were getting in trouble because they were able to get porn on their tablets. So what Im wondering is there anything I can do to even attempt to get in this thing? Any way to get into recovery? Any tools for the PC I can use to get in? I was reading online and saw one person make a post, basically the same question I have, and one guy commented if he could get a ROM dump he could try playing around with that. Not even sure what a ROM dump is but is there a way to do that? Idk I've search all over the web and cant find any info. Maybe if I could find out if this tablet is the same hardware wise as another maybe that would be a good starting point? Idk what do you guys think?

[Completed] Need a wee hand if anyone can help.

Right I'll start off by saying I'm a noob, like a really nooby noob, but, I can learn and learn quick, here's my predicament, I bought a phone off a guy (how many times has this scenario played out) and it turns out to be an s7 clone... mmb29k.g935fxxu1apava ...now it's not a bad phone, I've had worse and I don't need them to do much...but this phone has me so frustrated it's unreal, now I know "**** one Mick, you got caught lovely" but as a logical thinker, it still has the general workings of a ****in' fantastic phone, excuse the language, so I'm on here to see if anyone can help me make it good or point me in the direction to learn from scratch how to do it myself, maybe not exactly designing my own ROM yet, as I haven't a clue about any of it, but at least getting workable ROMs already created and loading them onto it. I've tried the s7 version of some fire type ROM but when I downloaded and prepped all the required files etc, I went to the boot screen and selected the correct file from sd card just like the video (which I must point out there were vast differences in the boot screen) anyway, the ROM started then abandoned, I tried again a few times but same result, I then wiped and reset factory settings and tried again...still nothing, so I set off on a mini-mission and ended up here having found out at least that the phone IS a clone, what type of clone and also the specs on it.
Any help would be much appreciated.
Pardon the language and apologies for the the rambling.
Mick.
P.s already rooted phone, modded the theme etc...not a fan, as I said phones are basically a communication device for me and a boredom killer if I have an hour or so with nothing to do and nothing bar my phone/web to entertain me.
I seek only speed, storage space and battery life.
